lol.. if its what i read that is hilarious.. i couldn’t be that clever if i tried but i had the idea at one time and thought anet needed to implement this, but never thought it could actually be done until now.

i dont understand why anet came up with this point system.. honestly your rating should be based on your score in comparison to the average score of all 3 servers

find the average of all 3 servers scores and divide by 1000.. then take each server score divide by 1000 and subtract the average from that and that would be you +/- rating change.. you could change it from 1000 to 100 for faster server rating increase/decrease for when guilds transfer. this could also help to keep matches diverse so you are not always facing the same server over and over again.

this could create a problem with tier 8 servers being at a rating of 0 but putting a floor for rating could cause other issues as well.. if the floor is 1000 and you have 4 servers with 1000 rating then what tier do they belong in?

another thing anet could do is auto reset the ratings quarterly.. start everyone at 1000.. this way t8 servers would at least get to have different matchups and not stuck with the same server that dominates them. i would definitely hate to imagine what it would be like if Kaineng could not get out of t8 due to the rating system.

whatever it is, anet needs to do something to take the pressure off of FC and ET.. even if GoM or HoD dropped to t8 and lets say they dominated,, at least its a different server. i would rather get destroyed by a different server than to just lose to the same server over and over again. im in GoM and excited about the chance to face NSP again. they might stomp us but its exciting because its a change of pace.

Earlier today WvW bugged, many of you probably noticed. I went to DH borderlands to actually find myself falling from the sky in someone elses borderlands.

It was Blackgates.

I get on map chat, and there were not only HoD but GoM with me as well.

AND TOGETHER Tier 7 Servers united in killing all of the Krait clearly working for Blackgate. TAKE THAT BLACKGATE! Tier 7 FTW.

i noticed something weird as well.. when i went to eb ( im from gom ) and saw 2 dh invaders way up by our spawn dead. they were red named as invaders. they had the dead ally icon above them and showed on my map as dead allies. it was very weird.. then when i caught up with my HH buddies and of course dived into battle to kill a few only to be killed myself and wp back, then it was normal dead enemies in the spawn area and the dead ally icons disappeared.

Bunzy is a D/D ele. Confusion mesmers are a hard counter to his build. D/D ele’s have frequent change of attunements, frequently use their skill bars; this is why confusion is deadly to them.

I am a Mesmer who runs either a shattercat build, or a glam confusion build. I can kill D/D ele’s in either build; BUT it is a heck of a lot easier to do so in a confusion build. D/D ele’s spam soo many buttons that they melt themselves to death.

It’s a discipline issue and a l2p issue. Period.

and anet is looking at eles for possible nerf… now someone wants to nerf mesmers.. i remember when thieves were complained for nerfing ( yeah i was one of them but some pretty much said L2P, meaning find a weakness and learn how to fight them ),, so i did and it took time and money figuring out a build that i like and learning how to counter them.

if you are a dd ele running solo then you are gonna have to expect to lose. i lose as well. i dont beat every theif but i win most and tie some. this mesmer build would probably destroy me. either learn how to counter them with your current build, or change your build to beat them, or accept the fact that you cant beat everyone.

to the NR,, SE,, and i think EO,, and not sure of others we were fighting at speldans just a few minutes before this post,, that was a long fun fight but you kept us from getting the camp,, thnx,, ( it wasn’t all at once.. it was a few of you then when we finally got you a few more show up and we get you and a few more show up and you just would not let us have that camp,,,lol )

There used to be two Thieves that did this on our server, with even identical names (difference being an accent over a letter). I’m sure there are a decent number of running with this idea now, especially since we can abuse the culling and rendering from Stealth still.

Some loudmouth ‘I kill thieves easy’ guy in the chat started mouthing off, so invited him to have a go … he died much to the amusement of those already dead and he rage quit hehe
Sadly Gandara server is full of guys who are all talk and no trousers- so to speak :-(

i think alot of servers have loudmouths who think they are all that.. and when they lose they rage quit.. they blame others or they say he hacking just because they lost.

i used to run either staff or s/d and never really like d/d but that was because i was low level and usually = dead when doing that unless you have a group. but being level 80 and hearing my server complain about a dd ele from BP ( looked like storm and was in the NOM guild ( referencing omnom berries.. cant fully remember the guild ) i was intrigued to start trying dd ele. ( i didn’t copy paste so i ended up spending alot of gold on trying different things and man it was alot of gold til i found the build i wanted which is the normal bunker build ). i complained on here like others about stealthy thieves cause even as dd i was losing.. someone made a statement" if you cant beat them with what you have then find another way til you do and learn their weaknesses".. so i eventually did and made my build just for the purpose of if i happened apon a solo thief ( i dont always win sometimes its a tie ).

so if i was able to beat that thief doesnt mean i would beat all 6 of you.. probably wouldn’t need all of you to beat me.

one time i checked on north camp being contested and found a thief from DH there.. i engaged him and we battled.. he of course would stealth,, then shoot and knife and stealth again.. we went around and around and i knew i had allies on the way so if i couldn’t beat him i knew i could last long enough til help arrived. a mesmer friend came in and then it was 2 v 1 and we went round and round but we could not get him down.. i thought this isn’t right how is he still evading and surviving. then 2 more allies came in i think they were uplevel warriors and this thief downed both of them. as i was fighting the thief i noticed they were being stomped and then i realized there were 2 thieves and they were alternating their stealths and attacks. they looked identical. its probably not a new strategy but first time i seen it and thought it was brilliant tactic. we eventually were able to separate them 2 and burst 1 down and then i think my mesmer friend got the other.

Fight Club needs to be moved into some other pvp (like a sPvP deal). Yes it’s a cool idea, but it has no place in WvW when any servers entire borderlands is “flipped”. I know I’ll get flamed etc. Anet needs to address this because in it’s current form using WvW for 1v1 is more like “match fixing” when teams of people sit and do what should be SPvP rather then fight as the mechanic was intended.

Im not gonna flame ya.. i agree anet needs to do something and that something is to make a dueling mechanic or map for 1 v 1, 2 v 2. etc.. spvp is too fixed and most cant use their full wvw build in spvp since its not allowed. racial skills are not allowed in spvp.

also hear me out on this one.. ik a bl was flipped. it was flipped because the active wvwer’s from that bl were participating in fight nite. if fight nite was moved out of wvw and into spvp ( which it probably will not ) then those active wvwer’s would be in spvp dueling and the bl would still have been flipped. even if anet designed a separate map for dueling and we could have fight nite there then those wvwer’s would be there and still a map would be flipped.

This talk about Jumping puzzles especially from GoM guilds TYRI/BS/GoM. Don’t blame DH for camping the puzzle. These guilds specifically started it first. Eye for an Eye.

I have to call bs on this one.. There is no way in …. that you can tell who it was that actually started it first. every server has campers. every server has those that just attack to be attacked and those who just want to do the puzzle and do not fight.

As i have stated in a previous thread ,, 90% of the time i go into the jp i am ganked by DH campers. I never said DH started it but that is just my experience. I rarely have any issues with HoD in the jp. I never really had any issues with SE until tonight.

since we are naming some tags here are my issues.. SE ( just recently ).. Jade.. MoRt.. DARK.. MEAN.. NOX.. LOAD.. BURN.. and just recently (Pak).. and there are others but these are the ones i notice the most.. and i have encountered then since the beginning of our first match up.

I have conversed with some from each bl and to hear all of.. gom is the most hostile.. hod is the most hostile.. dh is the most hostile.. its all the same. so if you are gonna point out guilds from gom.. ( and if you do about hod ) you might want to take a look at the guilds from your own server as well.

im not really complaining about these guilds. ive made it past them all and did my part to clear them out. my complaint is to not point fingers because you dont really know who started it.. no one does!!

well we did get to have a small fight nite in gom bl… special thanks to the gom.. hod.. and dh for sticking around and having fun.. sorry my head doesn’t work sometimes but should have taken some pictures.

You really shouldn’t be talking about servers as a whole in this context. GoM has attacked us at the same time as dh. This has happened many times when we were in last place by a non-trivial margin. You might not try to fight over “scraps.” However, everyone on your server doesn’t feel the same way.

Personally, I’m more concerned about finding a good fight when I go into WvW; winning for the week carries little to no meaning or significance. I tend to harass GoM more because I think my odds of finding good GoM (capital G) players is higher than finding someone good on dh (lowercase d).

I wonder if we ever bumped into each other in a fun filled duel??

i didn’t mention thieves. my info comes from what i hear from my guildies alot.. omg i hit for 12k.. omg i hit for 15k.. i even heard omg i just hit for 21k. i didn’t use that number because im pretty sure thats against low level/armor characters. i believe that most of the time i hear those numbers are from warriors. a few times these were against level 80 characters but probably poorly built characters idk.

but yeah since you mentioned it i do believe ive seen myself crit for 5k before but rarely. 5k against 5 people = 25k. lets say those 5 hit me for 4k each.. well so what if i have damage output of 25k i didn’t down anyone but those 5 just downed me. now if there are 6 then im gonna take 24k damage but one of them will receive no damage at all from me.

thieves have a trait that removes conditions every 3 seconds and another that regenerates health while stealthed so the churning earth bleed doesn’t matter.

and you know as well as i do that churning earth takes 3.5 seconds to cast. so even with lightning flash its easily dodged. most fights i get into people always save their dodges for 2 skills.. updraft and churning earth

when they see RTL they dodge at the very end to avoid updraft. this dodge also makes the fire burst spells ineffective because even if you notice and dont cast right away you have to line yourself up with them to cast them.

can a bunker ele do 10k – 15k damage in 1 hit. churning earth is gonna do 2k – 3k damage for a bunker ele. ik that it adds alot of bleed and cripples but its easily dodged even with lightning flash.

i run a d/d bunker ele and have lost probably as much as i have won. we are not indestructible.

if 5 is gonna be the cap.. when i run into a zerg then only 5 of you should be allowed to fight while the rest perma sleep.

I have an issue with the cap radius. lets say you defend your keep with seige placement and you place 5 siege to counter them and thier siege. then they move to another location within the radius and attack there.. well now you cant defend with siege since your siege is still up and within the radius of the new siege you need to place to defend.

i agree.. aoe cap gone.. drop off from the focal point of the aoe spell.

come on.. as an ele i can only hit 5 people with and aoe spell but 20 can hit me at once.

also what about mesmer portals. i see portal inside a keep we just capped. i stand right next to it since its close to the edge of a cliff and ready to cast updraft. 20 people port up. i cast updraft.. now will this knock all 20 people off if they are in the right place of the cast and haven’t moved or will it only knock 5 off.. and if it only knocks 5 off will it guarantee to knock off all mesmers if 5 or less or is it random and therefore a waste of my time to even make an attempt to defend the tower if i had the opportunity too?

Hey DH.. When you do break out events, please tell your yak to wait until you break the gate open before coming into the tower. This was very rude of him just coming through a closed gate uninvited.

culling is a problem but i can agree with most that rezzing is a real issue. i dont think rezzing should be removed from the game but the system needs to be changed. too many times i have seen a zerg rez someone while ac’s and aoe are hitting the ground of the dead guy and of course the dead guy gets up and maybe you downed one or 2 but they are rez faster and then all your work into killing the guy is for nothing.

the downed state rez should be slower than it currrently is. ive downed people and fired a ballista shot at them while they were downed and before my next ballista shot hits they are rezzed by 1 person.

dead players should incur a death penalty where next time you die it takes longer to rez you and after so much death penalty you have to wp and DP cant be removed unless you wp. either that or make it so you can still deplete health of the dead. this way it makes it harder to rez them and you will have to think twice before just barging in to rez someone like most zergs do and most of the time succeed.

and team killer i saw the video and sorry to see that,, it is embarrassing. I would have to consider deleting my toon and starting over is i was part of that group of 30.

Lol…GoM just hit a tower in HoD (se one) using 20+ players and 5 Golems and they barely managed to take the tower against 10 defenders, plus they lost 4 of their golems. Would that be considered an epic fail?

I was there.. we had only 10 people if that. when the golems were built we only had 7 and i believe we had only 4 golems. so 3 people fighting and the other 4 in the golems.

i was fighting and eventually was killed and i wp back running past the se tower and only 2 golems remained with half health coming. 4 of you were fighting a mesmer and she gave you so much trouble 2 golems made it to the tower.

after we took the tower we were fighting in the tunnel and up to the bridge. i believe you guys outnumbered us then and we pushed you back almost to the steps of your keep before you started pushing us back. only your treb from the keep knocked down the wall. you lost a ram and a cata in the process of taking your tower. you finally got a ram up but your treb did most of the work for you. and there was 5 – 7 of us in the tower and about 15 – 20 of you then.

it was a fun battle. and i managed about 10 – 15 loot drops with 2 rares.

Fight Night? Same time same place?

Hi Yami. Its me. Thanks again for the duels in the jp by the fire trap and thnx to the Jade ranger too. It was and is always fun. It was very challenging to fight there watching our locations and the terrain to make sure we dont fall off or knock each other off ( surprisingly no one fell or was knocked off ). Made for some really tough fun duels.

Im in GoM server. The only time we really ever have a que for EB is right after the reset when everyone is bum rushing SM. But yesterday a few people whispered me saying they were in a que for EB. A que midweek,, IMPOSSIBLE. I thought," really,,, we have that many people".

Well now it would make since if they lowered the cap why we would have queues going for EB in GoM.

i knocked some invaders off the edges about 3 or 4 times last night. unstealth + updraft and they fall and die. i get no credit for it.

All i do on my mesmer to get easy badges is 1,4,4 (Scepter+Focus) and there it is… Just a second more isn’t a problem.

I’ve seen that done a few times already and before i get knocked off i can use stability so i dont fall, well win some lose some anyway, not all the time. But i dont want to waste a second on trying to make a hit before knocking them off and lose that chance. If i fall to my death as a result of someones action then they should get the credit.

The wp system needs to be set for offense and defense. if the outer wall/gate is attacked then the wp should not be contested. only when the inner wall/gate is attacked then the wp should be contested. this would help to counter the speed rezzing of the attackers.
