We are planning to add more stat sets and appearance options that can be purchased with badges in the March update. We’re still working on the full list so I don’t want to dive into details yet, but it is something we’re working on.

We use existing mechanics like player kills and event completions to award world XP, but it is an entirely new system with new pieces of data associated to it so unfortunately there’s no way to award retroactive progress.

Wow, some arguments are just too mindnumbing to endure. For the record, I do WvW every single night and have done so for months and I’m against retroactive credit for titles/abilities. I think the idea is simply ludicrous and overtly greedy.
I think it’s about fairness.
You know how to recognize a dedicated WvW player?
He has no legendary weapon and no ascended gear. And his exotics are probably from the karma vendors in Orr.
I have tons of achievement credit for things like supply used, dolyaks escorted, etc, but while PvE players have reaped rewards, I’ve got nothing.
Seems unfair that now, after PvE players have gotten everything they wanted, they can join WvW and start on equal footing with me and my 2000 dolyak escorts and 15,000 supply used which will count for nothing.
I certainly can’t switch to PvE and suddenly be on equal footing with them.

Starting at square one allows those players who are becoming interested in WvW to join without feeling behind.
This is good for WvW overall. Get new players in and make them not feel behind.

Well tbh i think nothing ll be retro except the new stuff we ll be able to buy with badges.
I hope they ll also reset PVE progression. I feel behind sometimes.
Could be great to create a new money-currency other than gold to reset whole economy and troll the TP golden boy.

Good question. I reallly hope Anet can answer this one.
If feels like the game is somehow reseting if there is no retroactive stuff. Any Pve-only players ll be at same level than a hardcore WvW players. It feels a bit unfair, but it could bring more players to WvW….i dunno…..
At least make the possibility to turn badges for Leveling up those new rank !!!

As long as the mechanic of damage tagging vs support isn’t changed, the end result will be the same:
damage dealers will get more loot, while the support builds that are the basis of their group fights, still get a lot less.
It’s nice it’s ‘more’ now, but the core mechanic is still broken.
I have way more loot with my support class than before as it’s now way easier to tag ennemies.

I spent the last two nights testing it with everything you recommended, here come my review.
PROS :
- Insane badges farming build. Made 135 the first night and 160 last night( 3hours of play) by melting zerg while beeing in a 5 man party. The best farming build i’ve ever tried as a mesmer.
-It’s very well balanced between zerg gameplay and roaming gameplay as confusion is not a big deal with Pve Vets, GS with berz gear helps a lot taking them down (Especially dolyak lol).
-You feel very usefull at any time even if you use a GS !!!
-It somehow gives nice support to your allies (Feedback/Nullfield/Veil/Mass Blinding)
- Carrion helps a lot surviving in mellee train and that extra life saved my 25xStacks many times.
- So much fun throwing you glam skill in front of a Zerg.
CONS :
- If Anet nerf foods in WvW (the one with 40% cond duration), this build is destroyed.
- I have trouble dueling good thief as you cant pop 2 clones +Blink and shatter with Illusionary Persona = Thief dead. I need to make a perfect timing of my glam skill to take them down. 1v1 is not that good tbh. Especially against players who only do 1v1 in WvW lol. This build is about AOE, not really OP for 1v1
- I think you can remove sigil of fire because we can tag enough ennemies with this build. Take something else instead. Something that could help in 1v1 would be really nice.
-Indeed it really sucks in Pve
To conclude im gonna stick with this build just because i love to be that usefull in WvW and i really have some fun with it ( and i love badges…
) before it’s nerfed hard.

Regarding 1v1 i have tons of negative feeback, too bad. Swaping sigil is a good idea tho(Maybe Air runes, i dunno), ll make some test and until i found a fix for 1v1 i ll change the descirption of the build. At the very beginning i was using blink instead of veil, it really helped. Now we do not use it anymore the build is quite weak in 1v1, that’s true.
I dont think it ll be nerfed. Precast Izerker +Blink+Mirror Images+ Shatter( With Illusionary Persona) with full berz gear is the most OP burst of the game. ! One shooting 3 players in 1,5 sec. That IS gonna be nerfed for sure xD.
@Rapid: Remember that playing with GS is one of my objective. It’s really hard to drop the staff for Scepter+torch. Staff is amazing .Thanks for the pizza tip tho.
You see enemies entering your glamours (like veil) don’t get blinded and don’t get confusion, they only get it if you cast it on them. And if you cast the glamour on them, they don’t count as entering the glamour, so you don’t get a confusion from that.
I’m affraid you dont know how it works and miss the whole purpose of this build as you said that enemies dont have confusion stack when they enter in glam zones. You are wrong.
If you cast veil and your enemy run through it, he ll have 1(enter) +1(exit) confusion stacks . Confusing enchant(VIII) Glamours skill cause confusion to foes who enter/exit target aera.
This is why this build is insane against running Zerg.
Now if you cast veil ON him , he will instant have 1 Confusion Stack + Blind and get ANOTHER confusion stack if he quits the veil line.
Im in game testing it right now, this is how it works. Im quite embarrassed that a “half-competent 1v1 player” like you does not see the purpose of this build. I ll try to explain it better in the build description.

Month ago I went full rabid scepter + focus with a pure confusion galmour build. It’s a strong antiZerg build and good 1v1 (versus bad players tho).
But i was a bit bored by dealing confusion damages only. In some situation confusion build really sucks.
I love playing with Gs as a mesmer because of AOE potential. Thats why i made this build.
When i need focus, i just manually switch to it

The poor scouts who have to sit in every kitten tower for hours on end now. I call not it.
They should be increasing the rewards for defending.
Yeah but thats really hard to make.
Give every towers/keep a barrel full of scanning guns (could be an upgrade) that allow scouts to scan 10+ ennemy or 2+ sieges and trigger an alarm displayed on every ally screen.
Scouts who helped to trigger the alarm are given 2 badges of honnor (Cd : 5min)

What does that have to do with the price of eggs in China? T 1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8 doesn’t matter. Increasing the cap for orange swords does only one thing…that is provide more cover for larger groups. I personally do not care if you zerg or if you prefer a small squad this change will only promote larger groups. So if you dislike zergs this is a bad idea. If you like zergs then this is a good idea. Speaking of T 1/2/3 and looking down your nose at lower tiers is irrelevant of what the change would do. If you use sound communication and strategy with the current orange sword mechanic you will not draw orange swords…as I stated currently we can send a squad of 20 at a tower and they never draw orange swords until we attack the lord.

You obvisouly dont play in T1/T2/T3 where you have only 1 commander with 90+pugs behind him.
If it does not change anything for your so pro team on your low tier realm, it ll def have consequences for top tier where most of pug players play.

In Top Tier we only have 1 big 70+ Zerg the most of the time. This update ll help to split the zerg and small pug group (15-20players) ll be able to cap things without beeing spotted with orange swords. It ll also help small guilds to cap things. There are pugs everywhere in top tier, so if you only send 4 of your mates to kill guards, chances are 5-6 pugs ll pop sword.
In your lower tier (T7) you dont run with such big zergs. So yeah it ll probalby promote bigger group than you usually run with.
So you see , this new update may have different consequences in T1 and T7.

This will not change a thing in WvW. We run a squad of 15 to 20 and don’t draw orange swords currently b/c we only use just enough at a time to not draw swords; also called strategy. This will just make it a lot easier for a zerg to not draw swords and make it harder for small teams to cap things b/c people will always assume it is a zerg hitting when they see the normal white swords. I currently rely on people ignoring white swords and chasing the orange swords. Zergs aren’t going to get smaller guys….they just now will be provided that much more cover.
You obviously dont play in T 1/2/3.

It ll kill mono-zerg gameplay and give a boost to small guild who try to cap things.
50+big zergs now become 2×25 without sword.
Would be even more better if they set the threshold somewhere bewteen around 15.

The difference is AMAZING in WvW big fights, you ll get always focused as a big model but rarely as an asura. Really.
