almost every mesmer on pvp have 30 points on illusion trait
yap after some hot join match i dont know how cant say this isnt OP. we need buffs and with this patch he get like ton of them: vigor buff, phantasm delay gone and a insane increase of damage.
we dont need the last one, damage is something clearly dont miss on shatter builds and this might stack buff is for shatter builds, dont exist any other build that benefict so much from might stack
before patch almost mesmer on pvp were already use a canon glass shatter build now with this buff build will be even more limited on spvp.
that might buff could be 3 per clone on PvE and just 1 on sPvP, that is balanced right now is clear OP, can kill anyone easy and im just a normal player a top player mesmer must be LOL with this increase of damage

This patch just opened up for condition/shatter specs build. It’s been awhile since a different build opened for us. SPECIALLY in pve and wvw.
You contradict yourself, you’re playing a Mesmer, and you don’t know if our LOS is fixed yet. You’re playing sPVP, meaning you’re competitive enough to play that lane and yet you complain by winning? No, you’re not a mesmer. You’re probably a Necro judging by your post and got hit by a mesmer.
Play a different class for now. Pick the nerfed ones…oh wait…they all got buffed as well!
my main was necro long time ago, than my team need e mesmer and that is my main now., win more tournamnets with mesmer than necro. yes im a mesmer lvl 40 and dont know if LOS is already fixed because only play for a few minutes after patch -.-

that trait is OP for a minor trait period. is a big buff and im pretty sure will not last long, we got on this patch lot of bugs/fixes so we dont need those extra might for nothing.
mesmer canon glass were never “glass” but now they are like a super canon. have 9 might perma in combat is OP dont know why you cant see it. (mind warck with 15might , 52%critic damage and +250power from sigil critic damage is just insane)
ele perma protection is a bug, this insane minor trait not, something must be wrong. at this rate game never be balanced because is clear arenanet dont know what they are doing. every patch appear new bugs and buffs that dont remember to anyone

what was wrong with mesmer was mostly important the delay on phantasm atack, they fixed that and now that atack almost instantly, we dont need this insane minor traits that is better than any mesmer elite trait.

be able to have always 9stack might and with spikes 20-25 might is just INSANE. this without any might buff or any might sigil
boon removal? are you serious? almost none class can remove boons efectly and even necros cant do nothing against this might stack because we can stack them so easy. we have 4 shaters ability not 1 (not counting trait reset shaters)
is like saying necros are great at removing ele perma boons …..

1 might each clone would be ok, now is to much damage increase.
isnt 12 stack might because dont stack with ilusionar persona, so 3 clones each one give 3 might = 9 stack might.
my build is a shatter build, 20/20/0/0/30 so this change make me fell like some god playing GW2. common those 9 stack might perma in combat are just insane (and you can easy reach 20 stack might)
in this patcj i just want they correct delay from phantasm atack, they didi i and work great now but now they add this insane minor trait that IMO will ruin spvp completly.

This is a classic example of people not having any clue what they are talking about and spouting random nonsense. It does not break stun or immobilize. The range is fairly short, and it regularly fails to even teleport ANY distance.
What new complaint will there be? I’ve heard complaints about every single shatter ability, blink, decoy, mirror images, phantasmal berserker, blurred frenzy, phantasmal duelist, magic bullet, temporal curtain/into the void, portal, moa morph, mass invis, time warp, deception (doesn’t work 90% of the time), and phantasmal rogue.
How about we try to play the profession and understand the mechanics before we start whining again?
so true. i see so much wrong information in some post like saying is a 1200 teleport skill that break immoblize/stun. nope is like 300-400 range teleport that dont do anything against stun/immoblize except teleport you from place but you will still be immobilize/knocdown/stun
staff is a defensive/support weapon that mean if you are using a shatter build you will gonna do very low damage, anyone without stun/immobilize can avoid mind wrack just by run away from clones
is so easy to tell who is the real mesmer, just need call target him, after he usedecoy is easy to see where he is because when he leave stealth the animation is very clear and is the only clone that move in all direction, clones only run directly to you dont move to left or right
btw the skill indeed can teleport for some great places like go on top of structures but can put you inside them too, if this haappen on tournament mean that your team is screw because you will need to logout and reenter

Why do I feel like I’m feeding a troll, but in any event, that build sucks. It’s not a true bunker build (no Ele “bunker” would use that build) nor will it do substantial damage. Seriously, 20% recharge time on Air skills and cantrips mastery? Renewing Stamina? Do you even play an Ele?
You’re aren’t gonna get 25 kills to stack the 250 power from bloodlust without dying cause you’re healing is mediocre (no evasive arcana heal and no regen/vigor on cantrips) and your armor is only 2.4k. Yet you don’t have a ton of power, 1839 power and you expect to get 25 quick kills?!?

please share with us your amazing d/d build. i cant stack 250 power? you must be play some strange tournaments were you do mostly 1vs1 -.-
20% recharge time on air skills why? you complain about i dont have much armour and im gonna die but you having one of best defending skill (shocking aura) available every 20s is a shock for you? (not mention updraft will be available every 32s and that aura will give 10s base fury)
same for cantrips 20% recharge, complain about dont have regen (only useffull for long combat, will do nothing against burst combos) but reduce CD of 3 amazing BS is not good for you, is better spend on cantrips regen/vigor, dont know if you notice but with this build you already have lot of vigor.
you will have always at least 4might stack (most of time will be 7) so power will be 2k, than you will crit almost everytime, 45% critic chance is a lot, if you cant kill anyone is because you are bad period.
evasive arcana now is mainly used just for the water dodge nothing more, if you want that so much you can remove 10 points in air and put there, but shocking aura is to much good….

A good elementalist has the best of all worlds, he can tank, can have a variety of boons with high duration, he can heal abundantly, AoE dps very well and has amazing mobility. Oh and their downstate is one of the best in the game.
If you build it as a bunker for tournament games, you can survive fights against 2-3 people for a very long time, which makes it the best bunker class for holding a point.
Your AoE dps as a bunker is decent and your heal is ridiculous.
If you die you are able to quickly move back to your point.Burst eles are amazing for team fights with their huge AoE spells and knockbacks, but i would say they are fine.The real problem is bunker eles.
lol all this qq, may i just ask which 2-3 vs the ele is. because we have 13.8k hp and thief combo can hit that in 1 go, shatter mesmer can hit like aoe 15k combo. would love to see which 3 classes your talking about ele tanking.
it seems we have huge regen BUT we need it. lowest hp pool and light armour. gg.

with this build if you are good you are almost invencible and as soon you stack +250 power and change that weapon for another with sigil fire or +5%damage killing guys is easy14k Health with a little over 2.4k armor. Most don’t run with eagle runes or 20 in Air Magic, so with Fury the Crit Chance is typically around 35%. The build is strong (and I agree with most people that shocking aura is too good atm), but that build you just posted can be countered, and potentially gibbed by a Thief or Warrior if shocking isn’t up or if Mist Form is on CD.
I personally feel Elementalists are fine. If they aren’t playing defensively they’ll probably get insta-gibbed by a Thief otherwise. Typically why I keep a Soldier’s amulet when playing in hotjoin, in case I see an overabundance of Thieves.
nope, is 20k health that build need change amulet for soldier, the stats i put was from using soldier amuler, otherwise you will have 48% critic damage. to avoid thief burst you can use any of the BS, one make you invulnerable, other teleport you and the other give you protect and stability with any of this is impossible you killed quick form a thief and you have lot of dodge and CC
if everything failed you deserve to die, you have lot of things to avoid any class burst damage, on 1vs1 for sure you will not die against a thief or warrior
obvious if a thief catch you from behing when you fight another guy and you dont expect it you will almsot die, but you still have more health and much more toughness than a mesmer shatter build than can be killed in 1s by a thief

but look at it from most class perspectives. you can bunker out in so many classes, and also do so much damage on other classes. why ele in particular?
clear the damage, bunker eles after nerf arent a problem in fact after nerf i never saw again a ele bunker. (they need nerf but the nerf was to big i guess)
ele in particular because dont exist any other class with so much damage, so much defense, so much team support as ele d/d….
Eles not OP, tank ones maybe but that applies to all classes with a bunker spec they ruin the game.
Thieves in the other hand with their 11k backstabs are OP.

shatters arent a problem for any good d/d ele, you have lot of AoE (can kill clones so easy), even if you are immoblize you have so many options to avoid combo than before you run out of them you already kill mesmer without any problem.
obvious this is with good builds not those d/d ele full burst that die in seconds and complain they dont have any defense

yap d/d ele need to be nerf a bit, they have insane damage, lot of defensive skills, lot of break stuns, great support team this with 1500 toughness and almost 20k health.
they can have perma swiftness and fury and almost vigor always up in combat, not to emntioned shocking aura with just 20s CD (traited) is insane.
on top of this, ele d/d can do good damage in all atunements, even in water he can do good damage, than fire do insane damage, air is CC and do good damage and finally earth, something that should be mostly for defensive can do just an amazing damage with last skill (even skill 2 do can crit more than 2k damage !!)
what they need to do is change skills on water and earth, water is suppose to be for heal (still skill 2 do lot of damage, i can damage for +3k and heal people) and earth last skill can crit for almost 5k this will a build that is far from be canon glass and almost impossible to die.
enemy dont have any break time because ele d/d can do lot of damage with any atunement
than he can stack 250 power (is easy do this ) with sigil and put another sigil for more +5%damage ot sigil fire and than you see a ele d/d killing anything easy
is the best 1vs1 and the best roamer of game, even better than thief ( RtL every 12S and perma swiftness) plus is the best class to go out of combat.
this with good builds not those crap build d/d full canon glass with berserker where they die in 4s, the build im talk about use soldier (can use valkyrie if you are good enough to avoid damage)

easily counterable? thief killing lord is the only thing your team cant do anything to prevent it, unless some of you die and respawn when thief id atacking lord, otherwise no one can reach fast enough to kill thief before he kill LORD .
thief will do a easy 1vs1 with lord and that thief is much more srong than lord, all he need to do is daze him when lord go to heal and thats it, lord is dead in second.
you dont even know thief is inside your base before he start atack lord and that is too late especially because he will just fight a very weak lord without any adds.
what my team do (and many others) is very easy to spot. will happen near 350 points , portal cant be far away from enemy base (dont have enought range) and all team will be together. if you see 4 guys run together with portal near them is because they will use this strategy to kill lord.
otherthing mesmer need to have portal available (90s CD) and TM (210s) otherwise kill lord will take to much time and other team can easy counter this sending just the point defender they have (a guardian alone will protect the lord with np) and this strategy they was suppose to finish the game can be a disaster.
thief just need have some stealth and thats it, is just one guy even if he failed he can try again and isnt a disaster, team will loose just one point (on worse case), on contrary mesmer portal mean that if you failed it you will loose all points
any team that do this mesmer strategy know exactly what they are gonna do. our point defender guardian can alone protect lord and kill everyone with help of adds (yes because with this stategy no one is atacking adds directly just focus on lord),so adds will gonna do lot of damage
you just need have attention to this:
-enemy team have around 350 points
-they are all together (you never see that on tournaments)
-they have a mesmer
- gate is already down and no one tryed even atack lord before(this mean they will gonna try for sure this strategy)
-even if you failed all this your point defender, your point atacker, or your graveyard bunker can clear see the mesmer run to enemy base to open the exit portal
thief lord strategy dont have almost any negative side (is just one guy) and you dont know when he will gonna try it because he dont have prepare anything, just need see when is team dont need really need help and then go very quick to lord and kill him in seconds. please tell me how you counter this? are you gonna put one guy of your team always near LORD when you see a thief on other team??

And yes, no class should be able to solo the lords in such a short time.
…. Thieves are much slower at killing lord then are warriors and some other classes, just that we can skip lords guards.
thieves are the only class can actually kill boss alone very quick. a warrior? a warrior need to kill first all adds, other team have more than time to send one guy to finish that warrior alone. i never see a warrior alone try kill lord, dont know what tournaments you are playing.
thieves can avoid the gate (so you dont have any warning…) plus he can completly avoid all adds on lord, lord alone is a piece of cake to kill, a thief dont even need to activate is elite.
you say " …just we can skilp lord guards". that just (and you forget to smentioned you can skip gates too) is what make thief insane OP on legacy foefire, is a 150 points other team cant do nothing to prevent it unless put someone always defend lord wich mean is a 100% loose match.

dont even need any player skill to kill lord or any tactic, just go there spam some skills and lord is dead…. amazing player indeed.
my team most of time kill lord but we need previous destroy gate, than open portal on graveyard send the rest of team for midle point than i open again portal near lord. with 3-4 guys and time warp we only focus on lord and are be able to kill him very quick (when have TM up), this i can say is tactic.

i can just LOL to guys that say use lot of treb before patch and dont see any change after patch.
serious or you are lying and didnt use much treb or you have some serious problem on our eyes.
i am a mesmer and for obvious reason i am always on treb on tournaments, the camera view now is so bad that last tournaments my team did no one were using treb because is pretty much useless now
correct this please or batle kylo soon will be just a normal map without anything special

Ok so its sounds like you could counter the summon delay by having a subset of traits. So we fixed a bug that lets all those triats work together but that also makes them not able to exploit the delay anymore. Since it seems like they were working and mostly balanced without the delay I am going to go ahead and reduce the delay on this stuff to .25 seconds. I just tested it at 0 seconds and that breaks some other things so I think .25 is the best compromise.

thief immobilize and still be able to evade with disabling shot dont make any sense, he dont even move so how the hell is he evading atacks? LOL (ranger quick shot is the same thing)
death blossom is another strange evade skill. you put a mark on ground a thief use death blossom and when in air he trigger the mark and evade it….

at least give us a option to turn the old colour system on for tournaments, i couldnt care less about colours on tournaments, anything that confuse you even for split of second is a major thing.
having red guys play on blue team and blue guys on red team is just strange.
this are the things that make me wonder about how serious are arenanet pvp team. change colours really? with so many and many things to change/improve why are you losing your time with this?
tournaments guys will still mainly use the old colour system (if is available) , this is mainly to please hot join guys.
as it is now is just confused and pretty useless, if i could choose previous what colour scheme mny team have that will be great. for example:
i enter tournament and my team already choose a colour set for red team and blue team, so if we will be blue team we going use blue/white/xxx colour and if we go red we will use red/white/xxxx.
couldnt care less about this change, for me is a negative change as it is now, with improvements in future im sure will be great now my team will just spend time to completly paint ar,our before each tournament match
both are channel range skills, diference is one is spammable (thief) and other the caster can do other stuff, that calls class mechanic.
blind is so powerfull against mesmer that phantasm build is completly useless now, you cant relly you dps in something that most of time do nothing either because you failed cast it because bilnd/block/dodge, they are amazing easy to kill ( even with traits any burst class need almost only 1 hit to kill them) and dont even good have dps.
balance? sorry but clearly you dont know what is that. illusion should be treaten not as summons neither simple weapon atacks, should be treaten as illusion, now they are treaten like simple atacks (well not even that because dont exist any channeling skill that miss all atacks with just one blind and exist lot of weapons skill that can still be cast even when you are blind)
legacy of foefire and batle kylo is where mesmer really are great with portal, on forest mesmer will not make much diference with portals.

moa was great before the nerf because a moa guy was a 100% kill (amazing against guardians bunker), he couldnt run away when MOA simple like that, just need immoibilize/crippled/stun/chilled and then full burst on him, no one could survive to 10s without be able anything reason why on batle kylo on treb almost any mesmer were using MOA instead time warp.
now a MOA guy is almost impossible to kill because when activated last skill he just disappear from map, seem a rocket bird with nitro on is kitten
after MOA nerf never saw again a mesmer using it because is useless and time warp now is better for all situation even for 1vs1
a thief using unload while blinded misses the first attack,
a mesmer using illusionary duelist while blinded misses all the attacks.That’s more then reason for it to be unbalanced.A thief using cloak and dagger while blinded misses the attack, and loses 6 out of 12 of the base initiative they have (global cooldown).

That’s more than reason for it to be unbalanced.See what I did there? All classes are hurt by Blind whenever they use an ability that is affected by it the most. For Mesmers, it happens to be Illusions. Stop acting like all classes are the same when you compare a multi-hit ability when blinded. unload and phantasm duelist are basically the same, both channel sklill, both same range….i think anyone know both classes can see this.

The fact you treat your illusions are summons says a lot about how much experience you have playing the class. Mechanically they behave more like ranged attacks, and if you treat them as such your play-style will benefit greatly from it instead of trying to herd phantys around like a minion master.
and if treat mesmer illusion as a simple weapon atack says a lot about how muck experience you have playing other classes.
illusion arent summons but are even far from be simple weapon atacks compared other classes.
So tossing an auto when you have blindness to get rid of it, like a smart person is too much effort?
you must be some of those top qualify points player, if you dont im sure if i fight you you will miss lot of non atack weapons for blind….
maybe because the position of conditions/boons icons on this game is very bad? have 0 costumization so if you want check conditions you need to look down and be a split of second without see the real fight where you can miss a dodge.
that isnt even the point, no other class have so much penalization with blindess compared mesmer, no one can denie this.
a necro blinded still can put marks on ground, still can cast Life Transfer for example. warrior can still cast HB when are blinded.
so why phantasm duelist that work pretty much work like any channeling skill if mesmer are blind cant even land one hit??
if arenanet want make phanstam be like any other weapon class skill than make it work that way, for example make a phantasm duelist only miss first hit like any other channel skill, cast blind on channeling is useless so for mesmer should be too not miss the all skill because that only happen with mesmer.
if someone say mesmer phantasm work like any other class weapon atack i can only think they never play other classes

the proper build? tell me what is a mesmer proper build to use on tournamnets? anyone know is the shatter build with berserker amulet. yu can die in less 2 s against a thief but id by far the best build to kill them, if you put a soldier amulet you will die for a good thief for sure because you will mitigate a bit more damage and have more vit but your damage will be o low that you will end die for a thief.
stun breaks? some are pretty much useless, anything that dont give you block/invulnerability/teleport will not prevent you from escape burst damage. for example mesmer decoy dont do much as a BS, because you need use decoy and dodge after it to escape insane burst damage.
blink is much better compared decoy but why do you think almost any mesmer on tournaments use decoy? you need something to rest call target on you and decoy inst use much as BS but as a defensive skill, you see for example a thief going tealth you enter stealth too. decoy many times are use as offensive skills, for example you see a thief but he didnt see you you use decoy go near him and do the mesmer combo and he will die.
because you have only 3 utility skills and you are a mesmer you MUST have portal, so only left 2 utility skills. you need something to remove conditions and give team support so you need to have null field, only left 1 utility skill. decoy or blink, as i said for some reason most of mesmer use decoy instead blink for some reason
so nope, your theory about use a proper build to avoid insane burst isnt possible on this game since most of classes only have 1 great build.
be able to kill anyone with 1-2s is just stupid on this game, on other hand you have classes that will last forever on 1vs1.
i still play the game (pvp only) and i think if arennaet change lot of things we will get a amazing pvp game (love combat system)but those things are taking to much and almost all pvp playerbase already left game.
btw the cam is still having lot of problems and is the most important fact that make some fights very confused, camera on this game is just stange
they need change things on pvp and need to be quick
as i said everything was on same after patch beside bunker elementalist. warrior still are very undesire to tournaments, ranger are completly crap and elementalist now dont have any good build.
they did to elementalist the same thing they did to necro after BW1…. a full nerf, but seem that for you this balancing the game. the game cant be balanced because have thousand of major class bugs period!!
you keep saying guardian bunker received a huge nerf (is a minor nerf…) and lot of bugs were corrected. serious for example go look necro last patch you call that lot of bug fixes? are you joking? go see mesmer and search for whyLoS is so crap now and no one use GS anymore, they just turn something that was OP and full nerf it making obstructeds even if mesmer have clear sign and they include on that “LoS fix” a ninja nerf to a phantasm.
at this rate the game need like 3-4years to remove most of class bugs, but for you seem arenanet is working great.

Ele bunkers were rampant and broken. They’ve been more or less fixed (some would say they were broken in the other direction). Guardian bunkers received a huge nerf that brought them back in line with the other classes. Mesmer LoS issues were fixed, which was a huge issue. Countless bugs were fixed, allowing classes to actually start to work as intended. Downed health was adjusted. A new map was added. That’s just some of what was changed.
It’s pretty clear you don’t have the slightest clue for what you’re talking about.
were OP now are useless, so no one now is using elementalist bunker. this is what fix mean to you? make useless the only elementalist build to tournaments?

mesmer LoS was fixed? you really dont have any clue about what is happening on this game. go check please on mesmer topic what that “LoS fix” introduce on mesmer gameplay…

agree. combat is great but as you say they are just wasting the pvp mpotential of game.

Both large updates we have received there has been new things given to sPvP. Maybe not the features we needed most and probably not the features you wanted but they are clearly working on their PvP go play another game for a few months and come back.

you say me to wait 3 months? lool. thay is was people say on the game release with insane class bugs, they said: " give them time, they will correct bugs" " is normal MMORPG have lot of bugs on release" etc etc
so now already passed some months since release and if someone leave the game after first day release and came today back they event notice any change on spvp, 90% of things are the same.
at this rate 3 months are not even close to them make it almost bug free, bugs are normal on MMORPG those insane class bugs arent, we are talk about thousand of them!!!! how they can balance a game if every class have such amount of bugs on trait/skills??
the are lyers period. custom arena will be up soon, this was already more than 1 month ago….what “soon” mean to arenanet? soon=2 months/3months/1 year???
those custom servers i dont even wanted but just to see how much time they need to make them available make be see that other things will take forever to happen.
events that we have a lot, useless events since is a lagg fest on all servers and PvE/WvW/PvP still we have them. let see what they change on HoM make a bit snow and other craps, just to spend more time in useless things.
people that are on HoM are pvp guys they couldnt care less about have some snow, santa and other craps they just want a good pvp system.

team who makes events is different then team who cares about SPVP, your point is invalid, if they dont do event, they wouldnt work on SPVP more, they would make something else what is in their team work…
how is invalid? let me check:
1-> everytime events happen sPvP became unplayable, so events have direct impact on sPvP
2-> class bugs are the same on PvE or PvP, so anyone must correct them dont care if is the pvp team (2 guys !!!) or the pve team, the bugs exist and are thousand so if they are spend time to crerate new content obvious have less people to correct bugs and that is pretty obvious since everytime they make a new event the bug fixes take a long pause. in fact i was wonder why the next bug fixes was taking so much…..answer again is a new event coming
3-> loading bug maybe isnt so important for PvE but still this bugs is global and affect everyone
so everytime exist new content bugs dont get fixed, so ya i can say they just want easy money and dont care much about players, who the hell prefer new heavy laggy/bug events instead make the base game free of bugs and enjoyable?
e-sport forget it because clearly is IMPOSSIBLE this game became a e-sport like arenanet want and that was one of most important thing of this game,. if they made this gamne a e-sport that have atracted lot and lot of pvp players, since anyone do pvp can see easy that is impossible lot of them are already leave the game.

look arenanet just dont care about sPvP, they dont balance alost anything and most important still exist thousand of bugs, the loading bug isnt even correct, something that destroy completed tournaments look that isnt even a priority to these arenanet guys.

LOOOL. you know 90% of pvp players are newbies right? already lot of people are leaving spvp because of thieves, hot join is full of them.
mesmer can burst someone very quick but the diference is your steal is defensive and not insane offensive like thief; you need to have 3 clones up (if you have only 2 you lost a good amount of damage); you need to immoblize/stun enemy otherwise if you see ilussion coming to you you just need to dodge, is a pretty obvious animation and most important mesmer can only stealth one time every 32s ( no one use torch on tournamnets ) thief can do 3-4 stealth each fight without any problem.
other thing thief can run from a fight very easy, mesmer cant unless have portal.
yap, i think anyone can see those thief burst are removing pvp “noobs” from game, anyone can go hot join and see team with lot of thieves.
so maybe the game is full of noobs on pvp but you need those guys so you can do pvp, in fact if GW2 PvE/WvW wasnt so popular no doubt this game was dead since spvp is so much unfriendly to new guys.
let me see im a new guy thatr want to do some spvp. let me try hot join what happen? 5vs5 just dont work because is never 5vs5.
let me join a map with 10/16 to avoid the zergs, what happen? for sure you will encounter a good amount of thieves with backstab build, i see a thief palyer and im go try kill him, in 2s you are dead, wow…this was super fun no doubt. again i see a thief (remember im a new to game) bam bam im dead again. no other class can do this only thief, warrior HB? those guys have obvious animations and HB isnt only 1hit so you have lot of time to avooid hit.
so hot join is a thief fest so im out of it. let me see waht options i have. hey free torunaments 5vs5? wow this sound great. let me join with random guys.
you have a random team but other is a guild team so your team will just be smash and most probabbly will not even be able to hit 100 points.
so please explain where those noobs can learn how to play pvp? against golem that dont atack or against NPC that do the same thing over and over again?
hot join is the place where people suppose learn play is class before go tournaments, but because HJ is full of thieves that can kill those noobs in 1-2s they cant learn much.
noobs, nabs whatever you want call them is what make spvp of this game working, you remove them and instantly you have almost no one on hot join, basically the population of gw2 spvp is reduced to nothing and obvious arenanet will focus even more in PvE/WvW.
other thing, a thief immobilize evade atacks with disabling shot must be the most ridiculous thing i ever see on MMORPG. the guys is immobilize use the skills and dont move from place stil he is evading atacks.
let see, dodge dont work on immobilize guys but for some reason leaps do. even more strange is this ok for arenanet…..see a guy immoblize do a leap skilk that dont move the guys from place (because is immoblize) and for some magical reason he is evading atacks, obvious this is working as intended
The only viable option to all of you who want another nerf on the Thief, is to get rid of initiative and just put cooldowns. Now this is a HUGE change and I doubt Anet will do it since there is SO much integrated with initiative. All i can say is change your current build to absorb all that damage to reduce the initiative or just use a MESMER. ive played both Mesmer and Thief.
ps. Clones = wasted initiative = Mesmer win
clones = wasted initiative???!!!! you must fight some really newbies thieves, i bet those thieves even use steal when some necro put all marks on ground around him. this thieves are easy to klll the good ones if you dont see them appear you are 90% dead.
call target will be on you forever unless you have some steal skill, as a mesmer you probably just have one steal skill (utility) so any good thief know easy where is the real mesmer.
even if thief didnt use call target you cant to sides or back because illusions dont move like that and you are very easy to spot, obvious against newbie players they will atack everything that moves and dont even know to dodge our simple combo to kill them.
if you are a mesmer and run canon glass build (wich most of us use) you can be killled in 1-2s, any good thief will not gonna confused you with clones…..

if i was new to game and join some hot joins to play pvp in 1-2 days i just have leave the game forever, is almost insane the quantity of thieves we see on hot join and for some reason thief must love others thieves because if a team have 2-3 thieves they will be all together and that is just a nightmare and take all fun from hot join that is the only way new player can do spvp
go free tournament with pugs? out of question unless you have lucky and fight another random team otherwise you will be completly smash.

everytime arenanet decide to make events sPvP just got massive lag and absurd bugs like random crash, or stuck on HM loading forever.
serious if you cant handle those events dont make them.
arent PvP servers separated from PvE servers?
one more thing, before start change class skills/traits you need first fixed the thousand of class bugs still exist, without those fixes you cant balance the game…..
I got hit for 7k + today w/ 1700 toughness. I have nothing that hits for 4k, period. I am not saying overpowered, I’m not going to cry, but you seriously think its ok?

no one play warrior rifle on tournaments!!! is a useless build and you will die very easy for any class, a thief will gonna kill you in seconds.
rifle is for WvW and PvE ,any team with warrior rifle is a team with 1 less player because that build is just useless on tournaments
i play as mesmer and obvious i have berserker amulet, a thief that appear from nowhere can actually kill me in 1s, the steal will hit me for 7-8k and backstab for around 10k and im dead, this in 1s, dont exist any other class can do this to me.
dont came now say you are a mesmer you have invulnerable and other things to avoid that burst, yes we have if we are expecting the thief, if you are on a fight and the thief appear sudenly you just dont have time to react to that kind of burst. dont know any other class can kill someone in 1s. i coudl use souldier amulet as a mesmer but for some reason 90% mesmer use berserker amulet and 20-20-30 points traits because is by far the best build we have, is like have a thief with soldier amulet, who want a thief/mesmer with soldier amulet on tournament?
warrior rifle? those guys are a joke for any mesmer but is very rare to find any warrior rifle on tournaments, even in hot join is hard to find them, on tournaments i dont evem remember the last time i saw a warrior rifle build….

class is so dead that guardian is the only class any teamnon tournaments must have ( beside mesmer on batle kylo), most of them even have 2 guardians.
at least 1 guardian any team MUST on tournaments if they want be any good
please arenanet make this skill cast on enemy target, if nothing is selected than cast where you enter DS like is now.
this traits already have a big internal CD, is a weak version of enfeebling blood so at least make it a bit usefull, now most of time is just useless
