70-80% is not that many (lowest hp-pool) how it looks like^^
hp pool means absolutely nothing
Indeed, spamming ability that heals you (and dmgs the foe) in the other hand… -_-
Not only the d/d, but i noticed tons of eles abusing their water habilities healing to 70, 80% hp…. Have they got buffed this previous patch?
/shrug
nvm, i think rending strikes worth more.
idk in pvp that all depends on how reliably you are procing it and how often and how many stacks. I like that trait when it procs though. Sometimes it will not reliably proc for me and when it does worst case scenario i get 1 stack. So i decided not to use it in PVP.
I’ve tested, it seems i got a dps increase since im using assassin stats on swords, and with the #4 ofhand critting too im often seeing stacks along with the bleeds.
Im not sure if weapon stats count for pvp? i guess not, but at least, on “psychological side” is working. (sorry if this term is weird to you, not a english guy here)
I see, when im’ moa’d, i havent seen the description on skills.. haha, nice to know #5 can be a los.
Thanks guys.
I have forgotten the existence of this ability, even playing a mesmer since day1, but recently, I noticed almost “every” mesmer, like 80% using this in Spvp, okay, its a class ability, ppl are using to help their team win the match.}
Although, do ppl realise that this is a “win button” right? i mean, how doesnt Anet gives a way to “break” it ? I know it has a long cd, and if the mesmer dont kill you or almost got you killed in Moa Morph you can turn the fight, but its really impressive the thought, “Hey, i have no skill, so i’ll use this Moa Morph to win” :P
Unless you use for trolling, you’re bad for not wanting a challenge :P
Sry my English.

Furious speed is Perma swiftness. Its a 10sec swiftness with a 10 sec ICD… I use furious speed in my skull crack build. Helps alot having perma swiftness in a fight either to chase down kiters or to run away.
So, you think i should drop Warrior Sprint to get Furious Speed?
I was thinking, 33% is the maximum of speed right? i was thinking about get Furious Speed, and dropping Warrior Sprint for something else, like signet mastery…
You guys think Furious Speed a good deal?
I see Olba, thanks a lot for that tips.
So, i’ve tried to run the builds in here, used to GS/Bow, the stantard 2/0/6/0/6 build, and guess what? after playing with the builds from the thread, then I just replaced GS for Dual swords for the stantard build, idk, but it seems working better for me than having the 5 points in Arms…
Am i Crazy???
As far as I can see, 2 in Strength doesn’t do much for a Sword. Also, Burst Mastery on a power based Sword isn’t that exciting either, since Flurry is very situational.
It is true that the Arms tree has some excellent weapons for a condi-based sword, but it’s also got Critical Burst, Attack of Opportunity, Blademaster and Opportunist, all of which are excellent for Sw+X/LB.
I run 0/6/5/0/3 with Sw+Sh/LB in WvW with a power build. I choose Furious over Burst Mastery because that replenishes me to full adrenaline faster.
and btw, Final Thurst is a pain to land…. -_- Really in doubt now if i stay with GS or stick with Dual Swords…
You have all kinds of tools to land it:
- Shield
- Flurry
- Pin Down
If you were to run Sw+X/Hammer, you’d have a fairly easy time landing Final Thrust due to all the CC on Hammer.
One thing to remember about Final Thrust is that is cleaves. Which is awesome.
Oh, i dont use burst mastery, i got that trait who gives you 15+ crit on full adrenal…
I found myself playing better with a sword in oh instead of shield… i’ll try to replace LB for the Hammer, as bored as i am with it… maybe the playstyle fits better.
And thanks, i’ll try this 0/6/5/0/3 build…. Have you tested the new trait? Dual Wield Agi ?

Please give us more weapon options.
Flails, two handed axes, bow Guardian, etc, etc…
Bow Guardian? This is as ridiculous as warriors having staves! -_-
We indeed need more options, but pls, lets keep the sense for roles.
Guys, in your opinion, whats the most annoying class you have trouble fighting?
Thieves? Necros? Guardians? Mesmers? another Warriors?
Name it!
For me, its the godkitten Thieves…
Whats yours?
i run a Power PU build
I hope it without torch? If with – throw out it and equip pistol -> no more problems with anybody
Actually, the set is Scepter/Pistol and Sword/Torch…. i find this way more effective than GS.
Its not usually, but there are some warriors that gives me some kind of trouble, i run a Power PU build, Osicat Hidden Cat, usually i have no problems in 1v1 with almost every class, only some Engs and Warriors that really gives me headeche.
What you guys think? Its a L2P issue?
Hammer/GS, Mace/GS and Axe/GS are all very good dueling builds that have it’s different strengths. GS/LB probably isn’t as good as these builds in dueling but it has it’s different strengths and upsides.
Hammer has a lot of different CC while being highly damaging
Mace is very defensive while having great CC
Axe has a lot of raw damage/burst pressure
Longbow allows for ranged pressure, mild condi pressure, OK burst and on demand condi clearBetween the top 3 I mentioned, it is hard to say which one is better because it is more dependent on how you play it and who you are fighting. Me personally I prefer Hammer/GS for dueling.
Also I like to go 10/0/30/0/30 on most of my builds. The 10 in Strength for extra power, Reckless Dodge and the Power conversion into Vit. 30 Into Defense for a hella lot more toughness, survivability and a decent damage boost (even more so if you use hammer). If you don’t use the hammer trait, Defy Pain and Last stand are decent alternatives. 30 into discipline obviously for fast hands, more damage. I have been running Heightened Focus a lot recently instead of Burst Mastery. Adrenaline isn’t too hard to generate and the GS burst is rarely used. So that is an extra 15% crit chance for free and makes up for the lack of precision because of the zero point in arms.
Going 30 into strength, while probably more powerful doesn’t leave you a whole lot of room for options. You will either go 30/0/20/0/20 or 30/0/25/0/15 those are your only two options. You drop either Armored Attack or Destruction of the Empowered, both which increase your DPS quite a bit. If your enemy has 5 boons on them that = 15% extra damage you get from DotE, basically the same as berserker’s power. If you go 30/0/20/0/20 (which I probably would if I am investing 30 into strength), you will hit like an absolute mack truck. Especially with the GS or Axe.
With that said, if you are going 30 into Strength, it synergizes best with an Axe/GS build. With a Hammer, Mace or Longbow/GS build it isn’t as good.
Going 30 into discipline offers you more options, you could go 10/0/30/0/30, 20/0/20/0/30, 15/0/25/0/30, 0/10/30/0/30 or 0/0/30/10/30. After testing all of these combos, I believe 10/0/30/0/30 is the best setup.
You have comparable power to going 30 into Strength because of Armored Attack with the luxury of still having DotE. You basically trade 15% more damage for 15% extra crit chance. The 25 minor trait in discipline allows you to keep perma 2-3 stacks of might with Runes of Strength, better than the 3% damage increase in 25 in strength. But most importantly you are a hell of a lot more survivable. You will get about 1.5K extra HP from going 10 into Strength, more toughness/healing power, either an extra defy pain/balanced stance if you don’t run hammer build which is absolutely a game changer.
Running 30 in defense is pretty much a must in hammer builds so you can’t go 30 into strength unless you want to lose fast hands, so 30 into discipline is simply the better option.
I hope this helps.
I see, was testing 20/0/20/0/30 , with gs/lb , ill test, 10/0/30/0/30 to see, ty a lot!
What would do more dmg? a build focused on 6 points in Strengh or 6 points in Discipline?
Do your part as a player, and right click on the name of the goldseller, report it.
Now, srsly Anet, couldn’t you be a little more darting at creating the difference in npcs?
:P
stacking… this!!!! if there is a thing that annoys me the most, is the stacking “strategy” just to kill a boss “ezly”…
The Fun factor in fightes like these is lost…
Yes, this is true, seems that Anet love jokes, and they’re pretty fun in the game, however, when i found this, i was like WTF?!
Could this Bear be one of the ones who evolved into Koda?
I see, i’ve been testing with stomp, im doing a lil better with this utility, it opens some window to land some strikes from 100b or for some running to catch a breath… although, i realised, that Thieves are just the “counter” for Warriors…
I really, really dont want to come back to hammer… hehe.
Thank you all for the feedback fellas!
I know devs must focus on “important” things, but GW2 really could use more emotes, there are few, i wanna see things like /roar , /clap… and so on…
What about a /scream ? , like the scream we hear when you fall from high ground, and the bug when u zone from a portal its hilarious hear the ppl screaming.
Just for humor Anet!
Power PU, my rotation, pistol #4 + scepter #3, scepter #2, pistol #5 (swap) torch#5, Sword #3+3 Sword #2, torch #4 … Enemy is at 40% or less and desperate already ran blowup cd’s healed, screaming WTF?! , target you….
Blink, Decoy, repeat, dance.
You channel a confusion skill for three seconds and your opponent doesn’t just run at you and dumpster you?
What
This is when i “open” the fight, sometimes i interrupt the duration of the scepter #3 channeling with #2 to do not get a punch in da face.

just tested, yet, GS/LB fits better to my playstyle, the lack of mobility is too gamebreaker to me, whirlwind evade is kinda strategic, helps a lot, and LB aoe save my kitten 50% of the time. Really sad… lol
what about Axe-SH /LB ? Would that be viable for duels?
I just can’t decide if i stick with GS/Axe-Shield or GS/LB, axe is really beautiful with all the pressure, but LB shines when u gotta get the aoe to deal with Eng’s Turrets, Clones or Thieves Guild.
I see, guess need more practicing, thanks guys, i dont want to come back to mesmer again :P
He was talking about removing the trait from the game entirely.
Yes i was talking about removing the trait, but stating that this trait is very bad on PVP wise!
Although, removing it and raising vengeance duration and higher chance for the proc, could be way more benefical than having the trait slotted.
So, there was this teleporting thieve that is just a pain in the kitten when im on my warrior, i play GS/Bow focused on Mobile Strikes, but i just can’t beat them.
On Mesmer i have easier time when having these encounters, but i love my warrior…
Any clue what should i do?
(edited by pupi.2465)
one of the coolest things i find in GW2 is downed state, every other game should have it, you reach 0 health, you go down, almost dead, and you have a chance to survive, its awesome!
Personally, I would never run Sweet Vengence in a PvP scenario. It is far too situational and is used in only one situation (when you kill someone while vengenced). That means you’ll hardly be using that trait. Just because it is a master trait, doesn’t mean its worth is that of a master trait. I personally would take a number of the adept traits and master traits over sweet vengence, because they are in far more constant use.
I think I dont need to say more, Syde, im pretty sure that a lot of ppl share these feelings, unbelievable there are ppl who use it.
You say about justify nerfs/buffs based on opinion, i guess you forget we’re playing a massive multiplayer game, opinions is the most we will get, and even the decisions on nerfs and buffs in the game, are based on “opinions” by feedback, thats why forums are, for discussion, yet, you have your poi, i have mine, if you’re happy good for you, i just went write this down because some devs read the forums, if they’re going to change it or not in the future, i did my part as a player.
No thank you. I love my “Sweet Vengeance” trait. It can turn the fight around.
You do realise if they get rid of the Trait and do the changes (or near it) above like I suggested it could be better than having your “100% sweat veng” only in a kill right?
I like the feature too, but wasting things like Signet Mastery, Mobile Strikes… etc for a 100% veng is dumb. Very very bad trait.
Signet mastery does not compete with “Sweet Vengeance” because it is an adept trait. And “Sweet Vengeance” is a master trait. Instead of saying “this trait sucks” try giving a valid reason as to why the trait is worthless. The trait guarantees that you get out of downed state by yourself if you kill someone. That’s a pretty good trait to me.
“If you kill someone”… otherwise, the trait is worthless and offers you nothing but a guarantee on keeping you alive after Vengeance, of course, in pve this chance is way higher, and maybe you’re defending it on pve wise, my concern is pvp, and this Trait pvp wise, im sorry bobomb, its garbage. Even an adept trait offer you more in fights.
I am talking PvP wise. I play a zerk build so I suppose I may find it easier to kill someone quickly and stay alive than a condi bunk build. I am sorry pupi but you still haven’t given a valid reason as to why it is bad. You also say “nothing but a guarantee on keeping you alive after Vengeance” like that is nothing? Staying alive doesn’t matter anymore I suppose? I don’t think matches are won by laying on the floor in the defeated state now are they?
Of course, i agree staying alive is the most important for a capture point, but if you are in a duel for a capture point at the end of a disputed round, sweet vengeance replaced for a -20% cd’s on signets, mobile strikes, sharpened axes (if you use them) or DoE, make your chances in that duel to “stay alive” and not comming downed way because of the benefits these traits gives you “during the fight”, and not only when you’re virtually dead.
Any skilled player, won’t let the warrior get up on Vengeance, unless someone from your team comes help.

I tried to post this on suggestion forums, but it didnt let me for some reason saying i had no permission, so i’ll post here.
I think Anet should get rid of the Vengeful Trait, no one use this because of the benefits the other ones bring, also, I dont know the threshold the proc happens after killing an oponent while Vengeance downed skill was used, maybe its 50/50, it could be raise a bit more, like 70 or 80%, or raise the duration to 20 seconds instead of 15, to compensate the hard work of getting the HP of someone to zero and stomping it (pvp).
Take a look on this.

I see Warlord, you think “Throw Bolas” could be a better option instead Kick?
Hello fellow warriors, im comming here ask what you think of this build, could it be viable to 1v1 in general?, i’ve been testing in Spvp, but its very situational, so i would like feedback from veteran warriors.
The goal, is to be the most mobile possible (breaking immobilizes) with GS and dealing dmg.
I know “Kick” isnt a really good utility at all, but it servers as a imobilize breaker too, although i see Signet of Might replacing it too for the dps.

I had almost all Rare Dyes, and yet only got the ones my main already had, in alts i had Midnight Ice and Celestial Dye, what now Anet? -_-
Just wanted to know, is PU build worth yet after this patch? Also, with the reset on traits, i forgot how to do it again, 30 points to chaos line to get the PU trait, and rest ? Where is it again??
Been using so long that build, i forgot the rest. If any1 could lend a hand i’ll be thankfull.
what for? Trait resets are already being for free anywhere, that would be useless.
Never heard of convenience?
Never heard of getting out of laziness ?
Open World PvP, thats it! Yeah i know “omg another of those threads”, but we need it, at least, will be something more for players to do.
what for? Trait resets are already being for free anywhere, that would be useless.
almost 100 views and no opinions? c’mon ppl, no one would like that?
Here how it works:
10 players, duels happens in order of joining (ie the first two players), the remaning awaits in a queue, one round per duel with a duration of 5 min or til one looses, the winner stays for the next challenge, looser go to the end of the queue.
The combatants awaits outside the “arena circle” (cage, coliseum, glass, etc) watching the fight, or in spectator mode.
Map duration for 30 min, or a player winning 10 times.
This mode can be seem on
