Production and reveals, sadly, aren’t based around order of Kadsik’s preference. Better luck next week, bud.

Another stance that does no damage. Is Anet trying to bring the trinity to life with Revenant, or just deliberately gimping them so no group wants them?
Shiro is the damage one, best to wait. Also, sword hasn’t been fully “announced” nor finalized, which is where the damage will come in. Each legend has a purpose. Jalis is tanky, Corruption is utility/condition, Ventari is Support and healing and Shiro is DPS. There’s Glint, too, but I’m not sure what that is. Maybe a more defined utility-based legend.
Also, the “trinity” may become fairly real in the sense that players will have the option to be healers if they dedicate toward it. You can already see this with the engineer reworks, Bannershout warriors, and Ventari Staff or shield Revenants.
I wouldn’t worry about it though, options are good. People will still likely prefer to just go full zerker and dps their way through content. Personally, I find that as a shame, because it’s boring, but I doubt it’s going away so I wouldn’t get too worked up over it.
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
No more conquest maps. 2v2 please. Lets get serious about this now that they’ve had their fun adding a bit of a “GvG” feel to the game, time to cash in where it really counts!

What part of same amount of information is hard to grasp? Full set of utilities, a trait tree and a weapon. Literally the same amount of info that elites give. The only thing special about elite specializations are minor mechanical changes to the base and that they are mutually exclusive to future elites. This is a sufficient amount of info for a brand new class that should be handled in parts so that it can be thoroughly discussed.
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
Called it… So there you go. Revenant, a specialization and a weapon. Same as any other reveal. Even had a feeling it was staff because it was just updated. No more silly debate:
It’s not even an elite specialization. Not the same as any other reveal. It’s just a single normal specialization with a support weapon that matches the traits, like Greatsword and Strength for warrior. We don’t even get the name for this specialization.
Very let down by this. It’s just pointless filler. Multiple specializations, weapons, the elite specialization, Druid or “Difficult PvE content” would be better. This is barely a step above a Maguuma Centaur lore drop.
It’s all new. It provides just as much new unique information as the previous reveals. Your lack of care for revenant has little weight considering they will be revealing the same amount of info. It takes a while to reveal things in depth and of any class deserves the time, it’s the one that people have the least experience with.

Only disadvantage it has, and it’s super annoying, is that when still (see: immobilized) it doesn’t turn you. A really clunky control mechanic if you as me. I asked about it but they said it’s too taxing. I’m not sure, most games including WoW etc allow you to turn with your mouse when still with the mouse. Probably one of my biggest annoyances with the games controls. Beyond that though it’s really the only way to turn efficiently.
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
Lol and here comes the thieves defending stealth caltrops. Classic.
Yep, those dirty, little thieves! It’s not as though they are limited to just a few seconds of stealth… or one dependable method of condition clearing… or the smallest base health pool in the game.
My goodness, you’d think that they believed you could actually see their location by AoE rings left behind by caltrops!
The sneaky, little buggers even claim to be as squishy as the skritt bombers they try to bleed to death instead of the tanky lord-like beings they truly are!
Rumor has it that the thief profession was based on Chuck Norris, and I believe it. After all, only a thief has the power to kill another thief! I would petition for a nerf, but it has been scientifically proven that such a thing is hazardous for your health!
You seem desperate. I’ll let you get back to your ninjas, but it wouldn’t hurt caltrops to get a damage component to not allow it to be stealth spammed. There’s a reason they gave it to choking gas. Cheap is cheap. You’ll be alright without it, I’d imagine.

Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
All they need to do (and they DO need to do) is add like a minior 100 damage to the laying of the caltrops so you can’t spam it in stealth. I abused this in my comp last SH and it’s super cheese mode. Not to mention being able to stack conditions while stealthed shouldn’t be allowed regardless. (Unfortunately mesmers can do it too, but are much less effective when doing so, so it’s not as much of a problem.)
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
It’s not likely to happen to become baseline. As I’ve explained with people wanting Fast Hands baseline, there’s no such thing as class-specific passives. Classes have no intuitive design for passive benefits that aren’t tied to traits or directly to the weapons. Everything that went baseline required no introduction in that they were just buffing abilities to be less trait dependent. Bonus speed on a weapon set just simply isn’t intuitive.
Not trying to be a pain, but it just isn’t likely in this way.
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
I love Stronkhold. So the statement is false. Also, as said, bugged que. I was getting 3-4 min ques even with partial teams.
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
And the only thing that can directly counter that kind of stability use is boon corruption that instantly turns the stability into an interrupt, hint hint wink wink.
Or traited Steal
I’m not going to lie though, I always found that to be one of the corniest traits/set ups. Just literally ignores mechanics and goes for the moon. I’ve learned to live with it I guess, at least ours pulses…
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
It’s not game breaking, but its super annoying and sometimes is the reason you die.
Like trying to teleport onto a ledge, but the nameplate gets in the way, so you use your shadowstep on your feet. I love those momentsI dont really get what you mean? I think I never had this before although I main Thief..
I just posted a video of exactly what has been meant by all of this.
Here’s a video of the problem UI is causing for ground targets. This also happens on the map, skillbar and probably any other clickable unit.
Watch the video. The mouse being over the UI elements interrupt ground placement.

I can only assume something that uses a scepter.

I like threads like this because we can nerd out about UI polish.
I agree nameplates should better display team colors and classes. Sometimes it’s hard to tell what profession someone is when they are wearing outfits, or you’re new to the game and haven’t learned all the spell effects yet.
By default, only your targeted or hovered players show nameplates. Is this still too in-the-way? The nameplates themselves don’t have mouse detection, things just have large interact radii. And when your’e ground targeting, you should be able to still click on the ground just fine through people, so maybe there’s a bug?
He means the giant name at the top of the screen
The UI element with the character image, name, guild name at the top of the screen interferes with mouse clicks, if you try and fire a long range ground-targetted ability, or use one above you where that picture/name/guild name area is, you then use the ability at your feet.
I made a video showing what he means. I’ll link it when it’s done uploading.
Another note, I wish they’d make it so that right click still turns your body when immobilized or standing still like it does while moving or casting so you can efficiently turn around when immobilized without having to keyboard turn. Some moves don’t turn your body when you aren’t facing your enemy, it just cancels the spell, which really adds to the immobilize frustration.

I miss Sharp. He was the best with actually communicating and discussing community ideas. No one has been close to him in those regards. It became much harder to care and share information once he was gone because it all felt like it was hitting deaf ears. But hopefully HoT will just prove that wrong and prove its just less communication. If the job still gets done, at the end of the day I’m fine with it.

We already knew this anyways beyond this statement. Q3 projections are high which basically means Summer release.

After hearing him say it himself with buying the game being a barrier, I really believe launching a f2p PVP-only mode with a better MMR system and tutorial would be amazing for the PVP community’s growth. And even potentially money when increasing investment toward a game could lead to more gem sales from more players and potential box sales that would have otherwise been completely ignored. GW2 has such a unique position to offer such a system as their PVP already doesn’t require leveling or gearing up, I think it’s something they should consider.
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
ANET said " Warrior Rely on Speed" when describing Warrior
Since almost every profession will get passive +25% speed despite the stealth, ranged attacks and teleports, Warrior should get passive swiftness as Baseline to make ANET statement true.
Relying on and having it passive are not the same thing. Warriors have a lot of access to swiftness and several leaps. They DO have speed. So they aren’t wrong.
And for the billionth time, Fast hands is only “mandatory” because its so kitten powerful. Anyone with access to it would say they “need” it. That’s not the reason things are being made baseline.
Also, you’re asking for hidden passives to be made baseline. That isn’t how baseline works. Anything made passive were changes to core abilities to make them more usable and not reliant on traits to be used. No where in the game is there class-specific passives that would justify Fast Hands or warriors sprint, it would be incredibly un-intuitive, where as making a weapon shoot faster baseline or throw all grenades baseline for grenade skills are just adjustments to their abilities that make them less reliant on traits.
I really don’t think you guys understand how this “baseline” stuff works and are just trying to seize the opportunity for freeby buffs. Like I’ve said, Warrior is my second most played class by a LOT, and sure, it’s incredibly hard to not want to take, but making it passive isn’t the answer. If anything, be happy its at least a minor so it doesn’t lock any of the choice locations like Cleansing Ire does. That’s the real elephant in the room.
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
I don’t think it should have reduced cooldown but I do think it should do more than just 10 vuln.
This is where I am, too. Personally I like the idea of reveal specifically because it calls out a target, but I could see other meaningful additions too.
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
Yes they are fully supportable. I ran shoutbow escort last open beta.
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
Druid and Ranger don’t even categorize close to one another. Doesn’t make sense as to why people even speculate this.
Uh. Besides the fact that they kind of do in gw2, there’s the fact that Druid has already been officially announced as Ranger’s elite.
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
All previous specialization announcements have had an image showing the profession being teased. Unless Revenants or Druids shapeshift into centaurs, I don’t think ArenaNet would break the trend.
That might be true for elite specializations, but they’ll probably show revenant’s remaining base class details before they reveal its elite spec, so it might very well be that.
This is like showcasing the Strength trait line for warrior. Do you really think that deserves its own week?
All specialization are are unique trait lines and utilities (and a weapon).
Revenant is a new class with a unique set of utilities to detail and possibly a trait line in relationshion to it. Really wouldn’t be that different. They could also discuss the datamined and mysteriously recently updated weapons such as sword, shield and staff.

That is Ventari. I think it’s safe to assume it is revenant related.
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
On my Mark is a bad skill hardly anyone uses, why is that not a good enough reason to reduce the cooldown.
Right now in shoutbow, Balanced stance/endurepain/fear me take the third spot….In very rare occasions someone might use on my mark…but I personally never see it. Reducing the cooldown would make it more likely to get picked but it’s still not going to be good enough to always be picked. Defending against stun heavy comps with stab or burst heavy comps with cc…or canceling guard heal with Fear me…is going to be better than a short CD shoutheal a lot of the time.
Because shout bows already don’t need a buff in any shape right now. And I doubt anyone wants opposite “compensation” (aka nerfs) on other shouts just to make way for silly ol “On my mark!” because reducing the cooldown buffs healing and condition removal. Make it a 3 second reveal. Then it might get more use without upsetting healing and conditioning n removal balances.
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
None of this even matters… Your last utility spot is going to be a Banner of Dicipline soon anyways as a shoutbow, so very little sense in trying to milk buffs on an already very potent build.
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
I do wish they’d give Staff some love after numerous kicks in the groin. It went from an incredible support/utility weapon to just sort of “meh” over the years. It’s really sad to me. :/
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
I wish they would bump the exp in PVE exploring and hearts. That IS boring. EOTM is pretty good though.
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
Here’s all the traits I would like to see baseline as I feel it would benefit the core in ways necessary and allow for some more interesting alternatives in their place.
- Spiteful Talisman CD reduction (change the second part of the anti-boon trait to something else).
- Greater Mark’s radius -> move unblockable to the new Soul Marks.
- Flesh of the Master HP boost. Mandatory space hog considering minions in PVP are literally garbage without a bit more HP, and have a crutch boosted HP in pve.
- Blood Thirst, just bake it in, minor boring boost.
- Wouldn’t mind Foot in the grave CC break as baseline. To me it’s fitting as we have no mobility that we have some baseline anti-CC, but it’s just not likely to happen.
- Unyielding Blast Pierce.

A rework of many procs. Rebalance and cast times in many instants. 2v2 annihilation BO3 with an arena that is fairly level with a few los pillars, not a bunch of terrain and junk like in courtyard.

Wouldn’t get too comfortable on only GS. I personally plan on going Staff + Dagger/Focus or Dagger/WH for my reaper.
Unless of course you’re specifically asking for what goes with GS. If thats the case, its hard to say anything but Staff or you might find yourself in Kite City taking a one way train to Pwn-town.
Without a GS it’s not really a reaper, is it?
Sure is. It’s all about that scythe and reapers shroud!

Yeah, as said they exist, but they could be pointed out better. So far what we know is (and some is just speculation):
Mesmer – clock shield and temporal shoulders.
Guardian – dragon gauntlets and dragon how.
Necro – Strange looking GS and reaper hood.
Engineer – Hammer (?) and forging mask.
Ranger – Wooded staff and animal/nature like shoulders.
The rest are still a mystery.
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
wear none metal armor to avoid lighting strike ? :P I agree with you but if they got rid of the passives it would kitten zerk builds even more and everyone would be cele.
Cele is confirmed getting nerfed and in no way does being glass cannon need to always be compensated. It’s been the primary stat choice outside of the occasional condi or cele build. And they have more stats just like cele does over standard 3 stat ammies. If anything both need nerfed anyways, and if they were to do it, nerfing the passive procs would be the best way to handle it imo. Would rather that than keeping the procs and nerfing skillful things.
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
If they ACTUALLY add a bunch of armor sets to the game and keep doing it, this is perfect. I love the idea of having more to unlock and work for in the actual game. But I have a feeling this will not be the case. Some with HoT, and just outfits from then on out is what I fully expect. :/
But if she pulls it off WITHOUT making it a massive terrible grind-fest, they’d instantly become my new favorite ANet employee.
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
Inb4 everyone realizes the bug was just intended to boost GW sales for 10th birthday.
In what world would that make sense?
Not saying I agree with him, but maybe HoM awareness and reward awareness. Especially if they take them away, might get people to go back and actually re-obtain them? Not real plausible though. Tin foil matter, really.
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
That’s the thing with ALL passive procs in this game, not just sigils, but traits too. Unlike, say, swap sigils, where you can waste them by missing, proc sigils are also incredibly safe. They’re “unavoidable” bonus damage with absolutely no tell and can’t have their CDs wasted because they require the hit/crit to even work. Personally, I’m just sad they didn’t take more advantage of this trait rework and actually fix some of the procciness of the game and make traits a bit more interesting.
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)

Two questions. If points are finite, with they add more each time a specialization is released? Also, I cant remember if it was said, but do sub-80 characters get elite specializations in spvp?

I deleted my Norn Female 80 Guardian because hearing “Might makes me right” made me hate the character so bad that playing it was annoying even with sound off just knowing they said it… They need an option to turn those sayings off without turning off all dialogue.
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
I’m not here to argue with people with their finger on the trigger to hate the new system. You can think whatever you want to think. But from a PVP perspective, there are so many things i could have never dreamed of doing before. Simply put, there are more MEANINGFUL variations than there ever was because of the merging of traits and 3 GMs.
I’m not going to get into the argument of where viable and optimal collide because frankly, I don’t care. Optimal means very little because where choice can be made, more than one thing can be optimal at once just in different ways, thats what a trade off is. Feel free to hate it because you’re losing your precious 1/6/6/1 builds or whatever, but the fact is, there are build types and mixtures that were never even conceivable prior to trait merges and 3 GMs.
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
No zone completion in the new Skill/Trait implementation. It is all based on Hero Points (formerly known as Skill Points).
Good luck.
How disrespectful! Didn’t you hear him say he’s been trying to avoid hearing any actual information about the system?
Well he can’t really complain about false/incomplete information and not expect some information.
If it helps, as vague as possible. Build numbers will go down, viable builds will go up. It forces harder decisions. It’s not NEARLY as limiting as WoWs “remake” which actually changed from traits to abilities essentially. The core trait system will still be very familiar after the update. Cool your jets and just try it out first.

The number of viable builds go down.
That is incorrect. The number of ACTUAL viable builds go up. Not the number of “I like to take 100 adepts and call it a ‘unique build’”. Right now diversity is abysmal because half the traits are garbage. This new system also allows them better control, meaning making adjustments to traits lacking increases. This new system also forces harder decisions than the old system.
