Our jumping puzzle strategy scared them all away.

Considering we had a large majority of EB two nights ago, I don’t think we spend that much time at the jumping puzzle. Nobody on our Mumble is that bored, anyway.
I wish MAG would stop losing, I enjoyed fighting them a lot as Tarnished Coast. They are a great bunch of gamers… most didn’t even complain about losing, almost zero q.q posts if any. Either that… or I hope GOON and SFD transfer to a server with more population so we can have our epic brawls.
Yeah I miss fighting Tarnished Coast. My dream bracket right now would be Toast vs Mag vs Fort Aspergewood but we need to maintain our pop and keep building our new guilds and pubbies up first.
I’m not aware of any plans for GOON or SFD to transfer server. Constantly fighting uphill battles makes us better players I guess and you figure once you lose enough, its not the end of the world. Good times.
I’m curious about the tactic where you guys log off and/or alt-f4 when you lose an even fight. Does that make you a better player or just a coward? That’s the part I’m getting stuck on.
That never happens because Darkhaven doesn’t stick around for even fights.
Interesting you say that because it happened at least 3 times to me earlier tonight in back to back fights. They were sporting the lovely [GOON] tag.
But yeah..never happens. I just imagined a guardian disappearing into thin air when his health was about to drop to 0. I wasn’t aware that Anet gave guardians stealth in the patch the other day. My bad.
I was obviously exaggerating in the same way that you consider that an organized tactic. At least, I hope you were exaggerating, considering you made that reply to a pretty unrelated post to be a jerk out of nowhere.

Props to Darkhaven for trying new and interesting siege placement. Might have caused problems if it had built all the way…
Aaaand you guys were so concentrated on trying to take east keep that we took west keep with like 10 people.

A man can dream?
Interestingly, the first and last tiers seem to be the closest matchups.
Eh, I don’t know that I would say it’s more fun, but it’s still a lot of fun. If we’re winning by such a margin that nobody is in WvW in prime time (see tier 2) then of course that’s not fun. I would prefer to have higher participation from morale in a close/winning match.
Maguuma: The guy that uses Wavedash in SSBM. Despite the creator of the game himself admitting Wavedashing was a glitch, there is nothing you can do to stop him due to the limitations of the game.
Please cite where Arena.Net admitted stacking was a glitch. No? I didn’t think so.
Please take the time to call it what it is, and then do a search in these forums/google for it. This has been posted many times. It’s called a “survival stack”. FYI people post about this stack at least once a week calling it an exploit when there are mechanics in this game to counter it. It’s not an exploit just because you are unaware how to counter it.
Now you know what Maguuma has been experiencing this entire matchup.
How is that relevant to this matchup?
If there are 30-40 players stacked at one camp, it’s probably a good indication that your server should find another target to take down. Just sayin’.
Such a dishonorable tactic!
If it’s working as intended then it’s by definition not abuse.
Odd prediction, since I woke up to 66% map control on NSP.
Someone from Darkhaven really likes doing stuff like this.
Also this nice ram against the wall, hmm so nice.
Noooo, you beat me to it. I logged in just to screencap it. Well, mine has someone using it too.

I am not trying to defend commanders that actively try to suck. I’m just saying give new commanders a chance and good advice. Or don’t, you’re not on my server, so I don’t care.
What should and shouldn’t happen has no correlation with what actually happens. Many people buy the book for the status, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re unwilling to learn. We have a few commanders on Maguuma that are similar, but they still take direction from more seasoned commanders with no problem. Sometimes a zerg beacon is very helpful regardless of who’s holding it.
Everyone starts somewhere, maybe you should give him some advice. If he doesn’t listen, go to another map.
I hope you guys embrace the tactic instead of alienating the guilds in the picture.
I would be more inclined to let them feel proud if it was during prime time. I’m not going to knock them for figuring out the X trick, but I’m not remotely impressed.
So we can feel good only if we’re beating other servers in their primetime?
What about servers that day cap us? Are they allowed to feel proud during that time?
Perhaps I miscommunicated. What I meant to say is, feel proud all you want, but don’t expect other people to be impressed. But to answer your other question, I think it is pretty silly to brag about any fight that is so lopsided. But don’t let me stop you from doing that, if you are so inclined.

I hope you stay anyway and that Ninein is right. I’m pretty clueless about PvE. If you’re staying, what name were you going by? Curious.
I may be really tired, but I seriously have no idea what you are asking.
The fact that no one else pointed this out so far paired up with the fact that everyone talks here about how better skilled they/their servers are tactically and it doesn’t have to do with hourly WvW population totally makes sense lol.
Eh, tl;dw video for me. Considering we took a garrison on day one with this exact tactic, I don’t think that omission really matters.
So, just between us, are we still allying against Maguuma because they are evil? I’d like to continue working with GW2’s honorable and elite police task force
You might be sad to hear people from Maguuma spotted Darkhaven using the exact same tactics that were previously being complained about. Your honorable and elite police task force has been corrupted to the dark side.
Of course, I have no screenshots, so I could be making all of this up.
Not like Darkhaven isn’t conservative in advancing into keeps. Last night you were taking west keep on some borderlands and we were all stacked by the altar waiting for you to come in after the trebs breached the inner wall. There must have been at least two times as many of you as there were of us, we made several attempts to try and take down the trebs but there were just way too many. Instead of rushing in you built a catapult on the inner wall and tried to hit us with it. Every commander has different tactics and hindsight is 20/20. That’s all there is to it.
Just like others said the problem is server transfers. We at NSP lose 1 match and people transfer to a wining server. I find it really sad when people do this.
I find it super sad as well. With no true reward at the end of each week save for moving up in the ranks it really kills the whole idea of server pride.
We at Mag may not be winning but had tons of fun battles this weekend!
Meh, Maguuma hasn’t built up server pride around winning. I really think we’ve built up a good community that is proud of what they do despite losing almost every match. I think NSP could learn from that Of course, I could be totally wrong and we might suddenly lose everyone if we sink lower
No big deal. I’m just trying to avoid that part of the thread because it seems rather circular to me.
Second favorite Darkhaven tactic!
Probably it’s the first one.
Ah, Darkhaven, you gave me so many laughs…
I hate that I have to point this out but there are people who have no clue what they are doing on every server.
Just because you got a screen shot of some one doing that it doesn’t mean those kinds of players can only be found on darkhaven.
That’s obviously not what I was implying as you should be able to infer from my post history. I’m just trash talking in a hopefully non-insulting way. Heck, in the last thread I posted a screenshot of us building a flame ram against a wall, and it wasn’t even done as a joke! You have to admit that some people on your server doing silly things with golems at least three times in the past day is pretty funny. And by that I mean send me the gold instead because I’m poor.
fellyn.5083I would also question why a group of Maguuma would be attacking red in EB during prime time en mass when red was attacking us. But that’s an entirely different conversation.
EB is the terrible borderlands of terrible grub killing players. Maguuma formerly apologizes for any of our own players who happen to be inside Eternal Borderlands.
Eh, it’s not like we don’t do stuff like that all of the time. But yes, for the most part our larger community doesn’t go into Eternal Battlegrounds.
Second favorite Darkhaven tactic!
That’s a yellow arrow… That’s YOUR SERVER’S Siege Golem.
Considering we wrecked it, I don’t think so.
Edit: In case you aren’t convinced that a yellow arrow means anything, here is your gate. Surely it isn’t a spy gate.
Oh, I get it now. You’re just jealous of our oddly placed siege weaponry. I bet this screenshot right here makes you wish you were on Darkhaven
I won’t lie, I am a little jealous. And by a little I mean a lot.

I thought they fixed walk through garrison glitches?
I still don’t get where all this criticism comes from. Yes we have a decent night time. We also have a superb daytime.
No you don’t. With the exception of Friday, Mag always has had control of the day time score pretty handily. The issue is, even your most hardcore of players are never on more then 8 hours a day. When you’re asleep or working, that’s 16 hours you’re not online defending anything. And Mag really doesn’t have any night time crew at all to speak of.
This isn’t a complaint, as we have lost every single match up to date due to Mag not being online. We’re quite used to it. But when Mag is online in force, we are almost always gaining points at a furious pace. Our day time crew is beyond reproach… So much so that you DH players are calling them cheaters for using standard tactics.
Is that why we’ve been getting 350~ points a tick for the last 3 hours during prime time to your 150~? (confused)
Your evening population numbers are much better than ours, but not so much mid day.
96/57/40 Darkhaven/Maguuma/NSP. Nice to see SoS is still interested in us~
Let’s please not continue this discussion here, given that there’s an entire thread dedicated to it.
I’m honestly not trying to flame when I say this, but Maguuma has been playing the night capping card pretty much since the reset on Friday, in the originally thread. Even before it actually happened.
And even then, we didn’t just waltz over the map. Every fort/keep/tower we took had a lot of defenders in it.
We play that card quite often…
I don’t think we should care much, myself, but losing just because of timezone differences is kind of lame. I hope Arena.Net comes up with a good solution that still lets everyone play whenever they want while still closing the score gap for times when only one server is playing. Honestly, Darkhaven has a ton of people, and it’s not just at night. It’s 6pm Pacific and you guys are already fielding a ton of numbers that we can’t easily match. That is a significant factor in success.
By the way, my favorite tactic of the day was Darkhaven marching a siege golem to a gate with an oil up on it. Someone’s wallet must be depressed right now!
It’s more that it’s a frustrating experience to fight against. If a server is able to 100% everything for a few hours at night, the game is basically over unless their daytime presence is terrible. I don’t think anyone is blaming anyone for playing at night.
Eh, Darkhaven does have several organized guilds that do well together. I don’t know about 1v1 combat, nor do I care about it, since that’s not what matters here. They will learn or they will lose, that’s all there is to it. Anecdotal evidence really serves nobody but the witness. Let’s not aim for record number of threads closed for a WvW match.
NSP has lost a great amount of WvW players, SOH ARMA AA and maybe two or three WvW oriented guilds are all thats left that really plays and even then most only play during peak. Even when we do have players most of them aren’t real thinkers, or just don’t want to wait and defend stuff. We really lack orginization on NSP….
Two suggestions:
1. Build a loyal community. Probably a lot harder for NSP than it was for Maguuma now, I don’t know. Our problem isn’t that our connected community gets demoralized, it’s the people who aren’t really involved in it that get demoralized. All you need is enough organized guilds to fill one borderlands and a good way to communicate.
2. Have fun not only in score victory but in the little things. As mentioned before, Maguuma pretty much never wins, but we still have a heck of a good time playing every week.
Maguuma has a great community, contrary to your belief. If you lump them together with us goons, that’s your bad. Ironic that you claim we would have to learn how to play the game, given how the other thread went down.
Was in the middle of a short reply to you zTales on the other thread when it got locked. I wrote:
I’d actually be inclined to take you up on that offer to gain a more fair, objective perspective. But I fear I wouldn’t be able to return home within 24 hours due to our full server population.
Kumbaya My Lord…Kumbaya!
It changes often though, does it not? It may take a little longer than 24 hours, but I doubt you would be stuck here. But I don’t know, it sounds like bandwagonning has been a bigger issue in these tiers, so maybe it would take a long time.
Actually, everyone on Maguuma is a spy for another server. Is your mind blown?
The others Moa bird in all their guardians
Someone please do this to a bubble, even if it’s Maguuma, and post it on YouTube. It would be hilarious.
I think they should stay the same and that they should fix the cliffs that you can clip into. If you aren’t sweeping your keeps regardless, you’re doing it wrong.
Just because someone else was using it doesn’t mean they aren’t abusing the system. By your logic just because one person cheats it’s ok for everyone to cheat. This is the problem with every online video game ever. This mentality is wrong.
That is fallacious because you assume that the definition of our tactics as exploitation is factual. But nice try.
Having such a pejorative phrase used against us seems like an opinion to me. But maybe that’s just me.
Saiyr,
I’m pretty sure that is just you. Because I said that a lot of the people who were defending Maguuma’s actions were justifying it by saying all the high tier servers do it… Which is no different than saying all the cool kids do it.
That’s a fact, if it offends you, that’s extremely odd.
When I hear the “all the cool kids do it” I picture a whiny child complaining about how they can’t do something idiotic that their friends are doing. But I guess I am a cynical person (I am definitely extremely odd) so I apologize if that’s not what you were implying.
Sad to see that Optimushaxx still hasn’t been banned. He was reported several weeks ago and he claimed he was “hacked” and he was “out of town”. I guess he’s “out of town” again. Or he just made a new account and has a different number.
