Ebay is very similar to Mag and we will both be stuck in T4 for ages unless we join together and fight the zerg as one.
Fight the….“zerg”? YB has continuously proven that they can hold objectives against superior numbers. We’ve been holding EB keep in EBG for a longass time now, a lot of the time with 10 people or so against the HIRE guild and friends. But anyway you can keep calling YB zerg.
Though even joining together won’t make you win, you got a long way to go.

Yeah they are all numbers game and attitudes of do it our way or the highway. We didn’t want to do it their way so they tried to poach as many before hitting the highway.
It’s all good we only lost a couple of decent people and even less decent players. Noticed by the fact EBay is still coming last even though 100’s of w3 dedicated have xferd there in the past 1 month.

When your recruitment strategy is to send “representatives” to other servers and spam WvW map chat trying to poach players/guilds from those servers, you can’t really complain about what HIRE did on IOJ.
I see your point, but there are a few key differences
1) Hire recruited ppl on IoJ to fight for IoJ then took them to a different server
2) that is only one guy recruiting individual players that dont mind or in fact want to leave the current server they are on
3) that is not IoJ’s strategy, that happens to be only part of Drgn’s strategy
he’s recruiting small/medium guilds for IoJ to be absorbed into Drgn….
When I spoke to him and he told me it was for IoJ I told him I didn’t think that was cool and wouldn’t be willing to transfer my guild to another server. He tried to insult me by looking at my roster and noting people weren’t representing and saying that was “sad.”
To be spamming our WvW maps with recruitment messages at all hours of the day the week before our servers face off is a pretty scummy. Recruit on the forums, not our wvw team chat.
It’s not just FA, either. They were the guild I was talking about on Maguuma.
Man, they transferred to our enemy server and even I couldn’t dream up that kind of conspiracy. We’ve had an IoJ guild spam recruiting in our server for a few weeks now too, so maybe you’ll get some people to compensate. Sounds like HIRE wasn’t that successful though (explains our current match score), though BP fields a ton of people at times.

Have you read the current TC, FA, CD thread? Civil isn’t how I would describe it. Most matchup threads are pretty much the same. Same trash talk, same hacking accusations, same misrepresentations, gloating and goading.
The only difference is the other threads don’t have Bunzy in them. He is like the Maguuma equivalent of Daish.

I like Maguuma’s resourcefulness. If there’s ever a new little trick to try, Maguuma is on the front lines trying it. I like that they’re always out there looking for new ways to creatively play the WvW game.

The best thing that comes to mind about Ehmry is their openers. The one awhile ago was pretty insane, the one on Friday was pretty good too. If you had the time to do it every day, the scoreboard might look rather different.
I also like how the GH and CoS thieves left me alone cuz i was cheering and waving at them and killed my guildmate right next to me, despite having a GOON tag on

You can always play that card, and it is easy. It is a natural function of the human brain to categorize thing, despite how many individuals, including me, try to act above it sometimes. Now I wont use the excuse the MG posters have been generalizing that YB is a zerg server with bad duelers. However, in my defense, my posts are directed at those members, the ones active on these forums, who claim that MG is mostly about roaming and dueling. If there’s someone from MG who’d present their server as otherwise, I will address their posts accordingly. I am well aware though that things are never absolute, just can’t help being human and categorizing.

Problem with MG is they can’t work as a team that well, or a good number of them, and thus they want to play by their own rules and don’t realize that 95% of the yaks population isn’t interested in dueling and they are interested in objectives and big battles and such, and that includes our small groups as well. But no you have to abide by our rules or you’re a zerg server.
Your categorical labeling of an entire server based on the statements of a mere handful is no better than theirs. 95% of Maguuma isn’t interested in duels either. Some of us do (not me because I am terribad), some of us like fight club, some of us will let duels take place if they see them, but we don’t as a whole server seek them out.
It’s sad that so many people here are replacing CD with Yaks for your latest subject of ridicule of being unskilled or whatever because you can’t beat these servers. Without exception, losers calling out winners just look silly.
It is not “so many” people. Its a few forum warriors who don’t know when to stop running their mouths. I have barely seen these guys in game so I don’t know where the hell all this noise is coming from. I’ve seen Bunzy a grand total of once and all he was doing was camping a lone supply camp in a dead borderland. Yeah, pretty much every server does it. It’s not worth complaining about unless you want to be a pot. Though if I’m correct in what I’m looking at, that person is still on the spawn hill.
Yeah, I don’t think that’s intended. But there are lots of things buggy about it, like how you can get another breakout right after finishing one to get more free supply.
Hired Assassins [HIRE] a 450 man oceanic guild, has just transferred to Ehmry Bay. I will be looking forward to seeing what the Yak’s Bend/Maguuma Oceanics have in store for us.
You guys have definitely already proven yourselves…. Now before anyone says oceanic is PvDoor you need to play against these guys. I was hiding in west keep of maguuma borderlands when I see a HIRE ele standing beneath me seemingly afk so I let it slide. When I move out to switch shift with another Mesmer sure enough the ele follows me quietly. Soon enough I out run her, but then I notice 2 others have joined her for the chase. Long story short it was 40 mins and about 5-6 HIRE players later that I was caught. Loads of fun with you guys since it seemed that everywhere I turned you had someone posted to catch me, very impressive co ordination!

I thought the whole point of WvW is getting the right number of people into the right spot at the right time. I have yet to see a side pull back when they have the other outnumbered and say “You 10 guys just wait there, we don’t want to be unsportsmanlike.” The 3 servers have similar populations. Yaks just has been doing a better job of of getting their people into one spot. Perhaps if you guys didn’t have small groups of gank squads roaming round draining your population from key fights, you might do better.
I expect if EB gets a big population boost like they say they have, they will shoot into T3 in a week or two.
We are pretty good at herding cats to the right place. Despite the few people from Maguuma talking about gank squads there really aren’t that many out there.

Meh, I don’t mind it so much. Until the recent transfer the current bracket was pretty good. Yak’s didn’t win by a blowout and we were pretty much neck and neck with Ehmry Bay, so there was a higher turnout overall. The problem for me is that the big WvW update is supposed to be in February I hope they do more interesting things along the way like the breakout events and tune them appropriately.
At least I know why Maguuma is losing to Ehrmy Bay for the first time in weeks, its that new 450 man guild -.-
Except we (Ehmry Bay) were beating you (maguuma) before HIRE joined.
Not to rain on your parade, but it helps that you got a nice score boost during the patch when you had half of the pie and everyone was getting connection errors. We might still be losing after the fact, but not nearly as much after those two factors (and PvE hurr I’m part of the problem).
I have no idea what u guys are talking about. If there is a Ebay commander on Yaks Bend, no one at FTF has heard of it or received information that would benefit us from this mysterious espionage commander lol.

We have our guild raids on Fridays and Saturdays.. as far as when we last attacked Mag… If we had SouthEast Spawn then its more then likely we we’re there. (We like hills hehe) but Yaks Bend is now our South East Spawn so we’ll be there

We’re on Maguuma, not Yak’s Bend. The guild is LZBO and the commander is Shadowla with an accent on the a. I don’t know if they’re “spying” per se, it’s a little difficult to decipher exactly what they’re doing. I’ve never played with the person because most of the time I see them in spawn, but people say they’ve used the icon to divert people into death traps or something. I don’t really care, I’m just trying to reinforce that people like to watch us in one way or another :P I doubt (m)any of the large guilds in Ehmry bother to spy, just as I doubt the large guilds in Maguuma bother.

We all get what he’s saying, the same redundant post for the last couple of pages. For the last couple of pages, I haven’t seen anyone argue that’s it’s a bad thing to do,, only that they’re nothing special. It’s something plenty of pugs have been doing since beta, why fill the match thread with the same basic post over and over?
I disagree just from my own personal experience. Do you really see groups of 5-10 pubbies that are really effective in cutting off reinforcements that may outnumber them in size by a lot? I honestly don’t, and we’re on the same server. I see coordinated guilds do it very well, but definitely not pick up groups. Though I agree repeating the same thing about gank squads all the time is old hat, it’s part of the trash talking fun, as long as it doesn’t get out of hand :P
Hi guys….EOH reporting in here. We’re on Maguuma and are working on getting people moved over from AR. We’re also expecting another guild from DR to be joining this weekend for the rematch.
I’d just like to say that, after reading this thread I see a lot of the same problems exist in this bracket as everywhere else (exploit use). Tbh you guys have far less of it going on because most of this community shuns out people that employ the use of them pretty immediately (with proof of course).
Anyways, this is EOH’s permanent home, so I hope we can all work together in the near future. A few of yous have seen a couple of us over the last couple of days.

I’m on Maguuma and I care about the score. Probably why my posts are depressing. I post in the morning before I play, and at night, before I log. I play too much. And there never seems to be a set time for peak hours. I solo camps. Buy upgrades. Flip stuff in every map, solo. Forever alone. I suggest things in mumble. Nobody does it. I go back to my quaggan friends.
I will always be there for you, Leafy-chan. Except when I’m at work. Which is always. I think you need a more demanding voice on Mumble to get people to do things.
I am genuinely impressed that Ehmry can hold their half of Maguuma, Yak’s Bend, and their share of Eternal and all of their borderlands tonight. Well done.
We still have it, too. I dunno about you, but I consider holding an enemy garrison when the score is completely even funnier and more interesting than a zerg 100%-ing eternal, but maybe that’s just me!
The fight club organizer from Maguuma that I know is pretty bored of GW2 right now, unfortunately. I don’t know who else will do it. Just announce a (reasonable for east coast) time and hopefully people will show up.
