I’m not sure what you’re expecting our response to be to that. I saw more defenders after leaving the garrison than while we were capturing it. You knew for a long time that we would be attacking it.

Yes, this is exactly the same problem T4 had. There were 4 servers that were in the T3 area and they had bigger populations than the incoming/resident T4 servers. Crystal Desert massively outnumbered us and Yak’s bend just had better coverage. As was eloquently stated by more than one person, WvW population almost strictly increases as you rise in tiers…but that doesn’t seem to stop people from being rude about it. I understand their frustration but it is not the worst of their problems and it’s certainly not our fault. Something else that came to my mind just now was that even though we are being accused of PvD, it’s DR that had the highest PPT on reset night.

It’s the same name as what’s in Morningstar’s signature.

So, why is someone from [AoD] on Maguuma now?

Eh, I doubt hiding mesmers played as big of a role in lower tiers, so I can understand it. Even if it did, we have some pretty crazy mesmers.

And has been mentioned many, many times, we have the least night presence of any server above us, so get used to it.

As Dynnen said, up until this matchup we were almost always in the enemy BLs since we could play off of our larger guilds to feel like we were contributing to the server as a whole. We can’t do that in this matchup since a small guild running around with no presence on the map is not going to accomplish anything other than killing people outside their walls. So, we have been trying to help out in our own BL some.

As a side note, I think Mag is the best WvW server in this teir not just because of population advantage (which does help, of course). They also have a lot of very dedicated defenders who sit in towers and keeps for hours. That must be boring as hell at times. I hope they are multi-tasking for their sanity. They also have the strongest PUG groups I’ve run across from the different servers we’ve fought. Definitely stronger than BP in this teir.

Maguuma has PuGs willing to suicide themselves into a supply camp just to keep it contested long enough for help to arrive to prevent a cap. In other words, they have a lot of people playing for the server rather than for themselves. Credit is given where credit is due.

As one who is almost always in Mag lately, thank you for noticing I used to think the same as you, that it would be super boring, but it’s not too bad in the company of friends. I don’t think we plan to be the only ones doing this forever, but it’s alright for now.

After two nights of legitimate pushes from both servers on our borderlands at the same time, before I noticed a big morale drop, I think I am quite happy with the results (not losing a keep). I won’t rub it in anyone’s face unless I get really irked, but I really feel like you’re just summoning arbitrary numbers to make an argument. The matchup could have been a lot closer (and next week’s just might be, if the cards are played correctly), and I would argue that a complete stomping is less of a reason to brag.

Also we totally have more fat people than Australia.

Been reading this thread a bit. It seemed like a pretty terrible sounding matchup at first, but then it started picking up. Maybe it’s not so bad afterall. It’s not changing next week, right?

Your opinion always seems opposite of mine, so sure…from a WvW perspective we’ve increased our point lead quite a bit though, where the first few days were quite close. It’s unlikely that it’ll change next week, but sounds like there’s a number of roamers that I’m sure you would like.

I honestly hope Mag moves up next week, not that I don’t enjoy the players or guilds its just the amount that is hard to swallow. I enjoyed BP more-so in that regard this matchup. I felt even BP had more in WvW than DR, but it was manageable and forced smart play. I think we will probably lose once more if we stay here, against BP, we just need to take our collective lumps in order to fine tune our WvW map play.

A little recruitment wouldn’t hurt either, maybe.

We’re still projected to lose ranking points next week, unfortunately. DR had some pretty huge assaults on our borderlands the first few days, but then it just dwindled into hardly anything. I think if that was sustained across the entire week then it may still be a bit closer.

YMMV, but our organized Mumble effort has mostly stayed away from EBG until lately, to a fault. We found that EBG was by far the most popular among our pubbies and it could usually hold its own with good commanders (<3 Invalid and everyone else), so we let them go there while we try and fight on the borderlands. It has caused some interesting issues recently, but I would say if you’re finding that DR is overcommitting to EBG then some of the organized guilds should work together elsewhere. I haven’t stepped foot in EBG this week except for the jumping puzzle so I really have no idea how DR is doing there except from what I see on the map.

Ha, yeah…but not every server is into that sort of thing or have the same kind of community as us.

That’s a poor reason, in my opinion. We wouldn’t be doing anyone any favors in the long run by letting them have their BL back for free. Sure, they get some more points, but they learn absolutely nothing, and they absolutely have things to learn.

A player should never have to solo anything when a hostile force is in their home borderlands, anyway. If it really is that empty then a guild needs to rally to their BL and drag pubbies with them and take back what is theirs. And by theirs, I mean ours. They are able to hold their side of EBG at some points so I think they must have enough to reclaim DR if they really tried.

Edit: Eh I think I’m getting my conversations confused. Oh well.

It isn’t just them though, there have been commanders trash talking too and complaining about how we’re 2v1 cowards.

Regarding learning how to defend your BL, I guess you guys have just given up this week? Because we’ve had west keep for what, two days straight, east keep for one day (assuming we still have it, I can’t see right now) and now your garrison. There is no other reason I can think of to leave your borderlands like that unless your population for the week has crashed. The DR people trying to do stuff in our borderlands are basically a minor annoyance and put a small dent in our PPT at best; they would be better trying to retake stuff in their own borderlands.

That would be Leafy Lass, our resident sunshine expert.

I’m sad I couldn’t stay around longer to duel since I had to go put out fires elsewhere most of the time. I was the one kitten (lol censored guild tag) engineer that dueled the P/D EDGE thief…It was a close one, I’m sad I didn’t win I think the difference was literally just one hit at the end. if you stand back and take a look at the predicted server points come reset. Then although Mag are going to win this battle – BP and DR are taking a bite out of their server rating. Ultimatley meaning that Mag is being locked into this tier.
The only likely change to happen shortly is the arrival of Kain who may upset the apple cart and cause 1 of these 4 servers to bounce between tier 6 and 5.

Sorry I don’t mean to call them bad, I am legitimately wondering what they are doing zerging our BL with a bunch of uplevels. Are they already bored of this match and seriously just karma training? I mean I even see them do the centaur karma events. Nobody does those.

A large number of them have been karma training since we were in T8.

Check around 6:09 in this movie. The large zerg of green dots moving to take the supply camp and then the harpy before moving north is one of our wonderful karma train groups.

I keep trying to watch the dots but I inevitable end up watching the fighting instead, blah. That’s pretty funny, though. I’ve never seen a guild so dedicated to karma training. I wonder what they do with all that karma.

Pretty sure we flipped BP’s garrison and EK last night and it’s not the first time we’ve done something like that. I also saw us pushing on both sides in EBG at separate times last night. So really you are just playing the victim card. The funny part is that it was you two servers that announced some silly truce against Maguuma and it was supposedly you guys that broke it, so maybe you should blame yourselves instead.

The only thing I will admit is that we absolutely did focus on DR at the reset because we heard you were the bigger threat, but that turned out to not be the case even though you had some strong hours that first day. We don’t pick on the “new” guy, we love fighting new servers (and both of you are new to us anyway?), but we do pick on the weak guy. Spend less time complaining about 2v1 and more time thinking about how your server can make your next big step forward.

Looks like it’ll take 2 weeks or more to get bumped up to T4. I think we’re stronger when we have 2 strong opponents so I think we’ll get to prove ourselves when we get back up to T4. I have a feeling it’ll just be a merry go round between Yak, Ebay, and us going between T4 and T5.

We went down a tier because the current T4 servers all got transfers to stay competitive and we didn’t really.

It was as clear as day on reset night that DR was still young and untested. We had mostly zerged our way to victory, there had been no real communication between commanders, and we simply weren’t on par with servers from higher tiers. We simply got swept away instantly.

Err, if I’m not mistaken, we held west keep all day yesterday because I saw a waypoint when I woke up in the morning and it was there all night. When I woke up this morning we had a waypointed east keep. If that’s your definition of secure, then sure…

And I forgot to mention, most of the times this week where we’ve wiped a borderlands clean of waypoints we never left many to defend it, so if it took you a day to retake it, oops.

Yes, there will be times when we are down on our knees, with below 100 potential points, but at these times you can really tell that DR has a healthy amount of pride and organization. I remember yesterday we had about 15-20 people on DRBL. After losing all of our keeps and almost losing hope, we suddenly had a queue on DRBL instead.

There is nothing wrong with server pride but if you can’t recognize that you have a long way to go then your hubris will be your loss. The number of silly things I’ve seen you guys do is endless so unless all of your quick learning is taking place elsewhere, you haven’t grown at all. Examples include:

1. Walking a siege golem to a wall where you built two catapults, but where we already had an arrow cart to take care of them
1.a. Seeing our arrow cart, building a catapult away from the wall…which was still in arrow cart range
1.b. Walking the siege golem in front of a cannon and oil after the arrow cart chased said golem away
2. Trying to complete a breakout by breaking the walls down and letting Siegerazer solo the rest because you’re too afraid to come in yourselves (to be fair I think this worked once and you portal bombed once, but we took the tower back both times in 5 minutes with mesmers)
3. Trebbing a keep for an hour, except not hitting anything
4. Completely failing golem rushes on our east keep with multiple omegas, twice, while we were being pushed on both keeps (and if you think this is merely a numbers issue this just adds to your denial)

DR won’t win this week. We probably won’t win next week either. But we ARE going up in tiers, while Maguuma is going down. DR comes from the bottom but we have proven that we can and want to go higher. Whether or not we will time can only tell.

I have a healthy respect for certain DR small groups, but I don’t think they are utilized effectively by the rest of DR. I have a lot less respect for commanders that constantly complain about being 2v1’d.

People who ruin fight club generally get a bad reputation. Other than that I’d never heard of LARP beforehand. They did kill a lot of us and that was kind of sad, we were trying not to hit the Ehmry partygoers though so that kind of put a dent into things. The D/D eles noticed it and ran back into the crowd if they got too low.

Well, I’m not aware of what they did on EB. They were on Kaineng and then FC where they did not have a bad rep.

Some of the EBs was having a go away party for Mag the last night before reset. This party meant that people was just standing around emoting eachother. The three of us thought the party was pretty lame and started killing people. That’s the only thing I can think of that would give us bad rep from our time on EBay and i guess that’s what Bunzy is referring to. If not, plz Bunzy enlight me.

Just because you only saw emoting doesn’t mean that’s all that was happening…actually, right around when you started attacking was when they were going to (resume?) fight club before you decided to do that instead.

Since we got some Elementalist hanging out here. I’ve always wondered how some elementalist are able to get into mist form and then come up from down state.

Several time last few weeks when I was on WvW occasionally, I would down a elementalist. They would go into mist form and then pop right up. Not sure if anyone has been seeing this as well.

Maybe they rallied while mistformed?
