Just a small reminder who think Maguuma is great. Some Maguuma lover Borlis Pass players double teamed Devona before they transfer to Maguuma while Devona was in 2nd place. Devona lost 2vs1 in that match up and still managed to take down BP. After morale was broken we lost some fair weather players causing a chain reaction of panic that people are leaving. And Maguuma got players from BP and other servers. In the end Devona proved that it has a loyal player base which are staying even if we lose very hard.

I don’t know if you read the thread properly, but it was DR and BP suggesting an alliance against Maguuma

It wasn’t “suggesting”, it was two nights of hard, simultaneous pushes on Maguuma BL that resulted in 0 keeps taken even though several omegas were used and then the alliance falling apart.

Any fine person from CRIT or BINQ that can PM me? Preferably an officer or a leader

Hard to tell. Mag is fighting 2 servers that can’t put up a fight right now.

No they’re fighting 1 server that has been decimated by transfers and another that they have gone way past in terms of population.

IMHO Mag has a T2/upper T3 population this week (based on prior experience). Whether that will change we’ll see.

What sort of queues are you getting in NA/European/Oceanic?

That guy isn’t from Maguuma. I haven’t hopped borderlands much, but I haven’t seen a queue since reset night. I know Eternal has had one, and some of the borderlands have one when there’s something important, but it’s not frequent.

If anyone wants to have some duels, PM me, we have at least one of each server at the moment.

I am not aware of having much of an Oceanic presence. Someone claimed that we did on Reddit, but I don’t really believe it, unless some massive guild transferred here without saying anything.

To people looking for an explanation to Yak’s poor opener: There was overconfidence, followed by a lot of new militia who are still finding their feet. The large Militia numbers were because of a recent PvE engagement drive, and possibly individual transfers of people looking for community first.

So the reason YB is losing is because YB beat themselves? I think the real reason Yaks had a poor opener is because Yaks’ lack of skill in the face of even numbers has been completely and utterly exposed.

If that explanation appeals more to your ego, go with that. Its quite revisionist considering Yak’s earlier matches against Maguuma and other higher tiered servers, but your demonstrated attitude leads me to believe that that won’t deter you.

Which matches? The ones where you rolled us because your population was much higher? Maybe the one where we won because your server didn’t understand how to cope against Dragonbrand?

As someone who has been on YB for quite some time, I dont remember ANY of our commanders lately, there is no set WVW guilds that I ever see in decent numbers besides (hell) and (CL). We dont even put up trebs on our garrison mountain tops to treb dreaming bay or hills anymore. My only explanation is that we lost alot of our wvwvw focused people. Sadly I feel like we are a mindless zerg server, minus the large zerg numbers of some other servers.

YB feels very different then it did a couple weeks ago. Oh well

I think almost every server is different from a couple of weeks ago, unfortunately. If it makes you feel better there are a lot of new commanders on Maguuma, too…one of which told one of our day one players that she needed to play more because she asked for cardinal directions instead of location names, which is quite standard on our server.

Either way, if we drop below T3 it won’t be in four weeks or less, lol. Don’t buy into server hype — Maguuma’s best case scenario is all of their transfers leaving elsewhere (such as Kaineng or Sea of Sorrows), and their worst case scenario is skipping T3 and getting rolled by Rall.

I would put my money on AD. WM is severely overrated in terms of actual combat skilI. I was watching AD slaughter tons of Kaineing from the sidelines.

Not a betting person myself, and I’ve never seen WM anyway. AD kills lots of general zerg populations, but the hype is so strong around WM that I have trouble agreeing with you. It’s like the sky is falling or something, by the way some people paint it.

The difference between Mag’s zerg and Yak’s zerg is that Maguuma built a community based on discipline, coordination and skill PRIOR to having superior numbers. Yaks has actively recruited anyone that will transfer since transfers existed.

Maguuma is the one and only server to not actively recruit and have instead built a community that revolves around talent and have pulled in transfers because people want a high quality WVW experience. Every other server in every other tier has no quality control and just wants numbers.

That’s what separates Maguuma from literally every other server in the game. Yeah we have superior numbers now but we got them from in game skill, not forum hording players.

People joined your server because it was winning its tier by and large, no different than other bandwagon servers. You fell down into easier tiers, outclassed them, and drew the losing sides unhappy players. People that join YB typically do so because of the community not the scoreboard.

What you have to ask is if you really want people that came on, 1) because they were losing elsewhere, and 2) who left their previous server once they were losing. What will happen if they lose on your server where they have even less attachment. I guess you’ll find out these answers upon moving up.

YB did lose 2 prominant guilds before last reset in FOO back to Blackgate and DARK who jumped ship to Dragonbrand (of all places), this week we got 1 guild from TC.

Apparently people don’t like our server name and that’s what stops them from coming lol

You’d think that “ermegerd gewnz” would be more of a deterrent…huh. Never put much thought into server names, myself. Sucks that those guys left, I remember seeing a lot of DARK tags.

No we did not Saiyr, We Gained two 30 man NA prime guilds [MF] and [HELL]. We are happy to have them as they seem to fit in so far. It’s just you guys, Maguuma Gained a butt load, Yaks will keep fighting. But, Maguuma has T2 plus population now. Like I said we are not complaining. I hope that the Transfers stay with you and don’t just bail next week on you guys and you get a good team going. We YAKS have always told you guys that we can only field 2 1/2 maps. You never listened…you just shouted Zerg server. We now that you have more…well now you (Maguuma) know….

As I said, Fight well guys, Yaks will keep plugging and still be here next week having fun and playing as a team.

I don’t think we really have a T2 pop…definitely not at night. And I definitely hope the mega-bandwagon-omgineedthispoi people don’t stay with us. I am very much okay with staying in this tier and having non-stressful, decent matches, with a decent community.

Meh, I’ll just wait and see. Maguuma’s oceanic presence has always been pretty minimal (last two weeks were probably the first time we’ve ever been accused of “night capping”). Yak’s is better than ours, but not in a Dragonbrand sort of way.

Edit: Oh, well if IoJ is ET 2.0 then I guess there might be trouble. I knew 10+ guilds left, but I figured you could still put up a good fight in the mid tiers.

So soon to decide? IoJ had a decent oceanic presence and we haven’t seen it yet.

Two people on Maguuma that I know of have gotten precursors from WvW drops. One bought two icons with it immediately, the other geared up his characters. Whether or not you believe it is irrelevant. Not like a screenshot means anything for evidence, anyway.

PRO is split in two and one part of them are on Yak’s Bend, as you probably already saw from this thread. Whether or not you got the dramatic half is up for interpretation.

So the rumors go, yup (as well as another DR guild). This guy has posted the same thing in at least three threads though, zzz.

I don’t see why any guild that can fill a match thread with so much drama would be missed on any server.

Let’s not derail this any further. All I have to say about Mumble is that it was obviously made by programmers only, if you catch my drift. If you have problems with it and think it can be resolved then PM me about it. It is far too late to switch to anything else and Ventrilo is not even an option.
