I’ll be fair, I didn’t really think about it, but that video is actually not really counter-evidence anyway. The dude made the accusations during the first match, not the second one. I requested evidence and someone even pointed him my way later that night but he never got it or intentionally ignored it. I don’t know why it didn’t surface until this week.

So maybe there is hope that all the folks looking for duels and fight club activity will find it there instead of in WvW. I don’t expect that will dramatically affect WvW itself, but it would be a huge improvement for these forums to have the associated smack talk moved elsewhere.

I hope not, for fight club. It’s always been a nice way to bring servers together in a WvW match and have fun. I’m pretty sure the smack talk here usually comes from people that don’t do fight club, and as you can see it was toned down a bit after the dueling took place last night.

What impresses me most about Magu is that their commanders seem to be masters at herding cats. Because when their commanders are not there…. Lets just say Lemmings have more common sense…

This is what I don’t get…I’ve made some friends on other servers, but that would never stop me from attacking them on the field. Maybe after jumping around them a few times. Do you guys never play competitive games against your friends? o_O

I think culling has a lot to do with the zerg accusations. At the moment, any group of 3+ people could be 3 people or 40 people, and you don’t know until you’re in the middle of them.

I had a funny example of that a couple of nights ago. I and a few server mates had just successfully defended Speldan against a small group of Maguuma, and since we needed reinforcement supplies in Anz I ran after the yak headed in that direction in order to escort it. Just as I got to the yak it simply vanished. I stood there for at least three seconds trying to figure out where it went (I even started to run back toward the camp), whereupon a much larger Maguuma zerg blinked into sight right on top of me.

Yesterday during one of the DR assaults on their east keep, I was pushing out across the bridge and wondering where all of the attackers went. Then I rendered 10 of them surrounding me. Lucky for me, I must have culled for them too…I do hope they fix that soon. It would be cool if the insane three-way Stonemist battles weren’t super laggy either.

I am aware you are not from WaR. I was adressing them in that part, not you. I was not however aware that WaR was needed in BPL when both potential points and actual points left BP in third. Also people are not mad because some sort of “deal” or double teaming didn’t happen (at least I know I’m not). I’m upset because people made a promise and didn’t stick to their words. That’s all. But don’t worry, now that I’ve vented I already feel much better, so back to lurking.

Sorry, I guess need was a strong word. But when we are being pushed by DR on west keep and BP at garrison then people will be called in to defend, as an example. We could have lost those points and still maintained a handy PPT lead, but that’s not really our thing…I kind of doubt it’s anyone’s.

It’s not about them getting mad. It’s about those of us on Borlis with a positive opinion of WaR being faced with disappointment when it turns out that the pretty parting speeches had no substance. You went to help ransack BPL because a guild was talking trash about you? That’s your excuse? It’s one thing to leave, but you’ve just added insult to injury by picking on the server that’s fallen on hard times as it is. Which is fine, do what you want. Just don’t try to play the victim on the forums afterwards.

What happened to WäR saying that they would like to keep things in good terms with BP and try to focus on DR this week? I see a fair number of WäR in BPBL, and I am torn between wanting to fight them and leaving them alone.

I can’t believe some folks still trying to double team Devona. Play to win. BP is the only server trying to contact and make deals with me personally and only server I had to block so many people. You guys play too much politics instead of fighting.

Devona is mad at BP because last week they double teamed Devona even when we weren’t in first place and killed this match up which could have been great. This double teaming issue caused some bandwagoners to leave Devona but our core players are still here and mad at BP for their politics.

All of this double teaming talk is pointless, especially now. Unfortunately, both servers are suffering from various problems this week, but it should be pretty clear that Maguuma doesn’t need to ally with anyone to maintain a stupidly high PPT. BP was unable to take back their garrison all day yesterday and they hardly made a presence on your BL. I never even saw them go above 100 PPT. So this double teaming you speak of us very nearly single teaming whether or not there’s an alliance in EB.

Well, I think this week I’ve started to notice that some of the guilds run best in a guild group. So maybe it’s not quite what you want. I am sure some forum warriors wouldn’t mind dueling you though if you ask :P

Hhhmmm … I thought that I rather openly admitted that we don’t have great coordination yet, and certainly not from one map to another. I’ve actually agreed with many of your criticisms of DR in the past, but I think it’s a bit beneath you to characterize the entire server based upon particular examples. I’ve seen a couple of pretty illogical actions from occasional (even large) groups of Mag myself, such as attacking isolated and fully fortified objectives with no hope of success and no other apparent value (such as distraction or attrition). I assume that every server has their share of rogue players just out to have some fun or try something different, and while we may have a larger share than some it doesn’t mean that we all are the same.

I am simply expressing an opinion based on anecdotal evidence. I was more seriously interested in what you think you have learned from us so far, because that is the important part.

I’m a little sad that DR and BP got the pointy end of the wvw population stick. I hope that our server culture doesn’t change too drastically, too quickly because I like that Maguuma has always been like one giant guild and Mags pubbies are my guild mates.

I don’t like competition blowouts so if DR and BP guys want help with server organization, comm structure and WvW tactics, I’m happy to help out. Its in nobody’s interests when the matches are not fair. This matchup is definitely not fair on DR and BP, who have nevertheless shown real heart against impossible odds.

This is going to sound really, uh, inflammatory, but I’m not really convinced that’s the case…you guys make identical mistakes several times in a row from my experience. I think it would be better if you openly or privately discussed with Rebel, as he offered above, things you could do better. Saying you’ve learned a lot from us is nice, and maybe you personally have, but as a whole, I don’t really know. Maybe it is just a matter of letting it sink in throughout the server, but I am curious: what exactly would you say you’ve learned from us? I can’t resist saying that I hope you learned that walking 10 golems across an entire map is a bad bad idea.

Yeah, from my personal experience, if you move to another server after you’re done fighting them, then the next server you play that you’ve fought before will be like, “omg they transferred because they want to fight us and make us lose”, but if you move while you’re still fighting them, well, you get the picture. There’s no winning that one.

Edit: FWIW, if you look on the first page, some of the people who we think transferred are the kinds of people who steal golems to go fail at getting a POI. So you should be happy those kinds of people are gone.

I was there a while ago. One of our commanders promptly insisted on using two trebs and everyone on the map to siege Bluebriar that was fully upgraded instead of Redlake which had paper everything.

I sighed and joined DRBL instead.

You know, I was wondering why DR seemed so interested in the SW tower. They tried a lot of weird things last night. Gotta find a way to work with those guys no matter how “interesting” their tactics are.

Well, one reason why you hear all the crap from BP on here is not just because of all the guilds leaving, but the fact that they are leaving to servers that we are still playing against. Sad part is there are still 1-2 that are considering moving, one of which has players that openly laugh and don’t help while watching others are doing their best against almost impossible odds. Very frustrating times in BP right now.

Almost hoping we fall next week, to be honest, because our favorite punching bags AR are awaiting our return. Kodiak, I think there are many people that will corpse dance over you.

We didn’t recruit all of those guilds, but I feel like we’re being blamed for it. WaR, sure, but we had already talked to them months ago. The amount of trolling I’ve seen from new faces on Maguuma this week has been absurd though, so I wouldn’t exactly call our position enviable. People are right, most of these guilds will leave us once we lose, and I’m sure looking forward to that. I don’t think WaR is one of these guilds, but only time will tell, I guess.

He is not saying that map chat is a better avenue of communication. If you look at every higher tier, I’m pretty sure every single one of them has a server-wide forum to discuss issues without cluttering up the match thread (sadly ours got a late start and hasn’t gone anywhere, so I guess you could say we are the exception). Airing dirty laundry in public often does little for anyone involved, and that’s only a small portion of the readers of this thread.

You can have same Tag check the guild name we don’t have any members in other servers. In past we sent few members for training to tier 1 but they did not represent guild on those weeks.

Here is the guild name. We kind of gave him a lot of crap but he kept just saying it was a friend’s guild. Whether or not that’s true, it kind of leaves a bad impression.

Also guys, this thread has become DR internal affairs chat again and most of us are not interested. It really does not help to discuss these things in public.
