How much gold do you have ?

About 8 gold at level 71- no special exotics or anything. I have just really become interested in virtual economies so have spent the last few days playing the trading post and having fun with it. I also have a severe unidentified dye addiction which I’m trying to break.

Release time Halloween ?

in Halloween Event

Keep in mind that this is an entire content update not just a Halloween event. Also, with the massive uproar from the community ANet is in the position where they probably want to fix a lot of the pressing issues with this update and make sure is READY before promising exact times. Guild wars itself is an old game so update times for a standard event are probably pretty predictable. Anyways, with that aside, did anyone actually concrete a time for the release?

I AM SO EXCITED!!! Thanks for this information! I’m happy to see they didn’t just focus on dungeon and karma rewards but jumping puzzle rewards and other aspects of the game as well. I can’t wait to see this patch if this is only a small chunk of the new content and redesigns.

About future expansions in terms of pets

I would live to see dolyaks and minoraurs- and any other cool animal that is more mythical and outside the realm of the typical large cat/wolf breed. I also am in love with some of the pet customization ideas player have presented such as pet dyes and pet armour, I wonder if we could get something official from ANet stating whether this is something they are considering?

Have they ever said why they did away with mana?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: samrogan.9132

They have stated that they don’t want people “waiting around waiting for regen” which I think is a good thing. Sucks just sitting there waiting for a mana refill to kill your next boar.

The same thing happened to me with the children in lion arch! I remember being personally offended when they were talking about Logan Thackery because i loved his character so much and that ended up being how I learned his story. Great moment!

Abuse the report function as a threat?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: samrogan.9132

samrogan.9132

No it Is absolutely not okay to do that, the guild leader is in the wrong here. If your friend is still interested in reporting him I believe that the devs have access to the chat history. Also, If he did get reported for botting but wasn’t doing it he wouldn’t suffer any reprocussions as ANet investigates this stuff pretty thoroughly before handing out bans.

I noticed this too! I would like it much better if when you take it off you slowly start losing health and get a warning to put it back on or swim to the surface! Some of the dialogue I have found was just funny. I got hit on by a female npc once which was Funny for me because I’m a female, love these little touches!

I know how you feel, I also got hacked and while my hackers were a little more considerate (left all my minis and dyes on my account) they bought over 250 dollars of gems with my credit card info. ANet returned all the money to me within 3 days so hopefully that gives you a little comfort knowing that they do what they can.

Home isntance isnt that cool, a guild hall that your guild could actually build from small house shack to small castle would be kitten.

heres my vison of it…

Free waypoint useable only by people reping guild. It starts as a plot of land with a small lodge cabin that with ach upgrade to lets say the architecture it becomes larger to giant cabin up till a small castle many months down the line. And each upgrade allows more things to be built. Like forge for armor and weps/ give sharpen wep buff when visited . Banks, guild repair man to allow rich players to donate funds for guild repairs. Places if there are ever raids/large encounters where trophies of fallen big bad bosses can be hung or mounted if done by guild. garden outside that upgrades with stuff to provide small amounts of food items. You could go as far as to have guild events where a horde of some given monster attacks ur guild headqueaters and its up to the guild to fend them off. Lots of possibles and not to mention a cool place to hang out with the guild because guild community islacking right now

Would be sooo sweet

One of my best moments was doing a jumping puzzle-
Player: i just finished the puzzle, do you need help?
Me: no I think I’m okay, I just keep falling because I really suck at these
Player: okay, we’ll I’m coming to help you anyways.
I didn’t even know this person, it was so awesome!

Also playing “where’s so and so” with my gullies. Out guild master would hide somewhere on a map and give us all clues where to find him, the first one there got 1 gold and then we would wait for everyone else to show up and take a group picture. SO fun.

Pretty much any META event… And my personal story from level 50-60 was so epic, I was staring at the screen with my mouth open half the time!

More info on upcoming updates!

This is a great post, thanks! I have never got a character to cap in any mmo and I am at 68 with my guild wars character so frankly I was a little worried about the talk of no end game content, but I am really happy to hear that right out of the gates ANet is working on this many player concerns and exciting stuff for us to experience.

Age of GW2 Players

I am 21 and I love the game. I don’t think it’s so much a matter of age but of maturity. I can understand what goes into creating an mmo, the time that fixes take and sometimes lack of one perfect end all be all fix and also that nothing in this world is made for everyone in this world.

Lack of any real loot is a huge problem for this game!

I have never played gw1 but I suppose that could work. It’s not even about making money for me, just the sheer principal of working that hard for the same outcome as you get during regular game play. I think it turn a lot of people off of killing bosses and in turn the participation in those events is less. Look at the shatterer for instance, there is always like 100 people there because you’re at least guaranteed a green and usually a rare.

The only issue I have with loot is that chests and bosses seem to have the same loot drops as other monsters which is pretty underwhelming. It a bit disappointing to spend 30 minute working on one boss and getting a blue axe and scrap leather. I wish the special drops had special loot. Other than that, I haven’t really had an issue making money, I don’t think it should be obnoxiously easy to get rich, just like real life.

It ruins it for the players who come here for information on the game. I don’t think any of us think the game is perfect or don’t think people are entitled to opinions when they have paid for a product, however the forum is overrun with tons of posts about why they are personally leaving. If you are leaving because you hate the game so much than why post about it? Obviously there is no intent to offer feedback that may actually benefit the game or their personal play experience. I love posts about possible improvements and new features- but I absolutely detest John smith making the 25th post about bots in a day. That is a VALID complaint, because it ruins the community, there is a difference.

Yes please. This forum is depressing! Rule of thumb- if you wouldn’t send it to arena at in an email, don’t post about it here. If there is 2687369 othe posts about it, don’t post it here. If arena net has already said they are working on it, don’t post it here. If it contains something about how much the game sucks and a personal statement of why you are leaving but yet you hang around to troll on the players who are actually having fun, don’t post it here. There is a distinct difference between constructive criticism and annoying whining/putting yourself on a pedestal/blatant picking on arena net and the game for petty reasons.

I for one was really excited about town clothes. Games like Asheron’s Call and Allods both had great cosmetic clothing systems. Heck, i even played FreeRealms which is a children’s game and had a ton of fun getting thjngs for my character to wear. I was expecting to see hundreds of different outfits collectible from events, special drops, vendors etc. but as of yet there are only maybe 3 different pieces available. I was just curious if this is in the works or if BLTC is the only source of outfits and I should give up hope.

YES to everything you said. Since when did constructive criticism become “this”. Whatever goes on in this game community is depressing and I’m thinking, if 60 bucks is so important to you that you can start a flat out hate group over one tiny bug then maybe you should be out working and making some more
money? if for a second I feel that a bug bothers me I first remember to be patient because I sure as heck can’t create anything this amazing and second I take a while to appreciate that I can move and cast, I can jump, I can spend all day playing without reading and quest text and just see how unique and great this game is. If people don’t know how difficult something is to do and have no chance of doing it themselves they should not comment “it’s so simple Anet”, “why isn’t this fixed yet Anet”," why did you nerf this Anet"

ArenaNet is great.

I have searched the internet for years and tried many new games just hoping for one that would be ‘for me’, not leaving me bored before level 40 came. Not only is the game great but I have so much respect for ANet as a company. I have never seen anything at the level of interaction they have with the community. I recognize issues with the current state of the game as any objective player would, but I have never seen something valid brought up by the community that they have not immediately addressed which is so admirable. I am inspired by this game and what ANet brings to the table as a company. I think people are forgetting that no game is ever released with 100% of the content that it has after a few months or years. This game has barley been out for two months and players are already getting so impatient. The only thing that truly depresses me about this game is checking the forums excited to hear news about events and features, only to see twenty new threads about the bots (which ANet is already actively involved in fixing) or threats to leave the game over a bottle of spilled Elonian wine. I am starting to feel sorry for the devs who have to read this every day. I think anything that costs me $60 which gives me hundreds upon hundreds of hours of enjoyment is a great investment, after all, a 2 hour movie costs me $15. Call me a fanboy for life, happily at level 60 and going strong.
