Season 3 Recruiting: guess we better get rolling. GvGs are maybe: that hype has faded for me. The new meta is kitten jamming. My expectations are that we will be able to handle that 2v1 with our full 20. Otherwise same ol same ol, goto a BL, bunker, go for map control. wait for outmanned and let the fun begin. If you like to whine about outnumbered, need not apply.

I like people that can theorycraft to the style i roll with. So we will build according to that. learn what other guilds build and look for counters.

IMO PPT is a symptom of population/coverage not the problem to solve. PPT balancing solutions is sort of like having high blood pressure due to a disease and only treating the blood pressure.

I never see these ques that people speak of. EB and home gets ques reset then we send one or 2 guilds to higher ranked server as best I tell with roamers poking a 3rd. Maybe this last reset I missed managed to que 3 but I have never seen it. Be lucky to que EB itself outside of NA prime any day other then the 1st 1-2 of reset.

shrugs then that’s not really more coordinated. that’s just outnumbering every server up until t1.5 isn’kitten I don’t even think the maguumies heavy NA presence can queue 2+ maps on reset? Most of the silver league servers can queue maybe 1.5 maps-2 not more during reset and weekends. Probably less now with leagues over and a plethora of new games out.

Reset night we queue EB, Home and top map. After that probably EB has a 2-3 man queue, all other BL has no queue unless we decide to have a fun run.

Ehh. I wanna really avoid t1 like the plague. During the season when Maguuma fought Blackgate, there were 8 blackgate people at a tower trying to build catas, me and one of my friends jumped on them and killed them all… 8 people… Thats depressing, we want a challenge at least lol.

So far we’re really interested in FA, I made a post on the FA forum to see what they think. We’re still open to other servers, one of the others we’ve had our eye on is Crystal Desert. I’d like to see how they preform against DR, but that looks like a t4 server that is solid in the tier, doesn’t look like they’re going to start falling anytime too soon.

The CD war council will be making some changes. As myself and couple others have been getting a bit busier outside of Lion’s Arch. These new individuals and existing ones will continue to represent CD as the new point of contacts for any issues regarding WvW. They will kitten our needs, concerns, and if there is a feasible solution will work towards it. They have the goals of CD as a whole first and foremost. I will still be around but in a much lesser capacity but entering temporary retirement and will mooch as much as I can from obamacare. Will be more focused on reconnecting with my guild and raiding more with the spare time.

This has been an ongoing thought process and transition for quite some time (~1 month).

NA people are a lot more fickle and over dramatic. If DB’s sea can hold it together while the NA sorts things out. DB will be fine. People come and go all the time, servers rise and fall. CD was fortunate with it’s SEA pop holding it together for us while NA sorted itself out. DB’s sea is one of the biggest if not largest in silver.

It’s pointless to upgrade unless you have a response team to defend it until it’s done. The t3 ugprades (wp) is very strategic for the map. you can defend more with less once you have WP’s. If you notice, servers that can endure the rebuild of their WPs everytime they are wiped are more durable. A server needs the right balance for fight guilds and ppt guilds. The moment when your best field guilds decide they are fights only and disregard to home BL, is usually the tip of the downfall of a server. Once the PPT goes down, these guilds will usually transition off to another server that has the PPTers to carry them and people to upgrade continually. upgraders during strong time zone are unheralded but highly coveted for a server as long as their is a guild to back them up while they manage the lines.

So now that most have to get their “news” about their own server on trolly and very mean-spirited (not all, just most) websites that don’t have any moderation at all ( go look up the forums on wvw – net) due to the inception of the “megaserver”, wvw has become, even for a winning server, a wasteland because we can’t recruit where other’s literally buy their guilds.

HoD won’t buy guilds – but FA has and it’s known throughout our map from those on FA who have told us they are still holding out hope for the REST of our guilds and the standing “orders” for gold is high and wrong.

WvW and the megaserver, along with Anet turning a blind eye to the forums and the innate problems of forums outside because the issues won’t be addressed here, have started their march to destroy a server that at its heart has many wonderful and dedicated players.

PvX teams can no longer easily be recruited because we no longer have Lion’s Arch as the central point for all of our server – now any recruitment done in game is subject to “hey do that somewhere else” even if one does it just once a day – and I do it far less than that and still get the “go away” or much worse reaction/acronyns/emotes.

Megaserver is a failure and a WvW killer.

Wonder where are all those FKB guys that were screaming in lions arch during free transfers to “join the winning server, back to t1” and took every fairweather up and down gold, silver, and bronze work out? I’m pretty sure most of silver is getting a good chuckle and have over under bets on where HOD ends up i tiers atm.

The issue with this quantity vs quality argument, is that everyone here thinks they are the highest quality bamf since gijoe. And everyone else they face are buncha no skill blobs.

Welp. I’m on HoD. I’ve been commanding borderland defense for a while.

IoJ held our hills for 2 days and upgraded it to a full T3. We finally took it back today after 3 golem rushes and 15 of my omegas.

Then everyone left. Within 25 minutes, a guild group from CD rolled in and flipped our entire borderlands blue. All-calls were sent. I asked if anyone was in map, 2 people answered. My last refuge was garri, manning an arrow cart alone on inner garri trying to stop them from taking it. I didn’t.

I spent 17 hours in our BL today working it back to full fortification. 17 hours. It was gone in 30 minutes.

I’ve come to the conclusion that I should probably just leave everything paper, wait for everything to flip, then flip it back. At least then I won’t be down a hundred gold and 17 hours of wasted time, and I’ll get champ bags and WXP.

This is why I logged off when I watched the last keep flip. This is why I’m now posting here before I head off to bed. I’m simply completely and utterly spent, and after all the effort and gold put into defending our BL, I’m not doing it again tomorrow. This has happened 2 days in a row now, and I’m sick of it.

outside of T1, every server has coverage gaps. You hate getting your stuff taken at sea? Well some of us hate getting our stuff taken during early NA. most of silver gets free karma train on CD during EU/early NA and that’s almost 6hrs+. Our strong time zones do the begrudging work of getting it back together knowingly it goes down again next day. Your main time zone needs to buckle down and take responsibility in getting enemy wps down and your own back up if you want to play the ppt game. The ppt game is annoying as hell, but without it it’s hard to gravitate towards an area for a fight.

Sea Kome was what defined Kome and they are good guys/gals. They got lost somewhere when NA took over giving them this reputation. It’s sad to see what Kome has become, but don’t lump all the Kome’s into one group. good luck Kome. In fact, even though they split from CD with all that baggage. Many of us still retain ties to them. because we remember the good times late nights with them.

CD is temporarily closing recruitment. We are going to take this time to consolidate and organize with what we have. Any late NA/sea guilds interested, please hold off for the time being.

We are still interested in and open to discussion for early NA guild(s) (11am-5pm PST). As well as bringing back home some of our old CD friends that left us during the last fiasco. Those are our two priorities that the community will being focusing on.

Without the objectives to PPT, there would be no reason to fight. wvw is supposed to be a war. war is 24/7, there are objectives to attack and defend. It’s much more stressful to ppt. But it is a skillset to itself for those commanders and players that can manage a prolong siege against defended t3 structures. Not to mention some of the best fights we’ve had have been for a keep, tower, or the pug grindhouse of smc. running around in circles for a fight in bl might be fun for some but it’s also boring for others.

We have a michiro on CD, do you even know what a michiro is? i thought so.

NA prime silver league roaming is roaming at half the size of gold. Do you roam in 30+? welcome to silver!

best way to see if we’re a fit for each other is to say hello at the website and setup a ts meeting. looking for NA est guilds that can field 15-25 that are willing to learn and work together. ie: a defensive BL team, a map hopping response team, and a gvg guild to answer the bell for CD during early NA. We are developing gvg teams in it’s infant stages during NA est, and toddlers during late NA and Sea (VII and RI). but more would be nice as we can theory craft together and have some good internal rivalry.

WvW Info:
We are a competitive bunch but also can be chill at same time. When we put our game faces on, it’s serious face calling each other out for going down to try to figure out what we he/she/we did wrong and get better. But when it’s down time, we can hang around roaming trolling maps. We usually run 15-20. We can blob it up with the best of them. But we definitely try our best to hold our own. There’s something about busting a supposed zerg busting guild with a militia blob to make them QQ that brings sweet tears to our eyes.

-Late NA raids (8pm-midnight PST)

-3+ nights/week (usually week nights, not resets)
-Rep required during raids or guild events
-TS mandatory (community ts), for wvw mic not necessary unless you plan to be a part of the core

This is definitely our most competitve group. Pray you are not the only one that went down in a match. If you are the only one that goes down…you will probably never hear the end of it until our next match when someone else takes the kitten kitten hat. But its all in good banter. If you go down in a match, there’s a great possibility a new guy might get the chance to sub in for your position to prove himself. This group understands that we are only as strong as our weakest link.

2 less maps for t2 and below. solves coverage issue a bit for lower tiers. less maps to cover for less populated time zones and can get into the action faster as they are consolidated on only 2 maps. the ppt system has it’s flaws but it’s better than most other options. more maps would only help t1 where they can cover all the maps.

or if it’s 4maps. put them on rotation matchup to matchup, so there’s only 2 at a time.

just decrease the number of maps. Silver and below can barely queue 2 on a good day. NO need for BL maps. EBG seems to be most intense and easy to find fights. Just put 2 ebg maps maybe 3. deal less with getting ninjaed and more on actual fights.

Thanks but if their NA prime…Man I hope they don’t get discouraged. We’re not too sure if it’s a numbers issue during NA prime or just enough effective WvW guilds with TS commanders that can drive to bring them out. We’re trying to get some commanders trained up and their guild groups to roll more fluidly. work in progress.

Bump and Refresh on needs:

-(2)NA prime guilds that can run reset. Fielding 15-30, 3+ nights a week in wvw. Bringing in ~50 players each, if more than 100 we will have to discuss. Not looking for a big guild that can queue a whole map to itself.

-Oceanic team. Even small or large, an effective oceanic team/commanders to give our current contingent some direction. Our late NA runs pretty well, just need someone to cover that gap until our Sea starts rolling.

-havoc teams- always needed and welcomed, can’t have too many.

[Kome] is now gone from CD. can add some newer ones now, [PA], [ICE], [AS], [DNA], [PS], [TOFU], [FXN], [CF], [SOV], [HAX], [BA].

HOD has a good brazilian crew that runs during EU. that’s where their points are had and pickup. round 12pm-5pm server. not many servers on silver have EU coverage. oceanics are big, but most servers can put up a decent fight during oceanic.

We started a friendly tradition amongst CDers a while back. Pretty sure you guys in [Pr] will fit right into this game. just register your guys that will participate on the cd forums.

-Post your current kills before raid/matchup. On thursday night post your final kill count. The difference is our kills for the time frame we’re competing (wednesday-Thursday). We used to post this up prior to one matchup to another in a war report section.
-At end of thursday, we post up our loots. Ascended and precursors only.

This is purely for bragging rights. I’m pretty sure I can get some [PA], [Vow], and [PS] guys in on this. You in [Pr]?

Phase 2: Adjusting our needs.
-Our NA should be fine with the last guild that might be coming. Just a few roamer guilds during NA should suffice. Any guild bigger than 30 looking to join please contact us first, we don’t want a 3map queue like HOD for NA.

-looking for a 15-30man late NA/oceanic group to round us out. Seems we are still sparse on commanders here. Or even a couple roaming guilds that run this late that can tag up and hold things down. Can contact gyps for oceanics mainly or myself if late NA.

I’ve added Ohbe (Ohbe.9761) as a new point of contact for NA. He’s been extremely helpful in getting alot of our stuff organized. A CD native that came back to help us blob as well as BG. I will be on vacation from the 21-29. Ohbe will make serenade you until you transfer to us.

On a side note; we are welcoming our new guilds today at 9pm server in new lions arch. We were able to meet our minimum quota for the first phase. Which is pre march 18.

What we are still looking for:
-Roaming guilds always welcome, can never have enough scouts and open field trolls
-another mid size wvw/pvx guild fielding 20-30 on reset nights and possibly 2 other nights.
-Commanders- we lack commander coverage during oceanic, perhaps a small oceanic crew can fill that role. More importantly NA commanders just present on map coordinating small teams and scouts while the main forces are map hopping.

To note: all the guilds that have chosen to come here, come here with the understanding that NA is our weakest and it’s an uphill battle. It still is and that’s the way we like it to be. We want a tighter knit NA community going into the thick of things not a karma train. This is not a numbers game for us, this is a quality game.
