I could see exceptions being made for helms and shoulder pieces, since you can turn those off completely, anyway. (that and I really, really want an eyepatch for my Warrior.) Aside from that, no, it would start creating issues in WvW, for starters.

Because there is nothing more satisfying than curb stomping people with the lowest tier class in PvP.

If you’re using shouts heavily, you might want to give soldier runes a shot, doubly so if you’re aiming for a more defensive build. The additional CR is a godsend in PvP as well as PvE.

Lyssa is more for offensive builds, since you can get perma fury with that.

I have an idea. i’m no game designer or anything, but I think it’s a good one.

Remove the AOE limit on siege weapons.

Since there is already a limit on how any SW you can place in one keep, that should prevent SWs from turning into a turtle defense. At the same time, SWs have weaknesses that players do not. (Cannot be moved unless it’s a golem, can’t be repaired, fixed range, cost gold/badges time and supply to build each one, can be destroyed before they are even built, must be manned to do anything, etc.)

This would avoid the issues of removing AoE limits on player skills, while still making zergs far less effective, since anyone who just mindlessly smacks the gate will get Roflpwned by Arrow Carts/ Oil.

Just my 2 cents.

y’r all doing it wrong…
use sword-axe for flurry(immobilize)+whirling axe. sword 2 is gap closer get some bull rush or something and greatsword no. 5 rush. You don’t even need a speedbuff.

Also the signet of rage gives decent swiftness for a long period of time. so you don’t need the passive speedbuff.

Flurry is unreliable in my opinion. It works in lower tier WvWvW but.. yea…
What you say about SoR and swiftness is definitely correct though.
There is no need for passive speed buffs as long as you utilize SoR correctly.

If anyone wants to argue that you need more than 30s of swiftness… let’s be brutally honest with ourselves… if a fight lasts more than 30s with a warrior…
A) The warrior and the opponent both suck
B) The opponent is a warrior as well
C) Wha….?

Assuming these are minor skirmishes

D) A Skilled Warrior fighting a Guardian. That bubble shield is so annoying, JUST DIE ALREADY! I once had an SPvP 1v1 fight with a guardian that lasted over two minutes thanks to that skill.

I’ve actually found that setting up your warrior to stack conditions works wonders. For example, with an earth rune GS, you can easily stack bleeding, Crippled, and Vulnerability in a single hit. Your target will use their CR almost every time. When they do, Bolas, Rush, HB, good night.

And if they don’t CR? Rush in and lay the smacketh down while they’re crippled.

Having trouble with your own CR? Runes of the Soldier. Shake it off noew removes 2 conditions from both you and your allies, FGJ now does buffs AND CR. Combine that with the Auto-Balanced Stance trait from the defense line, and you become the Juggernaut. You can even combine that with the Dolyak Signet for even more FUN for your enemies, though that is kinda overkill.

I have yet to try this, but I’m also certain that running a Dual Wielding build with Sigils of Generosity+Nullification could be really rage-inducing, especially when paired with the above skills.

I have never had issues playing a Warrior in WvW or sPvP.

I’m just going to throw this out there: The Rapids level needs more checkpoints, due to how… glitchy, the hit detection is on the rapids. I’ve had cases where I’d be swept away mid jump, or swept away and hit a rock, only to be teleported further down the rapids to my doom, or knocked off my feet while standing perfectly still on a platform.

That level almost made me throw my computer through a wall.

Kick is already good enough as is. Fast cooldown, comes out nearly instantly, knocks back, can know people off cliffs in pvp, leads to combo setups with Bull rush and Bolas.

I mean, if you buffed kick any more, then every Warrior in PvP would turn into this:

Well, yes, you do have to give up a good chunk of your utility bar, but on the other hand, the number one problem warriors face in PVP is the fact that they are terrible at removing conditions. Soldier runes help counter that, doubly so if you use shouts anyway. It’s not ideal, but given that warriors are pretty much Roll tier in PvP, you take what you can get. (Note to self: Create PvP Warrior flow chart.)

This is all opinion of course. What works for one person may not work for another.

Soldier runes may seem weak, at first… then you realize that your shouts not only affect you, but up to 5 of your allies as well, and your shake it off! ability now removes two conditions instead of one. This gets DEVASTATING when combined with Auto Balanced stance and Endure pain from defense traits. (freeing up your utility slots for more shouts.)

Shake it off + For Great justice + Soldier runes + Defense Traits+ Friends = kittenolololol (especially in PvP, a warrior that refuses to submit to condition effects gets REAL annoying, REAL fast.)

I find it works for me, at least.

Once you get the slingshot or the bombs, to use them you have to have ammo. What’s the ammo? YOUR BAUBLES.

(In Zelda 1, you used your Rupees as ammo for your bombs, bow and arrow, etc.)

So many references to classic 80’sand 90’s games are sprinkled all over the SAB. Here are a few that I’ve found.

-Fairly obvious, but the Wagon Smashing bonus game is clearly inspired by the Car Crusher mini-Game from Final Fight/ Street Fighter. The dwarf (?) stepping out and saying “Aww, my wagon!” Was a dead giveaway.

-The map screen that pops up between levels looks eerily like the one from Golden Axe.

-The whole of adventure mode has clear inspirations from Zelda.

-The whip is based on the one in castlevania. It even has a near identical animation.

-Ninjas throwing stars and charging at you with swords on a narrow bridge with gravity defying gaps? Sounds like Ninja Gaiden/Revenge of shinobi to me. (FYI it’s Ninja GUY-DEN, not GAY-DEN. And you must say GAI-DEN like that dude from The Wizard or it doesn’t count.)

-Several sound effects sound like the came right out of an atari 2600 game. I would not be surprised if ANet sampled an atari game or two.

-Speaking of sound effects, does that sound the NPC’s make when speaking seem familiar to you? You probably played a few SNES RPGs as a kid. In fact, that EXACT sound is used for menu navigation in Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. (Relax, it’s probably public domain.)

Open world PvP being shoehorned into a game that is not built around it is a recipe for disaster. Let’s just get that out of the way.

Now, this is purely subjective, but in the past 8 years I’ve been playing MMOs, a good amount of which was playing on PvP servers in games like WoW and Aion. I have never been in a fair fight on these servers. Either I was getting ganked, or doing the ganking. Period. Flagging systems don’t help, either; they are far too easy to abuse or exploit.

Bottom line, OWPvP does not belong in GW2, and never will. It would have been in the game from the get go if the developers had any intention of adding it.

While I think that raising the AoE cap to about 10 or so might be a good idea, I believe that removing it entirely is just asking for trouble. It was put into the game for a reason, folks. Ulimited target AoEs +Combo spam would simply be too powerful.

It might make more sense to have uncapped AoEs on Seige weapons only, since seige weapons have inherent weaknesses. (Can’t defend themselves, stuck in place once built and therefore have limited range, can’t be repaired, require both money and supply to build just one,must be manned at all times to be of use.) THAT I could see alleviating zergfests without being broken.

Zergs in WvW are an issue, yes. The solution to this is NOT to turn WvW into an AoE turtle-fest.

Be careful what you wish for, folks. Just because it sounds good on paper does not mean it’s good in practice.

This nerf was on it’s way for a long time. Double attack speed is just plain broken. I play a great sword warrior, and I can tell you from firsthand experience that ANY Stun/Knockdown/Immobilization+Frenzy+Hundred Blades was flat out broken.

Which is why you saw so many terribad kitten zerker warriors in PvP. Frenzy made it viable, even if you had no clue what you were doing.

I can’t speak for other professions, though I hear that mesmers were even worse in this reguard.

Well, here it is folks, proof positive that GW2 is finished. They’re changing the way chest drops work so that they can’t be exploited anymore, which as we all know is the only reason anyone plays this game. Now Guild Wars 2 is ruined FOREVER! The sky is falling! The game is doomed! Doomed I say!

Arenanet adds in guesting for players loyal to their servers who want to still play with their friends. Player abuse the system by farming bosses and create huge overflow problems across servers. Players QQ about guesting problems.

Arenanet seeks to solve above problem by changing the loot system so that players can only be garunteed 1 rare a day, giving players no reason to farm and thus, reducing overflow problems. Players stop QQing about guesting, and start QQing about loot drop nerfs.

This is why I refuse to work in Customer Service. There is no pleasing you people!!!

There’s no pleasing “you people” because ANet is inept. Instead of just preventing chests from guesting, which is the most sensible way to prevent the “guesting issue”, they nerf the drops themselves.

ANet went around championing this game as having no grind, yet all they do is make the game MORE grindy. It makes no sense.

If you never received rewards ANY rewards for guesting at all, what would be the point of guesting in the first place? Good luck ever seeing massive bosses on low pop servers, which is what the guesting system was designed for!

Preventing guests for getting chests would be the dumbest move ever.

I’ve so far recreated this bug Using a Greatsword/Rifle combo, But I suspect that there may be more combinations possible.

It’s easy enough to recreate. Rush and Swap weapons at the same time. It seems to have no practical use, but it is funny.

I would honestly just be happy if I had a Mortal Kombat voice say “FINISH HIM!” whenever I down somebody in PvP.

If someone did that with a cow token, would that be changed to “ANIMALITY?” or “FRIENDSHIP?” (Friendship? Again?)

I’m actually surprised that they haven’t added more PvP finishers to the gem store, the potential is endless. Ripping out their soul, dropping an Anvil on the Looney Tunes Style, Tap dancing on the poor guy, and of course, pile driving a shark into them. (You young-un’s will not get that last one.)

Back on topic, I’m sure that the makers of UT have the rights to that guy’s performance, and I’m not sure how the Srs Business crowd would take such a thing anyway.

Runes of Blood+Defy Pain

I have a question for you higher level folks. Has anyone tested to see what happens when you have the Mist form ability from the runes of blood and Defy Pain on the same character?

Do they share a cooldown? Will they activate at the same time if the conditions are met for both? Or will they work separately to give you two ways to stave off being downed?

This makes me want to make a character named Ford Pinto.

Said character would be an Engineer, for obvious reasons.

I once found a character named “I kick Puppies”. I blocked that player… It was the only name I noticed I didn’t want to look at in chat. I have not seem other names that are “offensive” to me.

That’s sick, demented, and horribly offensive. I’ll be adding him/her/it to my friends list immediately.
