I would not be complaining here if it’s my fiber internet problem. I guess all these JP type of games just don’t work well when you connect from Asia without Asia servers. Even doing a static JP has lag issues. It’s just worst when it’s a 10 players competing JP game. And you can imagine now why most servers have little WvW oceanic coverage because of lag issues and the community is not so friendly just from the response of this thread.

It’s not just you. My internet beats about 99% of the US in terms of speed and I STILL have issues with Sanctum Sprint. The mini game is simply broken.

Theres a bartender that sells the belching game for use with friends. It costs 5s for 1 use though. And 100G for unlimited uses

100g is a bit much for most players. Unless they give it out as a reward for beating the grandmaster, most people will never obtain that drink.

The controls are very easy to get used to, and are also well suited to a gamepad if you’re a clicker and/or find it more comfortable.

The controls are easy, and as far as I can tell I don’t think much can be done to improve them aside from an In-Game joystick mapping function.

Give the dungeon a go. I’d avoid grabbing a PUG unless you absolutely have to, because this dungeon can’t be facerolled the way, say, CoF P1 can, and many people will quit when they can’t figure out why spamming 100 Blades isn’t working.

I agree with you OP, by trying to remove the trinity they also removed any kind of party based tactics. Imagine trying to play chess with only pawns or only kings. This meta then now supports DPS only, I want to gouge my eyes out when I see a guardian/mesmer with a staff in my party or any condition speced player.

The reason so many people spec Zerker for PvE and get away with it isn’t because of the lack of trinity, it’s that boss fights are simply too easy and don’t do anything to counter these tactics.

ANet should seriously consider calling SNK for tips. because none of the bosses in this game keep me on my toes. We NEED harder content once in a while.

Of course, if we make dungeons harder, people will just whine about it being too difficult…

Back on topic, as a warrior myself, anyone who says that ANet favors warriors over anyone else has clearly never played one. Go make a warrior and play them in Spvp or WvW for a day, then come back and tell me they’re OP with a straight face.

I personally wouldn’t mind if the game gave you the occasional chance to make morally dubious decisions, but I’m pretty sure one of the lead designers stated that such things were not part of ANet’s vision for the game.

The number of Old Guard type players infesting a lot of popular MMO-centric websites is staggering, doubly so when talking about sandbox games.

Every time I hear someone say “trammel Ruined UO.” I want to reach through my screen and strangle them. Ditto for things like “Auction Houses Destroy the Community, we should go back to player shops,” “Full-Loot FFA PvP is the only type of PvP worth playing,” “I want a game with Permadeath.” etc.

These people often fail to realize that the reason these ideas were dropped from most modern MMOGs is because they were terrible ideas that very few people enjoyed. It’s thinking like this that has killed a lot of promising Indie MMOs, I might add.

I run a bunker hammer warrior with runes of the soldier and shout traits. My teammates LOVE me.

The thing you need to remember about being bunker is that it’s not about being able to take more damage per se, it’s about being able to take more risks and recover from mistakes.

A team of 3 bunker warriors with hammers are more than capable of suicide rushing an exposed cata/treb, stunlocking the defenders, and taking it out before going down.

I don’t know if we’ll see any change, but reading over the forums, it looks like NCSoft/Arenanet are spending a lot of their loyalty capital in this event. In other words, they may be trading relationships with their playerbase for gem money.

Indeed, and this is a REALLY bad time to do so, what with Rift going F2P tomorrow, and Archeage, EQnext, and ESO on the horizon.

Now is the time to convince people to stay, ANet, not start ticking off your fanbase. You are capable of more than this.

This has to be one of the most dissapointing events I’ve done so far in an MMO. The ENTIRE event is nothing more than a massive grind with a few gold sinks thrown in. And the fact that the spawns aren’t shared, something that this game has up to now been staunchly against, leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. The insane exploits going on in Dragon Ball aren’t helping, either.

And another RNG chest. I have no problem with RNG cosmetics, but holy crap ANet how many of these things do you need to throw at us before you give us something else?! It just reeks of desperation.

Between things like this and the severe lack of new content, I’m thinking of taking my money elsewhere.

They could simply be placeholder icons for an up coming/planned/scrapped controller patch. Many PC games in recent years have built in 360 controller support, and given personal experience, I’d say that native support for the 360 controller wouldn’t be that hard to do in GW2.

Untill the day comes where an in-game voice chat system is made that ALL players can hear, you will never see any tactics in WvW more advanced than “Gather on the blue dorito.”

If I wanted a game where real, historical tactics mattered, I’d go play Mount and Blade (Mainly because not doing so gets you killed, fast.). Trying those same tactics in GW2 is a logistical nightmare.

I wanted to look this up after coming up with an RP concept for my character, but I was stunned that there was almost nothing google could come up with regarding this topic.
How is Kinslaying viewed in Tyria? Can it be justified? Would a Kinslayer be exiled from their home, even if they had good reason? Is it an unforgiveable sin in Tryia? There really seems to be no lore on it as far as I can tell.

Any information would be appreciated.

You won’t generally see too many inter-species relationships, but I’m sure they’re out there. With some races more than others. You also have to consider the opinions of their peers, which will be more important to some races than others; sylvari wouldn’t have too many problems, but for a charr it would be very difficult.

Who would want to have a relationship with a charr anyway.

Given how close the two races are, I imagine than Norn/Charr realtionships are not unheard of.

I endorse this thread. A few cutesy items here are fine, but I do agree that it’s getting out of hand. Not everyone wants their character wearing a Panda hat.

I think, to counterract this, the next set of gem store skins should be designed by Todd McFarlane.

That’t probably because for months and months we continuously stomped you. Congrats on your improved NA presence since last we fought, it’s is nice to not see the outmanned buff on IoJ during every single primetime. Also congrats on remaining to be the only server below t4 with a massive oceanic presence, maybe now you guys can stop dropping after 5 tiers and actually go back to being a solid higher tier server. Unless DR gets massive oceanic and EU transfers of at least 50 or so people, we will never survive again above t6/t7. Every one is entitled to their own opinions but there is only so much a 6 hour NA primetime can accomplish, no matter how good it is, there are still 18 hours in the day.

Oh, I see. You’re just mad that we’re not always outmanned and you can’t zerg farm us for easy badges anymore. You can wave charts in my face all you want, but i hope you realize that those charts also show that you aren’t able to beat us even when our friends down under aren’t there to help us.

You can trash talk all you want, but don’t get mad when it’s shown that you can’t back it up.

Guardian bubbles don’t protect against arrow carts. They’d have been used all along if they did.

Now that I tihnk about it, that doesn’t make any sense. Why would they make ACs unblockable?! That just seems… stupid.

It has always been like that. AC’s should not be blockable, they should just deal reasonable damage and apply pressure to groups. You know, what they did before this ’’gamebreak patch".

Imagine AC being classified as projectiles. 1 Feedback would blow it up, you would have to be careful not to hit a wall of reflection or an engi. And so many skills would stop it completely. That would be broken as well.

I’m probably just looking at this from the wrong angle. I mean, if your troops were being rained on by arrows, wouldn’t the first thing you do to protect yourselves is put up a shield wall/ turtle shell formation/phalanx/etc?

While it may be sound gameplay wise, my inner medieval warfare enthusiast just wants to scream “WHY IS THE MAGIC SHIELD WALL (Sanctuary) NOT STOPPING THE ARROWS?!?!?”

Well, considering that I was one of 3 people who started one of the largest wars over SM T6 has ever seen, that trebs can hit walls from a range that not even buffed ACs can reach, and that Cows are God-Tier at clearing towers out, I beg to differ.

Also, if you’re laying down siege in areas where you KNOW they are going to be shot down without taking out whatever could attack them or putting them over a bubble, you’re doing it wrong.

With suply being stalled like never before due to latest camp buff changes and making low value siege like rams unusable things are over the top harder to mantain a proper siege against a defended position.Not to mention unneficient against same or larger defending force.Outmanned should just log off now cuz no way in hell anyone can cap anything.Anet basicly buffed the strongest server and you guys agree with it.

How about we leave arrow carts as is for a week or two and see how the meta plays out? If it ends up making zerg rushes far less effective and forces players to be smart about how they play WvW… then good, keep the AC Buff. If there are unexpected problems however, then perhaps ACs should be toned down.

Knowing this, who in their right mind would walk up and try to PvDoor a fort? It doesn’t matter how many people you have, it only takes one person to drop the pot of burning oil/tar on your head. For those wondering how in the world a huge fight started over stonemist, you can thank me, Midnight, and Sir Albert Bates for that.

It all started with us being bored, and deciding to Treb SM for fun. We set up 2 trebs and started hitting SM. Then the wall went down…

Then one of our officers decided to actually try to take SM, and meanwhile DR charged in and started attacking SM themselves. Before you know it, there’s a huge 3 way battle in the lord’s room between IoJ, DH, and DR that is nearly crashing the server, and those 2 trebs turned into 7!

Because Hammer Warriors are God Tier in WvW.

3-6 Hammer Warriors with Leg Specialist and Fear Me can CC an entire Zerg on their own. Then you add soldier runes and Healing Shouts, and your group of warriors can faceroll WvW as long as they work together and don’t do anything stupid. It’s insane.

Guardian and Necro.

Guardinas give you the defensive boons while you dish out the damage.

Necros can death grip enemies toward you for your HBing pleasure. (Or, if you feel like trolling, kicking them off the edge of a cliff.)

Anything that changes the game client itself (A.K.A. a mod/hack) is against the ToS and an instant ban.

And chances are you’ll also get a virus from downloading the hack itself. Most of them are trojans of some kind. So it’s a DOUBLY bad idea.

I use an Xpadder setup and an Xbox 360 controller.

Depending on what kind of character you play, it works quite well. If you plan to forgo your mouse entirely, i would avoid any classes that rely on targeted skills. Cursor movement with a gamepad is kinda wonky and slow.

There was a thread that had a link to a setup made specifically for GW2. I’d have to go digging to find it, though.
