Thats fair enough. But would anyone like to comment on the record page after the community agreed to let Weth host records?
I have no idea who was actually responsible for that. But it was a great eye opener for those who were more on the fence about certain DnT member attitudes. Unfortunately it got removed fairly fast after discovery. I assume to prevent mass public outrage.
After Weth’s first iteration of the records module on gw2dungeons, I personally deleted the page from our forums seeing as it was no longer the “official” records board (not implying the DnT records page was official in any capacity). The only reason it was up during the interim was because people were still submitting records while Weth was developing the website.
You are obviously unaware or claiming to be unaware of what that page was edited to show shortly afterwards. It required a direct link to view but it was quite an amusing immature response to the community decision.

Also i keep seeing people imply that there is some conspiracy with how Weth took charge and im involved as well. The funny thing is i had never actually spoken one on one to Weth until after i became a record approver. I hardly knew him (proves how little he actually interacted with rT even while he was a member). And since then the only conversations we have had are strictly to do with gw2dungeons.net and record stuff.

naked only bring muffins
Dont forget the 2 second cast shout!
299 800 000 000 to be exact
wat
That is what happens when you use “,” instead of “.” to represent a decimal place.
But to be fair if you had actually meant 2998 * 10^8 you would have used 2.998 * 10^11. And obviously you were stating the speed of light so he should know better.

I hope thats what it changes to eventually. Or better yet. Right from release.
Hmm yeah ok. Swear they mentioned something about new tech in the reaper preview though.
Our shouts scale with targets. Thats new tech afaik. Pretty boring new tech if you ask me but it is still new tech.
Im rather disappointed that the warhorn blows instead of sucks.
I have unfriended and blocked you
P.S. I’m starting to doubt about the stunbreak. I could’ve sworn it’s group-wide because I saw it in action, but I’m wondering if it was before the trait rework, when there was still the old trait… my memory betrays me… whatever. I’ll just kill spojski if it’s not.
Wahh. Was it because i made the same joke twice? :>

If base necro was decent. Reaper would be vastly superior as an elite spec compared to tempest. The only things wrong with reaper is the shouts and the base class. Whereas Tempest only has the shouts. The rest is bad. And the shouts wont be chosen over other current utilities.
Put it this way. Imagine necro didnt have a lack of active defence or projectile blocks or combo finishers. Then look at reaper traits. They all make sense and they are decent (apart from the shout trait which should be baseline). Then look at the tempest. Im thinking i dont want any of them but thank kitten base ele is god tier. The tempest minors are literally all about overloading. Which makes no sense. Overloading is tempest only. Those minors should be baseline or optional. Reaper at least has 2 minors which work on more than just our new stuff lol.

Annnnnnnnnnd now I agree they dump on our shouts. They deal more damage with shorter cast times (when they even have one), lots of cool effects (though I think some of our shouts are cool in concept). And some of their utility is just absolutely insane, an AoE stunbreak on 10s ICD, what the actual kitten.
I found it quite surprising that Karl also works on thief just like Robert also works on mesmer. Nothing is final yet and I’m pretty sure there will be a beta for specializations just for HoT they’ll try to not make it suck. Again they don’t see the game like we do.
Afaik they all work on all of them. Just some are representatives of certain classes because of various reasons.
Wait, you have to be specialized to tempest to use a warhorn?
Yes. But i hope they re-evaluate this decision before future elite specs are released. Gonna be pretty stupid to be locked out of weapon choices because of elite spec choices.
I can see why they would do it initially though. Encourage those HoT sales.
Magnetic aura shout could possibly be useful. Group reflect without having to go earth attune on staff. :P
Being underpaid in such an environment doesnt sound encouraging.
running to target doesnt solve the current problem of blasting in line fields.
People could just use common sense. Like its fairly obvious when a tactic is questionable. Which is why i really dont understand why people were in such a hissy over getting called out on the fimbul immob thing. Anyone could see that was getting into major unrestricted territory.
But yes i think if its not on the rules it should be allowed. However thats for a ruleset which doesnt have the intent of being “restricted”. Which is why starting over and re-branding is a good idea.
Hes clearly referring to me. I may promote unrestricted. But the issues i have had with approving records are nothing to do with that. Also as an approver i make sure i understand the intended difference between restricted and unrestricted. Unfortunately the people submitting dont seem to put the same effort in and the difference has become blurred in recent months.
So even if all that needs changing is rewording of current rules. The meeting will still be useful to decide on whether to just go to a singular ruleset for 5 man groups. And a singulur ruleset for small man groups. Merge restricted and unrestricted together and avoid using the names which clearly misrepresent the rulesets. Hash it out in one go. Voting takes time to sort out. With a meeting it can all be decided and discussed in one go.
Not really. 5 blasts requiring 5 targets. In most situations you wont get that. And well on a lot of fields its not that strong. And in other cases the number of blasts is already completely covered by teammates. So no i dont think its broken.
You’d have up to 25 blasts across your skills, many of them on lower CDs than single blast finishers in those situations, it is absolutely 100% undeniably broken, and the only way it wouldn’t be is if they completely gutted the shouts.
There are plenty of things in the game already that could easily be considered insanely broken. And they are certainly more powerful than a situational 5 blast skill on a class which has a lack of fields. Icebow, lightning storm, meteor shower are some good examples. Then theres phalanx strength trait. The sheer number of blasts ele has on its weapons. Timewarp now that it has slow. Ring of Earth for projectile defence. Mimic… You get the idea.
1. Those are only broken in PvE, your suggestion would be broken in everything
2. You don’t balance a game by making everything awfully designed/balanced, your suggestion would just be Dumbfire 2.0 and would end with shouts being worthless.
I didnt mean on all the shouts. I just meant one of them lol. The shouts are already gutted so yeah…
That would be insanely broken.

Blast finishers per extra target hit might make me run one of the shouts. Otherwise nope. Still all bad.
Even if they nerfed icebow there would still be meteor shower. Even if they nerfed all impact type AoE’s. There would still be the fact that thief/ele/engi/guard all out dps necro without icebow/staff ele. And buffs are important. So no, a 5 necro team will never be faster. The frontload burst of those wells really isnt that impressive especially when your group isnt buffing you.
That said. 5 necros could still melt things pretty fast. It will just never compete with more optimised groups. Just swapping 1 necro to a phalanx warrior would already increase the entire groups output by a huge amount. Every swap you make gives higher returns in various ways. So thief and mesmer speed things up on a stealth/portal level on top of damage.

Doesnt require teamspeak. We have this wonderful functionality called control click to link skills to chat.
Weapon swap OOC just for Engis and Eles seems quite unfair.
Its not just for eles and engis. The other classes already have weapon swap. This is simply asking for normalising of the number of possible equipped weapons and QoL for weapon swapping OOC like all the other classes have already.
Ele shouts are better than reaper shouts. But eles wont use them. And thats because eles have plenty of good utility already. Same cant really be said for necro. But we still wont use our shouts. Because even with our limited choice they are still poor.
Just do the oldschool method of buying lost orrian jewelry boxes.
You can use your own ruleset on tournaments.
Grats on full collection! Jelly
RNG Is a Cruel Mistress :S Oh shield and dagger.. where art thou..? Not alot of armor/weapon chests.. since.. I have 10+ Chars with 1-3 Full ascended sets each and full weapon sets @ 85+ AR. Also spent over 30-40k Fractal relics.
What the actual HELL.
Not only am I surprised to see someone with more fotm relics/pristines than Taku, but dear kittening lord at that karma and gold pile as well.
Nice stash lmao
But look at those casual dungeon token amounts. :>
I suppose. I just dont think anyone would care to use the feature. Most are only concerned with current records. And the only all times people care about are the true all time records. As in never been done faster on any version of the game or ruleset.
When reaper shouts were revealed i knew i would never use them. This just rubs salt in the wound.
I dont see how that was rude.
And yes theres no reason why we would say they cant vote just because they havent done any records recently. Unless someone has a complaint. Which is why i said that.
Having eras just adds a complex filter system that noone will use. Which is why all times should just be left as all time regardless of whether they are beatable or not and regardless of rule changes. Doesnt our filter system work on all time records anyway?
Do you have a specific guild you have a complaint about? If not you are just speaking pointless hypotheticals.
I agree this would be a really nice quality of life fix. There are problems with relying on H panel.
First you have less bag space because you cannot equip two different weapon sets. Then theres the issue of swapping from dual wielded weapons to two handers. Without proper equipment bags the offhand goes off somewhere in the inventory. This has always annoyed me on engi/ele because if i swap to a dual set then i have a gap in my inventory which loot randomly fills and then when i swap back it messes up.
Its a QoL fix. And a bloody nice one. Fully support it.
Its not necessary in PvE. If you are using the dagger build it literally only provides two things. Strength of Undeath and traited Lich. So depending on your groups optimisation you may end up dropping it for curses/blood. Spite is the mandatory line for PvE though.
Am i the only one with a collection of rings the size of an ocean but barely any ascended chests and fractal skins? By ocean i mean 3 bank tabs and a whole character inventory with extra bags.
Generally speaking any skill which has a cast time of over 1 second has serious problems at being effective. JW is just within the boundary so it shouldnt have much of an issue. CttB is way over the boundary. So its almost useless. It really is that simple.
Whats the 4th item along on the top? Between the tequatl hoard and the fractal harpoon.
“You dont have to use it” is not justification for a skill being bad. JW isnt bad. Yes revs are forced into it if they equip the shiro legend. But the skill itself is decent at what it does. The same cant really be said about CttB. You can compare them. But the truth is you shouldnt focus on the comparison too much. They simply need to be good on their own. Currently CttB isnt. But JW is.
The way i am looking at it is
- you can cover it will stability
- can chain it with other skills to make it land
- can be made unblockable
- a chilled target, even with swiftness, will not be able to escape the 600 radius. Because of this you can force evades, skill usage or force an engage to attempt to counter it cast. Not sure if you can cancel its cast to bait as well.
It can do with some changes but even as it stands I cant view it as entirely useless. Plus the skill does 4 things. Chill, damage, stab, stun.
Its like the most obvious skill ever. Even with major setup they are going to dodge it without fail. And considering the damage and stun duration it is not worth casting with that cast time. It is entirely useless.
If you want to disable someone why would you use CttB when you can use warhorn.
(edited by spoj.9672)
You cannot do anything with a 2 second cast. Its like churning earth. Noone gets hit by that.
Jade Winds is at least useful. CttB is not with its current cast time. So no it is not better than Jade Winds.
CttB is just flat out bad with that cast time. And the cool down doesnt exactly help.
We dont really need 2 rulesets anymore. The original idea behind having 2 was because restricted was to play as close to as intended by anet so people wouldnt feel bad about posting videos of them exploiting (noone seems to care anymore). And unrestricted was just for those of us who didnt care and wanted to maintain some semblence of the pre ruleset state of records.
Since people are heavily exploiting mechanics in restricted now. I think its safe to assume bad rep in the eyes of anet is not a concern anymore. And unrestricted is far too broad and unpopular so it has no competition. People who really care about completely unrestricted dont really do them to submit anyway. So it makes more sense to have a single unified ruleset now that the community has shifted dont you think?
(edited by spoj.9672)
WHAT?
Sorry but you should have seen my reaction when i read that.
People dont have a problem with fimbul, shoggroth, sub 6 though. The problem was allowing them in restricted. Which was supposed to be a ruleset about playing as close to as intended as possible.
abcd are just clarifications of 9. Not individual rules.
Yep just noticed. Edited. x)
Makes it even worse. :>
Shouts with cast times at all are so unfortunate. Also note how Chilled To The Bone is very nearly identical to the Revenant Jade Winds. They could have been so much more creative here.
Almost identical yet Jade Winds has no cool down (high energy cost) and a 1 second cast time. And CttB has a 120 second cool down and a 2 second cast time. Is that not just so incredibly awkward that its just hilarious? Even with the energy cost you can use jade wind way more frequently. And its so much better simply because of the low cast time and similar damage.
