Wearing a level 3 back slot item, I’m 80 , never had a item like that drop or one on the tp.
They drop a lot since last patch. At least in the new dungeon. And some back pieces specific to each old dungeon exists too.

You don’t need more than one vial as far as we know, unless you REALLY want to craft more than one kind of back piece which would be a huge waste of money in the first place
Wow it keeps getting better… I just found out that because I couldn’t log in 7 hours ago for the final event, I missed out on a free, one-time uber accessory which will cost 1000 shells or about 20 gold (based on current trading post prices) otherwise.
So now, you not only have to be a “dedicated player” running FotM 24×7, you need to log in at specific times too? Seriously… what the hell happened.
It is not uber. It is an accessory with no strong point and just spread out stats all over the place.

No it isn’t. It would be insane too if it was done since getting to level 20 or so would require a LOOOT of time per week spent doing it in a burst.

In all cases, even if I suddenly received ascended stuff in my mailbox when I login next time, I’ll not be happy because I spent too much gold getting multiple exotic sets for various stat builds because I though I’d never need to replace them.
But just to be sure : you cannot get the ascended rings until you complete level 10, and level 10 is the first stage with Agony and without Agony resist it’s practically impossible to complete it right? Anyone can say otherwise?

Also if your not willing to help people 2 things will happen. One peole will get left behind and it will be evan harder to get people at your level and 2 why should i help you if you ever go below me
In all cases, the truth is level 1 players find groups much faster than others. The higher you go the harder it is to group so all that complaining is moot.
Well, I wouldn’t mind too much helping people on their fractals. But requiring a level 5 player is a good filter for the terrible PUGs XD It’s a shame that it filters very good players that didn’t play that instance yet though.
The level 1 runs I did were harder than the later levels. The higher level I go the easier it is.
On that note, everyone reading the forums make sure you buy your karka shells when you get home while they are cheap.

i have personally dc’ed 4 times at about the end of scale 1, so i know how frustrating this is.
but letting u back in there with the rest of ur pt is not an option. all you would have to do would be to relog and re-enter everytime you die in there. making the fractals impossible to fail, kinda defeats the purpose of not having waypoints in there.
You know that short of ending up naked, there’s no way to fail the fractals right? When everyone dies you just respawn at the checkpoint.
BY THE TIME AGONY IS EVEN RELEVENT YOU HAVE RAN FRACTALS ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO CRAFT INFUSIONS with the exception of Karka Shells (which ANet) expects players to play in the new lands.
By the time Agony is relevant, you’ll NEVER have the mats to craft an ascended back piece unless you were rich to begin with. Infusions need a piege of gear to be socketed into you know?

I’m level 1 and instead of making a full group of level 1, I demand that level 9 group here that is missing one member to grind me up my fractals level.

Here is the problem – this is a MMO. The world does not, and will not stay stagnant. You guys can’t have it both ways. You can’t have a game where you get the best gear and then there is nothing to go to from there AND a game that continues to expand on itself by creating new content and, inevitably, gear.
Wrong. A MMO can be non stagnant without turning into Progess Quest. GW1 managed it right. Of course there was a couple items introduced that were impossible to get before, mainly a few stat combinations but even so, it was just that, not items that plainly obsolete your current gear.
There is also a new MgF/Vit/Tuf in the Fractals. It’s called Wayfarer.
Talk about a selfish build XD Well pure Vit/Toughness could be useful for a couple strats in a couple fractals but …

Oh I don’t want a dedicated healer, I just want healing to be a viable option for sustaining fights. Take my thief. If I stack all healing gear and use my heal that heals on hits, with 300 healing I heal for 103 per hit and 1k healing I heal for 149 a hit. 700 points of healing and it only scales for 50 hp? Same goes for the healing sigils(water/blood), they will heal for like 400 where the sigil of air will hit for 1k.
Heals suffer the same way conditions do except worse. They are scaled lower, cannot crit, and stack in duration. Then there is the fact that there are a lot more damage abilities than their are healing. Healing should scale equally as well as damage at the very least. I should be able to use my thiefs on hit heal and outheal a 3 stack of bleeds but honestly I can’t. 1 thief DB without any condition damage will apply 3 stacks of bleeds for 10s at 42.5 per tick x 3 per second for 127.5 per second. Even with 300 healing and doing 1 hit a second I can’t outheal it and that’s ignoring the direct damage it also does lol.
That signet is so powerful XD You just aren’t using the right skills to make it work. Try calltrops, Death Blossom, Cluster Bomb with or without detonation and Poison Cloud. Try Pistol Whip.
Pistol Whip = 9 attacks that AoE 3 targets, you can make that a 4050 HP heal with maxed Healing Power if you get max targets hit. And you evade during the animation so you don’t take damage.
If you go healing power, try also Leeching Venoms trait. Or funnier, all the heal on stealth traits you can find and shadow refuge and friends. C&D with all those heals gets you nearly 2k HP each usage if you let the stealth finish naturally.
Regen buffs stack in duration.

I still have a little hope that we’ll be able to use that gift of ascension to turn any exotic into an ascended item sooner or later XD I just hope it won’t ask me for 250 ectos and 250 charged lodestones in the process.
The problem I have with gating mechanics, is that if you accept them in a game, you don’t know where they will be applied in the future.
It can be a gating, or it can not be. Are we missing content without that stat? It’s perfectly possible for them to have that agony gating thing that doesn’t unlock anything meaningful at all while still providing incentives for people that like Progress Quest to get as much of that stat as possible and where we who don’t want that can dismiss the feature altogether without loss.
Of course, it’s probably too hard for ArenaNet to come up with something like that.
Seriously, last week I held ANet on the same level as valve…idk wth happened.
They betrayed you and you don’t trust them anymore, that’s all. The bigger they are, the harder they fall.

I heard people say that only WoW/Blizzard will kill WoW. It seems that it’s happening here, only GW2/ArenaNet was needed to kill GW2.
If they do that, they also have to remove stats from infusions, otherwise ascended gear is still superior.
They can keep them if they are only turned on when your infusion counters some Agony. Would be appropriate even.
Heartseeker is such a weak skill now and you want it to be nerfed even more? XD Do you know how old that stupid video is? There has been a huge nerf of the skill since it was done.
No game in history has done well by trying to mimic WoW.
No MMO in history has done well by changing radically the player base after release.
The thread would have more “steam” if there was as many naysayers still posting in it. Now that the patch is out and items have been found, it seems the pool of people in favor of the patch is diminishing :o
It’s not going to change. Many suspect declining stock prices and Nexon’s share purchase is driving this change.

I really wish they would make black powder more reliable. I get really angry when I die to a pistol whip / 100 blades while they are standing in black powder. If they did this and cleaned up the animations a little bit I feel d/p would really be a strong weapon set.
Fast multihit attacks are meant to partly counter the blind fields. Blind fields reapply blind every 1s at best. Pistol Whip does 9 attacks in 2s or so.
Give story mode the exact same reward as explorables (tokens and all that) with the same diminishing returns and that’s all.
If that’s “too easy” for you, let me point you to the Ascended grind. And if that’s still too easy in your opinion, only got the explorables reward if at least one person in the group is doing the story mode for the first time.
Hmm though without the ability to equip runes or sigils it’ll be close depending on infusions, jewelry however is no contest.
You’ll probably be able to merge a rune with an infusion in the mystic forge one day :o
Massive grind? So you know the future? You know how we’re going to obtain the armors when they’re actually released?
I’d be really curious to know how you know it’s a massive grind because Anet hasn’t released any of those details just yet.
They are supposed to bridge the gap between the “easy” to get exotics and legendaries in term of grind time needed. Of course it’s going to be massive.
On top of it, it seems the only source of ascended ring drops we’ll get for now it random chance in the new instance. Enjoy looting your 15th magic find ascended ring while still waiting for the one with the stats you want.
How is it a stat advantage if everyone can get it? That makes absolutely no sense and is pretty much the worst argument you can come up with against having these changes. Especially considering we don’t even know how we’ll get the armor.

Well, the cat is out of the bag. Ascended Berserk Ruby ring equivalent :
- +13% power (92 => 104 = +12 power)
- +8% more precision as predicted (63 => 69 = +5 precision)
- Crit Damage goes from 6% to 8%
Total stat boost assuming all ascended items on average give the same bonuses as rings, on 11 items (two weapons, armor, trinkets) :
- 132 power
- 55 precision
- 22 crit damage%

The organization level require to make those infinite target heals work to make a zerg invulnerable because all damaging AoEs are capped to 5 peoples at once is somewhat above the cell structure of an amoeba.

You’re not supposed to use it that way, shortbow isn’t your max range weapon. Cluster Bomb was hitting a little too hard and especially in large zerg fights.
If shortbow isn’t our max range weapon, are you saying the Scorpion Wire is? XD It’s the only other 1200 range damaging skill we got, unless you count steal with Mug + range extension.
What I don’t see is a backstabb dmg nerf. The most used OP build barely got touched other than C&D yet nerfed hell out of S/D build when very few Thieves run it. C&D was a VERY large part of dmg for S/D build and at 3K ish for the build was not OP. What made C&D op was using it in combo with mug>C&D>baclstab all in a few secs.
Hey they already removed any ability of Dagger 4 to do any damage, you don’t want the D/D set to be entirely devoid of any skill that does meaningful damage XD

My German is non-existent so i’ll have to take your word on them denying Ascended is the last tier but I think them not saying something in a hastily prepared forum post is not indicative of them ignoring it.
The google translation rather clearly says that the answer to the first question is :

Disappointing. No info about a compensation for the players that lost time and money in obsolete gear. Confirmation that they will NOT say Ascended is the last because they might want to make another level later …
Overall, with everything fully upgraded, which is going to take quite a while to do as they aren’t releasing everything with 1 patch, you’re going to get a really, really small boost in overall effectiveness.
Something you forgot though, Berserker stats have a good synergy between them. When you increase by let’s say, 5% the base damage, 5% crit chance and 5% crit damage, the end result is a lot more than 5% effectiveness. And the crit damage will more likely increase by 20-30 anyway.
Maybe they scratched the whole thing to remove the Ascended items? :p

You forgot something : it’s highly likely that the ascended weapons will have more base damage and that the armor more armor too. It’s not only a “power” stat increase you see.
We got a small DPS boost and a small total armor boost in practice.

GW2DB uses a beta or pre beta database and is outdated. Don’t link to it. Especially the legendary stats are wrong.
You get 5 relics per run.
Technically, one run is at the minimum 3 fractals so 3×5=15 relics. At which point you are back in a safe room. Then you can do 3 more fractals at the higher difficulty, then you get a boss.
What is a run in a endless dungeon really?
…And even THEY have more options with exotics, since they can have their set boosting five or six individual stats and ascended is limited to what is baked in to it. Koda armor for pwr/tough/vit with a shaman crest for vit/healing power/pwr. Where-as the ascended only is like being forced to have koda armor with soldier crest that you cant change.
Just that one. People say that the ascended ring isn’t as good cause you cannot mix and match jewels into the rings. To that I answer that instead of buying a new jewel and erasing the one built in the crafted ring you bought, you could simply equip all jewelry of one type except necklace and you’d get the same effect for cheaper and easier to fine tune.
Same for armor really. Also it seems that we’ll be getting a lot of ascended items with mismatched “baked in” stats by default.
