The Mystic Forge is probably one of the worst parts of this game since ANET is relying on players to gamble items and gold just for the possibility of getting something in return. I can’t even visualize how to get my legendary precursor without “gambling” and throwing exotics and gold away without getting crap items in return. You once again put the players through this for the Halloween items. Why? The ONLY way that this is acceptable is to post the odds of what you will get for what you put in the forge. If Las Vegas has to post odds then you should as well. Otherwise the game is left to the rich in the game that feed on the poor. I am not paying 230 Gold for that item but ANET seems to be fine with that.
Made a thread about it yesterday and no devs have responded yet. General agreement is that its bugged and only takes level 1 upgrades.

Ranger should have a stationary at will stealth ability. Pop it, you are stealthed. Move and you lose it.

Thank gods that I have to kill a player twice just to get credit for a kill in WVW. Otherwise, that would just be ridiculous just to kill a player! Oh man, I love the fact that I have to kill and then down a player JUST to get credit for a kill. Also, its pretty rad that I only get a token 1/5 (or 20%) of the time for WVW kills. The idea of a “Commander” is entirely stupid. Just like warhammer, anyone should have the ability to form a warband (large group) and work together. The Commander idea is just an expensive title and waste. “Oh look, a commander. Lets follow this guy, he has 100 gold.”
Not going to happen. I like this idea but part of the challenge is not getting killed by perma stealthed OP thieves.
Has anyone found ANY helm or head piece that looks at all good? I have yet to see anything on my Charr that looks good.
For a supply camp? If anything that means the zergs are punishing each other. I’m okay with this. This game needs to be weened off of zerging, it’s like a drug.
Not going to happen. Nature of the beast. Thieves need to be weened off hitting for 30K in three seconds and being perma stealthed. They are well on the way to ruining WVW. Its like a drug for baddies that play thieves.

I don’t understand why there are so many Rangers crying about this profession that is totally viable and fun to play, what do you people need?
Does Anet need to come to your house show you how to play and rub your tummy?
It seems every profession forum is crammed full to bursting with complAints, and none of the posters are even Linking builds,man up,link some builds so you can be taught.
There are several posts in this forum section with suggestions and builds as well as complaints. There is a large difference between posting about what is factually wrong with something and being a helpless child.
It would be quite simple to significantly reduce the amount of negative posts and locked threads in this section of the forum. How about some positive feedback from ANET and even the devs as far as what is going on and what they plan on doing to fix the problems? How about a time table? How about anything other than just posting bug after bug after bug and only getting four at a time fixed with no actual solution in sight?

They fixed less than a handful of glaring issues.
What are you talking about? ANET keeps fixing four things at a time from the list of 50 bugs and issues. In 9 months it will be taken care of. LOL.
Because ANET can’t seem to understand that EVERY TIME you switch pets, the name goes back to “Juvenile Whatever Pet You Use”.
Trap build. THATS IT! I don’t like the fact that other classes pretty much laugh at us and run away in WVW. FIX IT!

WVW-
Without exotic gear, the DPS is laughable. Good luck if you don’t stack toughness which makes the DPS even worse. There are a few builds that are viable. I use a trap build and support build for siege but you get zero credit for being a support class. Thanks ANET!
SPVP-
Ranger is okay. Trap build, condition build is okay but you just run alot. I get a lot of kills with these.
PVE-
Really nice but almost every class is good in PVE.
This is probably the only MMO that has ever been made that the Ranger class is under powered and a melee DPS class can do the same thing but better.
In this game, CC is very specific. It’s things like knock down, knock back, sink, float. CC does not show up as a little icon like a condition. Cripple is a condition, not CC.
By that logic, anything could be a condition and not considered a CC. Being dead is a condition that is also a pretty good CC.

Here’s the best way to get a lot of badges.
1. Be able to kill people.
2. Always ranged the downed players.
Plop on a ranged weapon when the opposing team starts getting a lot of downed people. Not sure how it works but you can do literally nothing in the fight but land a couple hits on a downed person with range and get a loot drop, and the same thing can happen if you do all the work someone else can get the loot, so just always ranged the downed players if you cannot reach them.
I got over 400 badges last week I also did a ton of killing but just plop on the greatsword and hit downed players also.
1. Only 1 in 5 kills gives badges
2. Having to down a player twice is ridiculous to get a badge
3. Having to find a tiny loot bag in a sea of players and while trying not to get killed is ridiculous. Just make the looting be truly automatic for everything.

When was it proven false that you can’t queue for more than 1 map at a time? 100% of the time when we queued, it would put is in the last thing we queued for. Are you saying that is no longer the case?
I was able to que for EB while in BB and it popped. That was a few days ago.
Well that would be rad if they would look into it. I que and wait for an hour an a half and my guild mate gets in within 10 minutes.

Can we please have a que time or place in que OR even an indicator as to which que you are in? In fact, just anything other than what we have now. Waiting an hour something without any type of counter or number dumb.
Here as well. I just mute the game and listen to music but I really would like to hear some things when they happen guys. Seriously? Fix this crap.
Cannot access the trader NPC using double click or the “F” key. I have tried logging out and back in with the same result. These are the Lions Arch NPC’s.
In WVW, the Rampage As One 100% does not work all of the time. It lists “ignore all CC effects” yet I get CC and killed when using it. Either change the description or fix it.

Looks like longer than 2 secs. If you were suffering from him not rendering on your screen, and hitting you in invis mode. I can see how it would suck to die from that. Outside of, “Dagger storm”, you can CC a thief pretty easily.
I really wish that the combat log had time stamps. It was literally I see him and dead in two seconds. This isn’t the first time unfortunately. Well as stated by those that play the class, it’s very possible to do this. I don’t want to drag this on but wanted at the least to post it. ANET couldn’t get balancing right (by their own admission) in GW1. I just hope that since this is a new chapter for them, they can figure something out.

Maybe less than two seconds. The combat log doesn’t have time stamps as far as I can tell. I am not exaggerating one quarter of one second.
Was this today? I am a thief on stormbluff and I can easily do more than 28k damage in the span of 2 seconds with dancing daggers. As a thief with over 2k power and 98 bonus crit damage I can down light armor users with 1 dancing dagger or a backstab and a heartseeker. I’m not even full glass cannon which is the crazy part.
Yes, this was today. The worst part was he wasn’t even stealthed when it happened. He was being chased and just jumped down on me from a ledge and kept going with a warrior chasing him. He didn’t even stop. He probably killed him too and then just stealthed again.

I think you’re all kind of missing the point of “backstab” being behind you. If your back is turned you need to get dead.
Also, I’ve seen warriors 2 shot thieves without them being able to do anything about it. There is balancing but if you don’t know how to evade after the first point you take damage you shouldn’t blame the class itself.
LOL, here we go. The thieves speak up. Everyone listen. The graphics rendering is horrible. The thief appears and disappears and you don’t even see it since the graphics can’t keep up (and no its not my system, it’s a well stated problem with the game). The entire point of this is that there is no first point taken. It’s a blink kill. There is absolutely zero statement or point that you could make that could possibly in this or any other universe justify the numbers. Just because a thief “gets your back” doesn’t mean that they should automatically get the kill. That reaffirms that the baddies will continue to play this class. Once a thief engages a target and starts taking dots, there should be zero slip away. It’s bad enough that thieves can run away in the middle of a fight let alone do it and come back to fight again. Add the 30K blink damage and it’s blatantly obvious that things need adjusted.

So what does that mean? You can do more damage than 28K in two seconds?
If you don’t think that the thief class in WVW is entirely out of whack, you absolutely do not know what you are talking about or you are a thief and don’t want to see your class even close to be in balance. This happened in a span of two seconds. I suffered 28073 damage in two seconds. I have all exotics and 20K hp. My toughness is 1600 at the moment playing the Ranger class wearing medium armor. Once again, I ask the DEV that posted “before listing a class as OP, see if you can counter it.” I am sure that the guardian class can counter it a bit better than a ranger but this is ridiculous. I am not asking for opinions, only that the right people (that actually care) to see the data.
The WVW kill token drop is entirely too low. Let the flaming commence. “I got 400 tokens in 30 minutes” type comments.
So is it the intent of the game designers that the Ranger class not be a viable 1v1 class? Melee damage is a joke and you aren’t bursting for any type of damage that is going to kill a player like a thief in three seconds. You have kittened the class with ZERO stealth, you have kittened the ranger class by having 50+ defects in the build. I have yet to talk to anyone that is the LEAST worried about a ranger 1v1 other than a caster. This seems seriously out of whack. The ranger class should be feared and more usable in WVW and SPVP. At this point its almost a joke 1v1. All this while thieves run the map with glass canon builds that literally destroy my class in less than five seconds. Is this the intent by the devs? Please? Can I get an ACTUAL dev to answer this? What is the plan for this class?
When you que for WVW, if you hover over the icon it should show you the map that you are qued for.
How about turning some of the useless 11000 recipe karma merchants into something actually useful? I have been running for two hours to find a karma merchant that exchanges karma for exotic gear. Absolutely ridiculous. I don’t run dungeons yet I have to run through 1000 mobs to get to one just to use karma to buy exotic gear. WTF is wrong with you guys?
Could you pleasssssssssssssse just have all merchants for karma, medals and whatever in each place? Should I really have to ask around and look up where to buy gear?

Is this every type of CC or only a particular one? Could be a skill bug.
I haven’t been able to identify a certain one that does this. I guess that the combat log would tell me the next time that it happens.
If you ask Anet, they will probably say it’s working as intended then ask you for a DXDIAG log. AC is still broken (for 3 weeks), so I don’t think it’ll be fixed any time soon.
Too bad. The game is entirely too good and nice looking to have issues like this.
In PvE I use Axe/Torch and swap out the WH when I’m running. The burning damage, at least at level 20, does huge amounts of damage to mobs while the bear is tanking them. Add in the Axe MH for more AE damage and stuff dies pretty fast. The Axe #2 also goes well with the GS #2 for bleed stacks in PvE which is what I use.
In PvP though, I run SB/Axe+WH because SB is our best single target weapon for both power and condition builds. I run power and axe does really awesome AE damage and is effective against single targets as well. The #4 on WH hits for around 2-3k and has never “missed” just had the damage reduced—so it’s a guaranteed hit regardless. The #5 WH skill buffs everyone around you which is amazing in team fights, especially if your teammates are running crit builds. If I were running a condition build I’d definitely swap it out for torch though.
I never really liked the axe but now I know why players are surprised when I charge them with the sword and warhorn. The axe does do more damage overall.

Verified issue. I have to change my eagles name back to “Merica” every time I switch him out.
I haven’t seen too many other Rangers use this weapon combo. Is there an obvious reason that I am missing? I like the speed boost and the one handed sword offers some decent damage from melee. I use this in PVE and WVW with good result.
Ranger
Entangle: This skill is now properly affected by the Wilderness Survival trait Wilderness Knowledge.
Lick Wounds: This skill now functions only with ranger pets.
Really ANET? That is all that you could manage to fix in the huge list?
This post is a few days old but I find that the tokens aren’t dropping in WVW as often as they were previously. This seems like a no brainer to fix. Just increase the drop increments.
