umm did i say wow. i said it a poor hybrid of sandbox and theme-park game design. It isnt a bad idea it just not done well enough.

i don’t mind them at all. most can be finished in about 2 minutes. granted there’s a few that take way too long ( the one where you paint frogs blue comes to mind) or are extremely repetitive ( catch the barrels of ale which is impossible or rouse 60 drunken patrons) but overall i enjoy them. some of them are fun and original ( take food back from rabbits).
I think they could’ve made them more like mini-games or something that could’ve made them alot more fun to do, especially if they actually had unique rewards. Like that one quest in the norn starting area where you have to dodge the rabbits.
Sylvari versus Risen has some great Plant vs. Zombie potential. =p
Or a Sylvari Plant Turret Tower Defense mini game, etc.
Most hearts are just a boring grind.
sylvari vs rien is used about 2 dozen times in the game….

the thing that has been wrong about Gw2 is that Anet tried to force alot of sandbox concepts into a theme park mmo.
Just think about it Gw1 was incredibly sandboxy and just as overal unpopular. Then for Gw2 they went for more theme-park , and it ended up as a total mess because theme-park mmo players don’t want a weak hybrid of both types.

why are we debating what will have to happen or do you rabid fanboys really thing that Anet would be foolish enough to make a whole expansion that 90% of theme park players will skip until they absolutely must because gift of exploration 2.0 demands 100% world completion again. Mind Gw2 would need to merits an expansion in 2 years, i’ll eat a live cat if it happens.
it is also important that Gw1 was a only able to get away with it because leveling didnt matter and it was infinitly more sandboxy than Gw2.
i could be an exploit but the dev can only patch it out, its not hidden or un thinkable
just go add $10 to that card at a store that sell those cards, walmart for example.
remember you have to register those online so they will clear the internet authorization checks.
If it isnt a re loadable type of card just go buy one of those but look for one with no initial loading fee and push that up to $35 with a some cash.

im not going to name names but if you aren’t grinding your not actually doing anything. Grinding is a type of repetitive activity. Now if only fanboys would stop being idiots to understand the difference between the mechanics of grinding and the negatives of pointless busy work grinding.
The game need things to grind for a few weeks at a time . I wouldn’t mind a kitten skin cap that is forged from a few stacks of exotic nocturnal beaver-man butts. or even a pile of exquisite mighty gossamer insignias for some arcane mat hunting adventure

well since i 1 shot anything sub lvl 50 and not a vet. its not a big deal if i one shot the vets and bosses too.

So you are saying that once you clear all the maps, you can never go back? Of course not, that would be repeating.
Far better to hang around Cursed Shore and endlessly farm Shelter and Penitent.
As far as rewards? Define a good reward. I mean other than just knowing that you’ve accomplished it. Which, one might argue is far more real than some digital goodie.
what is there to do in a zone you’ve cleared. Redo hearts for no reward? wait for De’s to trigger? jumping puzzle? Remember none of these things scale up to 80. Sure there is miles of worthless content to not fell rewarded doing, again.
I disagree with most of the complaining and stand by my statement that none of the classes are unplayable. In fact, all of them are still a lot of fun. And I can solo any of them to 80 in spite of the bugs.
I figure ANet will get around to fixing things eventually. In the meantime, I refuse to let this minor bs get in the way of my fun.
Its probably easier to lay blame on a class bug than it is to admit that you really don’t play the class all that well.
I dont play baddly because kits, and all other class mechanic bundles, dont scale properly outside sPvp. I do fine but it is horribly frustrating to be kittened because Anet didn’t think.

Actually Quite a few people consider clearing out the entire world part of endgame, Notice the number of people with 100% star next to their names. Oh anet also forces anyone going for legendaries to do that little feat fyi. The issue is the activities have no rewards of value if your higher level than the nearest heart vendor.

yes we do still ding every few hundred thousand exp, but for the most part its pointless if you not looking to by mystic forge regents. I have all my charr engineer’s skills a blood stone and 50 skill points rotting . it is just a half done mechanic , that might save you once in a blue moon with its knockback effect
but if not for us no one would get their 50 monthly kills
None of the classes are so bugged as to be un-playable. I have play one of each and all have disadvantages and advantages compared to each other. I don’t expect parity in all the classes.
The challenge is to learn to play each class in spite of its disadvantages. Its not up to the game to make us all equal. At some point, some of that repsonsibility lies with us.
The real question is…are you having fun or have you turned your game into a job?
… you do realize the bugs people are upset with are traits and skill not preforming as the state they should. While there is a bit of debate on the reltive balance of classes, the vast majority of complaints stem from Anet failing to live up to modern MMO standards of technical quality.
… um it better be about " continuous" character progression or Anet has shot themselves in the feet. With out reasons to keep pushing a character forward, i might as well just RP kill my characters and be done with it.

WoW: Some classes were just unplayable unless slotted into its pigeonhole until 2.0. And I was a paladin.
Given BC is released a bit more than 2 years after the vanilla game I would take it as the measuring stick.
That only works if your not learning from the past. in 2012 the development roll over is only 2 months for big changes. Rifts does a fix for bugs as many as 4 times a week. Not that Trion is the best team but they put out the feel of trying to be fast and mobile. Anet just feels like a fat slug.

when i switch my flamethrower build from the carrion/ soilder line of stats to the beserker/ knight stat lines on my flamethrower

not that it matters what you burning duration is if you dont have the most condition damage to have your burning stack to damage the targets.
I don’t want them to nerf the hell out of grenades, I still want them to be the staple of demo Engi’s.. I just want them to be on par with bomb kit so both are required of demo engi’s.
they must nerf it, if anything else we had was that strong, engineers would be beyond stupidly op. i mean grenadier is the strongest dps trait in game with a laughable build requirements
Are grenades actually that powerful compared to other classes DPS potential? I’ve had them thrown at me in WvW a few times and it was like ‘um, hey, that tickles. Please stop.’ but I guess those guys could have just been terrible.
thats because you got hit by a single granade, get hit by 3 2.5 times a second.
How come grenades out compete the bomb kit, wouldn’t the bombkit deliver a higher DPS result given the sacrifice of literally being in a monsters face?
grenades get a 50% boost from its grand master. Before 60 bombs are the most dps. Some day anet will get around to buffing the class up to exceptable damage and nerf the hell out of granades

thats my build with the exception that i have 18k hp and 3k armor.
Juggernaut makes flamethrower my a primary weapon and rifle my secondary. And with a few seconds i can jump right into my elixir gun support set or elixir gun dps set.
@ zapato , you do realize you miss with flamethrower because they are not inside the cone when the tick fired. If you miss a lot (>20%) you either turning to slowly are arnt far enough away
@Yukishiro 1 juggernaut isn’t for a glass cannon build, it’s a tanky kitten build. Not that i do damage to sneeze at i do about 2/3 what grenades do. and that is without quickness doubling my damage. Plus i get to invest in tanky traits for minimal loses.
what interesting things could 10 dps do that 5 cant do? the whole reason they didn’t add large group content is the inability to make hard content that isn’t trivialized be retraining or isnt the same handful of gimmicks, that anet has abused so far in exploreables.

its not a scam as much as you can only ever make a noticeable profit if you play the bag market just right. For instance,moldy bags are actually very bad about handing out 2 butter and 5c; icy bags are equally bad about filling you up on 2 dozen worthless veggies.
ps even the most profitable bag (skritt sack) is only 3-4c of profit per bag. so the prices generally have to stay at the price that that bags buyer has set for his 1000+ order

why was the little profit tool tip changed to to remove 10% taxes from tp sales and why is there no way to turn it off. this an utter pain for figuring out real profits. plz change it back.
