They are afraid of us. In this part of forums the laws of nature still apply and now that many rangers hunger for dev flesh, they dare not to venture here.
that is all.
Anykinda fix that Anet implements for ranger, I will forever be skeptical.
I care not for speed of news, all I care about is results. Meaning im not runshing anyone, More Communication is def needed tho – dont leave your players hanging – too long in the wind or buff useless skills like Soth……

Thieves and mesmers, then D/D ele’s
Anyone that says other wise is in denial.

LOL look at that…. Anet pulls the blinds on you guys again – All of you jumping for joy in that Signet buff thread.
LOL, this is pure gold.
Ele’s Dont need buffs they fly enough as it is….
It was good of me to not celebrate, silly forums when will you ever learn Rangers are the step child no one wants. Specifially Anet staff.
Edited; Oh Mesmers Are getting a buff aswell LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
Besides, Signet of the hunt is terrible anyway.

There so many other Signets that are better, Lightning reflexes not on a ranger skill bar is ludicrous…seeing how we are more squishy then gw1 rangers….
I hardly ever run into a situation where LR is worth a slot. Almost everyone brings immobilize as their lockdown skill, not stun. Probably because everyone knows Stability and LR is ineffective vs immobilize. If they fixed that it would be soooooo worth it.
Escaping. Throw down a spike trap, LR, swap to warhorn – buff n run.
Thats just my Opinion you know? Your free to carry w/e you want.
Ask around the forums – everyone is in agreement that rangers are the unofficial whipping boys of gw2.
Thus, meaning people will likely take you as a target over anything else if they see you. In pvp or WvW.
No one is gonna turn down an “free” Badge of honor.
And yeah I agree, there are bugs that still need fixes.

plz just stop trying to anger the community
Please just accept you’re not as good at ranger as you think you are. Just because -you- can’t kill a thief doesn’t mean others can’t, i sure as hell have no issues dropping thieves, then again i have half the brain to either be super offensive and keep attacking them when they stealth, or run very very far away from them so they can’t open on me.
I love how telling someone to stop saying you should NEVER die to a thief equals I’m a bad player who always dies to thieves. All you self proclaimed pros who keep telling the community that your their god learn from you have the worst habit of assumption. If you can say I NEVER die to a thief you’re jut plain ignorant. The game is at a point people know its flaws. Yes they are over exaggerated and if you look you will find good and bad suggestions for all classes. The point however still stands. You are not the ranger god, you are not a dev, and you are not unbeatable so stop telling people otherwise.
Thank you +1
Seems like im having issue replying to this board – its like some unseen force is keeping me from posting I wonder what that is………..

The main reason why I think buffing the run skill fails is because. There so many other Signets that are better, Lightning reflexes not on a ranger skill bar is ludicrous…seeing how we are more squishy then gw1 rangers….
And thieves running around that love to backstab the hell outta us.
traps, QZ, hell even muddy terrain trumps, Soth.
The greatsword offers 1 escape combat skill – escaping combat situations is the only time I would even consider using this skill.
If your running from a thief forget it your done, take your lumps.
The point im trying to make is when your out of combat you run fast but once your hit….
You slow down, as a ranger exiting combat is difficult – carrying a pet makes it worse.
You have to micro manage like a boss to “try” and escape.
Stow your pet.
Quick shot, Lightning reflexes
Turn around to run,
Switch to warhorn (If your lucky enough to have it equipped) buff n go.
try to escape.
Why would you run from a thief, they shouldn’t kill you unless you built yourself like a glass cannon which you should never do as a ranger imo.
Lots of people run Glasscannon and even when you dont run GC thieves have the edge.
Cloaks win the war eventually, you know this.

Been running sig builds sometimes, but Soth never fit into my slot.
I will say tho when I do run a sig heavy build, I never leave home without Signet of stone -Traited.
It does not help with the fight – Just getting from point a to point b – or gaining some extra distance from the “easy” ranger eating mob. Thats it.

Pets should be bigger for example we all know how huge bears are they are bigger than people depending of the type…… they should fit to scale.

I’d rather get a 2H Staff and turn rangers into a druid like class… support and survivability.
Intresting thought a return to Druid roots, I like it.
9/3/13 rip
ehhh Dont think that does well at all.
nah…

Doubt it, They’d be favoring rangers too much anyway.
WD in gw1 Saved my can countless times pair’d with Lightning Reflexes.
It blocked projectiles AND Physical Attacks thus it gave you breathing time in a tight spot. (hint hint anet) God bless being able to use it while moving
……gw2 however….. leaves something to be desired…….
Now its just a terrabad shadow of itself, that being said Gw1 rangers curb stomp gw2 rangers.

Im all for ideas but Anet…. wont spend more money/time then they have to for new stuff. (I hope you dont take this as an offence)
Anet is a for profit, as such there only looking to build profit – In that thought pattern they’ll stick with there guns-sadly.
Awesome Idea tho, a damage-less buffer.

Signet of the Hunt does NOT work while in combat and the active effect is terrible.
I would rather have +10% DURING combat then +25% WITHOUT combat.
Agreed.
It means if we cant win a fight kiting is out of the question.

First off i might be a bit biased so forgive me for this and am happy to accept any constructive criticisms of my thoughts but as much as i hate stealth, making Ranger’s niche being the counter pretty much one other class out of eight is just lazy. I’m all for giving ranger’s a counter to it as they are survivors, pets are our unique thing so i think pets should be able to attack stealth enemies, make people actually fear pets, of course this does rely on their path finding being improved and being able to attack on the move.
In terms of giving the class as a whole a niche, now i will give a few examples of GW1 here but that’s because it is still guild wars and rangers were defined then:
First off, in GW1 ranger’s had more abilities than any to traverse terrain quickly, this should definitely return. We are Hunters we should should be able to see prey chase after it, snare it and kill it. I’m not saying that this will be a definite kill as that should depend on the skill of the hunter and prey involved, but we cannot be the best trackers if we are slower than other classes.
Secondly, in GW1 melee took second thoughts about attacking a ranger due to their ability to block and dodge attacks we kind of got this in terms of the sword and dagger and maybe lightning reflexes but i feel we need a bit more such as another block utility, (i noticed the rangers in the CM dungeon have one, was very jealous when i saw that). A lot of professions tend to have a core game mechanic linked with them as well; thiefs = stealth, warriors = high vitality, guardians = boons, i think we got evasion, or should have and yes we get the extra 50% with WS but i don’t think that’s quite on par with high health or lots of stealth so i think our endurance recovery rate needs to be increased further.
Finally, in GW1 rangers were effective at range because of their interrupts, now i know this is less of a game mechanic now, and the short-bow’s role is as a condition infliction weapon only needs to be improved stat wise but the fundamentals of it are fine. The longbow however, does need increased speed and damage but to set it apart from the warriors bow and rifles it needs to do things like inflict daze or stun, maybe even fear.
Finished, like i said i welcome constructive criticism.
Perfect, Prefect, PREFECT.
gw1 rangers curb stomp gw2 rangers.

So this is about Rangers having the ability to ‘reveal’ stealthed enemies? I’ve already wasted my words in another useless thread some weeks ago about the same suggestion but people defended against it as a bad decision to give Rangers some sort of tracking ability for stupid reasons.
Mostly because they implicated that it might become too overpowered and misused in the PvP environment. Not to mention thiefs aren’t the only profession that have the ability to stealth. I do believe mesmers have something similar.
Imagine the QQ threads placed upon Rangers when we actually have a tracking skill that reveals stealthed enemies in an instant. They would be calling for nerfs 24/7.
I really just don’t understand why Anet designed a hunter style profession that has no ability to track stealthed enemies AT ALL. What could possibly have been in their minds? I mean, isn’t this class called a Ranger? Seriously.
TL;DR
Stealth is overpowered and needs a counter-offensive like oh I don’t know…. a tracking skill?
Perfect.
But I disagree for the one elite its a waste of time and damage.

In Guild Wars 1, a Norn tries to marry your human character because he/she sees your character as an equal. You must then go out and kill a great frost worm in order to make your glory outshine theirs so you can no longer be legitimate lovers. So I think there is a little bit of the equal glory thing going on there, but love does grow out of it for them. Mainly because after they marry, many times they will hunt together to gain glory as a unit as opposed to an individual. This, at least, was the Norn that was trying to marry you’s plan in Guild Wars 1.
HAHA, oh yeaaah. I recall it. She wanted us to use a cheese grater to remove the bunions off her feet. LOL.

Ranger user here, Anet Im gonna be blunt with you, Rangers are terrible atm.
Warriors out do us with there bows, Thieves cloak us to death AND outrun us (LOL, Define ranger anet) – Long & short Bow damage is subpar.
Tell me Anet what kind of “ranger” did you guys have in mind that fails so hard? When I think ranger I see a hunter a wilderness survivor…but no… we can have that can we?
Right now rangers are the Whipping boys of Gw2 and everyone knows it.
When it comes down to kiting every single class has a better arsonal, Lets face it when it comes down to running away as a ranger your chances of escaping are low.
We have Useless traits, our pets are useless, spirits are useless, heals are useless, downed skills are useless. Gw Rangers Would mop the floor with gw2 rangers – Thats a fact.
Anet thank you for ruining a class I loved so much.
