Sooner or later, things always change. BG may be the big dog at the moment, but they will soon tire of steam rolling what few players decide to stick around and offer them bags.
Most wont even bother to play. I am sure, for awhile, its great fun, but when there are no fights, it becomes boring, and people simply move on. Myself, Being on YB, and firmly HATE t1, think we should not even be there, will simply avoid this week and play something else til we drop down to T2 again where it was way more fun, and way more fights.
I play nothing but condition Mesmer in WvW. Still working out a few small details, but in General, does great as a roamer, Have beaten in a few 2v1. Does fine. Roams ok fine.
Run across a group, I simply stealth out, and get out of Dodge. Don’t run crono. Tried it, does not fit my play style, and wells seemed pointless. Seems like lots are relying on condition builds. I have plenty of condition removal.
Does it work well to frontline with? Or support heal? Or command with?
I command, Roam, Pretty much keep it in the back like. The point, I was trying to make, and did not do well, every class, just about every build is gonna have it strong points, and its weakness.
In the End, you gotta find something that fits you, tweak it til it works best for you, cause no matter what you build today, depending on what Anet does, will need revamped down the road.

Now it’s time to cowboy up, get back to the basics, adapt, and come back out swinging. What’s not to love?
If it’s an actual 2v1, there’s nothing more for you to do than sit in spawn. There’s not enough cares left in the game to create that 2v1 environment again. That level of organization between JQ and TC was a one time event in the game.
This is just some player preference on who to hit and opportunity.
If your referring to a one time keep take Sir, with all due respect your wrong. TC and JQ Went after our keep more than a few times, Stopped us from taking some objectives. It happened over a few weeks.
We did find it satisfying when we were able to stop both of them from taking something of ours. Yes, I will gladly admit, we seiged the kitten out of them. What else could we do??

Yep, TC and JQ hit our keep more than a few times. Now they are complaining they are going through it? Karma can be a bitter pill to swallow eh TC?
Always HATED the double team ups. At one time I was on a server that loved to do that. In the end, us getting double teamed is fine. Loosing is fine. Things always change, We stomped on BG and JQ when they double teamed us,

When BG and JQ came after us, our keep, And now its BG and DB doing the same, that kinda stuff is never Full time. Its just done for our keep, and sometimes here and there. Oh and from time to time, one will help the other stop us from taking something. Again, not all the time.
Nice thing is when they do that, we manage to hit there bl and take there garri. So its all fine, and good fun.

When u can Run smc completely out of supplies, and BG INSANE numbers can not only defend that, but pretty much karma train what ever they want. SMC is there’s for the week. We on yb tried for two days to take SMC. Just not gonna happen this week, So I am simply gonna avoid WvW this week, and BG can have at it. It isn’t a fight, its a steam roll.
He does have a condition cleanse, torch will do that.
And whatever you do, stay away from YB, unless you enjoy fighting both servers at the same time.
This should get you a good start, and like I said, you may have to tweak your traits around a bit to better fit your play style. I myself keep Blink, and leave a clone behind while you go into stealth, and then either radiation field, or return conditions to enemy.
My condition mesmer is just a monster in wvw. I am ticking at 26 thousand health, I build a asusra, so I have the radiation field. Last thief that tried to gank me got schooled when I dropped the radiation field right on top of me. Then the fun really began, when I threw the condition’s they tried to hit me with right back at em.
Just youtube condition mesmer 2016. I based my build off of that, then tweaked it to my play style. I just can not stress enough, Get Travlers Runes, any thing else, and your mesmer is just WAY to slow.
Best thing with my PU mesmer, 3 or 4 try and gank me, I stealth out, and I am long gone.

The Alpine bl were much easier to navigate, Most knew them like the back of there hand. The new BL are confusing, frustrating, and just to big.
I am one of many that really want the Old Apline BL back. I miss the days of Golem zergs that you could NEVER pull off with the new desert bl. Trying to hide in the bay, and garri with a mesmer was always good fun. Sometimes you pulled it off, sometime you got caught.
Mosts wont even Tag up in the desert Bl, to confusing, to easy to kill your zerg with a wrong move off a cliff. I have even seen great comaders kill a zerg doing that.
I for one, as a mesmer, look forward to the Alpine’s coming back, trying to hide, and just having a great time.
To say a Mesmer in WvW is bad is just wrong. I am on T1, and my pu condition mesmer survives just fine. With any class, its simply how you play it. For me, I will fight one on one, even two on one, three on one can be tuff, the trick is, know when to fight, and when to stealth out and retreat.
Just takes practice. To tell anyone any class is not good in WvW is misinformation. Its not the class, its how you play it. Its how you set it up to best match your game style. I love my condition pu mesmer, and I have beaten, and had my butt handed to me by all the classes. Play what works best for you, Have fun, you will get ganked, and you will gank others. In the end, its just a game, you learn from every fight.

Don’t even see how this is even a big deal. Its not like ANET listens to us players anyway. Think people complained about HOT, and as far as I know, nothing has been done to improve it. Prob still have to fight a champ for a simple hp.
Think people complained about the new maps before they were released, again, ANET shows they simply don’t care and released them any way.
I used to be a hard core WvW player, now I barley log in any more. have moved on, and moving on to BDO.
I honestly don’t blame ANET this time. How long did everyone scream they wanted new maps??? So they finally give in, give new maps, now everyone is hollering we want the old back.
I used to be hardcore WvW and simply stopped playing. Had my fun with the game. Now its wait for Black Desert.
Oh the conditions they like to throw. Playing my Mesmer, and fighting a necro, Ugh. So I found a necro, we went into pvp, and I had him hit me with everything. I found, as soon as he hits me with fear, I pop the skill that leaves a clone, and turns you invisible.
Then he hits me with conditions, I throw Null field on myself, stealth out, then the fun begins. I will dodge and leave a clone, hit him with either my great sword, or my scepter, I carry a torch off hand, then stealth out, rinse and repeat.
Lots of stealth, along with dodge and leave a clone, and throw in blink, while I may or may not kill him, if I run across a small group, well, good luck finding me and or catching me. Won’t happen.
After just coming out of a T1 blob fest, I think you REALLY need a reality check. So many rangers on all three sides it almost made me laugh. Even the hard core guilds commanders were using a ranger.
It isn’t about the class, its about how you play it. A ranger is not a tank. Its all about sniping, and hit and run. Its about the rotation of weapons, and the weapon attacks you use. My ranger did fine in wvw. Its done fine in HOT. I am still working out my rotations, and my pets, but its getting better. I run zerker gear, and my ranger hits like a mack truck. Using a long bow/staff set up, it does just fine.
To transfer at this point would be pointless. Everyone knows some big changes will be coming to WvW sooner or later, and who knows what that is gonna be. So I simply don’t play wvw anymore. Tried a time or two, got tired of watching the commander build TONS of siege, and hide behind it. There were 9 or 10 of us trying to fight the blob, I ALMOST broke rule number one, you don’t over tag another player. Looking back, I wish I would of.
While I wont say its name, my server name rhymes with jacks lend, have gotten HORRIBLE about hiding behind siege. They stopped do that for awhile, and now back to it. I have tried to explain, we are just cartoons, its ok if we fall down and can’t get up, we can try again. Won’t cost any money. Then again, and I have seen it some, the other two servers we do fight, HAVE gone after us two on one. Then again, we are guilty of it to. I am thinking its time for a transfer myself. Its just no fun…..and trying to go by your self, the other side is so desperate for any fun, entire zergs will chase down the lone toon……..Thats just sad, but I understand, what else is there to do but zerg gank the roaming toon……..
I can tell you from experience, running the DH meta, I am seeing people starting to leave the open world. I logged in one day, got on a DH map that was fighting the dragon of all things.
Once when we got the map full, it seems like it never stays that way. In the past, the map always stayed full.
For me, I just wait til a few min before reset, Tag up, start getting people in a squad, then wants it resets, we start bringing in people, People tag up, and we do the event. Just seems like people don’t stay through the entire event, and the people that simply join the event and go afk is getting worse.
No, But in DH, I have stood on the side of the tree where people go to get the final dragon reward chest, and giggled as people would get so close, then fall. Its kinda like watching people slip on ice. While its wrong, you still find your self laughing at it.
What do you mean by strong boxes? mushroom and hidden amphibian achievements?
Trying to figure out how to best go about getting the necessary Mastery Points needed for the next gliding trait. Trying to get my Ley Line. Have 3, need like 9 more I think???
Been Farming DH for the xp, just don’t have the necessary mastery points.
Trying to get my ranger’s new pets. First one I am working on is the Tiger. Took me awhile, but I know where it is. I even know how to get to the gate. Of course, finding that gate open is tuff. Running there solo really takes some doing.
Thought about just getting my ranger down there, and simply camp it til the gate opens. Is this a viable option??? Just worried if I wait for the close wp to open, and even make it there, I will choke and miss out. I know we only have like 10 min to get it. Thanks Anet.
Well, I just spent 3 freaking hours, I got one hp, just because there was a fight in progress, finally got the the next one, spent over 2 hours trying to get help with one stupid champ.
Thanks Anet for making the game Stupid hard. So glad I paid you guys 50 bucks for this. So awesome of you to make a game you simply cant play by yourself. Never again.
While running around tyria, I see SO many players on the map. There was one or two vets I was having a bit of a time with, took all of 10 seconds to ask for and get tons of help with the thing. LOL, you would of thought it was a champ.
The point of my original post stands, you SHOULD be able to solo anything you want, you SHOULD be able to enjoy the game, look around, discover stuff, and keep a eye open for events if you want to join in a big crowd fight. Just like tyria, I can run around by my self, have a blast, and if in the mood, go join a big crowd for a dragon fight, good times.
HOT really needs the nerf hammer, I paid 50 bucks for the game, and I should be able to enjoy it by myself, and not spend all my time running for my life, and FINALLY finding a hero point only to get stomped by a mob, or a champ spawn.
Well if you can solo a champ, and all the mobs, your WAY better at this game than I am. For me, I will simply get every Hero Point in tyria I can, then get a friend that plays, go knock out enough Hero Points to get my elete skill, then avoid that map at all costs.
IMHO, I can see ANET putting the nerf hammer to this map. You should NOT have to beg for help to get your hero points. You should be able to run around, by yourself, enjoy the game instead of spending all your time solo running for your toons life. What fun is that????
So I finally went into the new expansion. This Map is WAY to hard core for me, as a casual player. Every Hero Point is a freaking champ? Really The whole thing is simply confusing, and its hard to find anything.
So its impossible to really wonder around alone, no way you can snag allot of the Hero Points alone, and good luck finding allot of them.
In my humble opinion, the whole expansion needs one serious nerf. Leave the hero points at 10 points, turn them into vets, calm down all the freaking mobs, let us casual players enjoy the game, and do so alone. No fun if you have to spend all your time running for your life, instead of enjoying the game, exploring the map, and checking out the fun stuff.
Ah ha……So I could ride they myst train and get the needed hp???
I am getting ready to finally tackle HOT. Do I HAVE to have all the hero points done in tryia in order to get the new elete skill? I guess what I am asking is how many Hero Points are available in HOT?
Most commanders use the other map to draw the blob off eb. For instance, blob is steam rolling everything, you pop over to there bl and go after there hills or bay or even gari, Normally it will draw some of the blob, and make the fights in eb more manageable.
Or if you a few friends wanna just go take camps and such, stir up some trouble with out the blob fights, you have other maps to play on.
This is why I run a PU mesmer in WvWvW. I start getting owned, stealth out, and get out of dodge. I do real well at surviving any way.

The entire tier gave up. I don’t think you realize how many guilds and players from all three servers have left for T3 due to that T1 “alliance” moving to YB to attempt to push it up to T1.

At current, YB is no fun anymore. They must be over stacked. Other two servers don’t play much anymore. I am giving thought to dropping down to T3 or T4. Now I had just the opposite feeling about the YB server. I tried for 2 weeks just to get approved for team speak. No luck. I gave up. I did this both in NA and overnights. Kept asking, no one replied.
I have been looking at the scores and seeing which servers have the close est. T2 is just a Blow out, and Karma train. T3 looks promising.
The way it is on Yak’s Bend right now is that we had to call of nightly WvW because Fort Aspenwood and Sea of Sorrows are no shows, and no fights are to be found. This is probably because a bunch of T1 guilds transferred to our server a few weeks ago to try to boost it up to T1 and shake things up, and ever since Yak’s Bend has been absolutely crushing the other two T2 servers, so they don’t bother showing up after Monday or Tuesday night.
The Glicko system sucks balls, as does the whole current state of affairs concerning Worlds, overpopulation/underpopulation and servers facing each other for months on end.
I feel like WvW needs to be redesigned in some way. Why not, Lion’s Arch went through 2 or 3 redesigns, they could put some time into WvW, right??? haha
I am on YB at this time. They go up to T1 they will get spanked like its there birthday. Right not, yea YB are monsters, FA and SOS dont even show up, they jump to T1 and try and hang with the big boys, they are gonna get steam rolled.
I myself Don’t wanna be in T1, so YB makes the jump, Im outa there and will Go either back to T2or a T3 server.
While not on this forum. Of course I am gonna trash talk FA while on YB. Same as I trash talked YB while on FA. Just like playing a game of basketball. You trash talk, then laugh about it after the game.
I honestly don’t see anything changing. In time, FA will be top dog again in T2 and YB will fade to number two. Both servers will accuse the other of this and that. Its just the nature of the game.

No I did not go to YB because I thought they were gonna be the top in T2. Honestly, I went because me and my friend could both join, and I had plans to really troll them for camping, and building AC’s. I simply have not seen it. I went so me and my friend could run around together and take camps.
I found it funny, the way we complained about YB while on FA about seige. They complain about FA “hacking” or cheating. So yea, every server is gonna accuse the other of doing this or that. Simply trash talking. Nothing personal. Just a silly game.
The groups I ran with even found it funny. They knew I was from FA. When we come across something defended and seiged up, I would say something snarky like “Man YB chill with the ac fire”. O wait….never mind.
I just check, even during the day while everyone should be at work, FA is showing full while yb is showing high volume. So I guess the transfers from FA and the Transfers to yb have either yet not happened yet, or never gonna happen.

I only left FA because a friend of mine wanted to WvW together. Spent a Week trying to get on FA, Finally gave up and we both went to YB. Sooner or later servers implode. FA will bounce back.
I also found YB is more active when I play the most which is late at night, super early in the morning. FA was simply dead that time of day. Yea, I figured FA took a break during Karma week. Be interesting to see how it goes over the next few weeks.
Yea, I go where the fun fights are. From what I have seen, YB is out fighting and not camping as much as I thought they did. Heck, they don’t really use teamspeak.
I will stay put, but like someone else said, I will go where the fun fights seem to be. So far YB is working for me, things change, I will change servers again, or buy a second account. Its just that simple. A second account is something I been thinking about doing for awhile. Go to T3 or T4 on it. Could be wrong, but YB does not want T1, they dont have the players. Even on reset night while getting into EB is tough, the other BL are wide open to play.

Rumor has it that FA lost Dawn to another server. Can’t see them leaving FA but anything is possible.
If FA lost Dawn, its gonna be a huge blow and a real game changer.
A friend and me tried to take camps this week, but someone else beat us to it. Don’t think we were the only ones bored with the golem stuff.
So with having no luck taking camps all week, and finding we were bored, We came up with some boundaries in queensdale, and yes, we played hide and go seek. Yes, I am not kidding.
One would go into the city, the other would hide, then give hints to where we were hiding. Yes, we were that bored, Yes I won last time.
So what did you guys do???
Most people will follow any tag. You wanna make a difference, want a challenge, Go T3 or T4 or even T5 pick the last place server. Tag up, help them get out of last place. You tag up, people will follow. You can be the best tag ever, just up to people’s mood if they wanna follow, and play.
Been playing WvW for a super long time. Only two names that come to mind that could draw a zerg was “grandpa” and “Johnny”. Them two were prob the best drivers I followed and really got some bags with.
I live in the midwest, Mainly play late at night early morning. FA for whatever reason no longer has the overnight they used to. So I moved to YB. Way more active, see lots more people playing.
But if you wanna run small groups, then FA is the server for you. I can tell you from experience, the que time for FA is HORRID during there prime time. Up to this point, the que time for YB is not as bad.
Not sure what happened to FA, lost there overnight coverage, and YB looks to be the server to beat. For now that is. Could change.
I see this question allot. What build should you use for wvw. The honest answer, it boils down to your play style, how you wanna play it. Do you wanna roam, Run with the zerg, Do you wanna be up front, or stay behind and snipe.
What size of server you on, in the end, there is no “one size fits all”. Your toon will die. You will get ganked. The best way to figure out what you want and how to play it is find a friend, go to pvp and test your build. See if it works for you. Tweak it, and your traits so it fits your play style.
Myself, I like my PU mesmer, have her traits tweaked for my own style. Use lots of stealth just in case I get in trouble or run across a small group while I am alone, I stealth out, and get out of it. While I may not kill someone one on one. Chances are, they will never kill me either. That seems to work best for me………
Think the one thing no one is saying, with T1 and Even T2 your que times can be pretty tuff, especially on reset weekend. So to play on them, your looking at one long wait to even get into wvw.
Its odd, I play WvW allot!!! I am in Fa, and I have yet to see it done. No idea how many freaking AC’s are in whatever, but yea, taking something of YB, I feel like Its a big silly game of dodge ball, and I am the fat kid.
But yea, everyone can change there camera, and see stuff, I am sure YB does it to. Thats why we don’t so much depend on siege, but fighting. So take it easy, the new Maps will be going before long, Who know what will change. In the end, relax, enjoy the game, and have fun.
As with any profession, what you play and how you play will decide your best build. There is no one size fits all.
In WvW, at least what I have seen you run across ALOT of of gank squads, 3 or 4 just roaming around waiting on one person to walk by and your dead.
So I found PU mesmer to be the most handy. No I wont beat many in a fight. Good luck trying to kill me, cause if I get in a bind, I will stealth and blink my way out of most issues. So I live when most people die.
Ya, let things get settled down before you go crazy making changes in your build. Its why I left mine alone, and will continue to play it as I always have.
