It looks as though he was trying for some kind of might build up, the energy sigil was to help with the food for maintaining it plus quicker endurance gain. It’s safe to assume he’s looking to add some support into the group with the regeneration, well of blood and protection on wells, plus 2 of the wells and 2 weapon skills provide aoe damage, not including DS or lich. I don’t have much experience in dungeons or fractals but how much aoe damage could you need in a pve group?
Maybe you should layout some suggestions for him or post a build he should work towards, it sounds like you’re suggesting a hybrid trait-ed around wells and DS.
Well it’s another new way of removing conditions regardless of what your class has available. Hopeful the cool down is long on cripple because that hurts us. And the stacking of ferocity obviously means bigger hits on a lot of classes that have a large crit rate already, they can choose now to further get a higher crit chance with more health and stack ferocity which hurts us also.
yeah ouch indeed. Stacked ferocity(sigil of cruelty), chance to cripple on critical hit(sigil of incapacitation) and removing a condition on weapon swap(sigil of cleaning) .. tis a sad day for the necromancer.
Yeah!
Make the leap thing require a target or no leap kittens!

hehe phat lewtz is my leet speek for things like globs of ectoplasm, ancient bones etc .. also salvaging rare items(yellow) provide em .. exotics either way, salvage or auction house usually it’s sigil or rune will dictate that for you
But also for a day just try it, run eotm all day, follow the horde, capture everything you can kill whatever you can and just loot > salvage, then after a tireless run, hit up your bank sell all the collectibles

Yeah but more importantly everyone is gonna be reset to level 1 so we can experience the goodness they hath provided us. Embrace the goodness, feel it’s warm run down your leg, can you smell the sweat of hard work and dedication from the developers who have so tirelessly worked on such awesomeness in which we now, can be grateful for being a part of?!?! Can you FEEL IT I DON’T THINK YOU DO SON!
I earn about 20~30g a day just selling all my item drops on the trading post, and I’m a noob to the game. I’m sure others have far better money making ways
Sorry but I have to say ‘no kitten’ to you, I made about 100 gold in 6 months, spent about 20 and now have 80,
Read my post again, you can easily make 50-75 gold a day, and I don’t even do dungeons.
BiP seems to weak to be an elite, and SoV should just be removed, I spit on it patooey .. but moving it to utilities would be better.
If not then reducing plague signets cool down to 40 sec would be awesome sauce. Other classes have AoE cleansing but shouldn’t that be one of our strong suits?
But BiP could use …
Blood is Power
Corruption. Bleed yourself for you and your allies to gain might.
Might (10 stacks) – 15 sec
Self Bleeding ( 4 stacks )
Number of targets: 5
Radius 240
3/4 sec cast
30 sec cool down
But then again other classes stack might and I dunno just a thought for group play.
Another suggestion for elite change though below
Corrosive Poison Cloud
Convert it to elite
Inflict a target with a poison cloud, for 15 sec the target has a 240 radius circle following them around affecting up to 3 allies at a time inside the radius every second. Also acts similar to flesh wurm but when you teleport to the enemy it dissipates the cloud.
90 sec cooldown. So even if they cleanse themselves the cloud still follows them around inflicting the conditions on their allies if they get too close.
The price of gems -> gold changes frequently so this can be worked.
Do eotm for like a week straight salvage everthing to get a higher magic find to then further salvage rares for the phat lewtz.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Crafting_material#Rare_crafting_materials
Convert all that karma you’ve since obtained into gold.
When this becomes utterly boring go around the world collecting phat lewtz resources, fill your collections tab then sell everything.
A lot of people horde for whatever reason, but it’s healthy to periodically gut your collections tab in bank and sell it all.
I tried sticking to your builds philosophy as much as I could

Thank you for the fluid game play
Thank you for the openness of the game play and the eotm train for impatient people
Thank you for the different races… except asura
Thank you for the lack of feedback
Thank you for the horrible support representatives
Thank you for not having a community manager on the forums to frequently banter
Thank you for over stating changes
Thank you for failing at real balancing issues or keeping us in the dark if they are being fixed
Sceptor #1 – AA
Blood Curse – 1 stack(s) of bleed
Rending Curse – 1 stack(s) of bleed
Putrid Curse – 1 stack(s) of weakness 2 1/4 sec that splashes 240 radius up to 3 targets
Also reduce the aftercast of grasping dead by 1/4 sec
With this amount of blood loss they should be weakened.
Or or ..

Haunting Corruption
Corruption. Self vulnerability 5 stacks
Up to 3 targets in the target area are pulled to your location and are blinded for 3 1/4 sec.: hopefully at least one of them won’t block it
How about a utility skill that can AoE pull up to 3 targets.
Also if spectral grasp is blocked, hit an invulnerable target etc acts as an interrupt.
The one thing that worries me is that one trait is the only thing that will ever pop me into DS .. which means by impulse I’m going to be trying to pop into DS more than likely when it does, so I’ll end up taking myself out of DS right as it auto puts me into it throwing it on cooldown and me into premature dirtnap. Then later when I change my build and it doesn’t auto pop me into DS when I’m expecting it I’ll then realize I didn’t take this trait this time get mad and break a lamp … ug
Sceptor #1 – AA
Blood Curse – 10 stacks of bleed
Rending Curse – 10 stacks of torment
Putrid Curse – 10 stacks of weakness
Also acts as an interrupt, if you you interrupt the target they also receive a 4 second daze
It would be a fun little change up to just starve the map of supplies. Make generators the only resource + elements on the map if all 3 if the orb things are built around it, remove supplies from keeps/towers/spawns, increase required supplies to rebuild bridges. Would make for some fun battles in mid.
I think the biggest weakness of DS is that it only complements a handful of Necro builds.
I agree, I’ve built around DS I think twice, and that was early on when I first started, but since then only used it in those oh crap moments to stall my death.
I’m going to channel the devs by saying “This is too hard to do and isn’t what we want for the Necro.”
And this is I’ve been thinking since I really took a look at the minor traits on the necromancer, they bit off more than they can chew. Think about it, if they really had some sort of specific vision of a necromancer, why not just give us set skills per level we can or can’t use and if they still want some customization then let us rank up the skill in power or something. Giving us the ability to pick and choose things to make our build means we choose the vision of the class not them, it’s now on their backs to make sure what we pick works well together, a much bigger task than what they seem to be willing to do. Look at the skill builder site; warrior, guardian and thief all have minor traits that flow perfectly together, then mesmer starts slacking a bit engineer gets worse then when you get to the necromancer it becomes wtf.
If you can’t understand that ANet obviously wants every profession to be viable, them telling you won’t change anything. No game developer in their right mind makes a game with characters that they hate.
Them posting here would change nothing for the better, except creating even more unrealistic expectations.
That’s not true, I have experience in this field and a lot of times I’ve had to approach the higher ups with concerns and imbalances, it does take active involvement though on the ones actually doing the work. It would of just been nice to have a moderator make a post asking for feedback on each class forum, unless of course I misinterpreted their message.
It would be awesome for a developer or a some kind of community manager to pop onto the forums here and let us know, they are in talks to adjusting things and acknowledge our concerns or our posting is futile as the changes are concrete and there is no room for adjustment.
At the very least it would be cool for someone to point out they have at least read some of our concerns and took it upon themselves to either test the mechanics of the necromancer or had someone do the testing against various enemies under the different situations we’ve all addressed.
Hey another thing, if a developer or moderator could, how about making a new post in each forum asking for feedback regarding each of the upcoming class changes because I could have sworn someone said they are accepting feedback and they do listen, but I could be mistaken. Thanks.
Have someone look through everyone’s suggestions for the necromancer! We’re people too!
… Long recharges on skills and no damage avoidance mechanics …
I agree. I’ve been attempting to add some suggestions in various threads on this, but I’m not sure if developers have gotten to any of them yet. People keep suggesting to be able to heal in DS, but need to realize there has got to be huge testing/balancing with something that big and with the way they are doing their updating, it’s incremental so that I think is asking for too much at this time.
More chilling, more weakness, more daze etc. something please .. but it seems like they won’t be changing much or their minds at this point.
What about axe doing cripple every 3rd hit and the retaliation being extended by 0.5-1.0 sec.?
I know there is no plan for us to be able to catch a running enemy or be able to get away, so at least give us some more options to slow down the incoming a bit, without cheese-ly relying on DS to save us when we get low on health but then lose our rotations. For once I’d like to use DS because it fits in the rotation, like now is the perfect time for <blank> instead of, wow wow too much incoming damage pop DS.
P.S What about something like the guardian has, guardian has an ability that makes his allies apply burning on next hit, what about us having the ability for our allies to apply daze on next hit? We need a good reason for groups to want us in a dungeon.

Again, this is great in theory but I said reliably. In pvp between blocks, aegis, blinds cleansing etc and between all the delays in your abilities it won’t be up much. In pve, you’re gonna be in a niche build for all that. My current build I do run weakness, cripple and chilled as much as I can without being a ping pong but it would definitely help to have them pop up more often and more reliably. And again maybe another daze or something. In all honesty I’m looking at these specific conditions because I get the impression the developers are not gonna be doing anything big in regards to class changes etc, like healing in DS, I think they would shrug it off for now because of the testing needed to make sure it’s balanced and all that.
For example these should be looked at by the developers
Axe – Conditions it applies
Focus – Reaper’s Touch
Off-Hand Dagger – Enfeebling Blood
CPC – Cast time reduction, maybe cast on target and hit aoe like flame blast and a trait to make it target-table for manual ground casting
Don’t get me wrong some are good abilities but vulnerability etc would be good after the fact we have a good way of debuffing incoming damage first because we don’t have much to get away compared to what our foes have at closing the gap.
We can easily get perma weakness if we want, cripple as well, and while immobilize would be nice we also have 3 sources of that, one of them built into the profession.
No we can’t.
Another suggestion is to buff chilling darkness by 0.5-1.0 sec. or more daze maybe, basically it would be favorable to us necromancers to reduce the mobility, dodging, cleansing of our foes.
Wells are cool and all but usually only get the first tick off then your foe is avoiding them .. skills on weapons that spam an area are nice but same thing applies. Wells/Weapon skills with area effect would be cool is they acted like flame blast, hit the target and foes around it in area but still block-able, unless you trait it and want the manual circle placement.
It just seems we have to few ways to reduce/slow incoming damage, and I don’t mean we need protection or aegis, I mean we should be weakening our enemies incoming damage .. DS helps in a way, but our abilities change when we’re in it screwing up some of our intended rotations, it would be cool if it was treated like an engy kit, when the situation calls for it pop DS and use the abilities, but now it seems to be mainly used for I’m about to die pop this to slow my death which just makes it kinda cheesy.
I notice a lot of people talking about this, dunno I think we need a more sustainable way to reduce/slow incoming damage, that’s why I was making suggestions to add more opportunities to inflict weakness etc. We aren’t meant to zip around, port all over hide etc so if we’re are forced to face our foe and take said damage to the face we definitely need a way to reduce or slow incoming damage.
Look at the other classes, they have either stealth, blinds, aegis, vigor, protection, confusion or regeneration they can frequently and reliable pull off during combat which helps them survive. We get DS .. we can sometimes get it off more than 2 maybe 3 times during combat, depending on spec, but our abilities change while in it and again we take all that damage to the face … in light armor.
I think a lot of us are using DS now because they begin to lose health quickly and pop it to try and stay up, but then their chances go down even farther if they aren’t trait-ed for DS sustain or are stat-ed for conditions .. they don’t get the full perks of using DS, the DS lifebar gets eaten and they pop out low on health and die.
P.S Also I think asking for them to make it possible to have a balanced working life stealing spec at this time with the itty bitty updates they are looking to push through is asking to much at this time. They don’t seem like they’re looking to spend more than a few minutes changing code, animations calls so to be asking them to make life siphoning spec possible I think is asking too much at this time.

Maybe death’s embrace increased its damage .. what’s odd is the first fear didn’t tick any damage so they seem to not be trait-ed for damaging fear.
1. Ability to apply weakness more often/more reliably
2. Ability to apply cripple/chill more often/more reliably
3. Shorter cast for Corrosive Poison Field, and consider spectral recall as a leap finisher
I’m just throwing this out there, but developers could you also please consider giving us a more reliable/consistent way to apply weakness to foes more often.
Could you at least consider this, a more reliable and consistent way to apply weakness and perhaps cripple to our enemies in combat. And if you’re feeling generous also 1 or 2 more options to apply immobilize?
Just a couple of random suggestions
Signet of the Locust
Passive – Same
Active – Blind nearby foes for 1 sec.
Chilling Darkness
Increase chill to 3 seconds
Well of Darkness
Instead of blinding nearby foes have it grant nearby allies 5 secs. of swiftness
Signet of Undeath
Passive – Convert a condition to boon every 10 sec.
Active – Block for 3 sec.
Corrosive Poison Cloud
Remove it from applying weakness to foes instead have it steal health from foes
Reduce poison to 3 sec.
Spectral Walk
Instead of giving us life force on hit have it gives us 3 sec aegis
P.S Exploding pets == blast finisher

It’s called a notification, maybe they’ll take notice, they know my log in history and track future log ins.
You’re right I do care because it was a class that fit me so after trying it I stuck to it, honestly this always dictates whether or not I continue playing an online game, I like some of the other classes, but wouldn’t actually play them in-depth, but would welcome them in my party because they’re needed.
As for suggestions I’m asking other people that are familiar with necromancers to post.
I just don’t have the energy to re-post what necromancers need. Thanks.
I’m going to be continuing my break from this game after watching the upcoming changes to necromancer from the guild wars 2 twitch thing.
I’m sure some of you will say these are nice perks in the right direction, but they are still underwhelming and not all complimenting what the necromancer actually needs at this time. So I take my money and time elsewhere for a bit, hope in the future this game improves more where it is needed.
As a side note … no never mind, I’ll check back after a few more updates.
If you feel like there are necromancer modifications missing in this update that you would have liked to see, please post below and let the developers know how you feel about what has/has not been changed that should have.
Good luck everyone and hope you all like the new updates.
I may be the odd ball here but I still think it’s odd that people in the same guild can be on different teams. A few times I’ve seen matching guild tags in enemy zergs who just happen to pass by us so they can cap behind us and we cap where they came from, and other times it just so happens we run into a matching tag zerg only to have our commander snake out beforehand and either wp or de-tag and boom most of the zerg gets wiped like it was pre-planned. Other times I’ve heard our people complain about enemies knowing their positions or their directions like they were psychic.
Maybe it has to do with numbers, too large a guild gets split up I dunno I haven’t been playing long enough to know the details, but it just strikes me funny, then again most people feel like this is eotm so what who cares right.
On a side note, maybe this is dumb but when a npc is freshly killed and has RI it would be awesome if during the time they had RI they acted as a temp. merchant so we could sell our crap, just throwing it out there.
I went to the dungeon vendors today in Lions Arc and stood in between the first and second vendor to talk to the first vendor, upon doing so for some odd reason I crashed everything simple closed out without warning. I have not been able to log back into that character as each time the loading screen begins the game then crashes. I did get an error popup after the first crash which when viewing the details states my gw2.dat file is now incomplete, so I backed it up and am letting the game update again.
