I think giving points to kills in a step in the right direction

A GvG mode will only split the population, so I don’t think its a good idea. Thats what SPVP has become, its a seperate game. Whats the point of GVG mode anyway, when we have OS and a fan made ladder system already. There’s no need to replicate that and its not going to bring back ppl just because its made official

What we need is for guilds to compete another way. Since fighting guilds like to fight, how better to determine who is best guilds but by having each guild compete against each other based on kills in WvW. Anet could tally up all the kills by guilds in real time and post the score of every guild. This score should be as accessible as pressing B

Big guilds will probably kill the most ppl, but smaller guilds could still compete based on efficiency.

One scoring board based on total kills by guild, another score board is based on kill ratio per guild member

p.s if anet could increase the range ppl could see the down icons, it would really help spectators in OS watching a gvg match. Spectators need to be able to see the whole fight from the stand and know what’s happening

- better visual aid of all the fields. Its hard to tell the difference between light and water field sometimes. Maybe white rings for light, and light blue ring for water

- I concur that the down icons need to be different to completely dead players. Its difficult to tell who is down and who is dead on the screen in WvW. \

- The hostile select target indicator which has a red arrow pointing downwards needs to larger or different to down indicator icons. Difficult to see who you have selected when you have many down players on your screen as well

the problem started right after the massive ddos on anet. I think they changed something to address it, now I’m experiencing massive lags and rubber banding more often. It has become unplayble. Please fix anet

I rather see they remove PPT all together, and have all keep/towers/camps operate (points per kill) like the ruins system (points per stomps). This will help with reducing coverage dominance. Essentially, those with the most population may capture the most keep/tower but they wont exactly contribute anything (very little) to score because theres noone on the other side to kill to give them points

I don’t see how people could gvg in EOTM, no gvg arena or empty area and such there, so…

I’m wondering what people think about the idea of allowing guests into Obsidian Sanctum. This allow gvg to occur between guilds on all servers without the need to transfers servers. Guilds on the same server could do gvg against each other as well, if one of the guilds guest to another server

- it teleported you to the top floor, near the asura gates instead of the bottom floor
- need black lion weapon specialist in here as well
- make it an account unlock so all your alts could get in here, without the need to drop it in bank so your alts could get in as well

That right there makes your solution fail, because the game mode is 24/7 and everyone needs to be considered.

No, those off hours who do play, just don’t contribute to score as much unless they have opposing forces to kill as well. Most tier 1 servers have off hours, so their off hours are a big contributor to the score as well. If theres no opposing forces during off hours, they still contribute by giving your side fortified towers/keep

To further my thought on how to fix the population inbalance. Introduce overflows to WvW maps (Red, Blue, Green and Eternal Battleground). Just like the way it work in PVE, in WvW when you first log in, you join your home server WvW map, but once its queued, you automatically get moved to another server’s WvW map, in which you could help another server’s WvW matchup. The only 2 WvW overflow server that you won’t get thrown into is the server your current home server is currently fighting.

This allow guilds in higher tier to play in lower tiers server as well to help it out and guilds in lower tiers to also play in higher tiers without transferring. Eventually the massive queues in highters tiers will force guilds to move out. Guilds who move out could still experience the t1 battles as well via overflow, so its not a big lost to move to lower tiers

Addition thought, instead of moving people to random overflow wvw maps, allow people to pick which server overflow to move to (guest to).

Also make server tranfser free when this happen, but keep the 1 week limit in place

Let me remind anet of their game design philosophy of why overflow was introduced to the game in the first place. Noone should ever have to wait around to play the game

One of the attraction it T1 server is the larger wvw population and almost 24/7 battles. Reducing map population forcing people into queues is not the solution. We want everyone to play the game, not wait in queues. A solution is to have more maps and also introduce overflow to WvW. Instead of fighting for PPT, we should be fighting for kills

Population imbalance will a always exist if we keep this server vs server paradigm. I would love to see it more like eve-online where all servers are merged into one where everyone could fight anybody

Need some Quality of Life improvement in this. Could you improve the special effect of FIELDS. Water field and light field for some skill look too much like each other. Sometimes its hard to tell. How about blue circles around water field and yellow circles around light field

Also make downed icons different to target icons. Maybe make target icons much larger. Currently they both look the same. Red arrow pointing downwards

- have a better Target/Down icon indicator. Currently, when you have a hostile selected, it show a red arrow pointed downwards on their character model. It look very similar to the down indicator. In WvW in large zerg fights, its hard to spot the difference and see who you have selected . Maybe make the indicator larger or use different colors

- have better visual aid so we could tell the difference between a water field and fire field. Guardian’s fire field look very similar to a water field. Maybe have water field surrounded by a blue circle and fire with orange circle

- change the color of defeated hostile players nametag to grey instead of red

- #2 focus on #1
- #3 focus on #1 and only switch focus if #1 and #2 switch places

In reality, due to politics

I think the first one is a bit difficult to implement. Do any signet skills at moment give boons based on out and in combat mode or based on passive/active mode?

The 2nd one with the +25% movement speed is easier to implement. Necros and thiefs have a passive +25% movement speed, why not mesmers

I like to petition anet to remove arrow carts totally from the game due to wide spread FOV abuse.. The game was so much fun yesterday without carts. Imagine a game where we don’t have to refresh seige every 1hr. Just have one use items, rams, golems, treb/cata and such.

Or make arrow carts stationery upgrades for tower/keeps at the usual spots, so they could be hazed

You mean WM doesn’t even play in their timezone and plays in EU instead to PvD and avoid competition.

Do you know most of our oceanic stay from gmt+8 around 8pm until late night, very late night? Do they have to go to sleep just because you would say they pvdoor? Then ask TW and the rest of your NA crew go to bed as well. SOR players work overtime every weekend and BG players can’t do the same every day? What a logic.
Give some respect to players who are really dedicated to contribute to their servers and stop trash talking. Don’t make me despise your guild and server more. I already look down upon you all because of some of the forum warriors your server throw out here. Bad attitude, just zip it and go out fight.

While I agree with most of you post. Don’t blame entire guilds and entire servers because of a few bad forum warriors. Its an indication of your own character as well. If its okay for you to do it, why can’t an opposing server? I don’t think its fair to blame entire servers or guilds because of an individual.

I think its a really funny dynamic going on this forum. One guy say something then suddenly ppl read it as if the rest of the server/guild said it

Boredom Reduction - Playstyle Balance.

Instead of reducing the hp of gates/walls. Some ppl prefer that playstyle

Some idea I like to add for those who prefer a different playstyle. So we have best of both playstyle

- remove gates at stonemist
- give more points to sentries capture (10 points per tick). Expand/add to the environment/terrain around the sentry to give more variety to pvp battles around it. Enlarge the capping circle around sentries
- give more points to camp capture as well (15 points per tick). Enlarge capping circle
- Anyone find a point to those npc camps? Remove the npc there and have a capping circle there that add to the ppt

If you give more points to camps or sentries per tick, it will essentially force more battles to occur there. If 10-15 points is not enough, make it higher

Some issues I have with it
- the “new” wvw armor/weapons are pretty disappointing, they’re actually old skins you could get from pve and they’re ugly. You can get these skins at karma vendors or trading post very cheaply, 1k karma or a few coppers. No point wasting badges on these
- what happened to map queuing system? Did they remove it?
- You now have to click three times to enter WvW instead of 2? Reminds me of Windows 8, forcing you to click more to get anywhere
- beside the rabid/invader thats, no point in wasting badges on the other sets as you could buy them in trading post for a few gold more

-I think they purely added these skins to WvW for players who don’t want to PvE at all, so they can still be able to get these weapons/skins.
-The queueing system is bugged as stated by devs, they are working on a fix for this problem
-I personally wouldn’t know about clicking 3 times, I just have to click twice I think (press B, press World vs world orso and then select the borderlands)
-I agree with this point, maybe it’s for those players who don’t have transmutation items (because of no PvE —> No world completion and no dailies) to get the skins on their weapons they would like to have.

- I would be happier if they included the dungeons skins, not the uglier pve skins that you could get very cheaply. Even if you don’t want to PVE, some of those skins can be bought from trading post
- you forget to count the B that you have to type, which is 3 clicks in total. Its still one extra step than before

The WvW patch is actually good.

being outmanned is a double negative. Not only does it show you don’t have the numbers on the map, you’re also broadcasting to the otherside to gang up on you and take your stuff

I bet the ppl complaining are mostly thieves, because they couldn’t kill one instantly. d/d ele are not the new thieves because they can’t kill anyone quickly, they’re just harder to kill. Thieves can still kill ppl in 2 secs and still hard to kill

It was discussed before and considered legit strategy because if you consider this illegal then you must surely consider aoe, catapult or swinging sword thru door illegal as well because it operates under the same principle

Mike is still ignoring the question that many have asked. Why do some siege equipment seem to remain active past 30 mins when untouched, while others do not. It got nothing to do with quagan storm because no damage were done to them.

I seen many incidents where arrowcarts/catapults/ballista at garison will remain way past 30 mins of unused, while other times they disappear in 30 mins.

Anet is keeping us in the dark about the depawn timer on the seige equipment making us GRIND to keep it active. Its the least fun part of WvW. I’ve noticed that seige timer are somehow different on a BL garrison, than building a cart near spawn. I’ve built two carts to test. One near spawn citadel and another at garrison. The one near citadel have yet to despawn after 2 days, yet the one at garrison despawned in 30 mins. It appears seige despawn at different rate depending on where you place it.

I wouldn’t mind seeing a timer window floating aboves each seige equipment

What does the center island temple of storm do exactly? I thought its the quaggan nodes that destroy the keep seige, not the center one. The temple of storm comes in 3 phases. When control by you, neutral and one control by hostiles. What does each phase do

Is it really a discount? It maybe 25% discount on the items itself but in the past few days, buying gems with gold is 40% more expensive. Those who buy items with gold are better off using the normal price

To be honest, I rather see thieves damage greatly reduced if they want to keep their stealth. Even with stealth removed, they still hit very hard

The problem isn’t culling, the problem is that they can hit so hard with their 1 and 2 skill. Their damage output is much higher than other classes

They should make thieves unstealth when damaged, like the Eternal Battleground fountain stealth. This should be an easy thing to implement

When thieves can solo claiming lords, you know theres something wrong with this class

this exploit has not been fixed. Thieves are flipping fully upgraded towers and keep because they can solo lords. Arena.net do not care. Its been a week already. The reporting is pointless because theres no exploit option and they’re not doing anything about it even if you report it as scamming. Instead they go after legal players instead of issue warning against cheaters
