Unstoppable Necro.
I solo-d Mad King in under 25 minutes. The first time I did it, I kept trying to do emotes thinking it would make the mobs despawn. When he finally came down, I realized that was stupid and it was not bugged. But, since I am an invincible condition/toughness necro, it didn’t matter.
Target Thorn, stack 20 bleeds on him (thats right, I can solo 20 bleeds and maintain it through the entire fight), poison and then Epidemic. All the other mobs died instantly and then I just waited for him to bleed to death.
Power/Prec-DD Build. (DS, Dagger or whatever, just NO Condition).

Hey guys,
So, right now I am mainly using a classic Condition build (0/30/20/20/0)
How can this be a “classic condition build” if you are not using any points in +condition duration? Take 30/20/20/0/0 to get the most power out of a condition necro.
I thought Reaper’s Rumble and Lunatic Inquisition were fun, but what was the point?
Have we seriously gotten to the point where fun is not good enough?
Seriously?
Just………..god kitten it.
Right?
“Oh man, I really enjoyed this!!…So what do I get for enjoying myself? Hmmm?”
This generation of gamer is pathetic. I am only 22, but kitten kitten all, what the kitten is wrong with these kids today?
I am really glad ANet has kept the challenge in GW2. So many American companies cave in to childish complaints and demands and destroy their games to reward/please individuals like this guy. It ruins the game 100% of the time.
I’ve run it 6 times and got a stack of BL Salvage Kits, a kitten ton of halloween mats, the Halloween shield and the Greatsaw skin.
This IS why people are complaining. You’re completely oblivious as to how lucky you are.
Hemophillia is suppose to increase bleed duration by 20%.
However, when used, the duration of bleeds does not increase on tooltips, enemy condition monitor or by damage.
I did this for hours and hours and hours yesterday. Were you perhaps one of my first victims?
Are you kidding? The double scythe is the best part about having the skin!
As mentioned umpteen times, I’ve ran the puzzle with traited elementalists and I believe I can tell an abnormal speed when I see one.
Wow. You really dont like other people being faster than you.
He isn’t hacking. As stated umpteen times, he’s just using air attunement. Simple as that.
They aren’t “preventing” you from doing anything.
If they dont come from Black Lion Chests then where did I get them?
I dont do PvP and I did not buy them.
I agree. They could have increased its respawn timer. They could have made him only spawn after completing enough of the other events in the area. They could have just lowered the drop rates on exotics.
Yes, exotics can still drop. But with the cost of my gear + food + boosters, it isnt even worth it. Especially since I am running, what, 200% magic find, and all I get is plastic fangs and chattering skulls?
Why do they think we LOVE those things? no one wants skulls. No one wants fangs.
No one wants the 140,000 candy corn they have.
What we do want, is decent rewards for our effort.
We finally had ONE boss event in the game that offered good loot.
I understand you dont want us spamming it and taking exotics every 30 minutes and destroying the economy.
But, to nerf it down to only two items and for them to be candy corn and plastic fangs?
Really, guys? Really??
Glory Booster still does not work for Mad King Chest recipe.
It is because you do not read.
When you log in on the launcher, there is a post telling you where to go.
When you log into your character you receive a mail that tells you where to go.
Just because you attempt to acquire a rare item does not mean you are entitled to it. Simply playing the game or wanting something does not give you some divine right to own it.
The skins are rare. RARE! They are a limited edition collectors item. Meaning they are only meant for a smaller percentage of people to have.
Just keep that in mind when you are trying to get one and make your decision (YOUR decision) on whether or not to spend your money or gold.
It is simple;
They only added cooking and artificing recipes for halloween items. Super simple stuff.
You have a food effect active. It is most likely one of the items Robotsonik is referring to and you just dont realize it.
yea, ur a nap. I have used them on all my chest. Just separate them using Alt and u will see u can use them
No, you cant. Or at least I cant.
Anachnophobia short bow cant be transmuted and has a 3 hour countdown timer ???

It is always a good idea to READ DESCRIPTIONS of everything before you click “Accept”.
Low blow, ANet. Guess I wont be using the ONLY boosters I got from my $50 of chests to craft.
Was about to post the same question. I am very worried about this as my work schedule is preventing me from playing.
Dear God, stop CRYING!
All you people do on the forums is complain and cry because YOU were less lucky/fortunate than other people.
The event is great. The content is great. The costumes are great, the skins are great. Its ALL great!
But here you are “omg, gotta spend $200 on gems, QQ QQQQQ”.
kitten already.
Have you even tried to open chests for those skins yet? No. You havent. You heard someone else complain who most likely exaggerated the number of chests they opened and now you’re mad too.
Stop complaining constantly and trying to milk ANet of free things (it wont happen). Grow up and either play the game (that you know you enjoy) or leave.
I am pretty sure that art was drawn before the cultural sets were made. The art was probably taken as inspiration to create the T3 set. The legs and body have the same sort of art style between them.
I agree for the most part.
I would like for the scythe to be there at all times that I am engaged in combat. Out of combat, it is completely ok for it to be gone, but I would like to see it more consistently.
So, Arena Net, I ask you; what are we playing at?
I was initially spending my day off work doing a speed run for world completion. I was ahead of my intended schedule. I was going to go from 20%-100% in merely a day. But then, oh what’s that map chat? A jumping puzzle? Well, I can take a quick peek…
Griffonrook Run is a BEAUTIFUL area. I was amazing when I finally found the entrance and gazed up at this wonderous landscape. But now, that feeling is gone. I will never again do a jumping puzzle or go out of my way for a chest. There is no reason for it. It is a waste of time. These statements are, of course, opinions. But opinions I feel strongly about.
So, my suggestion (and question to you, Arena Net);
Why is it that this type of content (puzzles, world bosses, DRAGON FIGHTS) does not have event specific items to acquire?
This puzzle should have least given me a title for its difficulty. The items should have at least been soulbound on acquire, class specific, rare items.
Each unique content should offer a chance to acquire unique items specific to that content.
This is a simple concept and quite frankly I am appalled and bewildered as to why it was not implemented to begin with.
Surely I am not the only one who feels the rewards for the things we do in this game are not worth it?
Dragon fights (world bosses as a whole), jumping puzzles, the little hidden champions through out the world.
I have felt this way since…well, nearly the beginning of the game, but just now it became so incredibly frustrating I want to rip my hair out and gouge out my eyes.
This will be two post. The first is my story, the second is my true suggestion.
I discovered Griffonrook Run (a jumping puzzle area). Minor spoilers ahead;
The premise here is you are up high on tiny platforms. Each of these platforms and ledges have griffons on them. The majority of these platforms are reached by falling to them. It is to be noted that the objective here is impossible to reach without at least 4k HP (due to the level down here) and the 50% falling damage trait.
Getting the achievement for the puzzle is simple; just make it to the end. Not so hard. However, there is a second prize here;
At the beginning of the puzzle you encounter a woman who tells you there is a “magnificant treasure at the end of this wall, guarded by a griffon.” Sounds cool! Slay the—- “The griffon is cake,” she says, “However, the chest is made of steel that can only be destroyed with THIS bomb.” Ok, I’ll just— “But if you get hit by a griffon, the bomb will blow up. Also it will blow up in 2 minutes. Have fun!”
-.-
The problems here seem intentional. The cliffs you are running up are apparently low enough for the griffons to attack you from the ledge below. They can also hit you while you have already fallen past them and moved on to what you thought was safety. There are many flaws here that may just actually be flaws in attack radius, etc.
I just spent an hour attempting this puzzle. Upon FINALLY reaching the chest with my bomb in hand, I layed the bomb beside the chest with pride. Four other people came here with me, they all left 45 minutes ago. I was the sole survivor. The one who stuck it out to the end. And this was difficult!! Truly the first difficult challenge I have experienced in the game that made me kick my wall and slam my mouse on my desk.
The chest is open. Its content lay before me in a satchel. It is time to reap my rewa——
Three blue items. Of no use to my character. With stats inferior to those of its same level. And that sell on the trading post for less than their vendor price of 50 copper (level 41 items).
In my opinion, MH dagger needs the AoE/retaliation move MH axes have.
Dont be so close minded. The skill is intended to escape sticky situations. Not charge into battle. Read into the context at least slightly before you add more text to the forum.
Are you joking? Guardian skills are far more exciting to watch and use than pretty much any other skill. It makes me sad that I hate their utilities so much that I refuse to play mine any more.
Go play a Warrior for 1 minute and then go back to Guardian and bask in the beauty and excitement of their weapons.
Like “every other class” has. Even Engineer. Engi weapon swap OP.
And no, it is not “limiting” for Ele’s to have 20 weapon skills at one time while every one else only gets 5.
Upgrade your gear…
If your underwater attack was hitting for 6 at level 10 then you were definitely still using the starter water weapon.
Also, runes. Runes make a major difference in lower levels.
I have an 80 Warrior, Thief, Necro and Guardian. On the first 3 (guardian was my first 80) I bought level 1 gear that had upgrade slots and purchased runes to enhance them. For these classes specifically, I went all power runes (+10 per rune). Doing so I one-shot everything on each class up until level 10.
I do agree that Ele is too squishy, however, make sure you are gearing up regularly and are not fighting too far out of your own level.
That is your opinion. My opinion is I would like for them to wield a combat staff.
Really looking forward to them being released (they are going to be released..right? RIGHT?!).
My suggestion;
I would like to see Dervishes wield staves. However! I do not want to see them stereo-typically wield them to cast spells! I want a combat staff!
I want spinning and slapping and poking with my staff!
For reference; Aion’s Chanter class uses staves in the most enjoyable way than any other MMORPG staff. Ever.
Lmao?
It channels because ALL signets channel. And it heals for less because it gives you (really good) passive regen. The skill is fine the way it is.
Anything to incentivize the PvE’rs to come join in the central part of the game: WvWvW =]
That is your opinion. And only an opinion.
This is a troll post if I have ever seen one.
If there’s any longbow that needs to be buffed, its the ranger’s.
Please dont come here to troll.
Back on subject.
The cooldown isnt necessarily what I am asking for, although it would be nice.
Longbows cooldowns are very, very close to all other weapon combinations. And every other weapon receives cool down reduction AND damage bonus in the same trait. As well as other traits that boost their effects.
Swords receive damage increase, cool down reduction, increased crit chance and the other damage increases that affect all one handed/off hand weapons. Axes (dear god, why do they INSIST I use axes?!) receive damage bonus, cooldown reduction, crit bonus, bonus adrenaline, the mainhand/off hand bonuses and more.
Longbows receive increased range and +10% damage to burning foes.
Not to mention, to get the most dps out of your bow you need to be point blank to hit your target with all 3 arrows from Fan of Fire. The AoE nuke is great. The AoE blind is good. The skills over all, I am happy with.
My whole point is the lack of traits that support using the bow. Most of the 5/15/25 traits (that are native and cannot be changed) either counter bow use or do not support it.
There needs to be a chat channel for RolePlaying, as stated. I for one do not care to be witness to it constantly (as is the case on my server).
Yes, I can turn off emotes, I can turn off say chat. But then I suffer and miss out on information or conversation that may actually be important to me.
Um, no.
1. If you log out while downed, you come back dead. In sPvP you may not get the points for it, but ANet can simply give you those points instead.
2. Downed state was a very poorly implemented idea? Please. Dont make me laugh in your face..oh wait.
I would quit playing if this ever happened (which it wont). Instantly.
Without a leveling system, I have nothing to progress towards. No silver lining. Nothing glorious waiting for me on the horizon. Just colors every where.
You too, whether you admit it or not, would tire of that system very, very quickly. Events are only fun for so long. And what do you gain from them? Only money and some gear that you are going to vendor/salvage for more money? No experience? No increase in power?
I love, love, love my Warrior Longbow. So much fun. I am satisfied with my weapon skills (yay! I dont JUST auto attack!) and the AoE power.
However, there are far too few traits that support a longbow build.
There are tons of traits that support Greatswords and One-Handed weapons. But, no matter how much traits keep shoving Axes down my throat, I am not going to use them.
Pretty much every weapon for warriors receives a 20% cooldown trait, except longbow.
Why not add the cooldown to the increased range trait? Or add it to the +10% damage with longbow to burning foes trait?
Rifles receive piercing attacks AND cooldown reduction all in one.
Simply; I would love to see some love shown to my longbow traits.
Snow Leopard is worthless. Do not buy any of the Norn elites, unless you just want to waste points to say you bought them.
Signet of Rage is a really great, low cool down self buff. I use it over the Battle Standard because of the cooldown (and also to have constant swiftness while exploring).
Battle Standard is really great for group play. It give you an AoE rally, which is wonderful when you’re in a pinch, and the AoE buffs.
The content you are doing will determine which you should.
Group play = Battle Standard
Solo/PvE = usually Signet of Rage
Any content = never, ever, ever Norn elites (seriously, theyre just bad)
Skill, skill, skill.
Doesnt matter how you build your warrior in PvP. If you kill me with it, I will just respec traits on rez to counter you.
Warriors are not overpowered by any means. They’re just easy to play due to their mechanics being purely auto attacks.
Mistfire Wolf is mostly for show.
If you want a summon elite, then roll a human and learn Hounds of Balthazar. They last longer and are just better.
Why do thieves even have a bleed build? Isnt that what Necromancers are for?
You are not understanding what people are calling weak. Compared to other classes, mesmer aoe farming is a joke. Guardians spin to win, necro’s aoe condition to win, warrior rolls his face on the keyboard to win. Ele spams fireballs. Engineer spams grenades. Thieves spam clusterbomb. Ranger uses barrage once.
Compared to those, Mesmer’s only real aoe damage is a 15 second Mind Wrack which is dependent on your clones and phantasms surviving. As well as chaos storm which just got nerfed.
Compared to other classes, Mesmer is awful at farming dynamic events, as well as aoe mob grinding.
I’m not saying its not possible, its just MUCH more difficult than other classes and far less rewarding compared to other classes.
For example, on my Guardian, I could pull 8 mobs, use binding blade to pick up the ranged and use whirling wrath and pick up loot. On my mesmer, I have to gather them up, LOS to pull them all together, make sure you keep up 3 clones, Mind Wrack. This gets them to about… 50%. Then you have to try not to die as you kite forever and spam Izerker or whatever else you can do.
Mesmer just isn’t practical, by the time we summon a clone to do aoe damage for us, all the other classes have wiped the mobs out.
Mesmer AoE farming a joke??
You can kill a large group of mobs in seconds with Blurred Frenzy (and not take damage while you do it). You can round up your mobs and throw down 2-3 illusions and use Mind Wrack to nearly kill them with 1 cast.
Perhaps you just arent using the right weapon.
I for one hate not having AoE. So much that I only run short bow on my thief for Cluster Bomb spam and auto attacks.
Mesmer AoE is just fine.
And as far as the 15 second cool down on Mind Wrack; that can be reduced.
I would say go try out new weapons and builds. You’re bound to be surprised.
Everything that makes them good at pvp makes them awful at pve. Find me a single npc enemy in this game that works like a human player.
They don’t give themselves boons, they don’t attack often enough for confusion (or often enough to justify distortion) they don’t have the same levels of hp or damage, they’re often immune to interrupts…
At higher level content enemies (specifically bosses) do frequently have boons.
And I dont know what youre trying to get away with but..enemies are constantly attacking…thats just…really? No excuse for even saying that one.
I find my mesmer to be more effective in PvE than my thief, guardian and necro (all level 80).
Well, 10 points into Crit (sorry, dont know the names of the trees yet) for -20% sword cool downs + 5 points into the 5th tree for -20% cool down for illusion summoning skills; I had the cast time down to 9 seconds. Now, with those two traits, it is at 12 seconds.
seems like a pretty weak trait imo
It is actually probably better than some others.
More often than not mobs/players will not be using skills, just auto attacks. Also, the point of a mesmer is to make foes waste their cool downs on your clones.
As opposed to other classes who usually have the +5% damage for flanking, if the target is burning, etc. The enemy not using skills is more likely to happen than them being affecting by conditions and such.
