I can’t believe we SOS is the 5th rank server (at the moment) and our population for wvw is peanuts compared to 1,2,3 and 4th ranked server.
TC are currently steamrolling us this week and they are the 4th ranked server. JQ last week murdered us by 300k at the end of the week.
All i can say is that when gold league starts and SOS is part of the 6, there will be a lot of crap matches when paired up with us…..

I was just offering an opportunity for SoS/DB to karma train some since we were doing it. Lots of wooden stuff to backcap for leveling those alts when we’re not defending.

Screw showing titles of enemies, give enemies a special aura based on what rank they are, which will reduce the clutter on the screen
since i dont know what most ranks are but example
1-10 – no aura since you are a noob
11-20 – blue
21-30 – green
high levels – gold, silver, bronze, diamond etc
similar to what Ragnarok online had but they only had an aura for max level chars
espionage is all part of war
they should make it so, ascended weapon + 1 special ingrediant (not many items cos making ascended weapons requires too much grind/materials already) = precursor

This game had potential but now its become so grindy it’s like ‘work’ away from work and turning into all those other MMOs. Laurel grind, daily grind, achievement point grind, wexp grind, whats next??

It’s not optional, it’s mandatory if you don’t want to fall behind the rest of the pack. For example, say you stop playing now, what will happen when they introduce ascended armor or level 500 crafting, which requires like some absurb amount of laurels for a single piece? Well your pretty much stuffed and imagine if you have alts…
The grind in this game was supposed to be pointless. You have dynamic events (which no one cares about currently), diminishing returns (which is like DRM at the moment) and, most importantly, and I don’t know how this one went past Arena.NET’s head – no stat gain. So the game should have another focus, I mean, that’s logical, right?
Instead Guild Wars 2 is doing its best to be just another MMO – time-gated content, absurd amounts of grind and generally backtracking on all its innovations. How is it that a game that was supposed to be for the people who aren’t into MMOs turned into exactly the opposite? That’s why I don’t play MMOs, because I value the time I spend playing. Guild Wars 2 did a wonderful job at that during its leveling, because you were rewarded for playing the way you want and it didn’t feel like a chore.
Now? Now you literally have to log in every day so you don’t miss anything on the check list. Dailies and time-gated content are supposed to be the worst-case scenario for these games, when the developers have become so uninspired that they just shove something out the door and call it content. But no, it’s a routine for Guild Wars 2 now.
After I’ve seen it all I want to play what the game focuses on. And, currently, its focus is on keeping you in the game just long enough to open the gem store. Some people out there are just “having fun”, I guess they’re in the exploration stage of their playthrough.
I’d call this game broken. Not because it doesn’t work or because it’s not a fun $60 experience, but because it’s literally head-ramming its design philosophies out the window. Everything that was supposed to be unique about this game is gone. Why should people who don’t like MMOs stay here when, say, Everquest Next releases? You have every single bulletpoint covered – number chasing (achievements), crucial daily events, time-gated content, zero incentive to progress, shallow PvP. So? GW2 is living from its former glory of GOTY 2012, back when it was actually a really good experience.
The saving grace of this game was supposed to be WvW. Yet we’re a year in since release and the rewards still suck, zerging hasn’t been changed aaaaand, you brought the grind even there! Congratulations, you made your game a farm-fest, put restrictions on farmers, made the loot useless and to top it all off, you’re encouraging it with every single patch. Despite the likely possibility this will quoted by someone “having fun” prancing around in his/her town clothes, I hope I explained my point to the rest of you sensible people.

Its not on par with aspect arena with how much time you need to invest to complete the achievements.
So far i have about 800-900 points, and it took me about 2.5 hours even though I was getting around 40-70 each round. I estimate it will take me 7.5 – 8 hours to get 2500.

I don’t like how things are turning out with these living story events. Stop catering for the ‘hardcore’ dungeon raiders, fact is not everyone is competent, the skill level will all vary between the players so the group composition will never be the best (even worse when you don’t have a proper LFG tool ingame). By making such difficult content with your average group of players, you are asking for a lot of criticism.
I’m still peeved about the molten facility dungeon and not even getting to complete it, so I don’t even know how the ‘living story’ progressed from that point onwards.
But adding to the trial t4 issues, scaling in this is broken, you know you have an issue when you need to solo it to complete it. If you believe that this is the way it should be done, you might as well make this game a RPG instead of MMO. I think it’s probably worse than the party scaling in diablo 3, and we all know how much that failed….
If no one can get Gold, you guys need to rework how you approach content in the future.
for the average player, because everyone is not as 1337 as the people above, it will take about ~5-7 hours just to get 2500 points.
That there grind is insane.

To bad that vid is pre-patch, just like every other successful video in this thread. I completed T4 a dozen times before patch – solo, duo and trio. I’ve completed it once solo after, with a ton of luck and class actually capable of it. This content is not possible for all classes in its current state.
So does it matter if the vid is pre-patch?
I completed kiel/evon t4 on the first time using this strategy post patch, and it worked great. Still had about 1500/2000 supply at the end

Well I tried to do t4 in a group for a few hours and failed miserably. Saw this post on how to do solo so gave it a try. As for the results I completed both t4 solo just right now, was suprised how easy it was compared to what I experienced in a full party. Reminds me of Diablo 3 group scaling, so so baddd!! ANET YOU NEED THIS FIX THIS!!
I was using my thief, and pretty much you need to burst the plunderers down asap. Only CC I used was scorp wire and basilisk venom, the rest was cloak n dagger, backstab, heartseek spam if they lived through all that.
For the left plund, I just spawned camp on top of it and killed it when it landed, then for the right plund, stay in the middle near the rock and use scorp wire and dps away. Rinse and repeat for victory

Sounds like a great idea, similar to the PVP locker or the bank mini collections tab.
We have the special mini bank space so should be easy to make one for the special event skins.
At the moment bags/boxes are available in fractals, pve (crafting) and pvp, but is unobtainable from WvW.
Just wondering if this could be implemented into one of the WvW merchants to sell 15, 18, 20 slot bags/boxes that can be purchased using BoH.

I have posted screenshots of people advocating to reset the giant just so they can farm for loot, i seriously hope these people’s actions have consequences cos they are no better than botters
Okay this is getting so ridiculous and out of control, I need to speak up.
On my server, Seas of Sorrows, this has been happening everyday for hours for at least the last few weeks. These selfish people are preventing the event chain to finish just so they can farm the loot from the risen mobs. With people like me who don’t have much time to play and actually wants to do the world boss events, it becomes impossible. And no I can’t guest to another server, since being from the oceanic timezone not many servers actually do world bosses around the time i get on.
As of right now, these people have been farming the event for about 2-3 hours now….. and I got flamed for speaking out loud and getting reported by these farmers by trying to do the right thing.
Caught a few of them in sbi borderlands trying to get a control point. They were from SoS server

If everyone were to essentially receive a free precursor as suggested I can assure you that the price of t6 mats, lodestones etc would skyrocket and legendaries would become even more difficult to obtain. Demand for these is already far greater than the supply and having everyone and their brother chasing a legendary would only make it worse.
However I would prefer this tradeoff then rather farm gold all day long just to buy the precursor, farming for crafting material isn’t that bad compared to farming 500+ gold!
I don’t see the problem with rewarding people who finish the story with a precursor, its only the money hungry people who see it as an issue. But yes it should be a token style system, where you receive the token and you trade it in to obtain the precursor of your choice from the merchant and make it soul bound so you can’t sell it and flood the market. WIN WIN for everyone!!
Let me explain, obtaining the precursor is only one of the requirements to complete the legendary, you still need to get the dungeon tokens, gift of exploration, all the crafting material etc which i still think is a fair amount to work to do to achieve the legendary, especially for the casuals.
The thing is earning WvW ranks is not as easy as you think, unless keeps, towers etc flip like crazy
You need to include ascended backpieces!! I don’t want to do Fractals just to earn them
Make a custom skin only available from WvW, like a Warbanner ascended backpiece, and even if it cost 1000 badges, i’d still buy it

I can’t speak for whatever happens in NA prime time but in EB during the SEA timezone you’ll witness this anamoly.
The only time DB wiped YB was on Sunday night, which occurred when YB pushed into DB territory and SM, where the peace treaty ceased and all hell broke loose.
Otherwise I come to the conclusion that DB:
1. Letting YB cap their stuff back for starting another karma train or;
2. Hate SOS that badly that they need to spawn camp and grief them to oblivion
But I don’t care do what you want, since it’s only a game

Maybe they should make a squad system like BF3, when you join the game you are forced to join a squad of 4-5. Then when you die you can respawn on your squad members. That system actually worked and was pretty fun
