Those are mastery levels. When you look in your hero panel, you’ll see green/red stars next to certain achievements. These go towards things like gliding, or jumping on mushrooms if you have HoT

I don’t see anyone here freaking out over the chicken forever trapped in a tornado. Time to add to my collection.

Hope Remains is a medium sized guild (sometimes 2 people on, sometimes 20+). The majority of the guild is located on Crystal Desert , but we do not have a server requirement. No age restriction (please keep in mind most are 18+). This guild is for people interested in helping others, whether it’s with story, fractals, dailies, raids or just running around smashing things with your flavor of weapon… Hope Remains is casual friendly, as well as new players just entering the world.

We use Discord, have a forum, as well as a facebook group page for quick updates or event posts.

Mostly EST/CST timezone, some members are night owls or international and are on at other hours.

We have a guild lotto once a month run by Geigi (me), where guild members bribe me to not throw one of the guild leaders off a cliff. And I know a few good, tall cliffs.
Currently only doing PvE guild missions (Saturday night 8pm EST). New players welcome for these since some happen in lower level zones.

Did you get a letter in your mail about going to speak to the Pale Tree? I got one after reset (I did the current events the day before), and that NPC showed up in my home instance after I’d gone to the Grove to finish up the knight quest.

Once you have completed it and you have your reforged ascended caladbolg weapon, take it back to any home instance. (will have to wait for reset – get your mail about the pale tree – then you can find Ridhais)
Talk to Ridhais and for your ascended weapon and 1k unbound magic she will allow you to choose another weapon. Repeat until the achievement is done.
This allows you to trade in the weapon to reset the stats on that weapon or choose another ascended weapon type from the collection list (dagger, scepter, shield, greatsword, sword). You will lose all sigils and infusions so beware of that.”

Amalgamated Gemstones in your list aren’t account bound… you can sell them for nearly 2 gold a pop.

No, because season 1 took place in old tyria, and season 2 is dry top and silver wastes, which wasn’t part of HoT.

As an old player who only had a handful of the skins that they just re-released, I can finally get the rest of them? That’s a good thing :p

Honestly, it’s a silly thing… This game does as really great job making sure everyone is as blended together, veteran or day old player. Jealousy of armor does not make a good game.

Last night’s jump puzzle The Collapsed Observatory, and tonight’s in Coddler’s Cove is making me wonder why SOME jump puzzles deny you the use of your glider, while others are allowing it? Shouldn’t they all be disabled?

I did it a few times, and I’m watching a few others, accidentally glide over the little bubble of light.

Fridays! We used to go in all the time on Friday with 5-10 people for a few hours, and now we only go in to knock out the guild missions.

Same for us as well, tried just now and it’s not doing anything.

Final Fantasy XI had this and people wouldn’t invite certain race/job combos into their party because – the big ones (like char), had limited magic pools. So you didn’t want them as a healer, but people wanted to be a healer on that race. All their gear choices was to give them more magic, just to play catch up with humans or the taru (the ones with the most magic).

The tiny people, had less health, so if you wanted to be a small race AND a tank? No one wanted you, but if you were a black mage, then it was GREAT because your intelligence was the strongest out of all the races.

And humans were just run of the mill average.

There’s still plenty of people in Orr for karma. I can’t recall if Silver wastes (the area before HoT) gives karma when events are being farmed, but you can pop over there too.

Plenty of people still do the world bosses too.

And if you log out and back in again after making changes… it goes back to the goofed up one.

It’d only be false advertising if they didn’t give you a heads up about it being a random chance. It tells you there’s only a chance to get them before you purchase, AND you CAN use in game money to buy gems to buy them, if you don’t want to buy them out right from others who’ve put those colors up for sale.

I won’t even bother logging in on the 23rd.. we’re going to go have dinner with friends while the game gets update after update of bug fixes and server crash fixes >_>

At least it’s being released on a Friday, most people’ll be able to get some time over the weekend.

If you’ve made any friends since getting the free version, I’d go with the one that they’re on. But even that doesn’t matter, cause you can just join their map to do things in PvE

The ONLY reason world selection matters these days is for WvW – if you’d like to try it out at some point, I’d go for a server that’s isn’t quite at the top, nor the bottom of the rankings.

Personally I like Crystal Desert, because we’re not near the bottom, but we’re also not at the top, and when I do feel like WvWing… I’m not the only one on the map playing

Naw! Not really.

My husband and I are both “casual”… sometimes we’re on long enough to do a fractal, or just the dailies, or even squeak out 2-3 hours a day over the weekend. Friday night we both set aside a whole 3 hours to WvW with our guild!

He’s got a legendary sword, my mesmer is 100% coated in ascended gear and I’m starting to work on two other characters to 100% ascended… it just took me a little longer to do and it didn’t bother me ONE bit. Both of us have been through every dungeon except Arah (that’s the new goal), and we know Fractals well enough to help the majority of the guild learn them.

I’m thinking this OP needs a new guild that’s geared towards more casual gaming (from the complaints listed, I’m assuming they’re not much of a help), or take a step back and accept that limited time means you can still get what you want, it just might take an extra week or month… Do one goal at a time, then move onto the next.

It’s frustrating to be part of a large group, only to have 75% of that group (following a commander) suddenly take off, leaving the last 10 or so players in the red circled area to finish up the last 25-50%. This results in multiple deaths, and in last night’s case, at least 5 silver to teleport back to the nearest waypoint, run back down, to help the remaining players try to finish it up.

The money isn’t an issue for me, but if a new player is there for the first time and only has 20 silver to their name? It’s a huge dent.

This happened last night, and because the majority of the group took off after getting in a handful of kills, the 1/2 hour timer ended, that individual event failed, wasting game money and time (really could’ve run off to do another 2-3 events in the time it took to try to clean up that last one.). Multiple wipes to full death for those that stuck it out to try to finish it up.

Either players ONLY get credit for being there until the end of each mini event within the 1/2 hour to discourage roamers, or the mini event needs to scale down as people wander off to try to tag as many as they can to get the most out of their bloom rewards.

People leave, the next time the vine throws mordrem at the 3 catapults… there could be less since it scaled back down again.

Yes, because of the glitch where some people were seeing the new hair styles that weren’t available yet. So they deactivated them until it’s fixed.

Wait… so the TWO dyes I’m going to get in 2 days is some how going to crash the market on dyes, when I’m still missing 90% of all the gem-purchased ones?

It’s going to be another 6 months before my next character gets another dye. And then 12 months before the rest get theirs… but I’ll still be missing about 20 dyes.

I also pre-purchased, and had set up my email for HoT updates… and didn’t get a beta feed back email (checked spam folder).

The one you got almost instantly is the one that comes with the upper two levels of the purchase for HoT. The one for the veteran one takes a while longer (mine took about 10 days)

I main mesmer, really enjoy ranger as well to just goof around on.

Heck, I’d just like to be able to send potions or food to my WHOLE party before a dungeon without having to remember to send someone an extra two so I don’t get hit with the mail spam blocker.

It’s for both, the next paragraph down is the paragraph stating the info for those that want to completely quit the game. The one you provided is for refunding just the core game after you pick up HoT.

Like the character slots for vet players (mine took 10 days to get a 2nd free slot after purchase of HoT), it might not be an instant refund depending on demand of refunds to be processed.

You need to do it today.

Either completely getting rid of GW2 or getting the refund for picking up HoT, 7/31/15 is the last day you can do it.

If you read the rest of the section where you pulled that from, you buy HoT, contact Customer Support (the link is available in the link you posted), and they refund you what you’d originally paid for the game, so long as it’s within those dates.

Then you have your game + HoT. It’s not a full refund. It’s just the core game refund since you bought it so close to when they’d announced the info for the next part of the game.

There aren’t any ‘chubby’ characters because our heroes walk everywhere. They fight things. They are in shape (that’s why there are some thicker shaped women, but no muffin tops). It doesn’t make any sense to have a character with that body type unless they opened up the world to play bartenders or mayors or others that aren’t running around fighting dragons.

Unless they were on the diet sumo wrestlers are, anything that would make them chubby would be burned off just by participating in the world.

Human has short hair in the makeup kit.

I would’ve been making one weapon / item at a time instead of stocking up. That way as you were collecting other material, sigils, etc, you could be slowly adding back to your spirit shard pool. (while working on my mesmer, drops I get during this time would stock up for warrior or thief, etc)

Also you really can’t limit yourself to JUST the dailies, because there are other ways of collecting them while playing the game, even new people have access to those other options.

I did the jump this morning. I went from the low tooth – it’s like a hanging tooth, placed lower than the rest – of the skull after watching a few people jump from the usual spot. And was surprised I made it my first time (usually I just jump after everyone else and they raise me back up again)

They’ve also stated from here on out, that ALL buyable expansions will include the previous base game + HoT for free with the newest version of the game.

Can I get a burst of butterflies, and a unicorn like in the inspiration picture in my hero panel? I find that this lack of unicorn disturbing.

A llama charging out of a field of pink and purple butterflies to slaughter my enemies would also be awesome.
(I’ll even change my scepter back to the princess wand skin to further the alarming vision of an adorable, blood thirsty Asura slaughtering her enemies with pink frufru.)

One of the jumping puzzles was changed, so if that’s the one, they were moved because the game landscape was altered (would’ve sucked if they wound up being stuck underground or in the wall of a building)

You should have enough hero points to get everything to 100% at level 80.

Skill points became spirit shards. Tomes of knowledge and skill point books and writs of experience and logging into every other character, will add to this pool. They’re spent at the mystic forge.

I just maxed out my mesmer with all available points on that specific character (everything is now at 100%)… and I still have almost 300 points left that are sitting there doing nothing.

You’ll be able to continue earning hero points (formerly known as skill points), so if something comes close, but you run out, just play like you had been playing to get the rest of the points to finish it up to 100%

I think you get all the cutscenes and everything again for the achievement version…
Do you have icons just above your 6-0 skills? If so, those are your achievements that you haven’t gotten in that episode.

About an hour and 15 minutes from now.

my issue with this event, was any time there was me and one or two other people (or just myself), the NPC would suddenly vanish from next to me (I was walking next to them the entire time), and appear in the middle of the group of monsters that’d spawned further along the path. They were usually half dead before I could even run down there to catch up.

There was a weird lag with all the patrols with the supplies you needed to walk from point A to B. The enemy would appear a bit away, and poof! the NPC vanished, and appeared by the enemies (I had been walking right next to him). By the time I got up there, it’d be too late to save them.
