You can also both just hit the “PVP” button up top (it’s the crossed swords icon), and walk across to Lion’s Arch, and meet up there, then go pick a starter city to go to. There are portals to all the cities roughly in the middle of Lion’s Arch

Then again, my husband and I almost always pair up with the same races, then swap up who our mains are once we hit 80 on different characters.

Guild member yesterday got 2. One after the other. First for the shaky chest after Vine Wrath, then the 2nd killing an exp mob on the way over to one of the champs. No one else in the guild’s gotten any.

Sadly no, medium can only skin medium, light to light, heavy to heavy.

There used to be a pirate outfit in the gemstore that had a giant hat like that, though.

As someone who is female, enjoys playing women who are giant and look like they have the strength to actually smash a hammer in the face of a monster? I love my Norn.

They’re not dainty, they don’t run through daisies (like in some other MMOs), and they grunt when they get hit.

I enjoy cheesy stuff and never take video games seriously. It gave me a giggle for sure.

As a heads up: If you set your post processing from high to low, the color comes back.

Hang around at some Tequatls. I think I’ve got about 10 people blocked (out of maybe 6 months of going to Taco) for overusing certain words that are abusive for giggles, and generally just being jerks towards others around them. That’s the one place I’ve seen the biggest problem, though I tend to not watch map chat (I have it in its own tab on the chat menu)

There’s more than just doing dailies to get AP

Finishing all the paths in each dungeon gives you AP. Doing each jumping puzzle for the first time to the end of it gives you AP. Collecting armor gets you AP I believe… the collection things (trash collector, crafting certain armor sets, fine wine, etc etc) all give you AP.

Take a look in your hero panel under achievements (very last one on the list). All those menus that open up give you AP goals.

Ever since the fix for falling down smaller inclines not giving you damage, every time I’ve run off a cliff, or jumped down from somewhere on purpose, it seems to have to think about giving damage to my character (as much kitten seconds later). Not experiencing lag in any other part of the game, just in when damage is given to the character – usually after they’ve started to run off again.

You didn’t miss out on it. I had it randomly spawn on me the other day while I was down in that area farming up logs. I haven’t seen any rhyme or reason to when it spawns, and I think it’s shown up a few times for me now, too.

I personally like the quirks of Asuran, and how well she seems to be a slightly nutso mesmer.

I just finally finished all three heads recently, and that was by going with that TTS group. What I found worked best was to be there at the waypoint for the triple trouble worm right after Tequatl was over, and be on their teamspeak. You don’t have to TALK on their teamspeak, but be there, because sometimes they’re counting AFKers by moving a few feet over to see who does and doesn’t follow, then they tell you if they’re changing maps (and if so, who to taxi onto).

Not sure how other large guilds do it.

I figure they’ll add something for dragonite. One day I’ll play my Engineer…

So I saw the biggest issue with the bloodstone and not getting rid of it, is time.

It took me the full month to do, farmed -everything- too. Stuck around Orr for a while, did the bosses while I farmed the wood (that gets rid of all those stacks of mining tools we got from winters day too). Any time you’re waiting on Jormag, chop up all the trees in the area to get the foxfires, etc, eventually you’ll have all the parts to put together.

it’s worth the time, and you can sell all the excess junk you get while farming pieces. Most nights I rarely play for an hour.

The only way to really complete events when they’re in low level maps is to sit at one camp site now until the event respawns and just do it 4x’s. People have been running all over snowden drifts this morning trying to catch up and tag the event before it’s over literally 5 seconds later. I’ve been bouncing back and forth as soon as the waypoint’s listed and the other 20 people kill the vet first.

Either randomize it every 100 people or work on scaling, since obviously they’re going to keep showing up in lower level maps to not alienate new people.

Yea, and once you get it, it shows up in your collection box which is shared over all the characters I haven’t finished the shoulders yet, so I don’t know if it unlocks all three versions of the alternate skins, missing a few more parts, but my strap is in there. But I’m pretty sure you only need the one per account.

Aren’t they just for the collection achievement to unlock the other versions of the skin?

Yes, those chests are what you get when defeating Tequatl, has nothing to do with the achievement There are usually 4, 3 for the defend the mega lazor events where you run back to kill undead, then 1 more for beating the dragon itself, then the large one on the ground.

Those you get once a day for doing the big event.

Because there’d be two groups of 3 vs each other, and 1 group of just two vs each other. Had to split them into batches of 3.

I already have all the achievements – the blue one is just odd for sure (I was rather confused by you saying you were getting chests like that). I know we were getting new chests with finishing story achievements when redoing the missions in Dry Top.

Maybe that’s the bug in of itself right there?

I just finished, this weekend, the achievement for killing all of those floating spawns of Cthulhu (the wind riders) and got no blue chest, just the points for finishing the category. Only time I do get blue chests is map completions.

They’re right – you don’t get a chest for getting all the achievements.

There was a chest back when it was Dragon week (the wings) when Tequatl was newly updated.

The event’s probably bugged in some way, try again tonight? Different parts of that entire event have been bugged and fixed over the last few months.

No one in the guild I’m in (who’s been together since day one), have over 15k AP. I think I just hit 13k.

I just absently play the game after reset and get all 5 dailies done about an hour later.

Also, just to randomly answer one question: Caravans are those giant lumbering dolyaks walking from a supply camp to a tower. Just hunt them down when your side’s swapping the supply camp and that’s 2 of them right there, or move between to camps that aren’t your team colors to find one to kill off

Might be because the sigils and runes for rares have always been level 39 (and exotic level is 60)

They have scrolls you can get (year anniversary, not sure where else), that’ll level you to level 20. After that, there are scrolls in PvP rewards that you can give to a new character for a level a piece.

I usually just run around with the birthday exp buff on, but I tend to not try to level fast.

My problem these days, after giving the Megaservers almost two months now of playing in… is this:

“When someone kills a monster, not just that player’s party but everyone who was seriously involved in the fight gets 100% of the XP and loot for the kill. When an event is happening in the world – when the bandits are terrorizing a village – everyone in the area has the same motivation, and when the event ends, everyone gets rewarded.”

That’s from their very first post, what I always liked about this game because my very first MMO was final fantasy XI. The game where you had to go camp with your guild starting at 4am because the big monster happened to be spawning during “Japanese Prime time”… they only spawned once a day, during a window of 3-4 hours and MAYBE you were lucky to be part of the group that hit the monster first. Then MAYBE you got loot.

So I’d always loved the whole “I helped fight the big bad monster, I got a chest off of his body…”

Now if you’re not one of the first X people, or not in a party with 4 strangers or guild members, you probably won’t get a loot bag off of the Karka Queen, or the Shaman at the Maw, or a number of other world bosses that draw a crowd.

So yea… just add that one to the list from their original manifesto of a game that used to work that way, but’s now changed to “those that can be there instantly and run faster then 100 other people and might hit it first”.

Sure it’s just one bag, but it’s still just the idea… Look at the map chat, everyone’s hollaring to be in a group, or saying they have spots open. The other day at the Jungle Worm, a commander was mapchatting in capslock DEMANDING people party up or they won’t get any rewards. It IS now about what party you’re in, or hits first, or does the most damage.

About time.
I was getting tired of people getting bent out of shape over the “right order” to run around and mindlessly poke stuff.

I invite you to check out Hope Remains We’re pretty active, mostly in the evenings, but don’t mind when people get busy at all (We won’t kick your butt for being gone a few weeks – currently a couple’s out cause of broken bones…)

Fridays we try to do group WvW, and sometimes we hurl ourselves into PvP, and do dungeons when someone wants to run a few. I (usually on Geigi) like to run around following the world boss group.

We’re USA mostly, a couple of Europeans that play with us as well. At least 4-5 of us will rep other guilds from time for banking, or playing with friends, though if we do guild events we ask that you rep our guild.

Some of us PvP here and there, and on Fridays most of us head into WvW to help with reset night.

I’ve been doing Tequatl at the 9pm CST time, and try to keep everyone who’s on up to date on who’s next or where the zerg group is running off to next.

I’m off to work for a few hours, but if you mention “geigi” sent you if you do apply, please throw that in there so an officer can push it through!

Yea.. someone just did it this morning, ticked everyone off, since who ever did the feedback obviously knew about the issue.

Over the last few weeks, each attempt has gotten better and better with the mixed up servers… And I’ve finally been in a killing group 4x’s now. Before it? No one was ever there, and the first month when he was reintroduced, the ones I was at never got it below 10%.

Give it some more time. People are still figuring it out. All the fails are with only 25% life remaining, which is better than what it used to be by FAR. Map chat needs to be filled less with people ripping others a new one, or calling everyone names, because that tends to make everyone purposefully lay there dead to kitten off the “yelling” people.

Figure out what times are better kill times… for our time zone it’s the 9pm CST worm. Two megaservers took him out last night that our guild was split across.

and yea, don’t nerf it. I read all the “how tos” but once in the fight, I learned it finally a heck of a lot better than just reading the walk thrus. Now that I get it, it’s a rather good fight.

So, my guild is split between two megaservers for the Golem Mark 2 (one EU person, 5 NA people currently)

And my husband that’s currently in the same house as I am, on the same internet… is on the other megaserver…. I thought we’d be sorted into the same one?

The other husband/wife pair is split up as well, and they’re in the same house too.

After setting the dyes, did you click the “these changes will cost 0 transmutation charges” off to the right of the hero panel? You can view changes, but if you don’t apply that, they will not stick.

I think it’s more of an issue with how this MMO and some others, were set up. You can play solo, except for harder content like dungeons, etc. I recall in FFXI, when it first came out (Don’t know about it now, been 4-5 years since I played it), I knew more people, because to get past level 10, you HAD to have a party. So you were almost “forced” to get to know others outside of your guild in order to advance through the game.

We’ve also just added a Hope Remains only PvP server for the next month to play “kill everyone else in the guild” to learn the maps for PvP, etc

Yea, I saw it go from 20 to 21 to 20 for me in a few seconds while looking at it.

I queued, my husband queued, then two more guildies queued. Since I was booted out of EotM, I was in another zone, they were still in EotM.

I was at 25, husband was at 24, other two said “cool, 26 and 28 here”

I finished a heart. I was at 24, husband said “Oh 15!”, the other two said “14 & 16.”

I finished off another section with an event, “24 still”
Husband: 12
other two “11” , “10” (one jumped ahead of her husband)

I finished off another heart, 23.
“5, 4, 6”

Two left to watch the olympics, I was at 20, jumped to 21, then down to 20, husband was at 4, so we left the queue.

So even over 15 minutes or so it could have one person (myself in this case), drop very slowly from 27 to 24, and everyone else go from the mid twenties to 5-6 in line? The game just did not like me today. Kept kicking me out of EotM as well, so I gave up on the queue as well when everyone else who clicked the queue at the same time got in way ahead of me

That kind of explains I guess why I stayed at 24 while everyone else in my party went from mid twenties to 5, 6, 7 in the queue

Pretty much what Lexandro said. Granted, I haven’t checked in a while (work all week, etc), so I’m not sure if this is still on going.

Basically what was happening was we’d start the shipment event, Brenda would walk off, and the Brother would head back, and that’s when (if active) the Pre-events would start. Except they weren’t, and SB would go back to being shown as in active.

Oak just wasn’t spawning, period. Not during the zerg run or anything.

SB’s pre-events (both assisting monastery and the ancient oak) on Crystal Desert have been not working, since late last week (Thursday or Friday’ish). Any time someone finishes the monastery, nothing happens afterwards, the beer travels off with being blessed, but no portals appear. I heard from people running the zerg in Queensdale that the oak doesn’t even spawn.

We’ve been having issues yesterday and today with people NOT seeing our tags next to our names on Crystal Desert. People’ve been trying to invite a few of us because we appear to be guildless (and we are representing, even swapped between two guilds to see if either showed)

So right now on Crystal Desert, everyone’s busy doing the new content and Jormag’s Claw is happily breathing his waves of ice across the dead bodies of the Vigil, etc.

He should give up after maybe 20 minutes of no one even attempting to break the ice wall, stretch his wings, and start taking out the entire zone camp by camp.

Poor dragon looks bored.

Deposit the into your pvp locker (you can access it in the pvp zone of the mists). You’ll have a locker there to view and will see that the leather is no longer soul bound. It worried me yesterday too because the leather chest and heavy armor hat I got on my elementalist said the same thing, then I accidentally sorted my bag and it all vanished from inventory.

Went to go check there (I don’t pvp, so it took me a while to realize that it probably was dumped into that zone), and there it was. I THINK my light armor gloves I’d gotten were soulbound to her, but everything else wasn’t.
