They know that some stuff has to be toned down. They’ll tone it down. The patch will be adjusted. That’s how balance patches work pretty much in every game. They come out with a patch and they adjust it.
I know guys. I keep telling myself this. But after so long im just losing faith. Were they testing the patch? what did the testers say? Were they waiting to just see if the players were gonna just silently enjoy the even easier content? meh i dunno
i just got 2 friends to reinstall and try the game and they all just chuckled at the easymode and uninstalled 2 hours later. so now im kinda embarrassed i fell for the hype again
You could always go to a zone that is harder, join WvWvW, or find new friends.
Zone that is harder lol? theyre all the same. thats the scaling. im level 80. Silverwastes is only slightly more challenging than Queensdale. Done with the revolving WvW game of army ants. And not interested in rolling swamp and speed running another fractal.

GW2 has always been a hack n’ slash diablo style combat; but now its got even easier to just slaughter groups of mobs. Seriously – with this level of faceroll easymode – it has gotten even more dumb to trait/gear anything OTHER than just pure damage.
Meaningful trait/build diversity. The old dream. It seems it will never come true. I am still on the fence on whether or not to buy the expansion and now I leaning towards not. I know theyre promising “challenging group content” oooOOh!! Ahhhh!! more hype. I bought that lie back in beta and got burnt. Im thinking I dont want to be again.

It’s horrible, it looks like my necro is having a bad dream and is trying to wave away the evil pixies.
what’s worse is it completely removes the offhand, doesn’t even pop in at the end of the attack, so no howler while auto attacking, though as howler is bugged too maybe I shouldn’t care…
exactly. ;(
Did they change the axe 1 animation ? I hope it is just a bug on my character because it looks crappy
the animation is beyond awful. Seriously ended any fun of playing my necro. I just cant stand watching her attack now.. The other animations look great but whomever did this new animation needs to get a new job mopping floors… seriously.
So i havent played in about a year… my wife and i thought we’d check it out again see if gw2 has gotten more interesting yet.
And apparently there is a new Axe animation for necro autoattack and it looks like absolute garbage. The animations and models of GW2 were always its strong points… so did they outsource this animation to a local high school kid? seriously… how did this get through QA? When played along with the other high quality animations, this just looks ridiculous in comparison. ugh i cant stand to even look at my character now.
My husband and I play side by side, on almost the exact same computers (we custom built, same hardware). Specs are:
MSI Z87-G45 gaming motherboard
Intel I5 4570 CPU
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti graphics card
Coolermaster 850W PSU
His has 12 gigs of RAM, mine has 8, both CorsairNow the issue. Where we both played with almost equal FPS before (with his being a smidgen higher), the patch just before Wintersday, his FPS dropped from 80-100 fps at high settings to 25-35 fps on low. Mine has stayed the same.
I’ve cleaned both comps, checked for spyware/malware/viruses, did a check for disk errors, and updated all drivers. Nothing has helped him. No comp problems other than the lag/fps issue in this game.
Any suggestions?
I have the exact same experience… kittening ridiculous. getting at most half of the FPS i should be getting. Zero issues with any other game. completely healthy system with a fresh install of GW2 which i dropped last year out of boredom and now i regret reinstalling this borefest. so i guess i dont even care that this gets fixed lol. hope it works out for you tho.
What is your CPU temps also what are your Windows power managment setting at it needs to be set to high performance.
CPU temps are fine. i have a custom system with one of the best coolers on the market… under heavy load its 45C. no power saving features are enabled. as i said, the system runs perfectly fine in games even more intensive and power hungry than GW2 so this is some sort of software issue and its only with GW2 so that leads me to believe it is the client… could i be wrong? sure. but as others are experiencing the same exact issue and its not amd or intel or blah blah dependent then that leads me to believe hardware is not the issue.
Check the thread from people having the same issue from the 9/9 patch, they still have not fixed anything from 3 months ago. They don’t seem to really care because it is not happening to enough people.
The problem with these threads is that as soon as someone from Anet support posts to a thread it brings out everyone that thinks they have the same problem when in fact this posted issues is most likely effecting a very small number of players. I’m almost positive that 90% or less of the posts are unrelated to the first post. There’s even at least 10 posts that are lag related not do to fps and I just quickly scanned threw the pages there are probliby more. So this is not an accurate measure of the 9/9 patch issue also there are a number of people that may have developed an issue near a patch release date and blame there issues on the patch when it was something totaly unrelated to that patch or update or had the issue all along and not realized it or didn’t care but here comes the patch and people have had issues then they think we’ll I have this issue so its got to be the patch. Blaming one issue related to an old patch to a new issue is not helpful.
ya this is FPS.. not lag. wtf. people are quoting their FPS.. . not latency.. as if we even could in this game
I was playing earlier today just fine, just logged back on and was having these issues again.
same here.. its so freaking random. Last night I played fine for an hour… got dinner, came back… FPS in the toilet… wtf. this morning… same crap
i have a fresh install of GW2 btw… i had not played for a year and just reinstalled last week. im starting to think its because i have never bought gems. i bet they target accounts that dont buy gems and keep them from playing

problem is back.. all day long. switching from Windowed to Fullscreen isnt working, rebooting isnt working. kind of annoying. Every other game works fine.
And you verified that your GPU is actually linked at 16x and not 1x (GPU-Z tells you this info)
yes verified. MSI Afterburner reports no unusual VRAM usage, somewhat high GPU usuage, temperatures all fine ~65-70c. gpu clock is normal. and all other 3D applications/games work perfectly.
this is a fresh install of GW2 btw… i havent played for a year and i just installed last week.

Update #2: Solved (kinda)
It is definitely something to do with being in either Windowed or Fullscreen mode. I logged in again after a reboot and was getting massive FPS drops… from 50 to 20, etc. Switched to Fullscreen and it was solved. Switch to Windowed, logout, reboot. FPS drop again… reboot, enter game, reboot, switch to Fullscreen, logout. reboot. Enter Game, fine. So i dont know if there is some kind of “force fullscreen” code that can be done. But being in Fullscreen mode in the options does NOT guarantee my FPS will be normal. Just seems luck of the draw but thats definitely my issue.
my input.. hope it helps
update: well i’ve been logging in once or twice just to try… no luck.
AND then this afternoon – with absolutely nothing different in my computer – my FPS is back to normal. /boggled
so was there a ninja patch or something? im afraid to logout and never play again.. heh
download GPU-Z and verify your PCIE link speeds are set at 16x version 2 while GW2 is running.
ya all the hardware is running correctly. Performance is still terrible. Skyrim still runs at 75 FPS tho, heh…
thanks
Same here… used to run game 30-65 FPS.. now, no matter what settings i get 10-20 fps just standing still.. system runs every other game fine.
amd 1100t
amd 6950 (latest drivers)
8gm RAM
256 SSD
win 7 64
Usually I get ~ 30-65 FPS depending on the area of the game and player activity – i.e. Jormag fight or soloing. For some odd reason I am now getting 15 FPS just standing still in Lions Arch. I followed the official GW2 post and made a custom 3D application profile for GW2, etc. Completely healthy computer that works perfectly in all games.. except GW2. When first loading into the game past character selection screen, the client flickers – almost as if it doesnt know what resolution or what monitor to run on or if it should be in Windowed mode… dunno thats just a hunch. I tried lowering all Graphics settings to Low and playing in Windowed Fullscreeen, Windowed, and Full Screen. nothing works.
AMD 1100t@4.1ghz
AMD 6950 2GB Videocard (LATEST DRIVERS)
8gb RAM
256gb SSD
Monitors x 2
Windows 7 64bit
This used to happen about a year ago (last time i played) and rebooting would solve it. Now it doesnt. I only play GW2 about once a year so no big deal but any help would be cool, thanks.

^but wouldn’t that make Teq instanced content?
how is it instanced if there are random other players from multiple random servers?
Wholeheartedly agree! Id like to see more challenging content put into the game.
Only criticism? I think the new content shows the need for improvements in key parts of the game. The ability to choose overflow, for instance, would ignite guild play even further as guilds themselves try to take down Tequatl without having to worry whether everyone is on the same map.
that is an excellent idea!
And now I understand what one of my guildmates was saying on voice the other night.. i couldnt understnad why he was saying we should want to be on an overflow, but he was making your exact point, and I agree that would definitely “ignite guild play”.
Seriously. Thank you for injecting some challenge and thrill into your latest content. The possibility of Failure adds tension and excitement that was desperately lacking in GW2. Now success is soooo much the sweeter because of this. Scarlet’s Invasion, Tequatl and now the Twilight Assault Aether path in Twilight Arbor have awakened my guild back into buzzing excitement over GW2. Fail at Tequatl? You get nothing, good day sir!
Instead of a slow-drip anesthetic experience where victory and the inevitable loot chest were assured, now we can FAIL. Now we actually discuss our group Trait build synergy. Now we actually discuss strategy a bit. We laugh and moan at the Failure and cheer the greater when we succeed – instead of the hum-drum “so what did you get in the chest?”. Last night we failed 7 times on Legendary Clockheart (which is my new favorite fight!) before achieving victory!!! Yes, “achieve” feels like the right word there, i can honestly say it felt like we worked for it. Love it.
You’ve always done fluffy fun events very well. But thank you for some of these more challenging and exciting lore filled events. I still think there is room to improve and I’d like to see the penalty for failure hurt even more but my guild is still very pleased. And as the guild leader I am personally indebted to you because honestly our guild activity was nearly dead until this new trend of content. Our players would log in for dailies and then silently leave the game. Now players are chatting, now theyre jumping on voice chat, trading with each other, helping each other, discussing the game, making plans for existing and new characters.
Thanks.

Bosses can be critical hit. Objects cannot be critical hit.
For some reason, they made world bosses objects instead of creatures.
hmmm ok.. and “world bosses” are just the dragons or does that include champions and temple bosses too? is there a comprehensive up-to-date list of world bosses?
(edited by thefounder.2074)
Just starting the game… people tell me to just gear “full beserker” which is power/precision/crit% of course.. but I hear that Bosses in GW2 cannot be critical hit.. so why the hell would beserker gear be good in PVE? just clearing trash mobs? seems like most dungeon trash mobs are just bypassed with exploits or just running past them out of combat.
/confused
thanks for the replies
where’s the zerg?
$68. $60 for the game and $8 in taxes. Im not giving them additional money for worthless content such as a flute and fluffy clothing. If they want more of my money they better release an expansion with true content in it or it’ll stay at $68 until i quit the game.
not gonna happen bud… a month after release players were complaining for “real content”. its a year now… not gonna happen. be happy with this fluffy easy content or move on. Lots of great MMO choices coming soon, EQNext, FF XIV, and then Wildstar and Elder Scrolls Online. Right now i play Skyrim mostly, and then GW2 about once a month. GW2 just never felt like a game worth a long term investment. But I’ve never spent a dime on the gem shop so I think i got my money’s worth.

and see zero reason to pay a cent.
dear odin, please let EQNext be awesome.
You got a free copy of Guild Wars 2?!?!? Lucky!!! :o
actually I did! half of my guild wasnt sure if we wanted to play GW2 so the guild leader bought 4 of us copies lol. ironically im the only one that still plays… rarely, but i still get online once or twice a month.
O.O"
Guild Wars 2 is the most grindy MMO you have ever played!? Please recommend some of the more casual ones for me.
lol everything of value in this game costs 250 of rare X, 500 of rare Y, 1 of rare Z (bought with 200 of rare A).
just because the grind is optional doesnt mean there isnt grind. And considering the entire game is a cosmetic fluff collection game, and it all costs rare items you need to GRIND events, dungeons, etc for… ya thats grind. big grind.
Answer me this.. what goals or game activities do you do that arent attached to a currency grind, hmmm?
ya, thats what I thought. nothing.
But since I’m not locked out of content by not having specific gear (with the exception of the highest level fractals),. it doesn’t matter. In other games you HAVE TO HAVE X gear to progress. Not so here.
Hell you can do all the living story stuff on a low level character. It’s just not that type of game. If you come here playing Guild Wars 2 like every other MMO, believing you need BIS gear to do stuff, it’s a grind.
If you just play and get stuff when you get it, it’s not a grind. And because the content isn’t gated by gear, the grind IS optional. You don’t have to do it to play the entire game.
optional? what else is there to do? seriously.. tell me what you do that does NOT involve currency grind? seriously. GW2’s foundation is collecting cosmetic items.. thats it. and it all involves currency grind. you just get the OPTION to choose which to grind. still grinding though.

Do you feel attached to your GW2 characters?
I ask because… i recently returned to the game after 4 months and it seems all of my 5 guild’s are dead with 6 players total logging online in the past 3 months. So I started talking to a friend on mumble and he mentioned casually that he took a break from GW2 and let his 12 yr old nephew play. He returned to find that the nephew had deleted 3 of his max level characters. And to my surprise, he just laughed about it. Laughed. And that got me thinking….
I would have freaked out if I lost 3 max level characters in the other MMOs i’ve played; I get really attached to my characters. But then I asked myself: What about GW2? Would I have reacted like my nonchalant friend? I realized – I would. I just dont care about my GW2 account. And suddenly I felt a little bummed out lol. GW2 is the most grindy game I’ve ever played, and all that grind, if it disappeared into the void, I would probably just shrug it off.
Been away from GW2 for about 3 months.. when i returned today, I felt like my Hammer Warrior and Axe/Dagger Necro had oddly different animations. especially the Hammer Warrior.. he swings his hammer and just looks contorted and odd. Dont remember it being this way. I asked politely in map chat but i got “welcome back nub” and “go back to WoW” replies for some reason lol. Also, according to guild history nobody has been online for 2 months so nobody to ask there…
So did they change the animations?
Thanks
I would say don’t worry about PVP anymore than you already have, which is virtually none. This topic is made in small part out of spite since I’m a PVPer but at the same time it’s the honest to god truth. This is the best PVE game there is and probably will be for a long while.
Leave PVP to Wildstar, SMITE, and possibly TESO.
definitely the easiest PVE MMO there is.. but, for me, that doesnt make it the “best”. the game lacks any thrill or danger. Everything is so easy. There is no tension during a boss fight.. youre not worried about “if” you will defeat the boss; youre just worried about how much loot will be in the chest. I dont feel a sense of accomplishment… more like a sense of endurance for keeping up with the many currency grinds. gold, laurels, tokens, karma…
the game is fine i guess.. but when i play i feel like im taking part in a grocery store shopping spree rather than a fantasy role playing game.
It is an incredibly anti-melee game in PvE
I get that melee is supposed to be a higher risk-reward but the scale is just completely off.
90% of fights in this game are a snooze-fest for ranged combat and can easily be beat by avoiding the red circles.
Melee have to not only avoid the red circles through a clusterkitten of particle effects, they must also observe the boss animations for any sort of 360 melee swings or choreographed attacks and avoid their auto attacks which sometime trigger within 0.5 seconds.
And all that while the boss randomly switches aggro targets every 5 seconds.
Totally balanced.
The biggest joke is the number of abilities that ONLY target melees and that ranged simply don’t have to worry about.
exactly.
i posted about this during beta (mmorpg.com) and talked with other players about this. Anet heard the comments.. said they were “looking into it” which is basically mollifying the playerbase while nothing is actually done.
seriously… either Anet has the WORST game testers ever. bad bad. or the devs just didnt act on their comments. GW2 is the prettiest game ive ever played. but its completely devoid of depth in combat mechanics. skill based? rofl.
GW2 is mash and dodge. rinse repeat until the boss is dead. zero group dynamics. zero need for any utility synergy or teamwork or trait specs. just get it done and get it done fast.. we have 109201920192 other dungeon tokens to grind.
mashy mashy
ya this is a major weakspot of GW2… the pointlessness of joining a PVE guild. WvW however has obvious incentives to join and play but PVE is pretty weak.
i play MMORPGS for the M’s… the massive multiplayer aspect.. the social aspect of working together with a guilds, with friends, meeting strangers – feeling like im a part of a huge world and working towards goals. GW2 has none of this in any interesting way. Nothing to make me feel a part of a guild. Grinding influence? meh ok i guess. I’d much rather guild sized events or achievements that unlocked guild upgrades. I mean 5 man dungeons are a joke of easiness and you can random PUG speedfarm everything just as easily as you can in a guild group.
i’ve joined 4 PVE and PVX guilds since launch… all started off as active guilds with healthy numbers and “mature” and “dedicated” players. but theyre all inactive ghosttowns now. Nobody is getting online… but my WvW guild maintains steady online activity since launch. When i listen to people in voice chat.. i get this overwhelming impression that people are already looking forward to other games and have lost interest in GW2 PVE… but the WvW guild voicechat is buzzing with activity and interest.
Extremely low fps - reasonable specs (IMO)

Currently i am only getting 10-20fps(averaging 15) in everypart of the map i’m in, here are the specs:
CPU: Intel Core2 Duo 2.20ghz
RAM: 4.00 GB
GPU: Nvidia GT 220M 1GB
Windows 7 64bitI have already lowered of turned of the graphics settings in the game menu, it would be awesome if someone could give me some tips or anything that could possibbly fix this. (:
ewww i wouldnt run my clock radio off that…
exaggerating of course… but thats seriously weak for gaming. youre lucky to get 10-20.
It’s free.. i seriously doubt i’ll ever spend a cent.
It’s a mildly decent diversion while I wait for more immersive games to release.
My PVE guilds have mostly quit for WoW, League of Legends and Planetside2. I’m not interested in playing those and since GW2 is mostly a solo player’s paradise, I can get online and PUG any content i need easily and log out; I dont really mean this as a backhanded compliment but… GW2 is easy to put down and very forgettable; i mean that in a good way haha.
just as the title states… I’m curious to know where server populations (medium, high, full, etc) come from in MMORPGs? the company or is there a verifiable 3rd party? I’ve been playing MMOs since EQ and always wondered this.
On the 8th day of Christmas, GW2 gave to meeeeee…… more reasons to hope Elder Scrolls Online and Everquest Next are great gamessssss!!
hmmm think ill go play some skyrim.. cya!
90 members – only 6 on last night. Do the math.
exactly… every time i get into game i check all 4 of my PVE guilds and out of 4 guilds there might be 10 total online – primetime EST US.
and not only that.. but my contact list is huge, as i have a habit of adding cool players that i’ve done random dungeons and events with. i think i have around 35-40 players listed and i check it regularly because i like to group with fun people and personalities. but its just GRAY… none of them are getting online.
GW2 has very very weak social stickiness.
(edited by thefounder.2074)
dragons??! oooh you mean the fall asleep loot pinatas? the loud annoying salamanders i can tickle with a stick while blindfolded and loot falls out. ooooh we should have a new abbreviation inspired by GW2!!
TE:TB:DC
Too Easy, Too Boring, Dont Care
spread it around!
article is pretty accurate but i dont think the multiple guild system is the problem at all; it’s the fact that there is zero reason to be in a PVE guild. I can do everything just as well in a random group. joined 4 PVE guilds all have become ghost-towns. seriously nobody gets online anymore and if there is one or two people they never communicate at all. and with good reason.. there is no good reason to be in a PVE guild, no activities that make a PVE guild feel cohesive or fun to work together towards.
but my WvW guild experience is the opposite… it has thrived and its full of communication and laughing and kittening and sharing and raging and life, etc. these players very rarely do PVE though. they just dont care about it. and for good reason.
also i dont think the article’s writer is accurate when he calls the World Dragons “punching bags”. theyre more accurately called “Loot Pinatas” lol. just tickle them with a stick while blindfolded and they spill free loot haha sad
love this fractal.. intense and fast paced, demands a good amount of teamwork and the end is just sheer poetry. i wish the final boss at the chain was a weeee bit tougher though.
make sure to return the /bow to the Colossus too ;;)
It wouldn’t be so bad if your character didn’t move at snail speed when in combat. Like, no joke. I feel like I’m being trolled every time I get hit by a mob and frustration just sets in. It’s akin to being dazed on your mount in WoW. Nothing but annoyance, no it doesn’t make you “feel” the dangers of the zone, it doesn’t add anything important.
exactly… i can AE pretty well.. but its just silly and dumb and repetitive and annoying and tiresome to kill 4 mobs and by the time the 4th dies… the first one respawns.
So Orr is a bit painful to travel through, I get that and I agree. But it really is not that bad… I like Orr, it is…. challengeing. Yes it is less colorful and whatnot… but it is a land of the dead. I have been underwater rotting for centuries. It looks the way it should.
If you all hate it so much just leave it after you got what you came there for and never return.Well, the biggest problem is that you don’t have a lot of other options for getting materials for lvl80 crafting from the other areas… There are only two other areas that have some of the T6 materials. So, you’re virtually forced to go to Orr unless you want to farm for the gold so you can buy that stuff on the TP. And that would be a sad state…
Ok did not think of that… maybe because I don’t do farming as it is boring to me and I play to have fun. Not done all that much crafting either.
However I still like Orr and since I know some of that farming is done in groups it is less bad. Or like… I think it is what it should be. Difficult, challenging and deadish looking.
thing is.. i dont find it challenging.. just annoying. very very very annoying. i love the look of it.. but playing there.. ugh.
Ya know, you can make your own homemade napalm for very cheap. Recipe is on the internet.
But I’m not sure about a delivery method. You’d have to get that laser from Tron to digitize your homemade napalm, and then have your character run into Orr for delivery. I suggest a naked run, since this run will certainly result in your demise, and lets not add a repair bill on top of a waypoint fee (which will be a considerable distance after the complete destruction of Orr).
Although, if it destroys Orr your character will probably not be ressurectable. Use an alt.
this is sound advice. i think i will go full throttle into The Cursed Shore with my town clothes on – and my GW2 Celebration Cap – and then just KABOOOOOM
Thats good. Save your money and spend it somewhere that matters.
The Chanel F/W 2012 collection is pretty amazing.
John Galliano and Chloe S/S 2013 are both REALLY great collections with lots of choice. Save your money and take a look at both if you have the chance!
those are worthy uses of my money.. but im still invested in the napalm idea
Imagine if they included shoes in the cash shop….just………………imagine!
as much as i am susceptible to the allure of buying shoes and booties… the overwhelming hatred i feel for playing in the Orrian Zones has vaccinated me from ever using my creditcard in this game.
The Orrian Lands are the cure for killing any impulse you might have to buy gems. It will inoculate your credit card; try it. Everytime I start to enjoy this game, its infrequent but it happens – everytime I mildly become interested in my character and her future – I think about buying Gems with $$$. I am lucky enough that real life currency is not a worry for me.. actually my husband says I’m a spendthrift (fancy talk for spending money recklessly) but he cant talk too much because my salary is almost twice his. but i digress.
Everytime I’m about to make a purchase… I find myself in The Cursed Shore or Malchor’s Leap. After about 30minutes I start to fantasize about how i could napalm these maps. How, if i were an omniscient being, i would construct a timemachine to return to the past and make sure the map designers abort these atrocities. Can napalm destroy binary code? like forever? I dont know much about napalm but i see it in movies and it looks powerful enough to erase these maps from existence. My MMO memory is scarred forever, but atleast future players would be safe from harm. I dont mean I want all the mobs dead… i do, but i mean i want a black hole on the map. I want to see shadow there.. i dont want them to exist or be able to traveled to. This is like a Quantum Leap episode or Touched By An Angel mission; I’m here to save the soul of the game, to fix a wrong and set the future of Guild Wars 2 back on track. This mission of hope has nothing to do with the wonderful GW2 art team which have painted and constructed a visual/audio masterpiece. The art was obviously kidnapped by an evil poltergeist to become host for its twisted, sadistic designs.
I also fantasize about bringing weapons of destruction from other games to help in our erasing of Orrian Zones from MMO history.. a Liberator bomber from Planetside 2, Frostmourne from Warcraft, Excalibur, the Half Life Crowbar, a Borg Ship. If we can combine the collective power of these mighty weapons we can do it. I also read that the CERN particle accelerator in Switzerland has a very small chance of creating a micro Black Hole. Lets all cross our fingers and toes and hope and pray that the Black Hole swallows only the programming code of the Orrian Lands… and then is like so sick to its stomach that it leaves our universe and vomits in a parallel universe.
+1 please for hope.

I’m willing to bet you are the same guy who won’t hesitate to ignore or kick players with lower fractals levels than you either.
I’m one of those but at least I know I’m no hypocrite.
oh ya? what you basing that bet on? and how much you willing to bet? cuz my contacts list gained 2 followers tonight after I joined them for their Arah Story and then popped their Fractals1 cherry. so i guess your hypocrite radar is broke. maybe instead of smelling a hypocrite, your nose was telling you that you need a shower

this talk and irrational panic about gearscore and vertical gear progression is the most groundless and vapid melodrama. these people need to make this a boogeyman. and since this forum is overrun with it, i’d like to share my experience..
I’ve played since BWE1. And I’ve never once been asked about my gear quality. it’s never been an issue and i’ve pugged Explorables every night since I was level 35. and nor have i ever been denied a group in an Explorable OR A FRACTAL group because I wasnt lvl 80. And I’ve never seen a map chat that has advertised LFM for only players with Exotics. Although i have seen players ask for only lvl 80s, its rare. I’ve been a vocal critic of Anet and I despise both fanboy and haters, equally. But about this current melodrama i see no substance.
and in game, i just dont hear anyone complaining about vertical gear progession either. my guild is on Fractal Difficulty 12 now and two of us arent even lvl 80 yet so theres probably only a handful of exotics between us. We value the Ascended Gear as a great middle ground between exotic and Legendaries – which for us seemed completely out of grasp. And we just adore the Fractals dungeons; they are a joy to play.
No system is going to please everyone. There are aspects of the game I;m still not content with, but I wont pretend to know whats best for the overall health and longevity of the game. Arenanet knows that best and are certainly privy to information us players will never have. This is just simply mine and my guild’s experience.
Lost Shores is no endgame for us; we still run Explorable dungeons and work on map completion, get pwned in WvW, trade minipets and level crafting and do silly events like naked jump puzzles and treasure hunts. Bottom Line: Lost Shores has NOT changed our GW2 experience or goals, it has ENRICHED them.
