I run Power too. The problem is that the dungeons in gw2 dont have any other mechanic to them besides kill the boss as fast as possible.
Therefore Warriors are the best choice.
Necros are a better choice in wvw and pvp.
In my opinion this is not good build on tpvp.
My Mesmer kill those “OP Necros” before they will ewen know with one is real.

2. Vampiric isn’t 200-300 per second, its at most what, 50 per hit? Maybe 100 per second with dagger auto?
Um dagger auto attack hits 4 times per second. That is 200 HP per second.

Running this with a venom share thief kills quickly.
LIFE SIPHON
Vampiric Master – The life siphon on the minions hits harder than their basic attack. This is 110% increase in minion damage for half of the minions. The reason why it is higher now is because Life Siphon Damage now scales slightly with Power. I wear a berserker ammy, so i have a lot of power.
Vampiric – Dagger auto attack now heals for 200-300 per second. That is another regen almost.
Life Siphon (dagger #2) – This heals me for at least 2.5k every 12 seconds. It also does 4-5K dmg to the target.
Transfusion – Heals minions and allies for 4K with low healing power.
CCs
Chill – Mark #3, Focus #5, DS #2, and when you switch to the dagger.
Immobilize – Dagger #3, Bone Fiend, DS #5. All of these can go off within 2 seconds of each other and last for 8 seconds.
Fear – Staff #5, DS #3. Great for preventing a stomp or enemy revive. If the target has stability, hit them with focus #5 to rip three boons.
Flesh Golem Charge – knock down and multi target.
Damage and lots of it
Minions – I feel like I am cheating to just sit back and watch minions do so much dps.
Dagger Auto Attack – This should be used 70%-80% of the time. It builds Life Force and does high dps. Clothies drop to minions and dagger auto attack.
Life Transfer – This does 3-4K AOE damage and heals your team. Use it as much as you can, or save it for when you bunker guardian is on cooldown. Also use it to keep your minions alive.
Mark #4 – Always crits because of the sigil. Crits for 3K AOE, and it is my 3rd blast finisher.
Final Thoughts
I usually play a power necro, so this MM build is power based. I have not tried condis with it because I go 20 points into the power tree to get the minion damage increase.

You should go with Fear lasts longer instead of Marks giving you life force.

ANet doesn’t want to give us Vigor/Stability or access to much protection.
They say this would just make us a guardian.
I totally understand. I have a Guardian and I do see the concern. I think if they gave us a hammer that gives a 3 second stability/chill well it would be very necroish. All the other skills could be Chill, Vuln, Imobilize, Weakness.
Make it a Death hammer with a small amount of stability. I dont think this would replace Guardians at all.
Necros can survive just as well as a guardian or warrior on the front line in WvW, but we cannot give AOE stability like Guardians can. The support for a necro is better if the Necro is standing off to the side of the fight.
If ANet would give us a CC/support Hammer, there are many different builds that we could use on the front line and be successful. We are successful now on the front line, but we could offer so much more if we had Hammers.
AOE immobilize/stun in a well.
I would bet that Necros would be more popular in tPvP as bunkers as well. Hammer and dagger/focus – wells, DS, Plauge Form. That would be one scary Bunker.
I just want to see how many people want this as well.
Torch and Hammer! Torch for condi builds. Hammer for the tankiest most kitten CC class in game.

I like the name Well of Death.

Cripple (2s)
Pulse: 3/4 second
Duration: 6 seconds
Radius: 240
Combo Field: Ice
This well would be a Damage/CC well. Making it an Ice field gives allies a chance to Chill the enemy. This has good synergy with the cripple condition ticking 8 times for a total of 16 seconds. The damage would be slightly above Well of Suffering.
I would like the Combo Field to change from a light field to a water field.
Is there anyone who shares this opinion?
Your trait tree has nothing to do with the dagger.
The only build for dungeons that you should be using is Zerker. d/d and axe/focus.
So no one in the past year has actually tested it?
I took a break from the Guardian around Christmas. I have been playing my Necro since then, so I am not current on a lot of Guardian topics.
Has anyone tested Signet of Judgment?
Is the wiki accurate in saying that it reduces dmg and condi dmg by 10%?
Is it viable in the almighty AH build? Could it possibly be used instead of the AH build?
Warrior is definitely the King of dps. It has the 2 highest skills for skill dmg. The GS #2 and the Axe #5.
Guardians can pull just under what a warrior does, but it is not recommended because guards are in the low health tier. You would have to be running with a group that knows what they are doing to go full Zerker on a guard.
For what the Guardian lacks in dps it makes up for in group survivability.
I bunker all the time on my Necro. I live longer than guardians too. Mid Necro bunker imo is the best. Guardians just dont have enough health or damage.
I want Frostfang because i use the axe 90% of the time. I dont think it looks good with a necro though.
The point of 97% chance to crit is that I will always crit. I can rely on Life Blast to crit for 5K and pierce through a whole zerg at 1200 range. It is like a warrior’s Kill Shot except I can do it 20 times straight. But that is just for WvW.
In dungeons you don’t need Foot in the Grave as much. NPCs are dumb, especially in this game.
In sPvP you start with zero Life Force, so I use #4 then #2 on the axe to get life force. At this point in a 1v1 they are below 50% health (excluding bunkers of course). They will use their heal and be at a full 20K health. Pop into DS and 4 hits later they are dead. 4 hits = 4s. If you fear them properly, you can get 2 shots off and they can’t do anything. It is a guaranteed crit for 5K each shot. If they aint dead, you axe #2 is cooled down. That is another 5K.
The 10 extra point you can put where ever. I use vital persistence as well; it depends on my mood.
I will look into the might thing though. I dont sPvP much. I primarily WvW and run dungeons.
I see why someone would use Valkyrie, but I dont like sacrificing my crit chance when im out of DS. If i get fury then im at 67% crit chance. It is really easy to pick up furry with all the Zerker warriors running around.
TLDR; Deathly Perceptions, Close to Death, and Axe Training together make one badkitten DPS build. 97% crit chance in DS. 11K crit with Ghastly Claws and 9K crits with Life Blast.
I have not seen any discussions about Deathly Perceptions yet. Everyone is whining about Dhuumfire and Terror being OP when they are not nearly as beautiful as Deathly Perceptions.

In PvE I run Zerker armor and weapons with Knights Trinkets. Knights armor in sPvP is different than the rest of the game, so my PvE stats are:
Power: 3,512
Crit Chance: 47% (in DS 97%)
Crit Dmg: 75%
Armor: 2,235
Health: 21,223
(Note: Some people say this is to squishy of a build. It really isn’t. I have two health bars because of DS. I gain so much life force that I can say in it 70% of a boss fight. The heal is only a 25s cooldown and you get spectral armor at 50% health. If I die its my fault.)
MAIN SKILLS
Reaper’s Touch hits for an avg of 2.3k three times, which equals 6.9K
Ghastly Claws max dmg 11K (that I have done), avg is 7-8K.
Dagger auto atk 2.2k + 2.2k + 2k + 3.6K = 10K dps
Well of Suffering avg 12K in 6 secs
Deathly Claws (Lich Form Auto atk) avg 5.2K every 0.75s for 20s = 26 shots. 135K in 20s. (Note: in Lich Form my pwr is 4,998 and my crit chance is 89%.)
DEATH SHROUD SKILLS (my crit chance in DS is 97% because of deathly perceptions)
Life Blast (3.5K -10K) Hits harder with every blast because it puts 2 stack of vuln on a target and 1 stack of might on myself. I easily get 10 stacks of might which is 350 pwr. I typically wait in a 1v1 to use this when the opponent is under 50% health and all cooldowns are blown. 20% more dmg when target is under 50% health. Easy kill. It hits 3-5K on other players and 6-10K on bosses. Oh it pierces as well so position yourself right.
Dark Path- used in a 1v1 situation for chill
Doom- 1v1 heaven. Doom then Life Blast in a 1v1. Easily get 2 Life Blasts off for 6-8K total on an opponent. (I wish that i could have Terror here but that is the definition of OP and everyone know that Necros & Engis are not allowed to be OP.)
Life Transfer- avg 4.5K AOE Amazing in groups. I also have Transfusion which heals allies. Great for dungeons, WvW or tPvP.
Tainted Shackles- 2.8K AOE and torment. Use this then Life Transfer and do about 8K AOE dmg in 4 secs.

Unholy Feast 3k, WoS 12k, Tainted Shackles 2.8K, Life Transfer 4.5K = 22.3K AOE dmg

I wanted to create a discussion of Deathly Perceptions. I think it is way better than 3s of stability. I personally like this build better than condi builds. It is instant gratification.
yea i dont like underwater either. The whole feel of it isnt natural. The Z axis throws everyone off.
Necros are the slowest class. My friends are Eles and they laugh at me.
commanding map chat is difficult in wvwvw with this supression system.
So we “Necros” have weak 2-3 options when downed and 1/3 less health.

GUILD FOCUS
PVE, anything, all the time. When we do decide to WvW, we roam 85% of the time and go after our own objectives. We are excellent at tPvP, but we don’t do it that often.
REQUIREMENTS
Be Active and Rep the Guild 50% of the time. Don’t be a Jerk. Ideally have a headset and use RaidCall.
HISTORY
We created this guild, we created it on launch for the few of us that know each other in real life. For the past 6 months we have been apart of the guild Cryptic Omen. We left that guild last night because they shifted from a PvX guild to a WvW guild.
GUILD COMPOSITION
Ideally we want to have 20-40 good players that are on a few nights a week. It doesn’t matter what class you play as long as you play it well.
Axe/Focus
30/30/0/0/10 or 30/20/10/0/10
Lich Form
That is straight dmg without using conditions.
I agree with lowering the cast time. I also agree with making the cooldown a few seconds longer if there is a lower cast time.
I would also like Anet consider making a trait for epidemic to be unblockable like marks. I believe this would keep balance.
1) Judge’s Intervention
The damage equation is your opponents (Attack x skill damage) divided by your defense rating. This can be rearranged to (Opponent’s Att divided by Your Def) x opponent’s skill dmg.
Your opponents att over your def is basically a multiplier.
3300 att divided by 2200 def is a 1.5 multiplier. You will be giving them 50% more dmg.
3300 att divided by 4000 def is a 0.825 multiplier. You will reduce their dmg by 17.5%
TLDR: Armor does not keep you eternally safe. It just mitigates bonehead mistakes. Damage should always out do Defense.
I know this is a two month old post but…
I would like a few non-combat mods and a few combat stat gatherers. I would like to be able to record a fight and see what skill was done at what time, how much damage it did or if it missed. I know you can review the numbers in the combat log, but i want something more detailed and in a nice interface.
UI addons i dont care about.
Trading post alerts would be nice.
A top DPS meter would be good. It doesn’t help you fight better. It lets you know who is pulling their weight. If you want to make this a competitive esport well here is your answer.
I would like to see Anet create an addon forum on the root forum page. Here people would be able to post ideas for addons, but instead of third parties creating addons Anet would make what they see fit an in-game feature.

I think the cast times are fine. They are annoying, but they need to be there. It is a “Caster” class.
I do agree though that since it is a caster class it should have a wider range of abilities that can protect you during a cast and make sure you will kill your target effectively.
Use CCs against thieves. Chill, stun, immobilize, and knockdown abilities make it so a thief cant do much.
The Jagged horror keeps you in combat during pvp. I tested it last night.
That one bug alone is not enough to make me not use it though. I totally agree with it being a meet shield with a little dps. It saved me a few times.
Wells are the top dps. I mix wells and conditions for max dps. Oh and any idiot that cant keep enemies in a well should not be playing a necro.
I also sPvP with spectral grasp. It definitely does not work on different elevations. I just removed that ability and started browsing to see if other people are having the same issue.
This will be a good ability once it is fixed. I also like the perma chill/wells build.
There’s a problem with this. 1v1 in this game is not balanced at all. Two builds will rise above all others: Mesmer condi build, and d/d ele. These are the two best 1v1 builds in the game, and most builds don’t even come close to killing them.
I beg your pudden? I see your Mesmer and Ele and raise you by my guardian and necro.

Im interested. I have a DPS Guardian and a DPS Necro.
I use the sword/torch combo in PvP. It is the most offensive setup you can achieve with the Guardian. I combine that combo with burning skills. It is ridiculous how much dps I put out. I use a hammer for my offhand. The hammer has the best CCs by far.
I used the GS for a while. It doesn’t have the range that I am looking for.
For PvE and WvW, I use scepter and torch. I hate the scepter, but it has 1200 range.
TLDR: Torch is the highest amount of DPS that you can get on a Guardian. Use it.
I have a build, but I don’t want you to have it. :P
I like the idea of a Well Elite skill. Bravo. Although I think my wells build is slightly OP. If I got my hands on a Well Elite, I would be unstoppable
