Limit the way transfers and WvW interact.

When a transfer occurs, if the destination server is ranked higher – the player remains in the queue for their prior server for a designated time period.

This grace period could be 1 month, 2 months or an entire season as an example.

It’s not that you don’t belong in silver, its DB doesn’t belong there. You guys are fairly even with us (CD) and i can safely say they DB have massive coverage during US prime time and Oceanic Prime time.

We play Oceanic time and ive seen zergs of well over 40 on every BL and EB from them. These kitteners are locust …

Our team gave up with defense because of the exact reasons you state. We decided to take it to DBBL over the last few days. Flipping camps and building mass golems with their supply. Does this suck? Yes it does … but we arnt going to waste our time protecting paper gates ..

That being said, a large portion of CD loves defending our BL – so it works out well.

Ascended items harder to make than Legendary?

This is really no contest for time investment.

If you aren’t buying gold, or buying gems and then converting to gold – the legendary takes a lot longer to make, it isn’t remotely close from a time investment perspective. Even just farming then gold to buy it off the TP would take a lot longer.

Are we even sure its actually a dungeon? I see nothing that says it is … other than its been stated there is an “instanced” portion. It could be made for the solo player …. who really knows.

It’s fun, and its brought a lot of people back to WvW (me as an example). But i cant really see that there is anything to brag about regarding the position your server places.

Nor do i think the rewards for the meta should be any different from server to server, based on said position.

Population and timezone imbalance really makes half of these match-ups a non-contest and until that is partially sorted, there isn’t any real way to gauge how good any of the servers really are (minus a few).

At the end of the day, this really has the potential to sour the wvw experience and cause massive elitism.

Honestly the transfer fees aren’t even that bad on most servers. If you like to WvW, pick a competitive silver league server that isn’t number one and isn’t last place. That way, you can get competitive fights and not a very long queue. Join us on Yak’s! We just need a bit more coverage and we’ll be able to give the top Silver leaguers a run for their money.

Hi Everyone,

i thought i’d consolidate all of the current concerns / feedback in relation to the market skins into one thread.

Feel free to add anything below and ill edit the OP.

Functionality:

  • Skins are a single purchase, single use. Proposed solution is to migrate to the same model as the Zenith Skins
  • Skins added 10/29/13 – Are they permanent?
  • Individual pieces from Skin sets should be able to be purchased on a stand alone basis

Subjectivity / Aesthetics:

  • Disparity between female head armor and male head armor (heavy)
  • Female Armor “coverage” in general. From time to time, im sure some of our female characters may like to have a completed armor set, and not massive portions missing

No doubt there will be more, happy to keep this updated if people get on board. I’m passionate about the skins and i personal feel they could be doing a lot more than they currently are (i for one would spend a lot more money!)

Bit of feedback though, this temple has been closed since the release of the latest patch. This is easily the single most irritating thing about this game.

Rarely does this temple open, how the hell am i meant to buy shards …. talk about frustrating and demotivating!!

This is actually stupidly easy and can be done in 30 seconds, maybe you need to stop attacking? Other professions have issues with attacks bouncing etc, see them complaining?

Send 3 in and round all of the slugs up, kite them to the back gate. As this is occurring the remaining 2 just get the oozes and start to kite through the fire. Once the kiter’s are in range to assist, aoe the hell out of the slugs.

Exactly this. We need to remember that the game as already set a standard for world events and associated difficulty. Now im all for harder content, and sure, the world bosses should be buffed some. But the coordination required for this goes beyond “pugging”.

If they want to go down this path, great. Just put it as a guild challenge in an instance. Let’s call them “raids” ….

If by standard you mean, mind numbingly boring zerg fest where you can literally just stand there and finish the job with almost no liability or risk? If anything, that’s a standard that should be eliminated.

Or perhaps, just perhaps, the number of people that actually like this kind of content is that small?

Then don’t do it. Nobody’s holding a gun to their head. The fact people are complaining about being constantly put into Overflow would seem to contradict that argument though.

Boring for some, great for others. You need to remember this is a highly subjective issue.

I even acknowledged that the bosses could be buffed, but there are limits.

I’m not too sure how you misinterpreted what i said, but this isn’t about me being lazy and not wanting there to be challenges (im all for it). This is purely too much for uncoordinated groups and servers. This isn’t really in the spirit of the game historically, and i don’t think that going down this path is the right direction.

I know people want a challenge, and i think they should get it. World bosses are NOT where is should be though. These are public events, and whilst some strategy should be employed, it shouldn’t be required by over 100 players dancing a well choreographed dance routine. It might be hard to believe, but some of us truly don’t have the time. Now you can argue that i don’t need to do the content, and sure you are probably right. But think about it for a second, why shouldnt i be able to do the content, its a world boss, not an instanced raid encounter.

Call a spade a spade …. make it hard when its a guild challenge or an instance. Let us casual noobs have the open world stuff too …

Realistically, this is ANET rehashing old content because of 2 reasons – firstly the original iteration was bad, and secondly its much easier for them to “fix” existing content and label it new (as opposed to developing new things).

Tequatl is a good case study for when player expectations don’t match reality. This camp seems to have been expecting the same difficulty, but with more “coolness” attached to it. I honestly can’t give much more feedback than that because having done things like raids and such for the better part of a decade, the fun is in the challenge and that feeling you get the first time you kill it. When you feel like you’ve actually accomplished something.

Clearly it is doable, as more and more servers have got the job done as time progresses. The only obstacle to making headway is the stubbornness of players who can’t differentiate between a challenge and a nuisance.

I have raided in very good guilds in both WoW and swtor. I have also managed to finish this event 3 times now. Yet I can easily pinpoint and acknowledge glaring problems without making the mistake of thinking that every person struggling with this content is afraid of a challenge and should really “l2p”.

That’s really not the issue here. The reason I’m voicing my opinion so loudly is because, eventhough I already got it, I feel rather bad for all those people constantly stuck in overflows or who have to do the event with atleast 30-40 people being idle. There is no raidcheck here unless you have a coordinated group who are all on TS, which is only the case on the fullest, most organized servers.

Accessibility of Content

There has been a lot of discussion going on around the difficulty of the new TEQ encounter, and regardless of which side you sit it’s hard to argue that there isn’t a massive flaw in this new model.

The main issue as I see it is accessibility. As it stands, a lot of people are attempting this new encounter (which is great), but how long will it last? How accessible will this boss be in 1 week, or even a month? We really need to take into consideration the long term, and in its current iteration Teq won’t see more than a week or so of activity, people will just stop showing up. This issue is also compounded on low pop servers, people who hit the overflow or for those who play outside of peak hours.

This game has historically been built around its accessibility of content, and as a casual gamer this is a refreshing change for an MMO. Now before you go all Mr. Burns on me and release the hounds, I’m not saying that difficult content shouldn’t exist, it undoubtable should. But to throw new encounters in what has historically been casual / accessible content (open world events) just makes no sense. This type of event should be a guild challenge.

I want this game to last, and I want as many people to be catered for, but this patch has added something that is only acting as a point of contention.

I like that ANET are trying new things, but this particular living world event just doesn’t work in my opinion.

Not even half a day old and some people already whine.
Believe it or not, but there are games where you’re not expected to beat the content on the very first try.

Believe it or not, but I do own those kind of games. They don’t depend on 80 randoms though from which 6 can make sure that you fail.

Exactly this. These kind of challenges should be isolated to guild groups. I like a small challenge, not the Everest of challenges.

Whats going to happen when everyone gets over this? Wheres poor teq left then, and where are the people who still want to down it? Yeh, up kitten creek.

Think about it, whats going to happen when the fun wears off? This will never be downed…. and that’s just silly.

If they wanna make things hard, make it instanced and let guilds / hardcore players have that. From a solo players perspective, this is just silly and a waste of my time.

Empyreal Fragments are a nightmare to get right now. It’s going to take me weeks to get enough and you want to time gate them!?!??!

I do think bloodstone dust needs to be toned down though. I have 20 stacks of the stuff already and that’s after making 50 bricks… I can’t even sell it to a vendor, i’ve taken to just deleting stacks at this point since I don’t want to spend more shards making it.

I thought this, until i got back into wvw. I basically do world bosses for an hour, then WVW for an hour. I accumulate roughly 100 of each a day (2 hours play max). This gives me plenty of time to craft my gated ecto xmutes and have all the mats ready to go. Crafting my first dagger when i get home

I don’t really see this as a grind, its people wanting the gear ASAP that create the grind. Just playing the game, you will have the required mats to craft this stuff in no time at all. Furthermore, you might even get lucky and have an item drop for you …..

Put it this way, from all the mats I’ve accumulated over the course of playing (i average about 2 hours a night roughly 5 days a week), i will have my first Ascended weapon when i get home from work tonight. None of this was a grind for me, i didn’t rush …. i simply played. If you don’t have a craft that can make the items, that’s OK … like i said above, one MAY drop for you.

Furthermore, lets not pretend that obtaining exotics without crafting them doesn’t require at least some type of grind. If anything, whats missing is the ability to purchase Exotic weapons with Karma / Badges / Whatever …..

I honestly just think there is a few people around here that a slightly kitten ed that they cant just buy some gems, trade it for gold and buy these items from the market. the BOA materials is whats causing it.

Here’s some advice – put it to the back of your mind, play the game and eventually you will have whatever you desire. There seems to be enough time between patches that introduce gear to easily accumulate the items …..

I’ve been running the below build with my thief since day 1 pretty much. Works for both sPvP and PVE (i swap the basilisk out for the later) ….

Let me say, i feel like a lawnmower just bleeding things down! At 9 – 12 stacks of the bleed (which goes up really quickly) you see the healthbars literally melting …

It generally goes like this -

1. Apply basilisk
2. Stack bleeds as much as possible during the stun
3. Stealth
4. Blind
5. Pop skale
6. More DB + Skale
7. Dodge / roll for caltraps if they are chasing or dancing dagger if they are running
7. Swap to pistol for kite (as torment is now up also)

At this point the target is either in bad shape and trying to run, or is hurting and trying to chase. Either way, they have torment up and are either caltraped or dancing dagger

I have put large sums of time into many other MMO’s, and I’ve gotta say after recently coming back to this game i have a new found respect.

I’m enjoying the game, for the gameplay and not the grind. This is the first time in years i’m excited to play a game every time i login!
