Hey all,
I see a lot of questions about what’s coming, and sadly, I can’t answer those because I’m really not sure of the answers. We’ll put out a blog post and a release page that will have a lot of info about the event. That will be coming up in a couple of weeks.
Like you I have a few store items and a few drops that I’d like to see return, so I’ll be looking for that info, too! 
We have temporarily disabled character creation while we address a serious issue. We are sorry for the inconvenience and will restore the character creation functionality as soon as we are able to do so.
It’s my favorite holiday! I decorate my house to the rafters, and I love, LOVE the event in Tyria. I could tell y’all sappy stories about my first Halloween in Lion’s Arch, but suffice to say that I’m really looking forward to it.

We know that some of you may have pondered a bit about Halloween this year, wondering if we were brewing up anything in relation to a celebration. Fear not! Our haunty, headless hero and his band of creepy cohorts will be stopping by Lion’s Arch, to give plenty of chills and thrills (and potential rewards) to new players and old.
Now, you may have noticed that some Halloween-ish items already are appearing in the In-Game Store. You should know that more items that will be rolling out over the next few weeks, and they will include several popular items of the past and a couple of splendiferous somethings that are brand new this year!
Make no bones about it, this will be a festival sure to please. Keep your eye on our website for more information in a few weeks. Then, get ready to costume up and join in the spirit of the occasion!

It’s totally feasible to have an aura trait, as they’re fairly generic and supported throughout multiple lines (you have at least one application with every weapon set). Being that auras are fairly bountiful for the Tempest, it would likely be more beneficial to have something without an ICD (or really low) so that you’re not running into a wall by just using the tools you’ve got. Stability’s already an option in the master line, so we probably wouldn’t want to have two of the same applications in the same slot.
I’ve got to run for now, but wanted to stop by and talk traits.

I was also placed in stronghold once when queuing unranked, even though I only had conquest ticked on.
This bug shoooould be fixed for the next beta weekend. Anytime a substitute player was found during the match-ready process, the mode preferences were getting cleared.

These are all great ideas. Earthen Proxy and Latent Stamina are two traits that need a bit more. It’s a possibility that E.P. could be merged with H.C.. I’ve seen quite a few mentions of that so far and it’s something that we’ve talked about a bit internally. If that were the case, we would need another Master slot trait.
One way that E.P. will probably change is that it will only affect the elementalist, because it’s just way too difficult to tell if someone is being affected by your protection, or someone else’s… so it would be the case that 100% of protection applied to you would reduce 40% damage.
It’s possible to add a ‘no crit’ line to H.C., but it would start to be crowded for the master slot and might overlap too much (and be out of theme) when compared with Stone Heart.
With that being said, what sort of support/boon trait would you like to see it replaced with? Keeping in mind the roles of Tempestuous Aria (Shout ally DPS-add/Enemy weakness trait) and Harmonious Conduit (DPS/anti-control trait), is there something that you’d imagine would fit AoE support in a generic way.
H.C. was intended to be a generic anti-dps option (with ties to the spec’s stengths), so keeping it in that vein would be something we’d want to shoot for.

My guild does missions every Saturday right after reset – are you saying we shouldn’t bother this Saturday?
Pretty sure that’s accurate, because the reset will happen a week from tomorrow and not this coming Saturday.
In order to accommodate development and hosting of Guild Wars 2 raids, we will be changing the time that guild mission resets take place each week. Starting Monday, October 5, 2015, guild mission resets will take place at 12:30 AM Pacific time each Monday.
Note: In order to make this adjustment there will be no reset on Saturday evening, October 3. Instead, that week’s guild mission period will be extended slightly to allow for this update. Subsequently, guild mission resets will occur each Monday morning, at 12:30 AM Pacific time.
This was fixed this morning.
Guild teams have a unique name within the guild, and will be displayed alongside the main guild name and emblem.
APIs will be only providing read actions for the foreseeable future.
Hello, really enjoying using the API.
I was tapping into the inventory/bank but some people are getting 404 errors. Those who were have purchased additional bank slots. Could there be an issue or is it just my programming error?Could I be passing too many ID’s at once?
Dunno. Could you PM me the full request URL (including the API key) that’s returning the error?
Will the int->str change be going into any of the other API endpoints (pvp, item, etc)?
No, it’s only for WvW objectives (and even then, only for the v2 for now — the v1 stuff won’t change without a good deal of notice).
In the old system, the borderlands maps were literal copy-pastes of the red borderlands. For the new borderlands maps, we added support for a programmatic copy-paste that uses almost all of the same data (so same map details, objectives, etc) but with map-specific overrides. So all of the same keep on each of the borderlands would have different metadata (e.g., different name) but same objective id because the name was just overridden. To work around this, I made the objective ids be the concatenation of the map id and objective id just to make them unique.
This change is pretty WvW-specific, so no other endpoints need to change.
So is there any clarification on how it will be?
I don’t know how recipes/discovery/etc will work in HoT. All I know is that there’s no way to determine which maps an item can be acquired on (without an insane amount of work, at least).
Nevermind, Stronghold was still in ranked arena, but shouldn’t have been.
There are two check boxes to choose whether you want to play on stronghold or conquest under the Unranked/Ranked buttons.

It’s up there with “make render.guildwars2.com output character portraits” and … some other monumental task that I can’t recall at the moment. But yeah, I’d really like to replace/supplement MumbleLink with a local websocket for a large number of reasons.
RE: squad endpoints. Supply is stored in the character blobs which the API can only access with 5-minute granularity — so it’s almost never going to be up-to-date. This constraint is so that the API can’t affect any other game system performance-wise (so it’ll probably never be lifted). Because of that, it’s unlikely that we’ll be able to have a v2 endpoint that’ll match your use-case.

Can we get an idea of the data coming to the pvp api in the coming months? I’m not looking for a date, more so an idea of what will/will not be added long term. The info well help drive the design of my website.
Specifically things like:
Account names for all players
Per player score
The detailed stats tab
Builds
League info
Ideally I’d like all of those things in (and more), but I can’t really commit to features or a timeline. Especially when it’s the competitive team doing all the backend work for me on those parts

Templates are something we would love to do. We have talked about this quite a bit, and with the frequency we’re seeing raid builds get tweaked we agree this would be a huge help.

If you caught our coverage of TwitchCon, which wrapped up yesterday (9/26/2015), you may already be aware of this, but just to share with the whole creative community:
I’m going to be hosting a new show on our Twitch stream along with our PR Manager Elizabeth Stewart. The show is called Community Showcase Live. We debuted the show yesterday, and it was a ton of fun to show off the creations of our amazing community. Future programs will feature as much art and other fan creations as we can stuff into each episode!
The sky’s the limit, really. The inaugural show had drawings, paintings, sculptures, digital art, figures, recreations of in-game items, cosplay, videos, and even baked goods. 
If you’d like to be considered for a future episode, please add your art to this forums or to our Tumblr page. If you’re doing the latter (Tumblr) please be sure to use the hashtag: “GW2 Fan Submission.” That tag gives us permission to share the art on our show. Posting here does not require anything special — post and you’re good.
Placing your art on both sites is perfectly fine; we’ll be looking for art to include on the show in both places. The forums automatically give us permission to display your work. Just be sure that on the Tumblr you use that all-important tag so we have the optiont to share your work when it comes in that way.

Hey all.
I just returned from San Francisco and am going to crash hard from the busy weekend at Twitch Con very soon, but first I wanted to clarify something:
During the skill balance stream on Friday we weren’t able to go into depth or even talk about the reasons and expected results for changes we did reach due to time constraints[sub]1[/sub]. Because the June 23rd patch was mentioned during the stream many people seem to expect a patch of that size and magnitude.
This coming patch is NOT that big.
Tuesday’s patch will have those changes we discussed in the livestream, some bugfixes, and more, but it is a step in the right direction. It is not the end-all.
There shall be more.

Please direct your inquiries about refunds to the Customer Support Team. As others have pointed out in this thread, no player can answer the question of what you’re entitled to. Creating threads with intentionally, aggressively incendiary subject lines (which I have modified here to something neutral) isn’t appropriate, when no one here knows your specific situation nor the refunds to which you may or may not be entitled.

RR with Bezerker could become interesting. The 130% buff is a bit vague (duration? healing? both?).
Just the healing.
What about moa form?
Moa specifically will still destroy them. When we decided on these changes we felt that the behavior of Moa vs pets was one that needed more discussion. We didn’t feel comfortable changing this behavior for this patch as it affects more classes than just necromancer.
Lich and Plague form was more of a clear cut issue of “hey, let’s not punish minion masters for pressing their elite”.
Do they mean the focus now stacks swiftness?
Not quite. I think they mean that it’ll always set your Swiftness to exactly 12s?
It means that Temporal Curtain will always apply it’s full swiftness duration (12s) the first time you pass through it. Previously if you had swiftness from another source it would not apply. There are a few other details but I’ll leave those until Tuesday.
We keep our minions when transformed!!!
I want to quickly clarify something about this note. The change is that specifically Plague form and Lich form will not destroy your minions. We can’t do this universally for all transforms because it can cause problems with the balance of events or story steps that transform you.

Druid is more about burst healing in key moments as it takes a while to build up astral force to enter celestial avatar, Ventari is more about sustain healing.
AFAIK there’s no way to distinguish between core and HoT items and recipes.
Additionally, we don’t have an index to see which items have been unlocked/discovered by which account. It’s something we could technically track (retroactively, even) but would be a lot of effort/time (probably a week to go through all of the existing logs) for little payoff.
