I work on systems, combat, skills, and balance.
I’m guessing they might be able to be slotted into any Legend, which could be pretty convenient to replace some of the less useful Legend skills…
The problem is that they are balanced around having 1 skill bar and not 2 for the right half of your bar. They are also not made with energy in mind and would need to be changed to work with revenant, but would muddy the purity of each legends skill set playstyle. I thought I had mentioned it before on one of the initial streams, but racial skills won’t be usable on revenant.
I work on systems, combat, skills, and balance.
Tried it out and looks awesome. It won’t be out in time for the next beta weekend, but know that it’ll be coming.
/bump
I’m kinda curious if this is still in development ‘cause it’d be a cool feature to have. If it isn’t, I won’t mind ’cause I know you guys have lots of balancing work for the revenant to do, especially after BWE2, and you are doing a great job at that.
roy stated somewhere else that next BWE there are coming many tweaks to the skills, a missing hand glow on ventari and the dodge animation ;-)
2-3 weeks from now i guess!
Yup! We’ll be making posts soon™ talking about changes that came out of BWE2 feedback and internal testing for all the elite specializations in the last beta. This will include the dodge FX on revenant which you’ll get to see in BWE3.
I work on systems, combat, skills, and balance.
Since we have a solution to your question, I’ll close the thread.

The only way to get a player’s current position is the Mumble Link API.
Pretty much this.
Due to our architecture, the client’s state (currently only available via Mumble link) is the only way to get high-precision positional data. We might at some point expose low-precision data through the API, but a 10-second resolution is the best that we can do over the network.
10 seconds should be more than enough I should think.
Ehhhh depends on what you’re doing. You can get an idea of that resolution by watching someone’s party blip when they’re in another map — it’s pretty coarse data. I’m honestly can’t come up with many use-cases for it.
There’s gonna be some new /v2/wvw endpoints to support new features and fix outstanding issues. Will be working on them this week, check the github issue tracker for details.
Hoping to release them late this month or early next, we’ll see what catches fire.
It would be really interesting tracking roster compositions for every game (which profession people used, especially for ranked/unranked) and the stats pvp team lately added in the game (like total damage done etc.) that we can hardly analyze at the end of the match.
In addition to this, it would be super cool, if the api delivers the team- and enemy-team composition (only the professions, not the character names/id’s).
We’ll add those in at some point; it’s probably gonna be a month or two from now though ;_;
This is a resold account that also has a fraudulent HoT applicaion. This account won’t be unbanned or returned to the original owner.
I’ve gone ahead and looked into this myself and there isn’t really much to say here. We screwed up. An entirely embarassing situation here, as one of our newer GMs made the mistake of flagging your girlfriend as cheating when in reality she was using Omnomberry Ghost.
Just trying to think of words here to justify this one escape me. Thankfully, when these bans happen we have something to fall back to in order to make sure there wasn’t a mistake…and well…we made a mistake.
Hopefully we have rectified the situation at least a little bit, but I just wanted to stop by here and offer my apology.
Sorry.
But how about this question: Will Mordrem Blooms be used in the future, or should we use them all before the vendors disappear?
As explained here — https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Mordrem-Invasion-Update-11-September-12-30-PM/5487900 -- I do not know the answer to that yet, but have asked.

….If you earned blooms during that period but did not receive them or received fewer than the intended amount, they will be sent to you via in-game mail. NPCs will remain in place — particularly in the Priory.
I am curious if those affected by this (like myself) need to submit a ticket for it, or to simply wait?
Valid question, thanks for asking: I’ve seen the spreadsheets for distributions passing by in an e-mail. At this time I would say that you do not need to submit a ticket to receive rewards that you earned but did not receive during the period when the bug was active. Participation and missing rewards were recorded in game data, and distributions will be made based on that data.

I’m going to stick this post, but I need a little help from the community: If you posted a build that, through game updates, becomes less effective or completely obsolete, could you please update your own post in the thread to update about that? In that way, the sticky thread is relevant, and people don’t see a build on page 2 that, on page 5, is replaced or recognized as no longer worthwhile.
Thanks!

I see a couple of valid questions:
- Will blooms be useful in the future?
- Will the items currently on offer be returning?
I will ask about those tomorrow — it’s the weekend here in Bellevue — and will answer as soon as I know more. I’m sorry that I cannot give that information today, but I truly do not know the answers to those two questions.
A note, please: The moderators continue to report comments to me with questions about their value. I think I covered this, but as a reminder: Someone commenting “I don’t like this” or “I did it and I quit” or “I had lag and it’s your fault” isn’t helpful. Why? Not because that person is being “negative” or because we’re in denial about what they believe is a network issue, but because they are not offering any points of action, any suggestions, anything that helps us with the objective of this thread.
Commenting "Rewards would be improved if you [offered this] or “I’d like to see this event again if you [did that]” is the sort of info we’d very much like to see. Why? Because we want constructive ideas that help us make future events that are fun, meaningful, rewarding, and involving.
There are many, many helpful ideas in this thread, both large and small, new and old. Thank you to those who are contributing in a constructive way.

What’s the point of offering specific suggestions as a way to improve this event when there are no plans to change it or repeat it?
For upcoming events maybe – and I hope there will be more invasion events.
Yes, Jana, correct. We’re actively reading and participating in this thread to let players know we understand they have concerns about the event, to gather as much consensus about the concerns as possible, and to use that information to plan future events.
It’s interesting to read the feedback as whole. While some things leap out as a general piece of feedback that seems very broadly felt — and it’s really good for us to know this info — others seem very individual.
Lag or disconnects, for instance, have been tracked and reviewed by the network team, and no pattern has yet been found. Someone at one location may have perfect ping, and someone else in the house next door may have lag. The team is investigating each ticket but please note that forum posts don’t help, so please submit a ticket. The specific instances I’ve read about today in network team e-mails point to the customer’s ISP. (This is data from a traceroute, which is solid, impartial data.) Now, that’s not to say that every instance is a result of ISP issues, but again, the lag and the event do not seem connected and a ticket is the only way for us to figure it out, or help you figure it out.
Back to the broader topic: We’ll continue to read the constructive posts and to use your suggestions to the benefit of future event planning.

Hello,
I asked the head of the GW2 Design Team about whether we would be making changes and rerunning it, extending it, or repeating it as it currently is designed. At this time, we are not going to extend the event, nor do we have plans at this time to repeat it, either amended or in its current form.
The Mordrem Invasion event will run through its allotted time. It ends at 9:00 AM tomorrow, Monday. As explained in my earlier thread, no changes will be made to the event beyond the fixes that were made on Thursday and, of course, the distribution of earned rewards for those who were impacted by that bug. (The bug ran from 9:00 AM until about 4:00 PM Pacific time. If you earned blooms during that period but did not receive them or received fewer than the intended amount, they will be sent to you via in-game mail. NPCs will remain in place — particularly in the Priory.
I hope this info is helpful to you. And thanks to those of you who provided constructive suggestions about the event — your thoughts are very appreciated. What’s constructive: “Rewards might be [this]” or “I like the rewards in [that] and suggest you adopt that system for this sort of event.” What’s not constructive: “Rewards are bad” (with absolutely no suggestions for how they might be improved).
I think you guys get it, and I understand that some of you are pretty “hot under the collar” about the event. But please try to give us ideas we can work with — that’s to everyone’s benefit.

I mean, ones that they will respond to, like a conversation or something – specifically about profession mechanics.
The developers read the forums every day. And they start or participate in profession-specific threads on a regular basis. If that is your interest, go to the forum for the profession you’d like to discuss and post in a thread where you see the red “ArenaNet logo.”
But…
A few developers/designers mentioned to me on Friday that they will be posting profession-specific threads very soon, perhaps as soon as tomorrow. These will be an “after BWE #2” view. So you may want to hold your feedback for that thread, because it’s more relevant to share feedback after the Beta Weekend Events and after you see what the devs have in mind for the future based on beta player’s input and their own observations.

Hello,
I asked the head of the GW2 Design Team about whether we would be making changes and rerunning it, extending it, or repeating it as it currently is designed. At this time, we are not going to extend the event, nor do we have plans at this time to repeat it.
A couple of you wondered about our mention of an afternoon event on Friday. That event was not going to involve any changes to the event; it was simply a dev/player gameplay session. We will be scheduling what I call IGEs (In-Game Events) in the future, but it wasn’t possible to hold one on Friday. We regret any inconvenience that you may have experienced through the cancellation of that session.
The Mordrem Invasion event will run through its allotted time. It ends at 9:00 AM tomorrow, Monday. As explained in my earlier thread, no changes will be made to the event beyond the fixes that were made on Thursday. As promised we will distribute earned rewards for those who were impacted by that bug within the next several days. The bug ran from 9:00 AM until about 4:00 PM Pacific time. If you earned blooms during that period but did not receive them or received fewer than the intended amount, they will be sent to you via in-game mail. NPCs will remain in place — particularly in the Priory — so that you can exchange your blooms.

I rarely come here to post or reply but I just want the devs to know how important it is for us players to not be punished in any way by having a disconnect in the middle of a play session, more importantly if we are going to lose any progress we have made in a said event. If there was a way to “save” that progress for a few minutes so we have the time to log back in, it would be great, and yes I know we can do the next event in 30 minutes but for some 30 min are alot and dont have time for more.
We completely agree with you. The team will be working on a way to address this. I don’t know if progress would be saved, that’s a question for a designer or programmer. However, at the least, we don’t want someone to lose their rewards!
Past week has been full of lag/disconnects and I’ve lost the stacking buff TWICE now over the past 2 days that I have free time after work inevitably resulting in getting zero reward. Nothing. Absolute zilch.
This is wrong.
There should be a system/feature in place that saves your stack of buffs for at least 2 minutes or so in order to reconnect.
As much as I really want to work for a particular reward, it is simply impossible due to the constant lagging/disconnects.

We need to see Customer Support tickets for these incidents. Last night and again today, I read through an extensive e-mail thread and the issues were being caused by a variety of things, nearly always outside our control.
Here are some assessments from our Technical Support Team:
- I performed traceroutes from the Dallas datacenter to the public IP address and started encountering high response and packet loss once the traffic entered the IP ranges owned by [ISP name] Argentina.
- A traceroute from Dallas to this IP address begins to encounter problems within [ISP name] Malaysia’s network.
Clearly, not everyone having issues is located in Malaysia or Argentina, but when you submit a ticket and provide the requested data, you can see that our team will investigate the issue and will be able to tell you some possible steps to resolve it. (In the cases above, I imagine the player will be given the suggestion to contact his/her ISP, because that’s where the problem lies, but I leave advice-giving to the Technical folks.)
Sadly, I’ve noticed that with tickets of this sort, the player writes, the team responds and asks for information, and the thread is not answered by the player. But we really want to help you! So taking a couple of minutes to send the requested file would be to your benefit, for sure.
Thank you for providing this information and for following up on the requests from the team that enable them to help you.

We’ll be covering a lot more info on guild halls and guilds in detail before launch, including some stuff details we haven’t announced yet about guild halls.
It’s also very likely we’re going to end up with more like 60-70 levels of guild halls in total rather than the 40 we originally announced due to all the hard work of the guild team.

Yup, sounds like applying a fraudulent key on the account. We can’t help unless you give us a ticket #.
My guess is that the key was purchased fraudulently, re-sold, applied to an account, that person didn’t know about the 72 hour delay on ultimate edition gems, put in a ticket and by that time we identified the fraud and closed the account.
I understand trying to save some money, but there is a reason these bad sites are listing for such a low price.
My question is this: I have noticed since the streaming client was launched that my data usage has gone up considerably. This is a problem for me, since I have a capped data connection.
You say that I can avoid being impacted by streaming if I fully patch in the launcher – however I do this by default and I’m still noticing a significant increase in the game’s data usage since the streaming was implemented.
What can I do to fix this problem? It’s getting to the point where if I play more than 30min of gw2 a day I risk running out of cap before the end of the month.
If you’re sure you are fully patching, it is likely unrelated to streaming client itself.
A given area will naturally consumer more data with an increase in the number of moving objects, such as players, mobs, etc. I’m not sure if this will help, but try lowering various settings such as Character Model Limit, and switching Standard Enemy Models to enabled.
The only other thing I can recommend that will most likely decrease the amount of data used is to stick to lower population areas. It kinda sucks, I know, but at least it’d use less data.
Best of luck.
Thanks to all of you who are posting solid, substantial feedback or even just a few thoughts on the subject. The thing I particularly like is that you’re sharing constructive ideas and suggestions that the team can use in the future to offer improved events.
Thanks, and please continue to share if you have other ideas!

We are aware of an issue where if you disconnect during the event you will not be able to rejoin. If you experience this, you will be able to participate in the events that follow the one from which you disconnected. For instance, if you were disconnected during the Kessex Hills incursion, you’ll be able to get into the next stage when it takes place in Diessa Plateau.
Sorry but…so what? Who cares? There’s no carry over from one map to the next. It’s like saying “well, if you’re doing world bosses and you get DC’d you can always go and do the next world boss.” Yes, of course you can, but how would that answer an issue of consistently not getting rewards for content completed?
Happy to explain: We got questions about this, because the events come in a wave of threes over a four-hour period. So someone who disconnected in the first of the three “waves” of the four-hour event asked if they needed to wait for the entire cycle to begin again or if they could go to the next point of incursion. The answer is, they can do 2 of 3 or 1 of 3, and are not required to do all 3 of 3 to get rewards. I hope that explains it a bit more clearly.

Could you clarify as im now confused – you said previously that nothing could now ben done to improve the event – but you say Dev’s are working on improvements? does this mean the event will come back soon?
I’m sorry if my answer wasn’t clear. The devs are looking into a way to prevent people from losing rewards when they disconnect in the middle of an event. It is not possible to make changes to this event, but the information gained through player reports will help us address problems in the game and prevent them in the future.

Is it you can’t or you won’t?

We have been tracking player response and recognize that this event has not gone as intended. We’re at a point where we can’t change anything more about this event for this weekend without risk to the greater portion of the game. nope. Ascalonian Protector Legguards DEFINITELY missing from wardrobe, despite dungeoneer.
I am specifically looking at the locked/unlocked skins from my bank
Do you know an approximate timeframe of when you unlocked that skin?
Do we have an ETA on this? And will the GW2 wiki be updated with the relevant information.
Maybe before HoT ships?
The wiki is mostly community-run, but y’all seem to update it fairly quickly so I imagine it’ll be updated once the endpoints are released.

make it sword sword and its my build, love shiro glint
Does Invocation, rolling Mists, make any sense with Marauder, with fury you will have %130 of crit chance wasted stats…..
Rolling Mists seems only make sense with Celestial and Crusader/Valkyrie (precision sigils with precison runes) I think.
In PvP I believe I have 54% critical-hit chance base with that build so fury would put me at 94% with rolling mists.

Anyone who participated in capturing the objective that also has claiming permission for their guild rank will see the Claiming UI.
Agreed. Things are a little too skewed in favor of defense currently and we have a few changes in mind. We want defenders to have an advantage, just not quite so extreme of an advantage.
One of the planned change will be to increase the amount of time it takes for an objective to fully upgrade to Fortified status. So you will be less likely to encounter fully fortified objectives.
Any player may slot upgrades into empty slots. Only members of the guild that owns the claim can override filled slots.
If you aren’t representing your guild, you aren’t counted as a member of the guild in the map. Nor do you count for the purposes of determining claim privileges at a newly captured objective.
Bug Fix:
- Corrected issue with the Mordrem Invasion Event that prevented some participants from receiving their rewards.
