On September 9th we added Skirmishes to the game. Now that everyone has had a chance to play them, what are your thoughts on Skirmishes? If there is anything, what would you like to see changed/added?
Unfortunately there is a map-long band of corrupt tiles for floor 1 of the Tyria map:
https://tiles.guildwars2.com/1/1/{z}/{x}/{y}.jpg
;___________;
Thanks for the heads up, I’ll regenerate the tiles again today — hopefully it was just a cosmic bitflip or something.
so for some reason when i woke up this morning and got on to guildwars 2 my loading screen took about 5 min, i did nothing yesterday the game worked fine (except for a lot of lag) but now the game loads slower than it does on my mac please help
Necroposting makes the mods Sad Pandas.
I think we’ll let it pass this time.
If you continue to notice issues, Rokua, you might post in the Technical Support forum, or submit a ticket so that you and work with our team to figure out whether there’s a problem or not.

Hey friends! We’re aware there are some shenanigans with the item purchase and are looking into it. Thank you for the reports on the issue!
Hi, Azu
Your error is different from what OP reported.
In any case, please attach the Gw2.log file. I think you pasted GFXSettings.gw2.exe.xml. They should be in the same folder.
The Black Lion Trading Company will be undergoing a scheduled maintenance this evening, Monday, September 26, 2016 starting at 8:00 pm Pacific time and ending at approximately 8:30 pm Pacific time. During this maintenance window both the Gem Store and the Trading Post may be briefly inaccessible. Please note that the Currency Exchange and client purchases are not expected to be impacted.

Just wondering — is this exclusively for Sylvari? I mean, that’s all fine and well, and I don’t want to plant any bad ideas, but would you leaf behind members of other races, should some of them want to attend?

Hello,
I created a feedback thread in the general GW2 Discussion sub-forum on the day that Episode 2 of Living World Season 3 launched. I placed it in that sub-forum because it is the one that is most highly trafficked, a sort of “one stop shopping” for many menbers.
However, if you have not shared it in the previous thread perhaps you’d like to offer it here, in the Living World sub-forum. We’d invite you to share your high-level feedback now that you’ve presumably had time to play the new release for a while. Let’s call it “In 50 words of less, what’s your impression of Rising Flames?”
Individual threads are great, too. We’re just seeking a consolidation of high-level comments through these general feedback threads.
Thanks so much for letting us know your impressions!

Just a note to thank everyone who has contributed to this thread.
For those who have not had a chance to add their thoughts, we welcome feedback in any number of threads or sub-forums, but are very much hoping that everyone will comment here, as well.
I am going to mirror this thread in the Living World Sub-forum as well, and will combine comments in both into a report.
Thanks again.

Hello,
I’m very sorry that this player is experiencing issues, and know that Customer Support will help them as soon as possible.
Please do not continue to post on this issue. Petitions are disallowed, and it would be inappropriate for CS to expedite a ticket simply due to posts asking for reprioritizing of a single player’s issues.
Thank you for understanding.

If you are still having this issue. Please send us your client log. Here’s how to do it:
1. Run the Gw2 executable with the “-log” argument. The easiest way is to open a command prompt, go to your install directory, and then execute “gw2.exe -log”
2. A few seconds after you receive the connection error message, close the client.
3. Post your client log here. You can find the log at "C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.log
Thanks!
So glad it’s corrected! I know the feeling: lost and helpless, wandering in the dark…

Yeah, it’s an unfortunate known issue. The backend component that handles gems globally needs to be re-deployed, which unfortunately is outside my purview
It is fixed now!
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed an issue in which Story Journal achievement completion needed all achievements to complete. Lowered the amount required from 26 to 23.
- Corrected the price of the discounted Carnival Greatsword to match the other two-handed weapons.
- Fixed a bug that caused the Sentient Aberration to share a daily limit with the Sentient Anomaly.
- The LFG entry for Bloodstone Fen has been updated to show the correct graphic.
- Fixed a server crash.
I love that you guys are on board with joining the Cat Herder Coalition™!
With libertreats and justfish for all!

Hello, i got my account permanently banned. I have sent a ticket that has remained unanswered since one month. I have done nothing wrong that could have resulting into my ban. I would like an explaination, a reason of my ban. I was told that some people got ban after using some vpn, and I use a vpn called hoxx while Im on the web, maybe it is related to my ban… i hope i’ll get an answer about my situation. Thanks, and apologize for my bad english.
If your account was banned, you would not be able to post in the forums. If you are writing about an alternate account, follow up with Customer Support in a ticket, and be sure you make it clear which account you’re discussing.
This is not the place to discuss, debate, or ask for the escalation of support issues. You have posted in the only thread in which questions about tickets are allowed, and you will be answered as soon as the team is able to do so, in the order of inquiries received.

ArenaNet has been known to ban everybody on an IP address. If you used a VPN service, it is possible to get banned along with other people. .
No, we don’t do that. I asked years ago about IP blocking and I learned that doing that can be risky, in that you may think you’re blocking a problematic player from rejoining the game, but in fact are taking out his/her entire apartment building, college, or neighborhood. Obviously, that would not be desirable.

Is it possible to implement interaction with game server so we can not only view but also act. Like correction of prices of current TP sell/buy listings. Is it even possible?
No, nor will that ever likely be possible.
At some point yes.
I’ve been trying to update the tiles all week, but the universe is colluding to prevent it from happening. It started off fairly mundane but it’s getting worse. The sixth attempt to regenerate tiles resulted in the power grid failing for about a mile around the studio yesterday. I’m hoping that today everything will work out.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a bug in which PvP League season stats would show incorrectly in the PvP panel.
- Ranger—“Search and Rescue!”: Fixed a bug by which this skill was shadowstepping players to incorrect locations.
- Fixed a bug in which ember apples remained on the ground, which will now be destroyed when dropped.
- Fixed a bug in which Leather Nodes would incorrectly spawn as other nodes in the guild hall.
- Fixed a spot in the Eternal Coliseum where it was possible for players to fall in and get stuck.
- Reduced the size of the toxic trails attack region from 80 to 50 and removed condition application.
- Removed toxic trails from the Cliffside Fractal.
- Fixed a bug in which the Molten Firestorm could have too large of an aggro radius.

Ha! I saw that cat, and it even ’Meow’ed at me, and I never even thought about the ‘cat’ collection.
Silly me!
If the Devs keep adding cats to locations, will we (who feed them) all eventually become ‘crazy cat ladies’? =P
Already there, personally.
If they want to go gender neutral they could use “Cat Wrangler” instead.
I prefer “Cat Herder.”

Hey everyone,
This has come up before and I thought I would give some insight as to why the capture points are the way they are.
When we look at the data we have for capture points, we notice that fights on bigger capture points tend to run much longer than capture points that are smaller. It makes sense, when players are able to use skills to guarantee hits on players that are on point, instead of the missing players that are on point but running around the outskirts of the point. This means on smaller cap points players will need to weigh the risk of being on the point and know when you need to rotate out.
Question time:
How do we like smaller capture points knowing that they reinforce fights coming to an end?
Would you change the mid point to be larger?
Would you change the side points to be larger?
This has been re-enabled. Happy training
09/20/2016 – September 20 Release Notes
- Reworked the Squad UI for clarity and added new features:
- Changed the text on several options to better represent what those options are.
- Commanders can now change their icons while in a squad.
Beta, Character Select/Create, Enhanced Squad UI, Play for Free, Raids, Streaming Client, & Mac
Not quite sure what this means for the week. I get restoring and cancelling the 5 minute round glitch. However since i cant remember what all the server glickos were at the end of the original matchup lets say FA was 1 880.000. Is that glicko rating at the end of this mathchup gonna be 1 880.000 regardless what happens the next 3 days or so? Will the glickos fluctuate during the week as normal based on score or is it frozen until the next roll at reset?
At the moment the “real” (but not publicly visible) Glicko ratings are where they would have been had the second, extra round end not happened.
After this week’s round, Glicko ratings will be updated using those “real” values and this week’s Victory Points results as inputs. Ratings will be updated in that way before the new matchups are determined.
Mursaat Token Bug Fix and Localized Text
We have released a hotfix for the following bug:
- Mursaat Tokens that were previously blocked, have been moved to accessible locations.
While we have corrected this bug, there is currently an issue with our pipeline that prevented localized text (German, French, Spanish) from being included in this bug fix.
We chose to release the bug fix to the functionality of Mursaat Tokens as soon as we could, rather than delay it.
The team is currently working on the issues with the localized text and this will be corrected as soon as possible.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed an issue in which the Open World category in the LFG tool did not include Ember Bay.
- Fixed a bug in which carnival weapons could not be purchased from the vendor.
- The Mercenary Amulet has been removed from the PvP Build panel.
- Mursaat Tokens that were previously blocked have been moved to accessible locations.
- World-map art around Ember Bay has been adjusted to fit the island.
- Adjusted the position of the Barrier Spires point of interest in order to clarify that ascending the spires is not necessary in order to obtain it.
- Adjusted the position of a chest in the Chalice of Tears jumping puzzle so that it is no longer half buried in the terrain.
- Fixed an issue that was blocking the Coliseum Prestige effect from being applied. Players are now granted access to the special action skill upon gaining 7 stacks of Coliseum Prestige.
- Renown-heart icons now better reflect progress toward completing them.
- Fixed a bug in which some players could not obtain the Promontory Waypoint in Ember Bay upon disconnection when loading the map.
- Fixed a server crash relating to the Mistlock Observatory golems.
- Ember Bay: Fixed an issue in which, after completing the Fractured Caldera task region, some players would not receive proper credit for completing the Skritt Anchorage task region.
- Bag of Fractal Relics: Fixed a bug that prevented this item from stacking in the inventory. This item now has consume-all functionality.
- Added name-delete confirmation to Infinite Mist potions and removed the ability to sell them to a vendor.
- Fractals: Fixed a bug in which scale 93 was awarding improper daily achievement credit.
- Tiers of Karmic Retribution can now only be purchased one at a time.
- Fixed a bug in which new players could not get matched in Unranked or Ranked arena.
- Fixed a bug in which PvP maps and Activities always had a capacity of 10 players.
- Fixed a bug in which adjacent skritt stashes would consume multiple contracts while only spawning one skritt. There are no longer adjacent skritt stashes.
- Fixed a crash that occurred when opening the scoreboard in PvP.
- Fixed an issue that would cause an FPS drop when rotating the camera after checking the Enable Camera Teleportation box in the Options panel.

I would recommend that in fringe cases where one is unsure if it is ok to necro a thread or not, one make a new thread but start off with a link to the old one as reference. “I didn’t want to necro (link) but the discussion there is relevant to this current concern of mine, which is …” that sort of thing.
Then a mod can merge the threads if the old one is still relevant enough and it won’t count as necro’d since a mod did it.
That is a very sensible suggestion. Thanks!

We want to reward players for playing the map while it is in Beta and give a cool title to represent that you were there during its beta phase. The beta tag will not be there forever as we will make changes to the map to bring it up the level of other conquest maps. The achievements are in for around 3 months, going from an entire off-season into a full active season.
After talking with the team we do agree it will be hard for players to get their Capricorn achievements so we have gone ahead and pinned both Coliseum and Capricorn for the next two weeks. Thank you all for you feedback and we will see you in the mists.

Thanks for this clarification, Gaile, it’s been something I’ve been wondering about for a while now.
Just for further clarification, if someone posts a contribution to a thread that is considered “necro’d,” and that post/thread gets deleted/locked, then is it okay for the person to create a new thread on that same topic?
~EW
That’s a good question. I wouldn’t be able to answer it across the board, though, because situations vary. In most cases, I think it would be ok, but you have instances where a question has been asked and answered and someone then feels compelled to open a new thread about the same topic. In any situation with a locked thread, it’s worth looking at why it was locked. For instance, if it’s an old topic that’s discussed multiple times (a few come to my mind, as I’m sure they do yours ) then not creating a new thread would be best. In other cases, it might be fine. I’d just suggest using best judgment on the matter.

This post was removed, but I think (with a modest change in title to make its purpose clearer) it’s a worthwhile topic.
I agree that it’s awkward if we ask members to try to post in related threads and then “ding” them when they do. If a member finds a thread within a reasonable timeframe — say, in the last six months, perhaps? — adding to that thread seems fine to me in many cases.
There are a few kinds of “necro” posting:
- Adding to a topic in a relevant way
- Posting in an old thread (sometimes on a regular basis) to try to “bump” a topic
- Posting in an older thread in a non-constructive way
The difference between “constructive” and “non-constructive” can be the difference between “I’m still experiencing this issue” and "Get off your kitten, Anet, and FIX THIS!! "
Anyway, it seems to me it makes perfect sense to post comments in a recent thread, and recent doesn’t necessarily mean this last week. If you find a post on a certain topic, you can post your contribution in that thread. That sometimes helps us gauge the import of an issue or evaluate the level of interest in a suggestion.
Thanks for asking the question, lethotix, and I hope this information makes you feel a little better about how we hope that things will go.
