No worries! Sorry for the inconvenience.
Uhh, that reminds me — I still need to write the frontend bits for it. Here’s what I’m thinking — let me know if there’s a better structure.
Unfortunately, because kills/deaths are tracked in a totally separate system (that has no persistent storage) I haven’t been able to add those into the skirmish data — but the scores at skirmish end (for all skirmishes in the match) are in there.
You should be fixed now raumlet.
Well there are the following ids = 79342,79320,79322,79319 that are missing as API:2/Items for the achievement id 3089
Blergh, not sure why whitelisting that achievement didn’t also whitelist the items. Whitelisted the manually while I try to figure out why that isn’t working.
Sorry, I should have broadcasted this change more widely. The answer ids turned to strings because they weren’t actually unique ids — they’re only unique within the context of a backstory question.

Meant to have it in for this one, but the implementation turned out to be fairly complex and I slipped the cutoff date by a few days
Skritts are back on the job, doing what skritts do. Contract with them at your own risk, of course.
Did they fix the bug where the skritt get stuck in terrain and don’t open the stash?
If the skritt hasn’t been able to loot the stash for you after 30 seconds, he now gives up and refunds your contract.

Hi folks,
Unranked and Ranked Arenas will be taken down for maintenance today at 3pm Pacific. The process should take no longer than an hour. Custom Arenas will be available for use during this time.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Woot, thanks for the ids — that made it super easy.
Went ahead and whitelisted both of those achievements.

No update yet, but I have requested one, when it becomes available.
Due to an issue related to creatures in the Destruction’s Maw area, we have temporarily disabled creature spawning while we correct the situation. We will re-enable creatures in this area as soon as the problem has been addressed. Thanks for understanding.
This is a known issue. It’s pending a deployment of the backend component that handles gems which is totally outside my purview.
ginryu — Please add this to the official Quality of Life Suggestions thread so that it can be reviewed in the proper context. Thank you.
I can’t purchase gems with paypal.
It just says there was an error and to try again later. Please fix this arena net,I want to give you $100 but it looks like you don’t want it.
I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble, but happy to note you’ve submitted a ticket, so the team will be able to help you soon.

Yes, it is bugged, and we’re very sorry. I have verified that you can complete your dailies by doing the other three components (for instance, doing the jumping puzzle instead or foragaging), or doing elements in WvW or PvP. So there are options for a work-around for this issue, for those of us who do Dailies, daily. However, we’re sorry for any inconvenience this bug causes and reports have been submitted so that we can investigate and avoid a repeat in the future.
Thanks for your understanding.

Just saw the stream, loads of fantastic works!
Congrast to everyone who got featured!
I agree, it was a terrific set of assets. And thanks again, Knightsy, for your wonderful creations!
Hey Gaile! When’s the deadline? (so that I won’t miss it again
)
Hi Levi — I would say that I will be pulling assets for the show around October 7-10. I have to do it early to get the assets into the presentation, write the script, etc. Those dates may be before the Halloween Festival starts within the game (I’m not sure). In any regard, artists can use their memories, general Halloween culture, or images from last year for inspiration.
Hope to see something from you – you always do such great work!
Hello,
Events of this sort — which we support very much! — belong in this In-Game Events sub-forum and that is why the thread was moved here.
If you have been following the Scavenger Hunt thread, here it is. If you have not been following it, consider joining in!
(edited by Gaile Gray.6029)
Hey there, Halloween fans!
We’d love to know about your upcoming Halloween-related events, parties, gatherings, hauntings, and more! I will be sharing a listing of player-led events with the entire studio in our weekly newsletter. If you share info about the event here, I may be able to include it.
Info to provide:
Add to that a description of what you’re planning and you’re good to go!
Thanks so much for supporting our Halloween event with your own special parties and events — it makes the holiday so much richer for everyone!
I am so sorry that I believed that Alkyoneus was the creator! Please, everyone, if you are sharing creations from another person, make sure your listing says that, so that we can credit the artist properly.
Thank you for understanding, Hunnamus!

Due to a bug that affected spawn rate, we have temporarily disabled a few of the creatures in the Mursaat Fortress.
Players will still be able to complete events in this area.
We are investigating the issue and we will re-activate the creatures as soon as we have a fix.
Thanks for your patience and understanding while we work to correct this issue.
I think Anet might feel my ideas are feasible and might work, even if not in the exact manner I presented them. Since they infracted and edited my post for reasons they did not share with me, and didn’t delete my post outright.
Just imagine, a world vs world having actual military orders and punishments. it adds a whole new dimension to the game.
The reason your comments were edited was clearly explained in your infraction notification: "Do not post using all capital letters, “leetspeek,” excessive punctuation, colored text, alternating lower case and capital letters, or any other attention-seeking formatting. Allow the content of your post to speak for itself without attempting to draw attention through formatting gimmicks.”
All that was edited was the removal of capital letters. To suggest that it was altered in some substantive way is inappropriate and untruthful.
While we appreciate the objective of highlighting dev input on a topic, what happens when a new thread is created is that the discussion — in this case a very valuable one — is split.
We have merged the newer thread into the core thread. Be aware that because there is a developer response within the thread, and that is highly visible on page 1, it’s unlikely that her comments will be missed. In addition, because this thread (and not the other) has the “red flag” of an ArenaNet post, this thread would / should remain the focal point in continuing the conversation.
Thanks for understanding.
Edit: Here’s a link to the developer post mentioned above.
(edited by Gaile Gray.6029)
There were several interesting reports in this thread about possible issues with those less-than-wholesome and clearly less-than-motivated worker rats.
I have passed along the reports. Thanks for, first of all, using the in-game report system for them, because that gives the devs a chance to get more data than a forum report. However, posting in this thread wasn’t a bad idea!
Hrm, would it be useful to do the filtering on the API side? e.g., expose an endpoint that returns skins (perhaps by armor weight/weapon type?) that have the ShowInWardrobe flag set?
There is an issue with the tracking of player map completion in Episode 2. We apologize for this issue, and we’re going to address it in the future. However, due to the complexity of the back-end systems that drive repeatable hearts and other elements within Episode 2, we won’t be able to make a quick fix for this.
In the meantime, we’d like to share some pointers on how to best achieve Map Complete in Ember Bay:
Did you actually engage in combat within the encounter? Many of our fights require you to get kill participation before you get rewards.
There is an issue with the Skritt Worker Contracts that will be addressed as soon as possible. In the meantime, we have temporarily disabled the contracts.
So they went on strike?
Yeah, some people found a loophole in their contract that allowed them to avoid paying the skritt workers for their labor. The skritt have gone on strike until a new contract can be negotiated.
Perhaps not related but there’s a bug where if you are not on the ground (jumping) while using the contract it will be used but will not yield any reward (or skritt). Hopefully these issues can be resolved
I can pass that long, since they’re actively working on the contract. Thanks!
September Episode up on YouTube now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glr7iYEVnOE
Thanks for joining us, during the show or after!

Excellent, good feedback so far!
@Gaile: It’s definitely not exclusive to sylvari! I’m coming on my main human!
Good news! I’m glad that us non-veggies are welcome!
That’s a nice set of links! Now, how do we alert ANet that the Dragon Vigil track’s only comment is inappropriate irrelevant spam?
edit: That same spam message seems to be on all the tracks. I don’t know what controls SoundCloud has on such things but ANet likely wants it gone yesterday.
Thanks for the reports. My associate is working on cleaning that up right now.
A message from the WvW Team,
The next WvW Poll is up!

Please share your thoughts and feedback on the poll in this thread!
Yeah, some of the skins are a bit wonky — it’s tempting to blacklist them, but it’s possible that someone has an item in their bank or something that uses that griffon skin, for example.
The Mistward skins are almost certainly from the HoT beta that we did on live — probably just an implementation artifact from trying to ensure that the beta bits didn’t affect non-beta features.
Probably gonna wontfix across the board. The way the wardrobe interface on the client filters skins is (1) enumerate all skins, note the ones that have ShowInWardrobe, (2) for any skins that have HideIfLocked, remove them from the list if the user hasn’t unlocked them, then (3) render out any remaining skins. Having extra bits and bobbles in the API shouldn’t affect anything, I think :<
Hiya! Do you have a ticket number I can take a look at?

Is it the same for Challenger of the Arena, Soldier of the Arena, Veteran of the Arena, Master of the Arena and Legend of the Arena? They are legacy pvp titles that were awarded via items
Yep, those look to be the same. The item just awards you the achievement on use, then the achievement gives you the title.
I’ll go ahead and whitelist those achievements too so that their respective titles show up.
Hey everyone,
I wanted to address the idea of moving world linking to monthly instead of every 2 months, since it is being brought up more and more frequently.
The team isn’t opposed to this idea; we actually think it would be beneficial to move to monthly because it would allow us to iterate faster on how we are calculating which worlds should be linked. However, the main reason for not doing this right now is the matchmaking algorithm, Glicko. Each time we shuffle worlds via world linking it takes about 4 weeks’ worth of matches before Glicko begins to reliably match make those new worlds into balanced matches. If we did world linking monthly, Glicko would not be able to create balanced matchups.
Our next priority poll is going to be asking if players would rather have us work on adding rewards to skirmishes (and possibly other feedback items being collected from this thread) or replace Glicko matchmaking with a 1-up 1-down system (wherein the winner moves up a tier and the loser moves down a tier.) The 1-up 1-down system should work better with monthly linkings than Glicko, so we are most likely going to hold off on 1 month linkings until that system is in.
Another possibility we could pursue is 1 month linkings, but use the Glicko offset system to guarantee the matches. Alternatively, we could manually change Glicko ratings to what we believe they should be for each world. Either option would force worlds to start out closer to being in the correct tier and thus give better matches faster. These options are contentious, so even if everyone on the forums seemed to like this idea it would be something we would poll on.
It currently does not; there’s an open issue for it, but I’m not sure what the status of that is anymore. Will look into it shortly.
EDIT: Ah, nevermind, that one’s actually added via achievement. The achievement just wasn’t whitelisted until just now; the title should appear shortly I think.

Changing the number of Victory Points (VP) awarded for Skirmish placement is something we are considering. So far we’ve intentionally held off changing the live values (3/2/1), to avoid altering too many variables at once. First, we wanted to see how, if at all, WvW play patterns would evolve just with the addition of Skirmish scoring, before making any further iterations on specific VP values. That said, internally, we’ve been graphing-out current match results, using various sets of adjusted VP scoring to see how, if at all, existing match results would change when scored using updated values. We have also been investigating if adding something like a time-of-day or population-based scoring multiplier would have any noticeable impact on match results. For those interested, so far it hasn’t. Worlds who have been winning are still winning even if we added the time-of-day multiplier, but we will continue to evaluate if it will make a difference.
In an effort to keep our website timely and accurate, we review it from time to time to make sure that everything is current and complete. When doing a review pass on the Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns website, we discovered some language that was out of date and required correction.
