The title say’s it all.
Just logged into the game this morning and found out all my characters’ appearances have changed – and they change constantly each time I access the character panel!
This even occurs with a few of the named NPC’s. Overall physical appearances change as well as gear worn. I just sent a bug report, for all the good it will do….
Also, just to say, I’m starting to get a tad frustrated, because earlier, I finally got a character that was “trapped” (trapped as in I kept getting kicked out and couldn’t access the character) in Brisbane Wildlands only for all of this weirdness to happen. Now all my characters like awful!
Keep getting kicked out of certain areas.

I have a problem with getting kicked out of certain areas of the game map while playing PvE. One of the areas is Brisban Wilderness (or some such) and the other is Lion’s Arch. I sent a message a couple of times after I got kicked out. Shortly after, sometimes something pop’s up for me to comment on to send to Areanet.
In short, I keep getting “kicked out” of certain areas and the game closes down.
They pile up, I sell them off….
Charr elite racial skill
Summon Box; Summon a cardboard box to play with and sleep in. Adds +5% to all stats. for 1 hour. Can only be used out of combat. 180 second recharge.

I have found the charr’s ‘battle cry’ useful in conjunction with the warrior shout “For Great Justice” and the elite Rage Signet. You wind up with a crap ton of might, fury and quickness.
lLobo; I think the Tool Kit should also have a cleave ability on the last wrench attack ("Thwack) as well as the crowbar attack. The second attack – with the bits of metal and nails etc… is near useless. Keep the 2 seconds of cripple, but increase the bleed damage more. Hell, you could add agony damage as well. I mean, ever step on something sharp and pointy? Lots of nerve endings down there!
Aside from that, your post is fine.

I think maybe we should fix the ones that need it, before we create new kits and skills.
Let’s face it, the engineers skills (kits in particular) need an overhaul. The only one I use often is the flamethrower kit, occasionally the tool and grenade kits. Most of the gadgets and some of the kits are near useless – at least to myself.
Never understood why Arenanet did not make spears (or similar) as land base weapons. The opening posts seems to make sense to me.
Historically, spears come in two basic forms; A heavy thrusting spear used with two hands. A lighter spear used in conjunction with a shield, that could be used in melee or thrown as a javelin.

I think it would be nice if other characters could view your character for appearance, gear as well as access builds and so on. That way more experienced players can give tips or compliments (via whisper or mail) and perhaps even suggest improvements.

Thanks loads, Ayrilana! Your suggestion seems to have done the trick! Problem solved!
Been having problem with computer lags and ’freezes". This started happening about 2 days ago.
I play mainly condition rangers and use the following; Axe/Torch and Axe/Axe. To round out the build, I use three traps (Frost, Viper’s Nest and Flame) and two shouts (“We Heal as One” and "Strength of the Pack). Armour runes used are anything that increases condition duration and/or the condition stat. Gear overall tends to be Carrion (mostly) and maybe some Dire/Rampager thrown in. Weapon sigils used are anything that increases condition damage, vulnerability/weakness duration, (or on hit) and might on weapon swap.
This build is extremely effective against mobs, for holding a position and against large slow moving opponents. It’s also good for combat in relatively close quarters and small areas (chambers, hallways etc…). The traps mentioned earlier are great for laying down fields for combos as well.
Experiment and have fun.

Not my style – at all. I’m too much of a hard realist, I guess. Although some of the (somewhat) more fantasy stuff I do like. Examples include the reclaimed weapon sets and a fairly large number of the cultural weaponry and armour (from various races, factions etc…) are also good. Like some people, I tend to mix and match armour, weaponry and such, to put together my own looks.
In the end, it boils down to personal aesthetics. Anet knows this, hence, the wide array of style in gear.

Iron, black, tarnished steel, and the charred dye group as well as swamp green are typical. In some cases, various earth tones as well. Nothing too flashy.

Quick question; What are the differences in stats between exotic and legendary/ascendent items?
Personally, I don’t think housing should be instanced. Also, for it to be of any use, it should give some worthwhile bonuses to stay a spell – Perhaps bonuses to select stats, karma, goldfind etc… or an equivalent food/utility buff of some sort. They could also be hubs for social activity.
For housing, my characters just need a box…..
If the charr are based off of cats (I’m assuming this, mind you) then one should realize that cats as a whole display little sexual dimorphism when compared, to say, humans. Cat mammary glands do not nearly show as much on the exterior as human mammary glands. As for the assurans, it’s anyone’s guess.
‘Large fat tabby cat of dubious character’
I’ll put in my vote for the “Dragon’s Watch”. It’s descriptive, to the point, while sounding reasonably dramatic without overdoing it.
To reiterate, I like the idea of small figurines of characters, monsters, as well as your own player characters, because one can use them for “pencil and paper” tabletop gaming.

Charr grade kitty litter….
“If it’s good enough for charr, it’s good enough for your cat”.
I think some mini figurines would be nice. Say to scale using inches (or centimeter) measurements. These could include all our favorite characters and monsters, as well as special offers that could include your player characters.
Can we please please please please please have cat minis? Not the small ones- the ones that are mostly npcs? With the big tail and that are kinda fat? They’re so cute! The one that was on the gemstore was a little weird. Like it’s tail was super short. And as a crazy cat lady, I’d totally buy every cat mini in any possible color!
Yes!!!! More cat minis – especially nice fat ones like the ones I have at home….
Regarding the jungle, my “fall back” plan is always the same; Buddy up with someone you know and trust and a good ol’ carrion condition/CC build. Don’t care much for raw dps, if you keep dying. What matters to me at the end of the day is the ability to survive each encounter with my furry charr butt intact! ;-)

I’m quite happy with a few thousand gold. It provides for all my needs. Beyond a certain point, it becomes redundant
.
Tyria seems to be a pretty big place. Maybe there are other races out there yet to be encountered. I think a dinosaur-like race would be cool.
I would also like it if Arenanet just added which traits (stats) get increased when you choose a trait line like it used to be. When I choose a trait line for a given character, it’s hard to tell which stats get increased.
There is plenty of extra wood, leather and cloth to be gained through salvage alone. Although rich plant and wood nodes would seem like a reasonable add on.
GW2 is like real life…. in that kittens come in all colours….
My choices are the Skritt, Kodan, Tengu with the possible inclusions of the Quaggen. Hylek and Dredge.
I find Ogres would be just too big in overall size to be practical and Centaur would have problems with armour etc… Not that either would be impossible to implement.
I’ve always preferred my guardian in pve. Good survivability, decent damage, can help others (I like personally like doing that). The one con is that dirt moves faster than them.
My buff tank mace/shield warrior is also good for that. Two banners and a “For Great Justice” shout gives plenty of support for other characters. Also. very survivable.
I would recommend rangers and engineers. They are both great for “crowd control” which helps new players cope.
For myself, I tend to favor the more realistic designs. All my warriors use a harness/gladiator style chest piece. I think it just looks cool. Furthermore, I tend to favor the more realistic weaponry, but there have been some exceptions. It’s a simple matter of aesthetics and preference.
It would be nice to see some more down to earth gear, but it will depend largely on the demand from the player base.

My big fat chunky charr sword warrior purrs in delight….
Fixed…. Seems you just have to download and keep up to date.
It’s back….
I play a melee (mostly) ranger to good effect. Sword/dagger combo gives plenty of poison and dodge ability. Also, I use traps (at least two) to deadly effect. Sometimes, I’ll switch to axe/horn for range and buffs and it’s better for multiple (‘crowd control’) targets. Loads of fun to play!
Sword is good for condition builds, but little else. One of my warriors uses duel swords/longbow. doing fairly large amounts of condition damage. Axe and greatsword are overall great for power builds, however.
Well done TPenny!
Thick Skin would work (at least in PvE) if it where beefed up somewhat. Like say it’s effectiveness would be increased by using something like 70%, instead of 90%. Even in PvE, the trait as it is, is of minimal value.
Armored Attack isn’t bad – at least for PvE. Dogged March works reasonably well in PvE.
You, sir, are a breeder of assisted PUGs and low Commanders. I hope you enjoy being ran into by clearly organized groups on your server.
I was just playing the game minding my own business. There were a couple of them, and one kicked me as I was finishing up a quest involving attacking flame legion attacking a fort or base. Me being ‘kicked’ didn’t seem to make a difference though. So, I really don’t understand what all that was about.
(edited by Andy Warhol.6250)
I was playing once and one of those commanders ‘kicked’ me, but I was not a part of any group or party. What’s up with all that anyways? I mean, do they have special powers and whatnot?
Okay, it’s all good again. Seems all I did was download and installed the latest window 7 (64 bit version) update (the recommend one). I hope this helps.
I have no idea what to do. I use Avast Free Antivirus, and one thing I did notice is that its most recent update is today.
It just happened to me as well! Same thing. Maybe someone in tech support can give us some step by step instructions on how to correct it.
My general attitude, is just to have fun, as opposed to ‘winning’. I guess this puts me on the ‘casual’ side of things, but I really don’t care. For myself, your gear and build just has to be ‘good enough’, as opposed to ‘the best’. So my advice is, go out there and play! Enjoy the game for what it is.
I usually hang around the Town of Nageling to fight the Separatist raiders and that huge giant that terrorizes the town. The frozen Maw is another favorite. Both are loads of fun! Often, at Nageling, I usually save at least two downed characters per encounter, and on one occasion I saved four! It really does test your skills. When looking at the combat log, many other players have healed me as I was fighting and so on.
