Ranger has been boring for me as my pet takes care of almost everything for me.

thief would be the tougher of the options for me followed by mesmer. avoid necromancer/ranger/guardian/warrior as they can heal through 90% of the content and mesmer has their illusions and sword.

i would like some LONG hair options for female asura like what human has.

In a new patch we are getting reward of 2 golds for a daily achievements, it is too much in my opinion, with 2golds per day, just from achievements, its like 730g / year. With that big income of thousand players it could harm gw2 economy really hard.

What do you feel about that ?

tbh i make 60-80 gold a day and that’s being lazy so no 2 gold wont harm the economy at all.

The close combat of the Reaper is excellent and the chill helps to keep a foe in range, but I found maintaining melee range in WvW and PvP difficult.

“Nothing Can Save You” is a great shout thematically and, if used at the right time, in PvP can be a lot of fun. However, I wonder if this shout could benefit from the addition of Switness or Superspeed.

i am speced to move quicker when in shroud form so chasing people down is not an issue. that and if you know how to use some of the utility skills 7-0 you can end groups at a time. hell the AOE freeze elite skill is a blast. i dropped 2 thief’s with it then focused the guardian and killed him. never once lost more then 10% hp.

So, I returned to the game after a hiatus of some time (I was really wicked sick for a while and not gaming at all, couldn’t even sit up) and now I’m faced with Dry Top and rumors of bouncing mushrooms and gliders. My health, low vision, and coordination are such that I have never been very good at PvP (I get by) or jumping puzzles (I suck), but there is so much more to the game, I could alway sidestep most of the jumping puzzles and just muscle my way slowly through progression outside of PvE with caveats to anyone with me.

But let me tell you. I hate Dry Top. Or perhaps, Dry Top hates me. And there is not a single time I have been in Dry Top I don’t hear someone cussing in /m that they are hating their life because of the terrain.

Dear Abbies: should I just pack in the hundreds of dollars I’ve spent on this game and find another hobby?

Honestly i am no good at pvp or jumping puzzles. I have done what research i can on HoT and from what i gather you will have the ability to glide should you mess up and such. If you find a part to difficult just ask a mesmer for help, they can port you to the location (assuming it is close by) I personally suffer from a weak heart so to much stress and i am bed bound for weeks. I try to play GW2 in a relaxed manner and not give much kitten about what others thing or say. All i can suggest is wait until the expansion comes out and give it a shot for your self, feel free to add me if you wish i have a mesmer (80) and i also have a few friends who are mesmer who do not fail terribly at jumping XD.

@Sorel.4870 Nice to see a person giving advice here instead of the normal “get good” comments i see. Keep being awesome! as for handling thief on ele i use staff (pve) and im to lazy to change for WvW so when they vanish i drop lava font on me and that alone ends up deterring them most the time. I am not speced for heavy DPS but for more crit and might stack, so 2/3/1/1/2 usually kills them. and placing lava font on me keeps them from back stabbing me XD

I actually run a MM build with axe/horn on my necro. Sure its not the “best” (aka the meta) but kitten if it is hard for me to die. I got to watch the whole field of players die at a WB while i remained at 90% hp thanks to minions pulling hp from mobs and removing my condis.

i agree with most, though if you think gw2 is unfriendly to RPers play tera..took them until last expansion to add walk >>

Willing to help anyone i can. I am experienced with necromancer/elementalist (staff) and thief (all over builds) all PVE mind you, i don’t enjoy pvp so i avoid it. I am on tarnished coast if anyone needs help with these or basic questions i will answer to the best of my abilities.

I sadly did not get to speak with her personally but i do know she helped some of my friends who i sent over the PS since they were from the EU and wanted to RP with people within their own time frame. I am saddened to see such a positive person leave us. Though gw2 (TC in my experience) has become more and more toxic this post reminds me that we need to do our best to remain positive. One day we are here and the next we could be gone. As for some sort of memorial wall in divinity i would agree, would be nice of anet. I have lost a few dear friends over the course of the game but we need to remain strong in their memory. And continue to carry their actions until the servers them self are a friendly and happy place to be, then once that is done we can finally sit down and smile knowing that we have all done something that not many games have been able to.

heh i did, last group i got from it were quite…..rude towards asura -_-

was fighting a champ on my lvl 27 necro. the 3 randoms died (a guardian a thief and an ele) so i soloed it. DS is a life saver giving my healing minion time to get some of my BASE hp back. i am a power/condi hybrid and though i don’t kill quickly i am VERY hard to kill.

“log in rewards” aka “please don’t forget about me” Though i do like it more because trying to grind monthly between work and family is a pain.

I have made 7 different necros since i joined on launch and honestly…they need some TLC. I have a lvl 80 thief (poor things keep geting hit with the nerf bat in pve) a lvl 80 guardian (cant kill her) and my poor necro lvl 21…lvling is sloooooooow as heck. Anet has been failing in my eyes (this coming from a gw1 player) the new “dumbed down” starter zones and such took most of their man power where the classes and balancing should have taken priority. Necro needs to be picked back up out of the mud, thief needs to stop taking the PVE nerf bat (pvp they are still heavy hitters) and many other classes need tweaks, i say they should have 2 versions of every skill one for PVE one for PVP i know a few games that have done this so they can adjust one without effecting the other. BUT that makes to much sense so it wont happen.

Hello, i am just getting back in to gw2, sadly most of my friends ended up quitting so i am left alone on tarnished coast. I was hoping to find some people to RP with, but the ones i find around DR and such tend to be rather closed with their RP session or in one case flat out refused to RP with my asura because she is well asura. I don’t play a bunch (maybe 1 hour a day 3 days a week) thus not active enough for a guild. Thank you for taking time to read my request, have a great day.

I sadly got nothing, though i did send a bunch of stuff to random people whom i have run in to. Spend around 100g on it all and now im broke but hey gold is easy to get back, i jsut hope i put a smile on their faces considering the letters hat went with the attached items took me a while to write.

That armor is TAME compared to castanic on tera…..trust me

Save it for when gem market drops down again below 11 gold then sell said gems around xmas for 13-15g for 100. Did it last year and walked away with a 5k gold prof

I could not see your standard mmo style raid working on gw2 due to lack of an actual healer,tank and such. So for those who will be raiding, expect it to be quite different.

I did some test on both my toons, the hit box on asura is much smaller, thus making jumping puzzles and AOE doge events much easier. But it also makes seeing over taller items thanks to PoV. Norn has a much bigger one and also takes up more screen then asura thus making JP tougher.

Wow a necro asking for a reduction fix, now i have seen it all. I dont pvp but i did notice this while lvling my necro and thought of how bad it would be in pvp.

I do not mind if others peak in a different laguage so long as they ATTEMPT to speak English when it matters. I have seen those who flat out were insulting others in Spanish ( i speak Spanish) and another time in Brazilian (i speak enough of it to understand it) so those people promptly got their words translated and i never saw them again on the server. Simply put if you join an ENGLISH server please at least know some basic words so your not out casting yourself in dungeons and such.

I love some of the dungeon armor, and as an RPer id like to get the medium armors for RP. Sadly i have a health condition that if stressed or anything such as that (basicly i cant dungeon/pvp or anything that puts stress on you) my heart loses rythm. Now i do not think we should be able to get dungeon GEAR though i would like to have the fashion from them, perhaps make them a drop from champ bag or something. that way those such as my self can still get the appearance without taking away the hard earned work that those who run dungeons do.

Swing and a miss. The points of the video are quite simple.
1: A game devs are not in it for the money but for the lvoe of games. They cant do this for free so they attempt to make money, though as she mentioned they could go to microsoft or amazon and make much more then they can through a game.

2:She is talking to those players who think it is easy or they can do a better job and that games should be purely free or have x amount of content.

3: about the same as 2 but this is more of a “i can make a better game” kind of comment. The truth is said person can’t, and no they would not change anything if they were x dev or x position in a company.

and my fave part 4: This is a nice message to the devs, She is talking about how closed door game devs are about what they are working on and how they would let the community know what is going on. Be a bit more active with them and even listen to feed back.

Now before anyone bashes me for my reply, let me just throw out there that much like her i use to work on games. most were browser games but they took just as much work and love as a normal mmo.

its not the mega server, what is killing the guilds could be a hand full of things. From crummy leadership to inactivity of the higher ranks. Or even some “new” members who get mad because they don’t get free things. on ESO i run a rather large guild (120 members) all are active through out the week and all it takes is a little effort to keep everything running smoothly and to keep everyone happy.

to bad you cant skin med armor on to it. there is a helm that looks like samurai sadly its med armor

Yet again bookahs trying to tell others who to love and who not to love. Sure charr are mean at times, but they also offer a much safer line of protection then a malfunctioning golem. If your hear says charr then do not let the other asura or char stop you. My love would happen to be a charr (we are both females of course) but we have been happy for quite a long time. she is able to understand most of my inventions though at times they even confuse me.

as Windu The Forbidden One.6045 mentioned there is this coupling. i did also find a norn who dated an asura but it did not work..that was a funny little conversation in hoelbrak.

i just contacted support..apparently they wont refund me for my 2 extra pirate outfits or my 2 extra armor skins saying they never offered such a deal. so i sent them this page..if they can argue that they never said this then the CS rep is in the wrong business lol

Most people sadly want EVERY mmo to be like wow as far as expansions and content. i play ESO and love it. im lvl 30 now due to re rolling been playing since the 5 day access and honestly its not that bad of a game. Now back on topic, GW2 did have a small drop in players but tarnished coast starter zones still hit overflow quite often.

Wow never thought i would see a thread like this. War does not really need anything new they face roll the game as is. Play a thief/ele or necro then see how you feel about a war..

I enjoy seeing well made female charr. I have seen some ugly ones but most the time i snap kitten of them and add them to my Blog as well as others who make me stop in the middle of an event >>.

got to let them add it first. cant break something if its not in my hands now can i?….wait…..can i?

eh like i said i will keep my thief for lols. and in the end i will find another way to break past the stupid nerfs they add.

ty you made me laugh lol, Sadly thief needs some love not hate from the team >> i dont mind a small “balance” fix but changing the stats all together is BAD, Now i get to pick mesmer or war for my replacement class (still keeping thief because well..i love the class despite being kicked in to the dirt)

Nice to see this type of thread. I main thief and im not real happy with the crit changes but i pve only now so the survivability will be nice. I also have a mesmer that i am working on as a break from thief. sadly NO CLUE WHAT IM DOING with her because im use to sneaky stabby lol

I play and main thief but i also have an ele and war lvl 80. I can say my war outruns BOTH of them and then when the thief or ele chasing me hits their cool down i stop turn around and roll over them. Thief’s cant “turn invisible” on command like one of the post mentioned if they are chasing you with a kitten ed SB. ele has a little more of a chance but war holds more defense and hp and will win quite quickly.

Necro still has survivability. I play both a necro and thief and honestly thief is getting it FAR worse then this…we have a tiny HP pool and low defense. Where necro has HP steal and also the “oh crap button” as i call it. This change is hurting all Power builds but the crit change is killing thief >>

Welcome to asking the SAME question i ask when i see thief get hit with the nerf stick..its been so often that thief now has it lodged up their rear.

Honestly those who cry about thief being OP need to play one in PVE. PVE thiefs are more kill able then an ELE. i play both both are 80. i DON’T pvp or WvW i DO PVE and raid. And honestly i have an easier time on my ele then thief. they hit the thief’s HP pool and defense. and now they hit the crit rate. I do agree that ele needs a total rework but they also need to find ways to fix classes in pvp and WvW without destroying them in PvE

Sadly this seems to be the case with quite a few guilds. I was in a guild and got booted because (im guessing) i did not log on for 2 weeks. i was in the hospital at that time and even did my best to post it on their forums on my crappy smart phone. when i came back i was blocked from communication to the leader so i will never find out. all you can do is shrug and remember that not every one plays to have fun some want to be the best at everything and those people tend to quit games quickly when they find you cant be the best at everything.

LOL thank you all for a good laugh. And my title of “Thief OP?” was made due to the HUGE amount of post i am reading saying that we are OP. Personally i feel guardian and war need a little nerf mainly war. but hey when i manage to kill 3-5 ppl before dying then i know im enraging them and probably causing them to hop on here and rage. I do like reading some of your guys ideas. and got the laugh i needed for the day. Keep posting and lets see how many different views on thief we can collect.
