No, I like a game you can play for years and I like people to listen to and talk to, I’m not anti-social, have spent many years as a member and even the leader of hardcore raiding guilds.

I’m just getting old and groups are always in such a hurry that I find them more stressful than fun these days. I like to enjoy the content, not just dash through it and gobble it up as quickly as possible.

Ahhh so the hardcore elitists are happy! Good for them, bad for everyone else…. wonder how many normal and casual players they lose over this?

I’m mostly a soloist and hear that this dungeon is so hardcore-only at the end that someone with no experience at dungeons in this game would drastically hurt every one else’s chances in the group…especially a ranger with a pet. Besides most groups require an outside voice program and I don’t like the hassle of trying to get the kitten things to work.

I don’t begrudge group content, just wish a solo version had been considered. I like this game because you can just jump in and help without hurting anybody on most things and not have to bother with grouping.

So if a soloist, what can you do in Sky Pirates and can you still get something useful and where do you start?

If this was done properly, there would be no confusion. This is a game, all answers should be IN THE GAME, not on any website. Also, the game has so many bugs, that your first assumption on being stuck is that something is broken.

,maybe that’s what happened…for me the pot (or scanner or whatever) doesnt seem to do anything

I did all the guys with circles over their heads in the instance but never saw a result, didnt have any indication on what to do next, so left,

Is there ANY way to get help in this puppying game?

Ok I got the kit “used” it on the people with marks above their heads but there was no indication that it was working, no animation, nothing. Talked to them, one didnt say much. Then nothing, no indication to go elsewhere or that i had actually done anything.
So I exit and look up the useless “spoilers” provided here by anet, says I should find a dead man after using the kit, but no indication where other than in Lions arch. Go back in game, try again for responses, this time no marks above their heads.

This sucker is either broken or I’m supposed to pay someone for where the dead guy is..(IF the “kit” even did anything to begin with.)

I am so royally puppied off…..anybody got any ideas?

I hate being forced to group PvP for Dragonball.

Mainly because it is unfair for any group to have me in it for PvP since I never ever even spar.

I occasionally have enjoyed the huge battles of realm v realm in other games mainly because I usually supply support but never was a fan of PvP on an individual or small group scale.

I agree with you guys, don’t get rid of the markers as I said since some guilds use them in PvE, just have a way the rest of us can turn them off … must be over 15 of them in Lion’s Arch cluttering up the map.

I assume those commanders indicated by the blue marks on the map are for WvW . They are cluttering up the PvE landscape and do nothing as far as I can see. Please remove the indicator from everywhere except where they do something.

Also, please remove the map indicator for owning player only lions merchant. It’s irritating to weave your way to a Lion’s merchant marker and not be able to interact with it.

Overall, please remove any useless clutter on the maps so we can find the things we need and can actually use a little easier.

Almost everyone trying to be in the same place at same time on all worlds and overflows PLUS awesome fireworks in a zone that is already graphics-heavy. So doubt anyone will be able to move at best. Just a sea of names and probably hndreds complaining that they didn’t get credit or whatever toy.

How can you guys love a game of pure chance that costs too much? Absolutely zero skill or thinking required.

Still don’t know what you win, may be it’s worth it if you have a puppyload of gold to spend. I just saw a half gold ante and left. I started way late, just hit 80 and have 3 gold.

I think this game has finally shot itself in the foot…..even the most ridiculous fanboi would have trouble seeing any use in this ball content…or the birds..sheesh a half gold a bet? Odds of what…1 in 5?

Like the artwork in those huge dragon ghosts though..good job.

Sheesh, I have never, ever, played a game with so much dying in it. It’s expected. It’s part of the “fun”.

I cannot do crab toss despite numerous tries….so the secret is to get a group and take turns letting one win?

So far I hate the crab toss (just can’t twitch anymore), single player dungeon (can’t see what type the bombs are), and queen (can’t count on it working and it’s just plain overkill on the number of mobs…and on queen cant see anything but a screenful of explosions a minute after they actually occur while I’m dead…and why are there 2 pieces of green junk in the chest?)

Never seen an exotic from event….and have only seen greens from the big chest on the ground……out of about 10 kills. Nice to know an exotic can drop…

You know lots of people say they get lots of crates and I’ve seen 3.

Kal— I think you can count on most of a server noticing the flamethrowers sparkling on the ground. This isn’t a single newb on a 1 gig not noticing the obvious.

Queen STILL broken on Santum of Rhall.

Tried that single player instance with the bombs, couldn’t tell what type the bombs they were to disarm them properly… figured it was just another in a slew of bugs and exited.

BTW, why do you make it so hard to travel solo to a solo instance? and why do you release such buggy content? and why do you have content (queen) that takes so many players that most loose all control due to devastating lag and overwhelming visuals … you can’t dodge and what you are trying to dodge happened 1 minute ago….you either die as anything besides a maxed out hardcore warrior or you barely do any damage by staying way back or die and then miss out because you had to release to a portal far away (none by Queen) and just try to run back through all those swarms of mobs in the settlement by the Queen.

The little zergs to get the chests before Queen were fun. Finding all the special little places was fun.

One of the worst events yet overall.

Clouded Judgement—— of course we tried the flamethrowers. We’re talking a server’s worth of players here not being able to kill the nests, not a single newb somewhere that can’t see sparkling flamethrowers and not being able to figure to use them.

well, I admire your dedication to gaming, but glad to see you go….every extreme hardcore that leaves makes this a better game..eventually maybe the devs can actually slow down a little and do a little polishing.

These games cost so much to develope that it is impossible to make money catering to people that will consume 3 months of work in a day. If they cater to you they lose the other 95% because they will not have the time or dedication to survive…and why play if the game just makes you feel bad about yourself?

I’m on santum of rhall (could be mispelled) and queen can’t spawn because all villages cant be controlled because the k nests can’t be destroyed.

Just wondering if the devs even know that that the queen STILL isn’t working on some servers….it’s been over a day now and there has been a patch…..actually it has NEVER worked properly.

As long as a few fools will pay $100’s for “lottery” tickets, these things will show up forever…kind of like those worthless Black lion chests where no keys drop, so a few throw money at keys, but nothing good is in there….most just delete then.

Please …if you ever do listen … remember this..don’t make it all the same… just make it so some can still be very lucky and get something right away, just make it so there are no extremely unlucky players, like add scraps that always drop that eventually can get you what you want so no one quits out of frustration on never getting anything.

*It would be nice if killing the puppying Queen would actually yield something.
*It would be nice if you could survive the puppying battle or have a way to rez or at least a WP nearby to rez to.
*It would be nice if you didn’t have to be far away when she finally pops. People afraid of missing her so they don’t go protect the other settlements.
*If you are going to require that many people for an event you need to figure a way to tone down the effects, good computers can’t handle it.

Yep, there’s one type mob ..a fat lizard type which is everywhere… that is hard to solo with an 80…and if you get an add…and as I said they are everywhere and they roam…best bet is to just run if you are alone.,

…and now with the queen there aere invincibles that can kill you in a couple hits.

This game is quickly becoming only for hardcore guilds that have been here from launch….don’t let your friends join this late

Eventually, you will spend $100 or more in real money and then just buy one. Anet makes a tidy profit, you get some way cool pixels….WIN-kinda WIN situation.

Have separate worlds for hardcore only…..don’t even advertise what cool gear they get to everybody else

(I betcha almost nobody would actually go there… hardcore just like to ask for challenging so they can pretend they are “skilled”.)

This reminds me of every Real Time Strategy game. They all throw in a couple timed (hate timed) first person type things where there is no building up and no collecting resources. You do them ONLY because you need to get to the next chapter.

From listening to chat…NO ONE likes these and the soloists hate having to group to get anything out of it. The whole area is a little tough for anyone other than a hardcore guild where everyone has everything. BUT I like the concept of a living world, maybe the next one will be better.

The maxed-out hardcore crowd with will still finish 3 months of work in less than a day’s play and then wonder why it was too easy. It is economically impossible to keep up with those folks without losing the other 90 % because it is too hard.

Well, perhaps most people simply don’t enjoy near-impossible content. I’ve always thought that extreme hardcore belong in PvP full loot games or FPS on hell mode.

Personnally, I can totally enjoy a game where I win most of the time…I don’t want it so easy that I can go raid the fridge during a fight, but I really don’t need a game anymore where you have to study the game for hours every week to be able to survive in it and usually die over and over and over.

I like levels…I started the game late so just hit 80 and I’m sad..because now I HAVE TO study and read and ask questions for most of my playtime (all that stuff on gear at 80 is overwhelming to absorb all at once, you guys got it spread out and I don’t really see that mystic forge as more than a place to throw things away so far) and then I HAVE TO get in groups just to be able to continue to progress and I HAVE TO worry about being outfitted enough that I don’t harm the group and it’s almost impossible to get groups for the lower level dungeons to have a chance to learn and maybe even enjoy them.

Maybe to you it’s too easy, to me it’s hard, not quite too hard yet, but getting there.

Ok, so I finish everything but the bonfire visit early, didn’t know Arenanet decided to cut the time in half for completion…they replied to lots of concerned players and said it would be back up “tomorrow” to finish the event…wasn’t back up till the day after. Today I heard it was ready to finish.

FINALLY I can finish that 2 month long turkey, go to Lion’s arch and NO mark on map as to where it is. Call out, get a few smartass “answers” but finally find it (it’s where you turned in all the lost items).

Interact and nothing…nothing at all…no cutscene, no buffs, no rewards, no coin, no title, only way you know you were in the right place is that that section is marked done.

That has got to get the reward for the lamest ending to a long event in gaming history.

There were incidences where you could actually be a hero and save the day.
A level was a major achievement and was announced to the zone
No private instances
No guilds
No auction house
Playing merchant-class was considered devoid of honor
Zones and escaping to the zone line yelling “train” that you were coming in hot
Camping
….and best of all, Rangers had the powers to be a real puller, mezzers could actually mez, tanks were actually tanks, and clerics healed and never worried about soloing, and if you threw a snare to save the cleric, the mob always agroed on you. You formed a group, you knew what everyone was going to be doing.

So does anyone know if they ever re-activated the bonfires or whatever so we can finally finish this? and if they did are they marked on the map? If not , where the puppy are they in Lion’s?

Im happy to be upscaled but the best part of being on southsun is the amount of gathering you can do.
thats the part we miss on when upscaled….

Yep..some of us just want to play the game and not really into studying the game or turning our hobby into our top priority. Simplicity is a good thing when it comes to a pastime. The game is what we unwind with after the priorities are completed.

Can we finish that yet? Don’t want to miss it again. (I’m assuming bonfires equals finishing)

What the puppy?

You advertised we had until May 16 to do the epilogue, I logged into game and went to lion’s and looked and looked and couldn’t find where to finish it, so I asked the world and found out you changed the end date.

Logged into forums just now and there was a message that the window to finish it was cut in half….to only 2 days…weekdays…yesturday.

So to the play the game we have to play every day?

(BTW guys, I’m kinda new to this game, … am I wasting my time complaining, and these devs don’t give a puppy over what is fair or what puppies us off and just plain considers themselves Gods who do whatever they want for no reason and we should like it and shut up?) To answer those saying…it’s a MMORPG so grouping should be part of it.

To me, the best thing about GW2 is that you can solo then if you come across other players, you can jump right in and help out without needing the irritation of forming groups for an hour first. You are free to come and go as you please most of the time and still have folks to chat with and help each other out with information.

So for me, I want as little forced grouping as possible..you can get that anywhere from dozens of titles….and yes, I like grouping, I just like freedom to choose more.

Just what is the purpose to have the ending wait a couple weeks and then only be doable for 4 days …. and then not be anything but a cutscene and not have any prize?? Is it your hope to exclude anyone who works or has finals those 4 days for some satanic reason? I have no problem, I’m retired and will probably remember to finish it off in those 4 days…… but I just don’t see the reasoning, if there is any.

(So I can’t stand to have something uncompleted staring at me on my screen every day…. I’m old , I’m entitled to be eccentric)

If dungeons get scaled, I want the rewards to be scaled too. A warrior or mesmer going through the new dungeon or Fractals doesn’t deserve the full amount of tokens and money that a full party gets. Group effort for a group reward.

Why? I guarantee it took him twice as long at least to solo and he had to be very very careful and plan and prepare for every step and use every single attribute in his arsenal.

You and your friends rush through it mostly autoshooting while you run around avoiding the circles on the ground..you die? there’s someone there to rez you. Running out of health, back off and let your buddies take the damage for a bit. Easy sleazy.

Don’t listen to the hardcore kiddies, unless you are ALL max level….this is NOT easy….not even close to easy. All you heroes are declaring it easy to stroke your egos.

In fact it is way too hard for 50 somethings considering that the all the rest of this story was VERY solo and low level (late buyers) so we had the impression that the story was content that allowed for folks who joined the game late and were still leveling and just starting to get decent equipement (not alts).

Hell one or two blows and you’re down. Being brought to max level doesn’t get you the equipement and attributes you need to do this. Yes, I got through it, but spent most of the time on my back dead as the rest of the group were max levels that did the work..barely.

Don’t get me wrong, it may not be my sort of thing, but if others are enjoying it…great! Keep the stuff coming! Fun is the whole idea…only complaint is that the fake looking stuff as prizes should never have been offered…they just don’t fit into the look of the game.

yesturday came across one periscope that wasn’t there….was in correct area, got the red circle…but no periscope and no wreakage of one.

Today I’ve visited the areas for 3 periscopes so far and same thing as yesterday for 2 of them.

I hate these kitten periscopes and wish I had never started doing thm..but did the first 50 thinking 50 was all needed, then it said I needed 100, then150 and have done nothing fun since…just looked for periscopes for days, often coming across some guarded by waaaay too tough mobs that killed me repeatedly.

This game is no longer fun…it’s a long grinding chore in a world that doesn’t always work with too much “challenge” in spurts at odd places for no reason…. and waaay too hard to get money for people that started the game late, definitly not friendly to new players.

(Ok now all you fanbois tell me how you love having periscopes disappear and that I can always do something else for monthly….how you love have too powerful guardians at some of them to kill you so you can’t solo this….I’m sure a couple of you love being knocked down by them too.)

Rant over…I feel better now, I’ll go play a RTS game…those are always fun, always work, and with no luck involved.

Hehe, I’m kinda new and I’m having trouble getting a gold for my level 40 book….I die so much with my light armor alts that I never build up enough…close but not quite.

Game is definitly NOT join-late friendly…some of those periscopes are so heavily guarded as to be impossible.

Some of those are guarded by waaayy too much strength and repop is too fast…added to the knockback, just plain too hard. The game is not populated enough anymore in most areas for low levels to get help so there is way too much dying to be fun on these. ….and 150 is ridiculous.
