I know this is an old topic, but I just had something similar happen to me, I was in the middle of an unranked matchmade, not custom or practice, match and suddenly with no apparent trigger it started loading me into Heart of the Mists. Being experienced in SPvP, I am absolutely sure that this wasn’t a custom arena or practice arena, this was a queued matchmade game albeit unranked. So you’re not crazy and I don’t think you’re mistaken because basically the same thing happened to me and the game loaded me out of the matchmade game with no way back in. Perhaps it could have been a connection issue but I wasn’t experiencing any severe lag during the game and Heart of the Mists loaded quickly and players were behaving unlagged and normally as soon as it loaded. I’m guessing it’s an anomalous bug that’s hard to trace the root cause of.
I don’t know if this has been addressed already or if this was an intentional design decision, but the human version of the Glorious Gauntlets (Heavy) doesn’t have wing attachments on the back of the gauntlets while the other races’ versions do. It seems a little odd so I thought it was a graphical bug that slipped the artists’ notice and figured I’d point it out. If it was for some reason intentional then I can deal with that, although it would be cool to have them on the human gauntlets too.

That would indeed be more convenient, but it would also be more work to implement since there’s no actual way (in the current interface) to select a dye “channel”. It would require changing the dye interface to somehow let you pick a certain channel and set it to active or whatever.
Selecting a dye, though, that’s easy enough because that’s how it already functions.
That’s true. Hopefully they can consider it as an option for a future update though.
One way to make people happy would be to have all our originally-unbound gear that is now soulbound become unbound and give us the option to sell duplicates as necessary. But some gear comes account-bound or soulbound upon receiving it, so those won’t have to be unbound.
So if people wanted two of the same Legendary weapon for just the skin then they can sell one off but if they wanted both to have stat-swapping on both then they can keep both. Same goes for any exotic gear duplicates.
EDIT: Actually now that I remembered a lot of our gear is Transmuted, this might be pretty tough to implement unless people are willing to have their entire history of bound and ’muted unsold/undestroyed gear pop up in their inventory.

From https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/dyes-in-the-new-account-wardrobe/
“you will be able to preview dye colors on your equipped armor by simply selecting a color and moving your mouse over the armor dye channels”
Wouldn’t it be more convenient to do the reverse of that and let us select one or multiple armor channels and let us move our mouse over the various colors so that we can quickly compare colors for the selected parts?
Having all the dyes in the game (‘cept those new Enameled ones, oh boy) and trying to compare them all can be rough y’know? lol jk, pls don’t hate me haha

I just read another thread about people missing out on Living Story rewards. And I can understand the whole thing about missing out on the story because I was on a trip and missed most of Queen’s Jubilee and felt a bit out of the loop for a while afterward. I don’t think this model isn’t very good for everyone. I’ve managed to keep up with most of it, but it sort of feels like a chore… Surely there’s a better way.
I’ve been thinking this same thing, they should make these things available through some other means after the living story chapter is over. Even if it means having to buy it with gems, at least we have an option. I’m also fairly busy with studies so juggling trying to to get these cool living story rewards within a certain time limit is a bit frustrating sometimes.
I’m disappointed with the Queen’s Pavilion thing after the Canthan district was scrapped. The poor street kid human storyline had that girl whose family lived there when it was the Canthan-themed arts district and there was even footage of the place in all its Asian-ness during development, then ANet had to scrap it and collapse it before release because of cultural drama, but the girl in the storyline still made it sound like there was some special mystery behind the collapse which made me think that they were going to actually do something significant with it. But nope they found nothing interesting at the bottom, didn’t give any special reasons for why it happened, and just renovated it into a little battle arena place for the greedy Queen to glorify herself lol. That’s lame.
I don’t have one but it would be cool if people could customize their commander tag. Just sayin. Blue Dorito is ok but it’s starting to look stale. And stale Doritos are a bummer.
Bad idea. A global damage nerf just makes everything harder for everyone.
What’s the point of having Ascended gear if you’re going to just nerf everybody anyway?
If your complaint about people with lots of toughness getting downed quickly is truly valid and not just something made up then they should consider a global defense/damage-mitigation buff on players, not a global damage nerf to make everything in PvE harder causing us all to spend more gold dying and repairing, more time trying to kill a boss, and more resources grinding along the gear treadmill. Boooooo.

It would be nice for us to be able to do that, but I think part of the game mechanic is that the newest condition applied gets removed for general condition removal/conversion skills. So it seems like there is a specific order to how they are removed, but you can’t prioritize by your own choosing. As a result, there are skills and traits that target removing certain conditions and these are meant to be equipped for those specific purposes.
Geez that’s messed up. I’ve run into pricks on dungeons and fractals but stuff like kicking that warrior from fractals is truly disgusting.
Is there a way to see whether or not the game has counted whether you’ve completed a Fractal tier daily run?
The reason I ask is not simply because I’ve forgotten whether I’ve run a tier but because I am fairly certain that I did not run the 11-20 tier and my personal level is already 24 or so, so I know I’m eligible for it, but the daily chest did not pop up in the corner of the screen after we killed Jade Maw on a level 12 full run. And since it took so long for Dessa to give the concluding remark and automated exit checkscreen someone clicked the “Exit” option instead of waiting for that. Even though I selected “no”, everybody else selected “yes” so we got booted out and I didn’t get my daily chest for that tier.
But I am almost certain that I didn’t run that tier! The only way I would be able to verify is if there were some way to see whether or not the game has flagged me as having run that tier already for the day. Is there a a way to check that?
I took a two-month-long voluntary break from the game around autumn. I took a break mainly because it was hurting my performance in school since I’d become a bit obsessed with getting my daily and laurels and getting the Living Story achievements and rewards done within the deadline. During that time my guild kinda died out for reasons I don’t quite understand. I’m still a member but I’m kinda wandering between other guilds that take me on as a temp for guild missions. However, as a proud original Blackgate launch player and WvW militia member, I can say my world population seems to have risen due to our popularity in WvW so it still feels somewhat crowded if you visit here. Then again, most of the crowd in LA are TP flippers, people standing around like pretty statues, and guildmates ERPing (ok maybe not quite, but close), so you’re not missing much.
I think progression and rewards in SPvP are much slower than PvE. Do a lot of difficult work fighting other players, but don’t go up much in rank, don’t get PvE loot, rarely get new armor, etc. Meanwhile PvE can crank out these kinds of rewards and progression relatively quickly and feels like a better use of time. I mainly use SPvP to practice WvW builds and most of my PvP is done in WvW which gives good rewards (Loot Bags Inc.)
If the Ascended armor and weapon skins looked more visually appealing, people would accept them for being highly-desirable skins with almost negligible stat increases rather than “meh” skins with a focus on stat increases lol.
I enjoy using a dungeon runner warrior with shout heal trait, soldier runes to clear conditions, and lower shout cooldown trait (I think warriors have mostly lower shout cooldowns than Guards and Rangers so we work really well with this rune and these traits). Trait a warhorn and you’ll clear conditions on your group very often while getting decent life-saving heals from the shouts. It’s basically a lot like that “Sonic Boom” warrior build but I’ve used it since before I heard about that. It’s not a dedicated healer class at all but I can still do a fair amount of damage, tank well, and offer great support with periodic condition removal and group-healing, which is nice since it’s good to be able to shift gears as a jack-of-all-trades in case other group members die. I tend to go with Soldier, Knight, or Celestial stats for a good mix of defense and offense. But if you equip Celestial stuff as a warrior, make sure you can make frequent use of the Healing Power and Condition Damage, I recommend the shout heals and longbow to do so.

I got my Gift of Exploration long before all the other stuff… Over half a year ago maybe, and I’m still not done getting everything for my first legendary. But I can understand your issue with the character slots. Maybe an alternative recipe to make the Gift of Mastery? Don’t change the original recipe for everybody though.
Dear ArenaNet,
Please let us salvage our extra/duplicate Ascended trinkets that we currently can’t do much to get some number of the three basic Ascended crafting mats: Bloodstone Dust, Empyreal Fragments, and Dragonite Ore. These materials are account-bound so it wouldn’t result in much economic imbalance if such a salvaging system to make some use of our duplicate trinkets (rings looted in fractals especially) were implemented.
Also, because some people have a harder time obtaining certain Ascended crafting mats yet have tons of other Ascended crafting mats, I think it would be good to give us a Mystic Forge recipe to convert them.
For example, some people say they have a hard time getting Empyreal Fragments because they hardly run dungeons meanwhile I have tons of Emp Frags but hardly any Dragonite.
I for one have a hard time running temples to get Dragonite Ore, mainly because the temple raid zergs are so massive that even on lowest settings they cause my computer to drop to a near-unplayable framerate, or crash the game, or cause a bug where my skills no longer work until I relog (this has happened twice on separate occasions, both temple raids and when I relog, the map during the raid is so full that I end up in overflow and because of the bug I got no credit because I couldn’t use skills to hit anything during the main event). I enjoy running dungeons though, because they only require 5 people in my party and I have no problems playing them. My computer is fairly above the minimum specs advertised to play, so telling me to buy a new computer is fine and well, and I plan to, but it’s still a part of the game that should be fixed and improved.
But I digress, a way to convert the three basic ascended mats would help people find a bit of use for their extra stacks and also give people who have a very hard time getting one of the mats a better chance at using their other hard-earned Ascended mats to get it.
To make sure that prices on the TP don’t go nuts in the process, it might be a good idea to just use crafting mats with locked prices like Thermocatalytic Reagents.
Throw that into the Mystic Forge with some other stuff, a stack of the Ascended material to convert from, and some variable item in the recipe to choose which other Ascended material to convert it into, hand it over to the Random Number Generator, and then it spits out something like 50-100 of the desired material or something like that.
Please consider these suggestions, thank you for reading.
I was thinking seriously about this issue, and it’s one of the few things I am most bothered about, because spending 420g for a stack of an item whose obtainment methods are extremely limited due to lack of foresight by developers feels ludicrous even if I had the gold, which I don’t anyway…
I’ve parked 3 alts lvl20+ at jumping puzzles in Lions Arch and been looting the chests everyday with each for almost a month now and I’ve gotten a whopping 2 silver doubloons so far.
So my idea is this: In order to decrease the price of Silver Doubloons on the TP, we have to inject more supply into the economy and at the same time make it less profitable for flippers to flip.
To make it less profitable, this means that we need to keep demand low, so buy orders should always be used rather than immediate buys, and the buy order prices should be kept to a minimum, only outbidding by a copper coin if anything. Of course that requires a degree of cooperation from competitors on the market that is difficult to rely on, so let’s move on to the next part, injecting more into the economy.
To inject more Silver Doubloons into the market, parking alts at JPs is one way to help, albeit it’s very boring and slow and restricts the use of alts. The next way is a little bit extreme and somewhat silly but it’s the big thing I want to bring up:
MESMER PORTALS.
Now one of my alts at the end of a jumping puzzle happens to be a mesmer with the portal skill, so every now and then I use that mesmer to port people to the chest at Troll’s End in Lion’s Arch. Unfortunately for our purposes, Silver Doubloons only drop for people within a certain range of levels, roughly 20-30.
But basically, if we could somehow get more mesmers to portal to JPs, get more level 20s to do JPs, find ways to get more level 20s actively playing GW2 rather than old fart level 80s sitting around looking pretty, and more people looting JP chests with their alts, etc. we might be able to make a dent in the price!
Or we keep our voices heard and hope ANet realizes how ridiculous this all sounds lmao. Anyway, Happy New Year! May it bring many Silver Doubloons to all!
EDIT: One more thing, the new Magic Find system seems to have increased MF during the majority of playtime for people overall, but unfortunately it doesn’t affect loot from JP chests. However, it should allow Heavy Miner’s Bags and other monster-dropped loot containers that might possibly contain Silver Doubloons to be dropped more often, so everybody make sure to farm Dredge genocidally. The Shiverpeak variety should go extinct around mid-July hopefully. From there we will move on to Skritt and raid their loot bags as well. What a bright and happy 2014!

I see, thanks for the replies. I figure silk won’t ever drop to its old price again but hearing that it should at least drop below 1s in a matter of months sounds good.
Can anyone experienced with markets advise me whether or not Silk Scraps will these go down in price to about 50 copper within the first half of 2014? Or will it likely stay at around this 1silver+ price for the rest of 2014?
I don’t know too much about the market but I know that some items have permanently skyrocketed in value and seem to be staying around their new price level for the long-term since Anet is satisfied with their current TP prices, like Silver Doubloons and precursors and whatnot.
I’m wondering if the new price of Silk Scraps are likely to be at roughly this 1silver+ level for the long term, considering the whole idea behind the Ascended crafting ratios was to boost their TP value, OR if after the early crafting craze, they might fall below 1 silver within the next half-year or so?
The stat boosts on ascended armors aren’t that big of a deal anyway. The full set takes like a month to make due to time-gating and gives 47-60 more defense pts and and 36 more stat pts. Barely a game-changer. The effect on WvW will be so trivial that hardly any players will care much later on.
Fresh made ss in 30/24/0/0/16 (24 in arms to avoid extra dmg on bleeding) no slashing power/axe mastery. Olny forceful gs
I usually use the Forceful Greatsword and the 10% damage to bleeding foes which does a lot of damage when comboed with Whirlwind and Rush, especially on reduced cooldowns, but Axe does a lot of dmg even untraited so it’s definitely stronger than I thought.
\Or add new weapon types that can compete with GS melee PvE damage.
Axe says hi. And no, i don’t mean the shower gel. Olny hb is strong on gs in terms of dps anyway, rest is meh
Axe is great if ur specced to burst but otherwise it’s not that great when u can use HB and Rush (which does moderately good burst damage and doesn’t take much longer to cast at point blank than an axe leap) and if you get them in a corner or against the wall and cast whirlwind so that you spin in place, giving them the full brunt of Whirlwind dishes out about 1/3rd of Hundred Blade’s total damage in less than half the time.
If you’re not specced to either burst nor greatsword traits, you’ll still most likely get a lot more damage from Greatsword.
Um..how to say i completely disagree with what u said here? GS aa is so weak to the point that even hammer has highter dps, the olny weaker weapon (slighty) is mace.
Hb won’t make up for weak aa of gs, while axe aa is about 90% dps of hb on no cd. For some reason i killing stuff much faster with axe than gs (check even my trained 1h sword kills faster), and im not trained for axe by any means.
GS is still way better with crowds and that’s what most dungeons throw at you and axe AA does more than GS AA but doesn’t do that much damage compared to HB from what I see.
My result from testing 3 weeks ago says something different (trained gs vs non trained axe) also axe aa was done just right in time the stun expired, while hb has still need a moment to land last hit. Btw. It is all about high risk vs high reward when its comes hb in pvp.
Hmm all right, I’ll go see for myself.
All right I untraited everything and HB hits for 5579, GS AA combo hits for 1895, axe AA combo hits for 3937. I underestimated axe’s dps. I’ll try it out in dungeons.

Axe is great if ur specced to burst and only fighting one mob but otherwise it’s not that great when you can use HB to hit multiple mobs and Rush on a single mob(which does moderately good burst damage and doesn’t take much longer to cast at point blank than an axe leap) and if you get them in a corner or against the wall and cast whirlwind so that you spin in place, giving them the full brunt of Whirlwind dishes out about 1/3rd of Hundred Blade’s total damage in less than half the time and hits multiple mobs too.
If you’re not specced to either burst nor greatsword traits, you’ll still most likely get a lot more damage from Greatsword. If you are specced to GS, then the stacks of might you get from hitting stationary PvE mobs and especially crowds can reach like 15+ stacks with Signet of Rage and Great Justice. If the enemies moved around a lot, spread out from each other, frequently blocked attacks, or behaved like players, the burst from axe would probably be better, but the fact that they just crowd together, stand there, and take everything easily makes GS the most faceroll melee PvE weapon.
(edited by Arnekun.6170)
After the nerf, hammer will only be good for PvP/WvW… Just make the PvP damage different from the PvE damage like with the Axe 5 skill. Hammer and mace are supposed to be CC-based weapons but there aren’t many mobs in PvE that are meaningful to use them on. All the PvE boss mobs are immune to CC without ripping off lots of Defiant stacks first or the CC is not worth the damage trade when they stand still and can get hit for oodles more damage by Hundred Blades. Doesn’t it get repetitive using GS all the time in PvE? Or add new weapon types that can compete with GS melee PvE damage.

I think the current permanent rank finishers should be available to earn even after the ranks are gone through the new reward system… I don’t think people should have to worry about losing a cool finisher just because their position on the ladder fell.
Tested it in the Mists with a warrior with 100% crit and dual axes (auto-attack fairly frequently, fast-hitting spin skills) with Superior Sigil of Blood on each (which is supposed to be 51% proc).
Lowered my HP by getting PvP opponent to attack me, then ran away to target golems while still in combat mode with low HP, no other passive heals. Constantly hit target golems and used skill with long cooldown timer to measure time elapsed between procs. Generally managed to proc in the first or second hit when engaging so the 51% proc calculation for dual sigils seems correct.
Results: The internal cooldown on the Sigil of Blood’s proc is definitely above 2 seconds and seems to be 5 seconds just like the wiki note says. So either it’s bugged or the tooltip is wrong.
My assumption is that the devs who handle item bugs either don’t know or don’t feel compelled to fix it at the moment…
They should probably just give more Fine and Normal Transmutation Stones per Gems rather than try to adjust the Gold per Gems price. I think that’s reasonable.
Have the devs said anything about Azurite or Sentinel crafting materials being made available again?
I was aiming for Juggernaut too… but I hadn’t even checked the prices on these doubloons in months and never realized they went up… Now it costs something like 450+ gold for a full stack… lol I actually felt like I was getting close with all the gold and mats and other gifts I accumulated…
I don’t want to complain… but that feeling… that feeling of hope being obliterated in a single moment… It’s so brutal. I guess I should pay attention to the TP more… I’m gonna take a break from this legendary business…
(edited by Arnekun.6170)
I think it’s implementing too many Hammer Warrior nerfs at one time. Hammer’s gonna be near useless in solo PvE if you’re not specced to damage. Just implement the Unsuspecting Foe and Burst Mastery nerfs and leave the hammer skills alone, that way the bursty PvP Hammer warrs still get nerfed while not affecting PvE Hammer users as much.
I have a piece of PvP Scaled Armor (the set that looks like Draconic Armor) that I was wearing and planning to switch for something else. After I unequipped it, I tried to right-click it and select “Deposit Collectible” but the option was grayed out. I looked into my PvP locker and found that there are no storage spaces for PvP Scaled Armor. Is this a bug? Has this armor been removed from PvP lockers? I’m pretty sure this isn’t one of those free pieces of basic armor, players get these as rewards, so there should be a space for them right?
If the tickets could be traded on the TP it would even out for people who haven’t gotten them… Some of those people who have contributed to the drop rate research bought hundreds or thousands of coffers and didn’t get a ticket. Please don’t make ignorant suggestions.
The list is the opposite of the argument of the thread title…
For me, it was using hammer and the old Leg Specialist trait that allowed me to 1v1 invisibility spamming thieves. Otherwise it was just a terrible idea to 1v1 them. The downside for those thieves that specialize in cloaking was that the only great thing they could bring to zerg fights was finishing downed players off while cloaked. New Leg Specialist sucks a lot though. 1 second immobilize on cripple limited to 1 target per 5 seconds, it’s not worth a major trait slot.
I noticed that Evening Grass and Evergreen dyes have different colored square icons but show up as the exact same color in armor dye slot rectangles and on the in-game armor models themselves. Or maybe I’m very slightly colorblind. Not really a big issue, but I doubt it’s intentional and perhaps we can get a color we might be missing.
I don’t mean to bother other people who haven’t been fortunate, but for the sake of knowledge, I got a ticket on my 155th regular coffer or so. I think this is terribly lopsided as I’ve heard of people opening thousands and even spending large sums of money and not getting any. As thankful as I am, I really don’t like this sad RNG box system…
I would encourage people who are willing to spend money to stick to regular coffers though. The rich coffers seem to be a ripoff, and the chances between them and the regulars don’t seem like enough compared to the price. If anything use the gems to convert to gold to buy regulars from the TP. For 80 gems ($1 worth) you get about 1.71 gold, which is about 85 regular boxes. So rather than spending $10 on 10 rich coffers, I think it’s better to buy about 850+ regular boxes from TP. I personally don’t want to support this kind of gambling in the gem store, but for those who really intend to gamble real money, please consider this advice. I hope everyone is able to get tickets.

Soo…. just finished what’s available of the story… and lol it’s basically what you’d expect. I think the most unexpected part was that she stuck around practically asking to be arrested after she was first cleared hahaha.
Is Mai Trin a villain?
Will ArenaNet and NCSoft keep doing bad RNG Gambling Boxes?

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rich_Dragon_Coffer/drop_rate
Out of 214 Rich Dragon Coffers opened by 8 different people (not me, haven’t bought any of these) as of now…. 0 tickets.
Even though I don’t intend to buy these, I wouldn’t have imagined the drop rate on the gem coffers could be this horrendous…
If we take that the price of each Rich Dragon Coffer is $1 each at lowest, that’s $214 spent and not even one Dragon’s Jade Claim Ticket? That’s disgusting.
And let’s be honest, the weapon ticket is the only particularly desirable thing in those coffers. Even junk like those mobile consortium tool things and the Karka potions and the Halloween potions are more like a slap in the face than a consolation prize.
Wow… I honestly feel sorry for those 8 people that collectively spent $214 for trash, because it seems like for every person winning out there, there’s another 10 losing as ArenaNet and NCSoft happily rake in the profits.
ArenaNet and NCSoft, this is just wrong. I’m sorry, I didn’t want to badmouth you, and I like this game a lot. But I’ve held out on saying this for long enough. These RNG boxes are a greedy scheme of blatantly misleading marketing and taking advantage of gambling psychology. And I’m glad that I haven’t spent much on these RNG boxes, but I’ve had enough of reading about people getting screwed over when spending large sums of money on these things and getting squat. These are people supporting you with money and it’s like you’re laughing at them since you already know that getting anything of value from these boxes is apparently miniscule.
I had high hopes for the MMO that was trying to eliminate the faults and lame parts of other MMOs and was trying to do things right. But I guess that was just preparation for stuff like this. If I knew that this is what it has to come to in order to keep the servers running, then I wouldn’t have bothered supporting you by buying your stuff on the gem store since it’s obviously just chump change compared to what you make off of luring in gambling addicts. Companies like you, casinos and banks with schemes like you, and the suckers you take advantage of… You are a part of the reason for society’s problems.
I can’t support your gem store like this. I think you’ve already gotten a large enough cut from those people that got suckered into your sickening RNG box scheme. Your weapon designs are getting worse anyway.
Go ahead and blacklist me, watching businesses intentionally doing stuff like this ticks me off.

I really want to thank those of you who are posting the results from the coffers, especially the “Rich” Dragon Coffers that are basically have the same chances as the Southsun crates. As a result of the information here, I will not buy any RNG coffers with such ridiculous odds for this event or any future events. And now I can safely save up for a PS4 lol.
Only the greatsword and shield look nice anyway, so don’t feel bad!
Thank You GW2 community!
No Thank You ArenaNet!
Crab Toss Champion Daily Achievement and Crabgrabber are still confirmed stuck. Doesn’t this event end in a couple days? What’s going to happen?
same problem, crabgrabber stuck at 90/100
So it’s still broken right now?
I hope we get a random fusion weapon in our mail when we do finally get back online ) I suspect this is quite bad so im guessing another 5 hours.
Well, a fused ticket or sclerite ticket in our mail when we get back would be a great way to make the community happy…
Thank you for the post, it’s good to see some real statistics. I was considering buying a few BLC keys to get a fused weapon, but now I don’t think I will be. I still remember the BLC Halloween skin chances were terrible, I’m not getting sucked into that again.
