There was an achievement for it in 2012.

Since 2013 its not part of the Halloween meta (no achievement for it as well).

I would like to have an achievement for it, to reward those who can complete the JP.

However, meta reward should be accessible for those not want to do / not able to do the JP. It is exceptionally hard compared to the others.
Maybe, there could be 20 achievement in the meta, but you would need to complete only 18 for the max reward…

That’s 22 points without doing fractals, dungeons, JPs, LS achievements, difficult bosses or rare spawns. And that’s easily enough to max out Pact Commander (19 needed).

As for Fractal Attunement, it pays for itself in terms on MP’s…11 needed, 14 available. Most of the time I get these by accident, asking the group if we could work towards it, or creating a LFG stating it was a MP run. But if you don’t do fractals, this line is useless to you and you can ignore it.

Legendary crafting is a funny one… to craft a precursor, you will need to do lots of different content (Fractals, JPs, specific champs/events, specific achievements, mini dungeons, max level crafting) If you think getting the MPs required to max this mastery out is too much, precursor crafting is more of the same but arguably much harder and definitely more expensive. As someone who has crafted Dusk, I can guarantee the MP requirement is only a mild obstacle in the grand scheme of precursor crafting. If this crafting process doesn’t appeal to you, you can ignore this mastery line too.

TLDR:
Core Tyria masteries ARE tuned to your gameplay preferences:
Pact Commander for everyone: enough easy MPs
Fractal Attunement for the fractal runners: enough MPs in fractals
Legendary Crafting: crafting process requires you to do lots of different and sometimes annoying/difficult content, thus reflected in the remaining MPs coming from all sorts of content (some of which are annoying/difficult)

I bought Dawn on TP and created Sunrise for my mesmer.

Some weeks later, I got a precursor drop (Spark) from lvl 10 molten bro fractal chest.

I have 1300 hours in the game,

Until Spark, I got nothing valuable (say worth more than 10 gold) from drops.

There are 66 central mastery points available, and you need 49 to unlock all of them. You don’t have to do the super grindy/pricey ones (rare collections, wardrobe, etc…)

I’ve unlocked all central masteries, and still have 8 points. And i’m a casual player, playing solo 95% of the time (1200 hours in game since launch).

Sure, you need to play certain content to get the points.
If you don’t like that content, don’t play it.
You are not required to unlock all mastery tracks to play this game.
Actually, the only things which requires mastery unlock are the HOT legendaries. Lets just leave them to the hardcore guys who can grind the game for 2000 hours.
All Central Tyria content can be done without any mastery.

GW1 had no jumping and people were whining and crying about it.

lol i spent like 4 hours doing that SW JP some months ago…

it seems now that it was a waste of time …

ANet could:
- disable gliding in JPs, all of them (and maybe portals, portal guns, jump shots etc)
- remove mastery points and other “must have” content from JPs (wintersday hunting quest?)
- add some alternative rewards for doing JPs

I agree that this one is hard, but after all, there should be some hard content in the game.

It is an optional content, if you find it hard, just do something else. Most of the JPs are super easy to do.

I like challenges, so I had a lot of fun doing Not So Secret.

you can craft each precursor only once per account

There are too many posts about the legendary/precursor prices…

Many many players already have legendaries, so they are not at all that legendary

dusk is about ~1200-1300 gold on TP, so maybe it is still cheaper to craft it rather than buy from TP

I like when people complaining about how hard (costly?) Dusk is to get. Actually, its not that hard, since I see a LOT of people running around with Twilights. There’s nothing legendary about it when I do a run in a lvl 20-30 fractal and 4 of 5 people has either Sunrise or Twilight.

Anet, its time for new legendaries Swords plz….

you can play all core game related content with f2p

restrictions you mentioned are necessary to protect the game from abuse by gold sellers, trolls, etc, who would create an endless number of f2p accounts to ruin the game

if you like it, buy it and support the devs

open gear bags (I use SW gear bags) with low lvl character (I use 55) and salvage the gear you receive

Same issue here, most of the time the message is “world is full”
Sometimes the JP starts to load, but after 2-3 seconds the loading is changed to DR and i’m returned to the city.

i’ve lost some achivement points, the original shadow of the mad king APs from 2012 are seems to be missing from the historical section…

Very Good job. Thats what I would call it. And people should not forget, that all this content is for free…
