Oh, Anet did give me the same link that you listed. What I really need is to speak to someone directly. After I submitted a ticket to Anet I sent a reply asking for clarification. Anet sent me the links with articles. But that just added to my confusion. This is why I’m reaching out in Forum. I feel in over my head.

I just replaced the modem/router for my internet service. As in previous times when I’ve used a different IP address, I expected to get an email authentication. I didn’t get one. At this point I’ve submitted tickets to Anet Support for all five of my husbands and mine GW2 accounts, so Anet is working this issue.

As a result of this situation, I took a closer look at the ways of receiving authentication messages from Anet. The problem is, I don’t have a cell phone. I prefer to not get calls at my house – I’m often working on things like this late at night when my husband is asleep. The articles written by Anet about methods of receiving authentication codes has me terribly confused. The terminology used to explain the new system is loaded with jargon I am not familiar with.

So, how does someone receive authentication codes when they don’t own a cell phone, doesn’t want calls at home, doesn’t own a tablet, is using Windows 10 and doesn’t want the expense of paying for an app that can be designated to received authentication codes from GW2? (I’m not entirely sure if I’ve summarized that correctly -> confused.) Any suggestions?

I haven’t done much pvp. I’m participating in current tournament. I like the rating system as it provides me an insight to how well I play. Problem is, I am pretty embarrassed at how low my rating is and I am not getting better. With each match I feel I am failing my team.

I want to improve my play. I read posts but the jargon is over my head – I’m noob. I’ve been using a Mesmer with a build of my own. I think I should drop Mesmer altogether and try another profession. Any advice? Is there a better starting prof/build?

I predominantly play pve. At this point I feel I should just not play pvp. I don’t want to walk away from it yet. I’d appreciate positive suggestions.

I bought nine encryption keys from BUY-4373 in the fractal lobby. Instead I got nine 20-charge Ascended Salvage kits. The salvage kits cost 20 gold each. This was a bug, not a mistaken purchase. The screen on BUY-4373 that sells encryption keys only sells these keys. And, you have to confirm the purchase before it is completed. This was extremely upsetting. Most game bugs are annoying, but this bug took over 1/3 of the gold in my account. These kits salvage ascended items. It could be years before I come across 180 ascended items I want to salvage, so they are a total waste. They are account bound so I can’t resell them on BLT or to a vendor. It is a total loss from my account.

I think Anet should fix account losses caused by a bug in their game. The way I look at it, 180 gold is equivalent to about $15, if you use the gem <> gold exchange available through the Black Lion Traders. My response as a customer is to not spend cash (dollars) purchasing items on Guild Wars until I have recouped Anets mistake. So, the new glider wings that cost 700 gems…I’ll wait until they go on sale. And, so on until I have been refunded the value of the gold I lost. This is the only way I can see of making things right.

I did submit a bug report several days ago, but that doesn’t seem to fix the damage to my account.

I too received a letter stating I “had not earned GWAMM” and this title and any “unearned HoM honors” were being removed. I worked my tail off getting both GWAMM and HoM. So, this has to be a bug.

I have crafted scribe items that have disappeared from the Guild Treasury. This has happened several times. I make an item (like a sphere topiary, or green balloon) and they disappear immediately. By “immediately” I mean the moment after I craft it. By “disappear” I mean they do not go into the Guild decoration storage, even though these items should show up there. I DO have guild permissions as a decorator (another guildie is designated as a decorator and they do not have problems, in fact, they found all the 20+ green balloons I made. I hope someone can explain why this is happening.

Scribing is very expensive. Furthermore, there are legendary precursor items that have to be crafted by a scribe. This is very frustrating.

I’d like to be able to adjust the settings for the Buy and Sell sections of the new version of the BLT. Specifically, I am not seeing all of the offers listed. I know I am selling items for a price that are not shown on the “Sell” list. I prefer to see the full range on both the Sell and Buy lists so I can gauge what price I want to sell and what price I want to offer on a purchase.

I’ve read the information on the new way mini’s will be stored in the Sept 9 patch. I’m confused about what happens to multiple mini’s. Will I lose and duplicate mini’s when I unlock them? I often sell duplicate mini’s stored in my bank. Do I lose these mini’s? And, when I buy mini-pets from Anet, what happens to duplicates? Can I still sell them on BLT? Are mini’s disappearing from BLT “for sell” section?

Is there an end-date to complete the Gates of Maguuma achievements? I just started working on them today (Jul 31). I am not receiving the achievements for ones I’ve completed. In particular, “No Stone Unturned” is straight forward achievement. I found and destroyed all four. Yet, I didn’t get credit for completing this achievement. Is this a bug? Am I doing something wrong? I’ve checked wiki and Dulfy for information on these achievements, but didn’t find anything addressing this kind of issue. Suggestions?

Is anyone else experiencing a zero (0) drop rate of mystic clovers out of the mystic forge? I’ve tried over 50 times tonight and did not receive one mystic clover. According to previous research, the drop rate should be about 30 percent. I made the clovers once before and 30% was about right. This is the only way to get these clovers. I didn’t see a “bug” report on wiki’s link on making the clovers. This is completely stopped any attempt for me to make a legendary weapon. Furthermore, I have wasted a lot of ecto, shards, skill points and coins.

I would like a way to track which dungeon paths / and bosses I’ve completed each day. Many times I’ve done a challenge twice in one day, so I don’t get the end chest. It’s a little frustrating. I’d be nice if the hero panel had a screen noting which bosses/dungeons I’ve completed for the day.

I occasionally run across people I add to my friends list, but later I don’t recall why. Some folks are new to game and I’ve befriended them loosely. Other folks were fun doing dungeons or frac, etc. I wish the friends list had some way to identify the person beyond their toon name. This happens to me a lot (I’m terrible w/names). Any suggestions?

I want to reiterate, there are good reasons for going to mega-servers. But, none-the-less, it’s made the bosses into just chest grabs. Now all I have to do is follow a few simple rules: 1) spam skill #1; 2) don’t use melee because someone in a zerg that size uses a knock-back skill and my computer can’t re-catch (tabbing catches every foe except the one I want, and clicking on it w/my mouse is difficult on my small screen) the boss fast enough; 3) don’t bother doing pre-events – the zergs just mow them down. The point I’m making is: 1) no challenge if all I have to do is spam one skill; 2) zerg sizes affect whether you can even get a hit on the boss, let alone try to work on DPS; 3) the pre-events were part of the challenge and they offered drops. I haven’t seen Arah, Eye, Dwayna, etc event since mega server started.
As for the suggestion of doing dungeons for a limited size instead of the bosses. Sooooo, the alternative to a couple hundred people sized zerg is the 5 person dungeon party? Dungeons are fine … if you know the speed run. It’s reminiscent of the GW1 UW speed run dilemma: you’re kicked from the party if you don’t know how to do the dungeon; but, you can’t learn the dungeon if you don’t get to practice. Participation in dungeons depends on finding people willing to teach how to do them.
I don’t expect any real fix for this. I guess I’m just venting.

I know there are good reasons for Anet to set up the mega-servers. However, after a week I find the boss events are extremely dull. The zerg size has destroyed the fun of these events. They are just a run, hope you get a hit in before the boss is downed – so you can get the chest and move on to next boss. Even the pre-events are too crowded as well. I’ve tried going at later hours but the zergs are still ridiculously large. Then there is the reduced drop rate in the boss chests as a way of compensating for eliminating the armor repair costs. Talk about a double whammy. The zergs look like the ones I see on WvW. They have so many people you don’t see the characters, only the names. They are no longer challenging and you get very few drops. And the temple events are non-existent. Is there any possible way to limit the zerg size?

I would like to see a change in grouping servers for competing in WvW. Currently Sea of Sorrows server places extremely low compared to all the other servers we compete against. I have seen people bail SoS to join a server that is more WvW oriented. Please understand, this is not a criticism of the SoS WvW players. As far as I can tell (admittedly I am not skilled in WvW or PvP) SoS has a great number of enthusiastic and skilled players. My purpose is two-fold.
First, mapping is almost impossible. SoS is overmatched in the servers we play against. For months I have tried getting the last 2 poi’s and 2 vistas I need for map completion. I take a number of methods to get these spots. Friends suggest I play at 2 or 3 or 4 am. I don’t have that option. So, a friend who plays through the night called me at 5 am saying SoS had taken the section I need. That section was lost before I could log-on to my computer. I am not leeching – waiting for the areas to be captured. I try to help capture these areas when I see SoS invading the general sections of the map that I need. I go to WvW at reset every week (another suggestion someone gave me). I check the scores regularly to see if SoS has control of a reasonable percentage of the areas. I have added the names of commanders I’ve seen who appear to be really good to my “friends” list to see if they are playing. I don’t know what else to do. If SoS was competing against servers more closely matched, it would still take participation, but at least I would have a chance.
Secondly, for me, it’s discouraging to play anything competitive if you aren’t in a balanced “league”. I would enjoy playing WvW if we were grouped against servers closer to the SoS skill level. I’ve played for kicks and mostly feel kicked-around. Looking up WvW builds help, but competition with others closer in the SoS skill level is a big help, too.
Any thoughts?

I cannot find the date Living World events conclude. Particularly, I would like to know the deadline for Living World achievements. I searched wiki links and can only find the “release date”. Does anyone know where this information can be found?

GW2 Wiki states both the glue and the stuffing needed to make the wintersday mini-pets can be acquired out of Giant Wintersday gifts. Please correct or clarify.
