Guild Wars 2

Hi all, need help. I tried GW2 early on and gave up, was so used to the trinity. In GW1 I loved the monk for healing, with WoD disc priest, so I guess I love support / heals. I know this game is different, is there a class for support…Im totally clueless what to play. Any direction is greatly appreciated. Its been a while.

How bout actual guild wars?

This is honestly a call for help. What am I missing? The game looks great, the events are fun, but something is missing and I know it is my fault and not the games. I’ve started 3 toons, a charr engineer, a norn ranger, and my favorite a human Ele. I used to love to craft in another game with pandas, and I’m hoping for that here but it seems I’m doing something wrong. I hate the feeling of running event to event to level. I want an immersive experience and I know its there because I read about so many of you having great experiences. Can anyone offer any real advice or guidance? Does it come later in the game? I don’t think I’m that impatient, I have 4 kids ranging from 21 to 5 so I get patience, but you never know. thanks in advance.

The title says it all. I am trying to figure out why they have horns. I see no use for them and to me they don’t fit with the cat theme. I wish there was a face with no horns. Does anyone know why the horns or is there lore? In GW1 I thought Charr were cow related.

I have a Charr Engineer. Cat on steroids with a flamethrower and explosives? (gives me chills) I wish I could sound intillectual and say its their views.etc. but no its how cool he looks with the guns.

My Charr is all white, with the smallest horns I could put on it. The only reason I did it is I want the darkest colored armor I can get to contrast. This is my first Charr toon, the next will have variation. I haven’t seen another albino one in the zone I’m in but I"m only lvl 14.

Well my duo core 6600 bit the dust. Time for new. I’ve heard that GW2 is really tough on the CPU. I have an EVGA GTX 550 TI vid card which is new and I am looking to replace the Motherboard, Processor and Memory (Machine currently doesn’t POST and the power supply tests out good. (Corsair 650 W) I"m not trying to endorse or speak negatively of any item below. So my question….I don’t really have an intel budget right now but I am looking at:

MSI 990FXA-GD80V2 motherboard

AMD FX-6300 Vishera 3.5GHz (4.1GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 95W Six-Core processor

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 × 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Memory

Anyone have any advice? I love GW2 and I want to see it run smooth. I haven’t built a rig in about 5 years so I"m rusty and catching up. I’ve talked to other folks and they have told me to avoid the 8 cores due to heat. I’m air cooling, I don’t trust my abilities for water cooling but the 6300 has decent ratings. What do you think?

So my daughter decided she wanted to get back in to Guild Wars….she played an Assassin/Ranger I think it was. (a while back) Well she needed to get herself a computer first and she purchased a decked out Alienware M14X….she has no bills and makes good money and its what she wanted. So she and I were talking and we would like to get your suggestions for what class would be fun. The thief seems way different to me…I was thinking Asura Guardian.

That is my quandry. I also fail to see how they can coexist peacefully at all since it seems they would covet worship. To rp one seems like it would be difficult and make my charachter in the eyes of others dillusional. I like the angle you brought up with the charr and will think on it. thanks

Im new to rp and I have a hard time with the six gods. The charr are atheists by choice
but to me it seems they acknowledge their existence. So I guess my question is can you rp as an atheist with the other races as well. Thoughts and guidance?

Some good points, I’m sure some fixes are being worked on but it may take time. I think I would wait until after Christmas to accomodate growth before consolidating servers. I like what he said though he loves the game and wasn’t taking a negative approach. I also liked the fact that that he offered constructive suggestions for solutions. I still think its a young game and it needs time to age.

As soon as my computer is up I can’t wait to get back in. The best game out right now. I always hate the game is dying threads. This game has so much potential; people complain about it being buggy I just don’t see it, it’s a baby compared to the Azerothian mammoth, can you imagine where this game will be in a year? Stay positive this game is not dying.

I wish I could move the big red dot in the middle. It’s personal preference but I like my action bar to be one bar, and would like to put the chat over the action bar. I would like to see a UI similar to Rift that can be customized without the addon nightmare.

I just finished reading Ghosts of Ascalon. What an awesome story. Loved seeing the fact that Dougal Keane is in the game…but I absolutely loved Killeen’s dark inocence and spirit and what she brought to the adventure. I never thought of playing a sylvari but that has changed now. Killen why did you have to die….and for a norn? I hope she is remembered in game.

There are things I like in every MMO. GW was my favorite just because of the customization with armor dyes. It’s the same thing I like about GW2 so far. Rift has the UI customization without third party addons although it looks like they’re beginning to allow it. I love having a customized UI, (without Omen, Recount, DBM etc.) would it be possible to see that in the future? In EQ2 I like the housing…maybe down the road that would be a neat thing to see? I just started with this and I love it; my computer crashed so need to upgrade and can’t wait to get back in to it.

On a totally seperate subject I love the community in this game. y’all are awesome
