Over the past 2 days I have had a permanent increase of my ping by 100. This happened a while back as well with a patch that was bought in and was instantly decreased some months later when a new patch came in and corrected the issue.

What are some ways we can improve our latency besides the brutally obvious like not downloading etc while playing?

Thought I might post these and see what people think and if they can critique. I mainly solo roam or small group in WvW. I am on Blackgate on US servers in T1. These are what i currently use, I do however make slight changes depending on the tier im playing in due to skill differences etc.

I like to steer clear of the meta for a number of reasons, and plus i like a lot of variety so i dont burnt out on new patches etc

About the Guild

Welcome! [Zen] The Way Of The Master have re-opened their doors on Blackgate to help the community reinvigorate our WvW and to recruit a small number of quality players. We are currently looking to slightly bolster our WvW numbers for both the North American and Oceanic timezones.
Our main focus in WvW is yet to be determined as variety is the spice of life. We believe by playing the PPT game we can pick and choose locations for engagements giving us our own choice between PPT and PPK. We have just the right balance to make sure we succeed as a guild and we hope to pass this on to any new members so we can all succeed as an an organised group. We have a “no fear” policy where no matter the numbers, no matter the odds, whether we are fielding 1 player or 10, we will give it 110%.

About Us

Rep Policy - We require full representation from our WvW members during our raids. We encourage members to represent even outside raid times for other things related to GW2 such as theorycrafting, item/gear obtainment, strategy discussion and picking up hot chicks.
Mature – Our ages range from 18 – 50+
We Are Recruiting all time zones. We have a very tight knit PvP core and an extremely active WvW group consisting of 10+ dedicated players. We have NA and Oceanic commanders and players of all skill levels.
Community Orientated – We realise attrition plays part in the demise of most guilds, we keep our members active by doing numerous events within the guild such as raffles, competitions, WvW training, farming, BETA testing, small ops, havoc, GvG, WvW, ZvZ.
Voice Comms – We use the Blackgate server TS3 as priority and our private TS3 server as back up.
New Player Friendly – As a well oiled machine, we have no problem taking the short amount of time it takes to coach a new player into becoming a competent member of the guild.

I have played this game since day one, and I will continue to play it for as long as possible. It is the first game i have had to literally grind in. I do nothing but WvW and have only recently got into a little bit of PvP due to the new system.

My account is almost up to 5000 hours playing time. I can tell you, a great deal of time was spent grinding for Ascended items and daily crafting to make up the resources needed to create my armour and weapons. On top of that I had to make sure to complete dailies, monthlies, and even do a spot of PvE to make up extra laurels needed to craft what i needed.

Please imagine my position of disgust and betrayal, when my 3 main characters are as follows;

Asura Guardian
Asura Warrior – Roamer
Charr Warrior – Large Commander

All these classes use heavy armour, and basically the same sorts of set ups with some minor changes such as runes and sigils. So to powerhouse, along with many of my friends, we grinded like crazy to make sure our characters have the upper hand being decked out in full Ascended. As a hardcore WvW’er and GvG enthusiast as well, it was necassary to give each character other sets of Ascended trinkets/weapons etc to fit the situation at hand.

So long story short, I am extremely upset because i geared my chaarcter in similar gear, and then you come out and make Ascended account bound instead of soulbound. Meaning the hours upon hours upon hours of time i soaked up getting 25 Laurels and 250 WvW Badges plus the extra 5 Laurels and 125 WvW Badges for the WvW Infusion just for ONE ring alone, was completely and utterly wasted.

I am now left with 3 sets of Ascended Soldiers armour, as well as COUNTLESS amulets, rings and accessories that dont need to be used due to the change from soulbound to account bound. Off the top of my head i have wasted AT LEAST 300 laurels on Ascended items no longer in use because of the rule change. Not to mention the gold. On top of that, being a very well known commander from the start of the game, it was essential to have a commander tag on every character so i could lead my server, and still do to this day, but yet again, you changed the rules and the several characters i spent a whopping 100g on for the blue dorito should have never needed to purchase that.

I am so upset that i have been a victim to the change of rule sets. You really have no idea the amount of time and effort was wasted because of all this. Surely there has to be some sort of system where we can trade in Ascended items or sell them. It just isnt fair to pigeon hole players like myself who work hard for our items and then have them almost stripped from our bare hands

Don’t quote me on this….but New Zealands hottest export in GW2 atm is Vortex Blade!

An extremely talented yet humble guild. [DAWN] has always been a large piece in Blackgates’ armour and has stood the test of time.

They do some crazy mixed kiwi/aussie nights on the lager and hopefully are still the kite enthusiasts :P

Doesnt matter what your focus is in WvW (or PvE/sPvP for that matter), these guys do it all! Reverence & (FL) have been loooong time residents of BG through thick and thin, and it shows when they play WvW.

If your looking for a never say die guild who will roll out with one, or move out with 50, these are your guys! From solo roaming to pugmanding, from havoc to blob busting….there isnt a kitten thing these guys dont do!

How on Earth do i salvage my much needed and EXPENSIVE runes out of armors that have been bought with karma and with WvW badges etc?

I used to be able to transmute into a cheap version and extract that way, but with the new wardrobe it seems I have about 200g worth of useless armors and expensive runes that i will never be able to salvage?

Surely there is some way?

Noticed recently that whenever I go into water i lose my 25 stacks of blood lust or perception.

Just wondering if anyone is still running a stacking weapon of any sort? Or is it more viable to take a force or accuracy sigil instead?

I am looking for a couple of things. I am not sure how all this works “commissions” and all this sort of thing.

This is a great guild to join. They have their fingers in everything when it comes to in game…….they do it all! GvG, zerging, small ops, roaming. A good guild to learn from!

The website uses Enjin. It is a really large gaming website network and extremely safe. If you dont want to enter your real email then you are free to use a different one, just make sure you remember your passwords and such

We had to clarify the sending of items from NA to EU. We were going to make it work regardless. So all servers from both NA and EU are welcome to join!
