Recently it came to my attention that some attacks, like the Guardian Staff 2 (Orb of Light) don’t show the orb animation when fired without a target. This way it is not possible to detonate the orb at a specific distance, since it is not visible.
The same thing happens with the Engineer Flamethrower kit 2 attack, as well as the auto attack.
//EDIT
Correction: When targeting a friendly target or non at all, the projectile flies downwards, making it disappear into the ground. This can easily be seen with Guard Staff 2 (see screenshot: https://imgur.com/Vowf5tC)

Although the Instructors have a certain cooldown time, if you ask them again after a while, they will pose another question (i.e. the questions are not tied to the hologram positions, rendering any guide quite useless)
I play the tp on occasion and find that people are constantly undercutting.
Now logically this would make sense, sell somthing for 1 less coin hoping for a faster but but it actually isn’t logical.
Selling something for 1c less isn’t about getting your money faster – it’s about sending a message…
The point is, for a short period of time, I want to be the one that is on the top of the list, because that’s the first order that’s served when someone buys/sells that particular item. Besides – do you really undercut sell orders?
And although Skribulous already put it nicely, here as a general advice to all people complaining about the “tactics”, “manipulation” or “bad manners” on the TP: If you want your money quick, just serve the uppermost order and you’ll be fine. Otherwise you’ll end up in a shark pool you can’t handle.
As Dade Murphy (Crash Override) said: “Mess with the best, die like the rest”
They give you enough character slots to have a character of each race.
That’s actually the main point – I for one am very pleased that we are given the possibility to try out all of the five races. Being able to try all eight professions in neither required nor advisable…
(…)taking a spot for a leveling character.
My alternate advise is to level to level 30 so you have reasonable traits, stats and all skills and then you can join the zerg and actually make a difference.
Although this argument is heavily server-dependent. Personally, I have never seen a queue for WvW and leveled one of my alts mainly there; I have never felt that I am “taking” someones spot.
The same argument would go for doing map completion or jumping puzzles – are you really sure that when the player cap is reached, one person makes any difference?
Is it intended that the monthly achievement shows tier in the hero panel, but not in the UI overview?
Well, there can be several gauging factors when it comes to server choice:
- Guild size, language and main activity: http://www.gw2guilds.org/guilds
- WvW ranking: http://mos.millenium.org/matchups
- Server language (official or unofficial)
For the “unofficial” server language, you can either do a forum search or check gw2guild and list the guilds by member count. - Player number: The more, the better (usually)
- Roleplay aspects (e.g. Tarnished Coast)
Since server transfer is no longer free, you should definitely choose a server with high population as primary priority and one or more of the above points as a secondary factor.
I am done with the game, I just can’t nor will i keep playing a game that is not balanced in any way shape or form.
I am tired of playing the same servers every week in WvW even though we lose on purpose to get OUT of the tier we are in yet that fails.
I am tired of the pvp balance which is NOT there, and the total ignoring of classes by the dev team who would rather do holiday events than fix their broken classes and class balance.
I wont even get into making money in this game which takes so much time and effort it really is not even worth it.
How pve item skins must be attained through pvp and vice a verse
The game has potential if the devs would stop what they have been doing and fix the game.
A couple of great games are out later this month and while I wish GW2 to do well I really do not see that happening with their current business format.
Good bye and no you all can not have my stuff I already deleted all my toons.

Cya!
Just in case someone doesn’t know this:
There is a /stuck command for that
Up…
You can see the problem on gw2db:
http://www.gw2db.com/items/66656-beaded-harpoon-shooter#
Although listed as “Speargun” it shows an icon and 3D model of a spear and vice versa:

Mods are allowed? I read an article saying you won’t get banned for using Combat Mode but…I’m still a tad leery about it. Though as long as using that mod alone won’t bring the banhammer down on me, I’ll use it. That seems like it’d give me what I need. Would still be nice to have this simple toggle ingame without a mod…
Since Autohotkey sends the same command to your mainboard as your mouse does when holding RMB, there is no way of distinguishing these two. There’s no difference between using combat mode and sticking a piece of toothpick into your mouse (yes, that works for me).
You better not look up your lifetime survivor
And I think They (yes, with capital t) are secretly supporting the North Korean weapons tests to ensure world domination of the masonic movement.
With the price of Precursors, Legendaries definitely need less gold sinks. The Icy Runestones should be removed.
So either you want the precursors to cost more money or you don’t understand the effect inflation (aka increasing total gold amount) has on the TP pricing…
I don’t see the false advertising here, the description says clearly
“(…) guaranteed to contain red and pink dyes only.” not
“(…) guaranteed to contain Red and Pink dyes only.”
I don’t wanna go all grammar nazi about this, but that’s where the difference between Red dye and red dye is
They are in a metastable equilibrium.

I think Michael has made a very useful suggestion. Can you give it a try (while keeping in mind that if it makes your refrigerator blow up, it’s not on us.
)
Because you guys have no means of accessing our refrigerators… right?
This next one I’m doing is so massive that I’m getting to do a bit of everything in it, so it’s been a super fun experience.
What if that super big JP already went online and we all are part of it? jumpception
I have to say that I really enjoyed Skipping Stones in Cove
It’s pretty fun to do and the first time you think “ah, okay, I’ll just stand here in the geyser and wait for the stones to reappe… AAAHH! My hair is burning!!”
It’s also neat how it punishes you for not paying attention at the end and the forced perspective there lets you think the ridge is continuous (it’s not xD)
I think you have to account for different prices/earnings ratios in the different countries, but that’s just an educated guess.
I don’t know whether someone posted this aspect of it, but maybe some people (which I could really understand) see the way of crafting a legendary a higher goal than actually using it. By that I mean that some of those people selling legendaries on the TP actually wanted to make the item just for the sake of it, but then they sold it rather than using it, maybe because they didn’t enjoy the higher stats…
I know that’s not what the question is about, but the workaround is as always http://www.gw2db.com/items :
- Seach the item you want to preview
- Copy the “Chat link” into the chat
- Say it, preferably not in “map” mode
- Right-click it and select preview
Am i the only one that finds all these people that complain about the game ungrateful?
No, you are not alone! I wonder the whole time how the people on these forums, bubbling over with ideas, suggestions and criticism, coped with the inability to communicate themselves when there were no fora around (you know, “before” the Internet)
It is also interesting to see how some posters here think they can really appeal to the developers for some ridiculous changes (more drops, new races, just to name a few ), when it’s obvious that the tone of conversation sometimes tends to go down the drain, which essentially renders this forum as a communication platform completely useless.
What items would you incorporate into an index for the TP and how would you weight them?
I thought of using the “commerce infographic” (http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/0/4689/2299985-commerce_infographic_en.png) to construct an index weighted by percentage of trade volume (that’s what I assume the pie chart at the bottom of the graphic to be about) and then play around with item level ranges to check whether there are some differences between item tiers.
Does indexing the TP make even sense, since we have shorter timespans to work with than a real market?
Ever wondered if it was possible to reach the bottom of Rata Sum from inside? Well it is possible! It’s quite fun to go explore down there.
Note : You need a class with falling damage reduction with you.
Actually, you can go down there without falling damage reduction
Thanks for clarification, John “Hubris” Smith
I will sell one for 100 gold
Cheater! Those are soulbound on acquire :P
Many thanks and kudos to you, Anet!
So you expect them to do what? Buy bandwith and server hardware probably serveral times the current volumen just to make the download a bit faster for the next few hours?
How about you do something else and leave the download running?
Of course, you will get all your gold back… nah, just kiddin’
As always when people think drop rates have been reduced without any notification, it works fine for me: Just cleared the three quaggan camps in WvW and got three Uni Dyes.
By the way, this makes me wonder whether the windows are semi-transparent for exactly that reason
Fake.
You can see that the stat window has been cut out of the preview, since his character is visible where we should see the swamp. (Semi-transparent windows and all
Sorry, but nice try

The Kill Variety part is very easy to get at Thaumanova Reactor, the other things actually just happen for me during gameplay

I really love the lore mechanics in this game: Whenever I’ve got a spare half an hour or so, I can log into GW2, got into some area I already visited during map completion, participate in an event and simply enjoy the story behind it.
Just think of it: There are currently 301 renown hearts scattered across the world, each with its unique story. Then there are countless events which are sometimes combined into very big event chains that can last an hour or so to complete. Add to that all those small skill challenge stories or lore pieces, POIs and so on, and you easily have over 500 small tales taking place to make the universe of GW2 feel very alive and engulfing.
And please don’t say now “most of the events/hearts are similar in terms of mechanics”. That may be right, but then you could say Stargate, Star Wars and Star Trek are the same because they involve human beings fighting with ships in space…
So yes, I love this game, I love how you can invest small amounts of time into it and still be rewarded and I love how it offers yet so much content that you won’t likely be bored by anything you encounter for a long time to come.
Even if it’s only a draft, it’s worth voicing it now so ArenaNet can change the system before it’s implemented.
Well, point taken, but I took it as a very rough concept outline, instead of “Obsidian Shards” there could be anything, even “Wasabi Peanuts”.
Besides that, are you really sure that is an actual screenshot of the final content? I’d rather take it as as draft that the final version of it.
This is already being discussed here:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/lore/6th-playable-race-what-s-your-top-3-pick
Btw, why do people think that there will be any new race? I totally don’t feel like it ;P
Well, that really depends on you!
As for me, I personally L-O-V-E the enormous depth of lore available ingame, so first I did map completion in a quite slow pace, simply enjoying the little stories littered across the world. After that one was completed, I wanted to experience another race-specific storyline, so I started another character and enjoyed that storyline. Now he hit lv 50 and the more “generic” Trahearne-storyline starts now, so I read a few things about market dynamics and started playing the TP just for the fun of it.
Of course, you can always try to get your unique skins/legendaries or try WvW or PvP or build up a guild etc.
To hear anyother opinion on that, check out this video by woodenpotatoes:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1eXiv5I3ew
Just to mention it:
You can preview dyes on your current armor by
going to http://www.gw2spidy.com
searching for the dye you want (e.g. http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/20356)
click “link ingame”
paste the database code into the chat
right-click it and preview
I like to combine this with the wiki color palette (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Dye#Colors), there you can browse the material/hue/rarity palettes available ingame, sometimes the code is even there.
At the beginning of the mentioned story chapter, both Gara and Ftokchak are present, although I chose the grawl option. I don’t think this is intended, since the Skritt is not mentioned in the conversation, yet he delivers the same dialogue as if I chose him as the “help some poor race”-option.
The zone names on the world map give you a tooltip information about their completion status, so you can really quickly check those.
After that, the only thing remaining are the three Battlegrounds and the Chantry, so the missing POI must be somewhere there…
Why not use the “leave dungeon” button above the minimap for that?
Just a very minor thing: Is there any reason for the lv400 fine crafting mats not to be placed beneath their respective material type, but on the side instead?
Keep up the awesome work!
Oh my… just stop cry. Go to FrostGorge Sound, use an XP bost and kill every mob you see. In less than 2 hours you will have the achiev whitout risk.
Or even better: Do the area completion for Frostgorge or a similar map, tons of XP…
Same thing for Underworld. But hey, why even bother fixing those things? It’s just one small event…
I completed it without any problems in the way Zaxares described it.
Btw, shouldn’t there be spoiler tags for the pattern solution in the first post?
Just as an addition: The health bar in the event screen is empty, so possibly Bria didn’t die properly.
The guy stuck in the tree is a bug with the renown heart in that area, where you have to lead the logger ghosts to their bodies.
Hey guys,
wouldn’t the creation of a Tyrian Explorers Office very easily solve the issues people are having with the world completion?
You would just walk to a guy in Lion’s Arch, talk to him and that would trigger a check on the completion status (since that one seems to work fine).
If the check ist positive, this could activate the world completion reward.
Cheers,
