Billy, believe it or not, they would probably tell you something like this is basically in place now but that the size of player base and the ammount of players on at any given time hampers its ability to work optimally since the system only waits a little bit to find the appropriate opponents and then just throws you in with the closest “best fit” regardless of how ludicrous it might be.
The funny thing about that is if you look at big RTS games like SC2 they have a larger player base for pvp then this game does and they have little complaints and the system i described is what they use. I see what you are saying they will try to use that as a cop out….
Yes that is true but when you split them whats to say a premade of low level 20’s fight another premade of high level 30’s that is where my system would come in.
I have played a lot of different game with a type of pvp in them. Whether they be RTS, MMO, MMORPG, extc, and of all those games this one doesn’t have the best match making. Before everyone starts to qq or say that I’m a qq’er please read this thread fully before make a reply. Here is my suggestion:
ArenaNet needs to make a ranking system. This ranking system will help you get matched against other people with the same rank as you. Your rank would be determined of your game play in a match. As well as if you team looses or wins. The ranking will not look at your glory rank. If each player started with a base ranking, then it would make it equal at the start. Here is an example:
If we have 4 players, players 1, 2, 3, 4 and each one is ranked in this order; player 1 = lvl 1, player 2 = lvl 10, player 3 = level 20, and player 4 = level 40. Now lets get to the match.
The match is players 4 and 3 vs players 1 and 2. Now based on their level you can assume that players 4 and 3 will win. Since they will win they ranking will go up and players 1 and 2 will go down. On the next match if these four players were the only ones to queue to and face each other this would be the match ups: 1 and 4 vs 3 and 2. Thus the match would be more balanced due to the fact that players 4 and 3 have about the same ranking as well as players 2 and 1.
Now to further explain this in a larger scale. Every player would get their own rank and be matched with people around their rank. But what about premades? Well premades would have their own rank as well. So if 3 players get together and win 4 matches in a row then they will go against pugs or other premades with their same rank. Then you might ask well what if I party with 2 friend and get a ranking and then a third friend comes in. Well your rank would be different from your party with 2 friends vs your party with 3 friends.
I know this might be hard to implement but, looking at the forums their are a lot of people complaining about this. Please take this method into consideration and I’m sorry ahead of time if I was confusing.
tl;dr: Everyone, even premade parties, should have their own separate ranking and be matched based on that ranking.

Neither of the necros were minion master they only had their flesh golem and jagged horror when they killed someone. Also this isnt a discussion of where the hits came from just total of hits please only post pics of your hit count.

Post your pictures with your highest treb hits in ONE match. It cant be against friends letting you hit them. Please black out everyone’s name but your own unless they gave you consent.

The point of this thread was to say that the mesmers can apply to many stacks of confusion to fast.

I knew it, my theory was correct. That makes this a 100% learn to play issue. If you run around spamming your shortbow autoattack with quickness, and you don’t pay attention to the simplest things….like your health dropping rapidly…you will get killed by confusion every single time. Also, as it turns out, the ranger shortbow is the most susceptible weapon in the game to confusion damage.
One way or another, you played badly, and you’re blaming a mechanic instead of owning up to the fact that you’re just bad.

You are ignoring the point -_-. The point was how the confusion was applied and how fast not that I was stupid an auto attacked through it. I know I did that because all my condi removal was on CD. Im trying to make a point that mesmers can apply confusion way to fast in multiple successions.

Just loaded up my Glamour build, it’s fairly typical. CoF deals 250 – 2kittenage per Illusion on a medium target (WoC deals less per hit than CoF). Even assuming no IP in their Build (which would be stupid if they are intending to focus Confusion burst on an area) that would be 9×250=2,250, which is more than enough to appear in the damage logs assuming no IP.
Is it possible? Sure, maybe an Aegis ate some of it. But one of two situations occured.
1) You had only a moderate amount of Confusion from shattering, but not enough for CoF/Confusing Images to appear and repeatedly attacked, killing yourself. This is fine, it’s how Confusion works.
2) You received a HUGE stack of Confusion which killed you in a minimum of 5 hits. This would have necessitated enough CoF Shatters to appear on your log though.
Instead you claim you recieved a huge stack from CoF without enough damage to appear on the log, which just isn’t likely.
So, to translate your post, you’re saying the Confusion came from nothing then?
My money is on glamours, combined with some sort of fast hitting attack.
What are you guys talking about. Everyone in this thread is trying to say that the confusion is coming from something other that Cry of Frustration (CoF). I was there, I got shattered. If you guys would read the posts before this you would see that the Death counter wont record CoF because it only does 49 damage a per illusion. It doesnt do enought damage to get on the Death Counter. Would you people stop protecting the shatter confusion build.
I dont understand why people are making assumptions where the confusion came from. I have already stated it didnt come from chaos amor nor winds of chaos. It came from the shatter…
I don’t want to brag but… I’ve played every profession in pve to level 80 and I’ve played every profession in tpvp. I understand 99% of the builds including this one. Trust me I know what I’m doing. Again as I said before I’m just trying to make a point.

the three mesmers were in a guild and timing their shatters together. Here is one of the resutls of this and why anet shouldn’t forget to nerf shatter mesmer.
First off, you were focused by 3 people. Basing nerf claims on the potential for cooperation is silly. No single Mesmer could have done near so well. There are lots of potent team compositions out there. The TEAM is powerful.
Second, they didn’t Shatter you. Your damage recap proves it. Yet you come here claiming ANet should nerf our core mechanic based on a coordinated team’s effort when you obviously don’t even understand what they did to you. Then you brag about your expertise? Most people of your ‘expertise’ wouldn’t deal 30,000 damage to themselves via confusion. Confusion maxes at 25 stacks, so even assuming they managed to keep 25 stacks on you non-stop (unlikely) you had to use a minimum of 5 skills (25×4 + 1) to kill yourself and lived a minimum of 14 seconds – plenty if time to notice the Confusion and not kill yourself.
I try not to fall into the “QQ more newb, L2P” crowd. In fact, I came to this thread ready to point to you that while Shatter builds are potent, it’s the build that makes it potent – the base mechanic is rather lackluster. Too many people don’t fully understand just how much Illusionary Persona does for Shattering, it’s a band-aid that makes shattering worthwhile. However, you’re completely off-base with your allegations.
Yes I lived for 14 seconds but, the death counter is flawed if you actually read it. The death counter starts counting as soon as you enter combat. Then it tallies up the highest damage and posts the top highest damage done to you. Thus you can assume that I took 30k confusion in that 14 seconds. Nevertheless I didn’t, I took all that damage in 1 burst. The three Mesmers focused me yes, all three shattered on me. When I dodge rolled and used an auto attack or two I died. Most people don’t know this but if you have a trait where something happens to you when you dodge you get hit by confusion a few times. Weather it be you gain protection on dodge roll or you put down caltrops extc. With that being said the death counter is only accurate for showing the amount of damage done over a set period of time. And with the death counter only posting what does the highest amount of damage and not what all damage was done, you will not see the shatter because the initial damage from the shatter skill itself was to low. That point counter acts this post about shatter nerf yes, but it also proves that shatters are very strong in applying confusion.
It must be counting Confusion damage by the stack, no way he used 101 skills before either team hit 100 points, unless the screen shot is set-up. However, I’m pretty sure I know what happened because I’ve used the same trick before myself.
Here’s what happened: You killed yourself and Shatter wasn’t even involved.
1) Mind Wrack and Cry of Frustration aren’t on your damage recap. If three Mesmers had used Shatter to stack Confusion on you, those two sure as hell would have ranked higher than Winds of Chaos from condition based Mesmers.
2) What happened, is that these are Glamour Mesmers. They have traits which cause their Glamours to inflict Blind and another which causes Blind to inflict Confusion. Furthermore, they have a trait which causes enemies entering or exiting a Glamour to gain Confusion.
3) These Mesmers layered the capture point with Glamours, summoned Illusions, and then lead you by the nose in and out of their glamours borders. They didn’t even Shatter on you because they likely also have the trait which reduces damage taken based on how many illusions were alive. They needed their Illusions to hide among and provide them damage reduction while you killed yourself to their Glamour cycling – It’s like a Vin Diagram on Steroids properly done, if you follow them around (bet you were melee) you can’t help but keep crossing the borders.
4) They also probably kept Chaos Armor up as much as possible using Leap combos within the glamours or the Staff skill. When you hit someone with Chaos Armor on it either Cripples, confuses, or blinds you… so two of those options would result in further confusion.
5) Based on that screenshot you were alive for at least 14 seconds (the duration of Burning), so this wasn’t some sort of super 25 stack Confusion that insta-killed you. Pay better attention to what is happening around you, don’t spend 14 seconds tunnel visioned and not noticing the specially colored damage above your head that tells you to stop attacking.
6) Learn other professions abilities before you go to their forum and call on the devs to nerf the backbone of their profession. Even if 3 Shatter Mesmers had focused you you’d probably of been dead, and dead much faster too. However, if three of any profession focus you death should be the likely outcome.

WvW is not supposed to be equal, if that was true, as said, we would be in pvp gear, food and potions would be disabled, etc. Level scaling is only there to give lower levels a fighting chance, not have it be “loloneshot” like every other game.

the point here is the entire WM guild has that buff or 80%
So if you do the math they gain about 140 precision from the blessing + food + nourishment.
There is a Shrine in Dreadgehaunt that when you need infront of them it gives you a buff for 30 min
So i see big zergs running the Blessing that give them Vitality, Power, Precision, and Toughness. They also have nurishment that gives them precision = to %toughness and precision = to % vitality. Then they run food that gives them +100 Vitality +70 Toughness. So they are stacking stats and bringing blessings into WvW i dont think that was intended…. exploit?

Emry vs. Crystal Desert vs. Magguma
It started with a warning about 6 golems attacking Crystal Deserts Stone mist castle. After Magumma’s 6 golems broke through the first and second gate the portaled 6 more into lords room. CD held the push amazing led by Commander Yolihuani and Commander Zheen. We ( CD ) were very surprised by the push from Magumma and glad we held.
the match up is a little unbalanced after TC got a huge server transfer from HoD. CD is very aggressive and held well last week. We will see who will win.

But when you are planning to siege Stone Mist Castle and 10-20 people leave for the jumping puzzle it doesn’t help. Im just saying the reward drop should be less.
You can do all 4 jumping puzzles once:
-24 hours after you looted the chest
-Per character
-Also immediately after a new build for the game is patchedI got like 100 rams, balistas, trebs and arrow carts along with 20 golems just from doing the jumping puzzles. Exceeded 1000 badges of honor.
It adds up very quickly. Though the time spent to get them is equal to the reward.
What im trying to say is i think the rewards should be diminished if you read in the prior posting someone has 1000 badges and a bunch of siege. What i have noticed is people the do the jumping puzzle dont use the siege in WvW they just want the badges. It’s so annoying for a commander to try to get together a force and in the middle of typing out the strategy someone puts: “Free port up to the jumping puzzle come quick its easy and it free badges” then about 10-20 people just leave and go to the jumping puzzle. It’s fine that there is a jumping puzzle but make it drop badges less often and drop less siege and more weapons.

Hello GW2 community. I am a commander for Crystal Desert Server. I am very disappointed with the jumping puzzle in WvW. I feel the rewards are way to high and people do it way to often. I went to a borderlands to help out and notice that we have that out-man buffed, cool, then something interesting happened. A group of 20-30 people came on the border land and I was like cool they are here to help. So I asked them to help and they said they were all going to the jumping puzzle. For the next hour or so we didn’t have the out maned buff and lost many things. I asked one of them what the rewards were for the jumping puzzle. He listed 3 siege golem 6 balistas 8 catapults 2 flame rams and 8 arrow carts. He then told me this took him a week or two to get because he did the jumping puzzle on multiple char. The rewards are way to high please lower them. Also here is a screen cap of the conversion for confirmation:

well im in crystal desert server we are not that bad. we have had a few iffy commanders so they have a bad rep ty for the info
well you are supposed to be able to right click on the icon of the commander on the mini map or when you click on them and join their squad
I just recently got commander status. I know some people call it a waste of gold. I was wondering if the squad feature was actually working or not. I was able to invite people to my party but not to my squad. The people in my party could see the squad chat but i could only have 5 people

Today I have disconnect from the server about 10-15 times. It’s at random intervals and with random characters. I dont know what the cause is but its getting really annoying. The game will freeze and lag then ill just dc.
the fist letter is actually a capital I(i) as in “I’m” or " I’ll" there I’s look like and l but a captial l looks like this " L". I hoped that helped
