The build on October 1st is going to add WXP consumables to player kills, which should make a pretty sizable dent in this. It is the case that making the events themselves reward WXP is problematic at best because of how easily they cycle. All that said, we’ll make more adjustments as needed to make this a better place to play WvW. A bonus for kills in the area isn’t a bad idea at all.

Any update on when the Bloodlust stats will be removed?

Base hp regen is 392
30s of healing sig = 11760 hp. More healing than a thief
60s of healing = 23520 hp

this trait will proc as long as you have a decent crit chance.

there is no counter play to this, no amount of dodging skills or condi cleanse can keep up every 10 seconds on top of what we already can dish out.

We do not need Burning to help out damage. I have very little trouble with 1v1 and sometimes 1v2-3 all without dumbfire. in group fights you cant pick and choose who gets burning so its a waste 30 trait points. if you want burning you have a 15s skill called epidemic where you can spread 10+ seconds of burning +all conditions to 5 other targets.

I don’t get what you mean.. First you’re saying you don’t use burning and afterwards you’re talking about spreading it with epidemic ? Or do you mean in group play ? It’s not like other classes will go easy on you with their conditions , so why are we ‘unfair’ ? Ever seen that big aoe fire field of warrior longbow burst ? That’s what I call a real painfull problem.. Not some random 4s burning.. Even if didn’t have burning, we could still stack lots and lots of bleeding with scepter 1.. So you want that they change that to ?

If you do not trait 30 points in spite.. Then how will you spread 10s+ burning with epidemic ? Or do you mean in group play ? But why would others be alowed to give burning but not the Necromancer ?

A good Necro does not NEED to APPLY burning to be effective. We spread it from other classes. A good Necro will NOT WASTE 30 trait points for a trait that supports mindless skill spamming in order for it to proc. ONLY BAD Necros rely on this trait to be good. Only Bad necros will see no other way to deal damage and sustain themselves without this trait.

I just dont understand why any decent necro or any necro that played before this patch came out supports this trait.

Fear: once used the enemy gets a boon which means that fear cannot be placed on them for 10 seconds - remove stability
Immobilize: remove completely - remove vigor
Poison: remove the reducing heal potency by 33% part - remove regen

This is hilarious. Anet absolutely hates WvW. Just refer to the dev griefing the GvG incident.

The map and the bloodlust ruins are/were both additions that were not requested by WvW players. If you look at their layouts, they don’t feel like WvW at all. More like sPvP areas. The suspicion is that Anet wants to introduce WvW players to sPvP by creating more sPvP-like regions in WvW.

That dev incident may be the only reason why WvW is getting any love at all.

As I said in my PMs to him since those were the only ones I could find, good luck finding a guy to stand in your wells as you auto attack. Also a Terrormancer build should be fear chaining for a guaranteed kill on anyone, you cannot counter a good Spectral Wall Terrormancer.

it took the condi build 7+ key strokes in order to come close to the dps of a well timed power rotation. My point of those vids was to show that power is in face stronger damage. if we had 5 necro do this we would destroy a whole team on a point. or make them get out of the way.

Also conditions are capped in all game modes. once you reach 25 stacks of bleeds thats it.
while with power you can get hit back to back with 10k+ attacks with no damage cap.

Well timed is a good laugh at E,M5,M4,F1,F1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1.
But power attacks tend to have clear animations, melee range application, cooldowns. Why would I use zerker Axe Warrior to Eviscerate for an easily dodged 10k when I can throw an Impale instantly for 10k damage if they remove immobilize, switch to longbow and Pin Down them into a Combustive Shot while dancing. What they used all their condition removal? Do it again before its off cooldown. Also did I mention my sweet 30k hp with 3k armor?

warriors have their own issues lol but a good warr will stun they target before wasting a eviscerate.

It’s the same with Necromancer too. Lich Forms 3k zerker on bunker auto attacks is an automatic team fight win generally but they aren’t that good for the next 150 seconds if focused at all. Necromancer can easily chain fear for 10+ seconds through Spectral Wall abuse for 11k damage with Terror alone. That downed target is now being ressed as you spread the conditions on all the revivers for another team fight win on a 45 second cooldown at most, even if the guy is ressed, unless a Guardian spins on a light field or uses “Save Yourselves!”. Roaming in WvW wise too Terror is far stronger since you can take traits like Reaper’s Protection since you don’t need the 50% fear duration for 100% condition duration in WvW.

corrupt boon will miss 50% of the time the other 50% will only remove 5 boons.
spinal shivers 1 1/4s cast time = more than enough time to dodge and not many condi builds use a focus which complements power much more.
Chill of death, well ok you got me on this one. but we will see how many necro’s wills till use 30 in spite after dumbfire nerf.

if you play wvw and dont bring 2 stun breakers you will be eaten by stuns/daze no matter what build they enemy has. which is why I advocate for more self condi removal and less aoe condi removal so you can be more in control of your own character.

No skill should hit that much without a large sacrifice/long channel time. Look at skills like Churning Earth and Kill Shot. These skills do incredible amounts of damage, but both have a channel time of like 3 seconds and decent length cooldowns (30 and 10 + time to regain enough adrenaline to use the SAME version of the skill again, respectively).

All high hitting skills in this game come with a high cost whether it is through a long channel, a long channel, or a combination of both (final thrust, for example).

Backstab has the capability to hit for 15k+ in full glass builds.

Two conditions must be met:
1) Stealthed
2) Hit from behind or sides

For #1, stealth can be spammed constantly, so that isn’t a problem. Backstab, as the name implies, should only hit from exactly the back and not the sides included. This would bring the overall success rate of the skill from 75% to 25%, a reasonable drawback to something that delivers such high damage. Either that or the initiative cost needs to be enough to where it can’t be done quickly in succession. i.e. C+d takes 5 or 6 initiative, most thieves have 12, so backstab should cost at least 5-6 initiative to use. death blossom costs 5 and does much less direct damage.

Killshot can be cast from 1000+ away and is used by a warrior which lets face it is anets favorite class.
Churning earth is AOE and also applies bleeds (can be used with a utility to make the cast from range and just zap in)

Backstab – Single Target, Must be in melee range and behind the target
Must use 4 signets and venom for a max of 22 might stacks (45s cd for each full power burst)
No way to heal, No way to remove conditions, No way to mitigate any damage aside from running away. (based on the vid and the build he was most likely using. )

Changing the stacking stat buffs was already requested for removal, but you know Anet knows best.
+150 power/vitality/crit/healing power/etc cannot possibly be unbalancing if everybody on your server has it.
All you need is the most coverage, and you can faceroll the other servers.
Perhaps Anet might consider having a public test server.

Anet does not care about WvW!
they only care about their Spvp Esport which blows. that should have been enough for us to see that this game will never be what we thought it could be.

So I think it’s official, Zerg vs Zerg is considered GvG. I don’t think 20v20 can be considered GvG or PvP. I think GvG would deserved an own gamemode and a ladder, but with this, the opportunity has gone away. It should be the PvP version of guild mission.

I will never call that thing GvG.

Stop trying to define GvG yourself. GvG is two guilds who agree how many people should fight and then go and fight. If they want a small number, fine. If they want 20v20, fine. There are no rules on numbers.

The problem is that’s not even PvP. In a 20v20, does individual skill matter at all, Can you watch out for a mesmer raising up his gs summoning a berserker? No. You go spam AoE skills with your PvE build and then hope for lucky crits. You can’t do anything.

And GvG was defined in the GW universe nearly 9 years ago.

Dont care what it was called 9 years ago or what it was in Gw1.
this is not gw1, this is Gw2.

GvG is now 15v15 or 20v20
if you dont like it stay in spvp and stop trying to define what we do. Only reason we even started to come to your forums was because the wvw devs make a mistake in placing a bloodlust buff in our maps.

How would this affect Dungeons?
Not to mention siege equipment wouldn’t stand a chance against a small group of AOE.

Imagine a Zerg Ball rolling up on you with AOE casters leading the way, demolishing all in its path without needing to get into melee range.

Dungeons will be faster
Siege…. i dont use it so I dont care
Zerg “ball” ….. flank and make them go home

Even though we wont do it for Dec 10. I just wanted to throw out a wacky possible idea for Dhuumfire that we could discuss…

  • Life Blast has a 100% chance to cause Burning on hit (2 seconds long). 6 seconds ICD.

Obviously the #s are ballpark and not necessarily final. The % chance, duration, and ICD are all subject to change.

A lot of these considerations, unfortunately, don’t make a lot of sense.

We should consider the following realities:

  • A damaging condition in the Power line both hurts condition builds that want it and limits power builds that don’t want it
  • Having it force power players to use LB to get the burn may have some validity in PvP, but drives this trait further into the mud for PvE where LB is inferior DPS to Dagger

Consider the following instead, Jon:

  • Move Withering Precision from Curses to Spite Grandmaster
  • Move Dhuumfire from Spite to Curses Grandmaster and DON’T change it
  • Move Terror up to Grandmaster
  • Drop Lingering Curses down to Master
  • Move Weakening Shroud up to Master and DON’T change duration
  • Move Spectral Attunement down to Adept

Withering Precision: Deal 15% more damage to foes suffering from Weakness.
Siphoned Power: Deal 10% more damage when you have over 90% HP or 90% Death Shroud.

This does the following things:

  • Conditionmancers are forced to take either Terror or Dhuumfire, but they can’t have both
  • Dhuumfire is a cover condition for other conditions and can have longer durations depending on condition duration investment, but fear doing damage is also very powerful. From this position, you could possibly even buff Dhuumfire to bring it into line with Terror since they occupy the same trait spot on a bar.
  • Weakening Shroud is kept valuable with its new synergy with the new Withering Precision, which is now in the Power line
  • Withering Precision goes to the Spite line and actually provides a dps boost comparable to Close to Death with different conditions, which actually helps PvE necros too
  • New Siphoned Power has synergy with Death Shroud because you can activate it when health is over 90% and keep it there safely, and this trait significantly helps power Necros in both PvP and PvE to actually be worth packing over condition variants

Love the Idea of Making a necro choose to get burning or terror!!!!!
a necro should not be able to get both at the same time!

because in GW2 this is the GvG we have.

If you want to go play GW1 GvG go ahead. but do not come here and tell us GW2 players this is not “real” GvG.

if you want to go 8v8 there is sPvP for that.
