Is ANYONE else crashing like every 15-20 mins, when they map change, hell even when they’re idle and do nothing sometimes? I’ve turned my settings down, and still happens. This has ONLY been happening since the HoT patch btw. All my Drivers are updated too.
Again will say – Gravity Well cast time needs a reduction. Consider the other Wells, or EVEN Time Warps cast time!!
Keep the 3CC’s tho – 1) it’s an Elite and 2) the sound drops before the actual Well, so if you’re smart enough and hear out for it, you can just avoid, that and 3) most have stun breaks, stabs or teleports to get away from it.
If ppl are complaining about the CC’s then it’s only because we’ve found a way to keep the CC going outside the use of the Well itself to keep you on the spot

Name’s in my Signature bellow
(although this name ACTUALLY came from my LoL name because I main Ekko xD)
I feel like the Gravity Well’s cast time is kinda…long. I know it’s 1sec, but consider the some wells are like 1/4 to 3/4… even TimeWarp is 1/4sec, so trying to use the Well on a multi-target burst spot (with Tides (Shield5)) is kinda clunky.
*EDIT: That and because ppl can hear it before it goes down…. so it’s easy to evade it.

It’s unclear when they are taking the snapshot tho…
It’ll happen just as you make your first Beta character. So before making one, just stock up the bank before then.
They mentioned that you could “continue working on your masteries” in BWE3 during the livestream. Which I’m guessing means that they’ll again be simply carrying over the previous beta accounts, and not creating a new bank / account clone this time around.
They did say
Final Beta weekend event
Due to large back-end changes to core systems that have corrupted some of the beta data, your characters from previous beta weekends will not be available for BWE3—everyone will be starting with fresh beta characters. So new chars and I would bet a new bank reset.
Ahh thanks for that link, missed the article last night after I fell asleep after the Launch Trailer. And yeah they kinda have to reset the bank as well now is the data is corrupted. Awesome stuff
So BWE3 slated for next weekend – is this gonna happen or not? Still no word here :/
I might as well post this here just to get some traffic maybe and Devs to say something officially but..
Who I talked to in-game about this was Jessica Boettiger (WvW/PvP/Skills Principal QA). She did say that it was in the thoughts to maybe reset the Bank for future Betas, tho not a confirmation and def. not a sure thing for BW3. So Devs. are AT LEAST aware that it’s been asked for and considering something maybe.
Nah there’s a lot of ppl that want this as well. There are some that want it just for the cosmetic aspect of using a skin or two, but like I said – I’m not one of them, and am looking for the practical side of testing out a Spec or Revenant fully with updated Gear.
If it’s possible, could we please get a Bank reset for the upcoming Beta’s? I brought this up with Jessica at one point, but I think it’s very important to let us try out these Specialisations and Revenants with optimum Gear/Items that we would most likely use during the live game.
A lot of us have prepared our Bank after BWE1 with Ascended Gear, Food, Runes/Sigils, Infusions etc to be able to properly test out the Elite Specs as well as the new Class in PvE and WvW situations. I know these Beta’s are mostly to test the core/base feature of the Elite Specs, as well the section of the new map and it’s Masteries…. but understand that those who wants to truthfully TEST out these changes, to it’s limit aren’t able to with the items you provide. When you make changes to the live, be it a nerf or buff to classes for e.g., we look to our Gear to see if they need changes too, to either compensate or take advantage of said changes. ATM, PvP is the only true place we can test these Specs out right now during these BWE’s.
This is not for skins, which I know alot of other Players have also done. IDC for skin usage in a BETA, what I do care about is testing out these Builds and Changes with Equipment I have updated based on my first playthrough (BWE1).
So if it’s no trouble and ofc possible, pls allow a Bank reset for future Beta’s – we’d appreciate it greatly.
I get that, but I would not have made the time/emotional investment that I did into my bank prep if I had known they weren’t going delete everything from last Beta as it says they would. I could have spent that time doing other things..
You could have spend that time reading all the info we got BEFORE the very first beta weekend. They specifically said everything would carry over to the next beta weekend, which is this one.
They have never said they would delete everything and allow you to re-copy your bank this weekend.
Except ANet didn’t mention your bank content being cloned. Just that it’ll take place in the live game on your account – then we came to the conclusions that it would copy or use the same bank.
So reading up on info that isn’t there, that I had to a) ask in a Support ticket and b) poke a dev in game to find out, isn’t gonna help really :/
I’m on the same boat as setting up my bank with gear I’m gonna use when the exp. goes live, to test out on the Revenant and Mesmer for this BWE2. That inc. HEAVY theorycrafting on two professions and their builds, both I intend to, or hoped to, us during my Guilds WvW raids. Sadly it’s all my stuff from the first BWE.
Pls ANet if you can, update the bank content for each BWE. I even poked a dev about this a week prior to see if you guys can tell us whether it’ll get reset or not but got no reply back.
I’ve already tested what I want from BWE1 with the stuff I have – and seeing as Idc for PvE and PvP, WvW and the Elite Specs are the only thing I’m trying out in these Beta’s. So now with the changes to the Specs. but with the same gear from last time…. I don’t personally see a point in beta testing the stuff I’m going to play as it’ll be half a**ed at this point, and I’d rather test for ANet something to the fullest of intentions than just breeze through it with the basic gear etc.
These Beta’s are optional anyway, plus I’ve already paid for the game – guess I’ll be skipping these and waiting for October 23rd.
*EDIT: Just to clarify, my bank stuff that I wanted isn’t skins etc. They are Ascended gear, proper and optimal food/consumables for specific Build synergy, as well as the Runes and Sigils to go with them.
(edited by Brit.9726)
maybe a tweak to mace to work like the underwater spear? at distance applying torment and close up applying confusion?
Something like that would be perfect. I just find it odd that the -option- flat out isn’t there.
That shouldn’t be a surprise atm though seeing as this Class doesn’t have much options anyway.
My main gripe isn’t the fact that Energy costs are high… it’s that everything uses it, on top of CD’s… and so far how the Class is now (esp using a build around Shiro), it’s exhausting.
You have this Legend, this stance… add the Revenant class mechanics to it, Shiro who’s idea is going for a bursty-type DPS way of playing the Class, and what you get is a Build that has Energy depleting quicker than the Burst can happen, and no retreat (lose of Energy or no GTFO Utility as it’s all locked at 3 atm, with no option). So the limited option you have, add to the Energy problems are reasons why players are looking at the Energy system as something that needs to be reworked.
If we had options to chose the skills ourselves, then it prob. won;t be that big on an issue, but we’re forced into these skills and the Energy burn costs with it.
@Krzysiek
Then simply don’t play revenant. Why? Because it’s clearly not a class you want. You basically changed entire class and its concept by wanting to remove energy cost.
Don’t like energy mechanic? Prefer cooldowns? This isn’t a class for you then. You got plenty of CD based classes that you can choose.
I want to play rev because it’s different and NOT CD based but energy based. They made this class for people like me who wanted something else than CD.
Yet it still has CD. The trick is to find the balance between using the two – but as of right now, it’s exhausting. You have no “safe” skill to take a breather in when you’re building up energy, bar AA and not attacking. For example, even with Classes that only has CD’s, they have options to Retreat or Absorb all DPS as a way of waiting for CDs (as well as mitigating damage on themselves)… Revenant doesn’t atm.
Shiro’s heal isn’t even considered a “safe” skill either, as the initial heal is only 1.64k according to the Wiki… so the only way to achieve that is to use up Energy just like blowing all CD’s just to back off slightly for a while. That or kite for a bit, while you AA.
Again, speaking from a WvW perspective… but so far it does need more work. You can go on record and say “I want to play rev because it’s different” all you won’t, it won’t change how the Energy system is right now.
It’s different… but at the same time it’s using existing mechanics. So in the end it won’t be 100% different. I’m not saying to completely mirror what Thieves have (it’s just a suggestion), but just take a page from that. IF you are gonna use CD’s ON TOP OF Energy…. then they need to balance that out. This class has to work in all three modes of the game, and so far it doesn’t.
I posted mine here, but it goes with what everyone else is saying tbh: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/revenant/BWE1-Revenant-Feedback-Suggestions/
This class has alot of potential, and the changes to add Weapon Swap, Legend Swap being instant, Shiro etc is helping it get to that sweet-spot.
FYI I’m talking from a WvW/vs. Player PoV, not PvE – frankly I have no feedback to give regarding that mode so I won’t.
BUT there’s a few things missing, mainly 2(maybe 4) things that I can point out right now.
1) Energy Management – this is always something you have to get used to managing, and finding a good rotation around your Energy up-keeps is something we all have to find eventually; like Thieves and their initiative. But unlike Thieves, and esp. now that we have a Weapon Swap – EVERYTHING we do practically costs Energy. This is a huge problem. Not only that, but we have Energy costs ON TOP OF Cooldowns to manage, which makes for alot of potential Sustain fighting with the added Burst a nightmare.
My Workaround: What I ended up doing is keeping to one Weapons Set and only swaping if I REALLY needed to, and I mean in dire situations.
SOLUTION: as being currently discussed here, either have our Utilities consume Energy, or our Weapon Skills… but not both. Increase the CD’s of those not using Energy if you think a change like that could make the Class OP if you will, and we’ll test it out for you and we can see how it works, but I really think this would be a decent solution to my Energy problem.
2) Shiro DPS – so far I found this to be slightly weak right now, esp. Sword3. IDK if it’s just me, although a Guild member of mine did echo the same thing – but I feel like there’s some DPS missing when using Sword. Maybe this has something to do with managing the Energy system where at times you find yourself in a situation where you can’t use certain skills because you’re out of Energy, but I think either the Sword or Traits need to be looked at more regarding it’s DPS. To give you an idea of what I mean: in terms of DPS/Burst classes, that can also sustain fights too… there are better classes out there that can simply do that alot better so why bother picking a Revenant for a Burst DPS build atm?
While I’m on the subject of Shiro, there are 2 other points I feel weakens this class, using a Build surrounding Shiro… though the first one could be mitigated if the Damage was boosted on Sword (or even a complete change of Skill); 1) the Heal skill, 2) a lack of independent Retreat:
- 1. The Heal skill seems weak, but I think mainly because of what I talked about before regarding both the Energy and Damage on Sword/Shiro… so it would seem like I’m not stealing much Health back.
- 2. Again, speaking from a WvW/vs. Player perspective, our Teleport’s are targeted, and we only have a stun-break backwards Evade. It’s hard for me to use this Legend currently in a situation going hard as a mofo in fights, deep behind enemy positions, get a burst going and retreat safely away without blowing some major Energy usage omw. Mesmers, Thieves, Warriors even without Stealth can also achieve this… Shiro Rev’s atm no so much. We need a “Blink” or smth similar, something to go HAM with. To give you an idea what it’s like now, it’s like playing an Assassin Champ in LoL, WITHOUT Flash. But ofc this leads me to my final Revenant point…
3. Locked Utilities – I’m fine with locking Utilities if you want to go down that route with this Class, but do you have to deny choices in our Utilities BECAUSE we are currently on a certain Legend? On top of that, each Legend has no multiple options for Utilities so we’re forced to using the same three… and our Opponents will know EXACTLY what we have on our skill-bar if they just see our Legend icon. I mean I can look at other Classes and frankly have no idea what skills they have exactly, With Rev, you know not only the skills, but also the Traits too – all because things seemed tied to each other, so there seems to be little room for diversity. Like I said, IDM the locked Utilities to the Legend you’re currently on, but a few options of Utility choices would be awesome. Weapons also seemed to be tied heavily to Legends but not as much, and with the recent changes to the other weapons before Shiro, it’s slowly breaking away from that Trend.
I had more to talk about, but I forgot some things while writing this down, but I’ll keep adding my feedback to this Thread as and when it comes up.

Posted this on Reddit to what others think of this so far, but would love to get other ppl’s view on my feedback here as well. Do you guys agree with what I said, or disagree? If there’s anything else that’s vital then also do let me know, I really want ANet to read this and, appreciate any comments from the Devs. regarding this too. Thanks.

Tomorrow's PoI: What do you want to know about Pact Commander masteries?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Brit.9726
Why is the auto-loot feature:
1) part of this Mastery, and…
2) a Mastery feature in general?
I mean time-gate something that most games do in the options menu for free because, well, it’s part of the Options>Settings of a game (interaction) just seems silly. How is it anyway related to the Mentor system? Hell forget every question, just…
[w]hy is a QoL/settings feature part of a game unlock (at max level) that, by right, we should have the option of to toggle on or off to begin with?
Much appreciated man! Sooner than I anticipated tbh.
Dude you just made every WvW mesmer everywhere convert to Chrono with Time Marches On.
SLOW ON INTERRUPT! CALLED IT!!
- Activating a shatter gives your illusions super speed. Very clever, I’m liking that.
- Well trait is not worth it imo, no more than 2 wells will be in any build and those cooldowns, even with alacrity, makes the trait unappealing.
- All master traits are legit, hard choice there.
- Lost Time and Chronophantasma are very strong, Quickness on Shatter doesn’t seem able to compete unless traited with Furious Interruption
You and everyone’s Mother called it xD They’ve been showing some love to the Interrupt Build for some time now, so it was no surprise we’d get this too.
Glad these traits got revealed, because now I can start coming up with some post-exp Builds for GvG’s.
Maybe these Guilds just made a good application? Or the Devs just liked them?
In my oppinion they made a realy good choice, at leas in the EU… 3 of them are realy good WvW and GvG guilds, so the devs get some pretty good insight into the GvG scene (i hope)!.How can you write a good app? The app is just info, like names, times, places etc…
Also they will not get a good insight at all. They probably will from Dius, but the other 2 “GvG” guilds I don’t think will give a good “insight” considering one of them is in the wrong tier and one of them dodges constantly.
They’ll get more insight than from your posts here
@Jessica: Glad to have you on board with us, can’t wait to have our first raid together and more!!
This is not likely to be a bug, but it still needs to be reverted asap.
This has to be a bug though – why does it make sense that name of the weapon/armour would be tied to the stats and not the skin… as the skin/look of the gear (+ sigil/runes) is what gives the weapons/armour their names?
I just want to point out to those who say it’s not fair to “grind” in WvW to get what you need to make those Legendary weapons – WvW players have to “grind” a hell of alot more in PvE, than PvE players do in WvW to get the same thing.
And? So, does the fact that it is unfair for WvW players make it any more fair in general?
Don’t try and look past what I posted. I merely just pointed out that fact to the PvE players that felt like they were forced to do WvW.
What I think is fair or unfair in this game – I’m not even going to get into that!
That being said; I’ve read here that apparently you can buy WvW-ranks with laurels now. I didn’t know that either. Was that announced at some point? Maybe ninja-added to patchnotes like the change with the rank-requirement? Or are you supposed to check the vendor on a regular basis for the case he’s selling something new?
That’s been there since they added Liquid WXP. Go to a Laurel vendor in the Borderlands, and go to the tab that sells a ‘Taste of Liquid World Experience’ for 2 Laurels and 50 Badges. One ‘Taste’ gives 5k WXP = 1 rank.

I’m not upset at the idea, just the flip flop anet does with all these things. Pushing the carrot.
Yeah, I can understand that.

ANet: could you please stop reminding us that you can’t party up when doing normal and holiday PvP events please? It sucks already that we can’t do it, so there really is no need to clarify this.
Seeing as they’re merging these threads, I’ll suggest it again – for the new look, please at least for Sylvari’s could you do a similar skin-revealing armour skin when you update it, to either just show or compliment our glow (by compliment, I mainly mean let us have the ability to change the flame glow). Like I said, currently the T3 skin show alot of my character’s glow and it does look awesome at Night, so something like that would be awesome.
*EDIT: I would buy Cultural Sylvari for what I’m suggesting, but I, funnily enough, don’t like ‘plant’ armour xD
Please tell me how much gold all of you complaining lost out on because flamekissed existed for 24 hours.
It depends really. I bought the skin (Sylvari Mesmer btw… yes a Mesmer bought that skin, so what? :P) – thought about applying it over my Aetherblade Light armour I use for WvW – I didn’t in the end as I like that look.
I bought WvW PvT gear with Silver/Gold and Badges of Honor (full set), Melandru Runes 6/6 and that’s all really that’s on the Flamekissed armour of mine. So if the skin is the only thing that’s changed, I’m not losing anything really – just have to either keep the skin that it changes to, or go with something else.
*EDIT: BTW, I paid for the skin by buying Gems with real money.
I am quite heavily satisfied with that look, thus the instant buy when the Patch went live – as others have said, this new look would have to satisfy me more to not ask for a refund – and tbh, also like others have said, going off from what the Medium and Heavy looks like, I’m not holding my breath.
I won’t give out my opinions on the Cultural armour sets and exclusive looks like this because I don’t think you need to know what I think personally. But I will say that I’ll miss this look, even with the flame effect (would be nice if I could ‘Mesmerise’ it).
Instead of getting upset at the pull of the skin, I will give out a suggestion on the new look. That skin, with the flame effects, with the amount of skin showing, ESPECIALLY on a glow-enabled Sylvari looks awesome – so if you could do something like that skin, at least for the Sylvari preview of it where we’re able to show our glowing skin if you will while wearing clothes that isn’t plant based – hence why I don’t have Cultural Sylvari. If you are going to add glowing/flame effects to it, let us AT LEAST change it’s colour to match ourselves fancy.
About the actuality of ANet’s laziness and the re-skin – it is very poor from an artistic point of view indeed, and it looks bad on you guys as Developers for an ongoing MMO with our community. Your excuses in that post did not justify anything really, and you know this. However, glad you were able to see the mistake and do something about it, just wished it never happened in the first place. Like someone posted – this mess-up will upset players whatever you do from here on out.
Did anyone get the actual alpha client login info yet?
Nope, still haven’t got mine.
We’re currently looking for people who are interested in small-scale engagement on the Borders.
Sniper Teams – focusing on capturing Camps, sniping and escorting Dollies, taking out Sentries, distraction teams, picking of stragglers etc.
If small teams interest you, then we want you. We’ll take new players and old – no experience needed – just willing to follow and learn, or lead if that’s your thing. Apply at the link in the OP, and state your reason for joining PCG (last question “What is your reason for joining PCG?”) as ‘WvW Sniper Team’ with a link to this thread.
Thanks for taking the time to read our recruitment post, and hope to hear from you guys soon.

@CptWheezy: I’m gonna disagree on your statement that WvW purist will dislike this (looking at the core idea of EotM, not what it could be doing in the future). But like I said, ANet needs to encourage WvW participation with the EotM, but not force it – a right balance – something that should address the 2 points you made.
If this map will introduce new mechanics who are liked from the large majority of the www population, are the devs considering the chance that this map will steal population from the proper www maps ? Do u believe wich once u create new mechanics into the edge of the mists, those mechanics can be introduced into the old borderlands maybe with a restailing of those maps?
Yes if there are elements of this map that are popular those elements will slowly make their way back towards the borderlands and EB, where it makes sense.
^^ This may be an issue depending on what makes sense to ANet, and what elements they bring over. Again, if it’s mechanics and elements that could help WvW matchups (if it is PvE content, then Mercenary Camps are examples of good PvE in WvW), then they will be a welcome addition. If it’s something like a PvE Bosses or another JP based on the floating islands, then it’s a waste of space on the regular Maps.
As Marcus Greythorne stated, I fear too that WvWvW elitist/purist will dislike this PvE component (would be not the first time): I count on the fact that they will wait to see the mechanics by themselves before making complaints on the forum!
Not that I’m an elitist, though I am a core WvW player – but even the elitist won’t hate anything about this map, as nothing we do in the EotM will add (points) to the overall matchup, i.e. there will be nothing to lose in this map and hence no interference with what we do on a weekly basis. If anything, it will be a gain for WvW playera of all types so there’s nothing to complain about, even at the core idea of EotM.
The only thing that WvW players might ‘complain’ about is that this map becomes more enjoyable and so PUGS and PvE players would rather play there instead – obviously we can’t change what aspects of the game people enjoy. Now if ANet with this map can somehow encourage WvW participation from PvE/PvP players, without forcing it on them and making it feel like ‘you have to do this’, then that could solve that complaint.

I know I should be grateful about this – but I’ve been waiting since the Beta to have this fixed. Waited a year for it, and couldn’t wait any longer. Got rid of my set for the Dolyak set for WvW a few days ago. Now you mention a fix. I’m slightly ticked off here.
How is it fair that those who got their Gifts before today gets another ANet? I mean I honestly don’t care about 2 of the gifts (I don’t do Minis and I’m lvl 80 already so a lvl to 20 scroll is useless), but I do like the booster, mainly for WvW
So why do some characters get 2? I’m not fussed about multiple based on Alts, that’s fair game, but multiple Gifts on Characters?
Yeah, after a year I really feel special, lol.
1 hour of Frostgorge Champ-rotation farming —> 10 Gold
A few Invasion events --> 5-6 Gold each (mostly from Champ boxes)
World vs. World —> 1-2 Gold/hour
How many Invasions and how long I spend in WvW is dependant on the mood, status of of the Server in WvW and real life.
I sell all loot I pick up bar Yellows/Rares which I Salvage; Exotics I sell only if it goes for 1G profit (after TP cut) – any champ weapons I get I don’t sell and keep in Guild Bank, and sell only the mats that are on it’s second stack (for now, waiting until this update ends to sell the rest).
I casually farm, and play the game mainly for it’s objectives and not farming – but even at my level I still get s*** tons of gold, esp. from these last two updates.

Is there a (known) bug with the Map Rotation in ones Custom Arena where it never follows the rotation order you set it? My Guild member has one, and she has every map set in a rotation, but it never seems to follow that rotation. It seems to skip a few maps and goes to whatever on the list!
Anyone else has this or know how to fix it?
@ArenaNet: Are you even acknowledging this? It’s hard to tell when you don’t reply as often whether you know about this (probably do), or if you plan on doing something about it. Are you planning to nerf something, or buff rewards to make completing events more profitable/rewarding? Is there anything you can do to remove this behaviour from chat?
I think it lasts for the next two weeks as well… unless Scarlet does something like blows it up? :S
Brit, I LOVE the armor you have. Which is it?
Apprentice shoes (the starter skin)
Armageddon pants (karma)
Shadow top (purchasable craft pattern, or karma purchase)
masquerade shoulders (crafted)Not sure on her gloves. I cant see them well enough.
Edit: Is it sad that I can so easily recognize the light components? I spend too much time armor shopping….
Hehe Gloves are from the Dry Bones set. I like the combination look of mine, and thanks for the compliments. Took quite a while to get to that look. As for the weapons, it’s an accumulation of everything I got and sold from this event – the last stretch and only proper farm time was the three hours or so in Frostgorge last night. Then finally decided I couldn’t wait any longer and bought them (pink swords)

Also let it be known that people are now seeking out these players and naming them in chat. The farmers are now reporting them for absolutely nothing but killing a champ mob. This is getting out of hand.

1. Male/24
2. Since the Beta Weekend Events. Other MMO’s since January 2012
3. Female Sylvari Mesmer – can’t remember exactly, but what I do know is I took the Whispers route, helped the Quaggans. I’ll put an attachment with my Character Creation selection for you. My reason for choosing them is because of a mixture of what I wanted to do, and if I were my character (taking race/class etc into account) what she would do (for e.g. Mesmers in Order of Whispers seems like a fitting match with our ability to manipulate clones and go invisible).
4. WvW mostly. Then PvE in the open areas. I have done instances in the past, but I generally like openness more.
5. Her armour slightly. Most female Mesmers I see where dresses, and things that are generally pretty and attractive. Mine, for the most parts, looks like it just came from a battle or is commanding one (with my old Exotic chest I had, the same set as the Blindfold headpiece).
6. Nothing I can thinks of; I’m doing everything I want to that’s in-game right now.
@White Raven: 8/10 – mainly because of the helmet makes your Asuran look Oriental, and I used to have that Staff
This is my Sylvari Mesmer. I farmed about 165 gold from this update to get those two swords —> which looks awesome on Mesmers
What’s your commander tag btw Brit? I have only seen pretty good commanders on Desolation where I do this. Most of the time people listen, only once I have seen people ignoring everyone and keep on attacking.
I don’t have a Commander Tag (but character’s Neria Cindel), and yeah most of the Comms on there are friendly and helpfully. But again, some regular players aren’t. Again, I know FG has less of the abuse and more people willing to do what the zerg is doing, but abuse is still there. I’ve actually not been on where Comms where the ones giving the abuse, so I can’t really say much about that.
Mainly during the Aetherblade Event next to the Drake Champ – where people ask you not to kill the Captain, but players do anyway. Again, small presence as opposed to CS, but abuse can still be seen – and I’ve been playing in FG for quite a while with my Guild over there yesterday.
Well that is just people being stupid imo. If you are farming champs, some more are a nice addition right? So if they explain not to kill the captian too fast it will spawn more, and they choose to ignore that I will say something about it. It’s just so dumb.
I also like more Champs, and like a lot of people am willing to delay or fail an event to get more loot. But like I said, I will not say anything (abusive) to those players that do kill the Captain – bar explaining to them WHY we don’t want to kill the mob so quick so they know next time, if they didn’t already. Let them play as they want though. It spawns multiple times, so why the child like behaviour from some people?
Why are you including farmers in Frostgorge Sound in this stereotype?
Because the Chat abuse is still present there at times. Though not as often as CS, it still isn’t absent completely. I’ve only been in those two areas also so I don’t know where else other people farm – hence why CS/FG in the discussion.

And I’m not bashing anyone aside from those abusing players in Map Chat, which I kid you not FG also has.

I feel I need to make this post as it’s a cause for a bit of concern within Desolation, and probably elsewhere.
As you may have known, the recent content update brought some changes to the Champ loot – making them more rewarding to kill, and anything higher than Champs etc. This means that PvE players have started rotating various Champs in some of the map, most notably Frostgorge and Cursed Shore.
Ultimately, this means that with the loot being better, PvE players are finding optimal, more rewarding means of getting loot – even if that means delaying or even as far as failing an event (Anchorage – CS) just to spawn a lot of Champion mobs to get more loot. Personally I’m fine with that, as it’s more rewarding – why not right?
What I’m not fine with is the vile, most poisonous attitude that follows when players actually go out and complete the events instead of failing it, or killing Champ mobs before a big zerg gets there. These ‘farmers’ are calling them names in open chat such as ‘d***’ or ‘fa**ot’, or general abuse towards them, their families etc etc. This is by far the most atrocious display of behaviour I’ve seen in GW2 and on Desolation by far in the one year I’ve been playing this game, and I’m not having it.
It is completely okay, in my mind, to play PvE content as you please (so long it’s within the game rules), as it’s open for all with no real common goal but what you make it. I’m neither against players intentionally failing events for better loot. But bollocking players for ACTUALLY completing an event and playing events THE WAY IT’S MEANT TO BE PLAYED – and not failing it is outright unacceptable, especially to the level Map Chat has been displaying in the last few days/week or so.
These players, when they don’t get what they want.. then proceed to guest on other servers just to fail events. It also seems that players also may guest to us, but I’m not sure whether that’s true or not.
Anyway, I thought I’d post this just to let you know how I feel about this matter. I know it’s easy to not pay attention to Map Chat and not get caught up in it, but I can’t ignore it when it’s this bad – I’m sorry. I do my best to defend players on the Map that want to play the content the way they feel like, but I ultimately feel like I get caught up in these moments, I get so p***ed off that I cannot take it anymore.
