Wow look at you baddy Berserker’s blaming your bad gear on “bugs”. If you had more defensive gear like Sentinel’s you wouldn’t be so reliant on dodging, you would have less downs and a faster run….

After the skills Whirling Wrath, Binding Blades (Guardian GS), Warrior Axe #2 and Whirlwind Attack and Ranger GS Autoattack third hit, when you dodge your dodge gets interrupted like halfway, endurance goes away but you don’t get evade frames.
Directly after Whirlwind Attack you can’t even dodge without spamming it until all your endurance goes away (sometimes not even then getting evade frames).
All skills but Whirlwind Attack have been bugged for a long time, whirlwind attack just since 15/10th patch. Since 15/10th patch you sometimes even get those fumble dodges when you haven’t been using any skill, like when carrying Blood of the Ancient in Arah Path 1.
Really annoying bug with the games core mechanic, in comparison to all non exploitish bugs this should be priority one. Can’t even believe it hasn’t been fixed (but made worse) in one year.
This is like all the other topic. I want to play whatever way I want.
But I dont’ want other people to play the way they want.
This guy understands.
It’s casual elitism in its greatest form.
I think the point I am making is…
On paper 1w/1r/1eng/1ele/1m is the highest dps party comp in the game give or take. Yet in most cases, speed runs are faster with 4w/1*.
The difference in times between the paper dps group and the real world is what intrigues me. Obviously the answer is shouts are instant cast and can be done on the move, and warriors are the only class besides engie that are good at might stacking AND vuln stacking. And unlike engie they can do it on the run. But nonetheless, I do like exploring that gap in paper and reality.
Ok seriously, stop saying that guys. Anyone who is trying to learn should NOT be learning without energy sigils. The only people who should be running without energy sigils are the ones who are well aware that they are not a necessity. It is serving of no benefit aside from an attempt to display your knowledge or just to brag. When learning to melee lupi you should be taking every precaution available, it will take you weeks to learn and probably a couple days just to be able to consistently pass phase 1 and there is no reason to gimmp yourself.
Again I will repeat, anyone who can benefit from not using energy sigils in their runs knows quite well that they are not a necessity. So stahp.

I will never have a padawan cause I am in EU, people dont want help here
Sure they do, it’s just not always easily given.
If you’re still looking for an Arah Padawan, I’d be happy to pull off the ridiculous crop + braid Jedi hairstyle! Got a fully geared cleric guardian with ascendeds. Only done p3&4, but I would like to learn it well to be able to run it more often.
first teaching
clerics gear is a lie, there is only zerker
through zerker sou gain dps
through dps you gain experience
through experience your noob-chains are broken

My friends, we have become the batmen of the dungeon forums. We are the heroes the forums deserves, but not the ones it needs right now. So the modbots will hunt us. Because we can take it. Because we’re not heroes.. We’re silent guardians. Watchful protectors. Elitist Knights.

On the other hand I don’t know why I took the bate and reply… the fact that you don’t think 44% critical chance is not enough to constantly land critical hits, is depressing enough.
This is yet another example of logic and feelings.
Logic: “44% critical chance gives my attacks 44% chance to be a critical strike.”
Feeling: “44% critical chance allows me to crit constantly”.
I’m sorry but with stuff like this people here will never take you seriously.
CC isnt even required on dangerous mobs because of the mountain of dps people have, watch them red bars shoot down before the mobs do anything… and then there’s defiant.
Try Dredge at fotm 79 and tell me that cc isn’t important.
Build diversity is the issue and people are being punished for going another route the game offers. Let’s hope the October 15th update helps with some of the frustration.
It won’t. Here is what I said two months ago about “support builds” and the scrubs who want them…
“A lot of players are used to traditional trinity MMO where a “support” character could hang around in the back out of danger buffing his team not really using any twitch or micro skills and get carried through content because even though his skills are low, the character type is important enough to warrant inclusion and thus the lazy man has a path to success. The lazy and less skilled players gravitate to support/midline roles because it allows them to blend into the background for the most part. They don’t get special credit when a raid goes well, but its also usually not their fault when it fails.
Not saying this description applies to everyone who wants to play a dedicated support character, but it certainly describes a significant enough portion of them to make it the rule not the exception.
As I have said in other threads on this topic, this is an action MMO. You can’t reach the top by playing a support necro who sits at 1200 range with staff auto, casting wells on cool down. You have to be in the mix pulling your weight. If this isnt appealing, this probably isnt the game for you.”
The runway was dark, the lights were blinding, the alcohol was wearing off, and the crowd was explosive. It was Wethospu’s turn to walk the runway in the Dungeon Forum Fashion Show, and the laughter could be heard by insects inhabiting the grass outside of the building. Tomatoes and various types of rotten fruit were thrown onto the stage as Wethospu’s horrific armor set and dye choices caused chaos and headaches that could only be rivaled by an episode of Jerry Springer.
Wethospu fled the stage and retreated back into the gates of The Ruined City of Arah, his only home in Guild Wars 2. Here he could be at peace, observing the fashion trends of his undead friends and whispering gentle words to them as the mindlessly wandered through the ancient sand. “I’ll show them all. I’ll make a video of a Lupicus solo and it will change the world. People will know my name, and I will be the best there is.”
Operative Belka was first on the list, and just like any snobby Inquest would do, she ridiculed Wethospu’s fashion sense like the rest had before her. When Wethospu put away his Longbow and drew his Greatsword, though, Belka knew that this would be a different encounter than she was used to. Most pugs with their projectile spamming circle strafe tactics were no match for her reflection, but a Greatsword? Surely she could counter this. The fight was soon over, and the tiny Asura lay on the ground beaten and bruised with Wethospu’s hideous boot planted on top of her head.
Next up was the Abomination. The run past the Spiders and Sentinels was simple, because none were willing to approach such a man crazy enough to shroud his body in garments so distasteful. The hideous Abomination mumbled unintelligible sentences in a deep voice and approached Wethospu without any fear of his wardrobe disaster, for the Abomination was a being above clothes. Nudity would prevail in this fight, surely, but this was not the case as Wethospu outmaneuvered the beast and gracefully side-stepped his slow attacks. The great Abomination fell; undead blood and guts spilled from the stitches strewn across its body and covered the ancient sand below.
Next was his final stop: Giganticus Lupicus. Robert Hrouda (RIP) had warned him about this one. He approached the undead monstrosity with his chest puffed out, proudly displaying his horrendous armor. Lupicus awoke and rose from his position in the arena, revealing an indentation in the ground from having rested there so long. Lupicus would not be beaten by such a small man with a lack of fashion sense, and threw his arms into the air to summon a barrage of energy-infused projectiles onto Wethospu’s position. Wethospu’s Riposte blocked the projectiles, and it was followed by a Rush straight towards the undead behemoth. The fight drew on for several minutes, but the beast grew tired. It had taken too many critical hits, and the Eviscerate was more than it could handle. Lupicus fell into the center of the arena, and Wethospu wiped the blood and sweat from his already disgusting armor.
Armed with footage of defeating the most challenging boss in the game, Wethospu returned to the next year’s Dungeon Forum Fashion Show. This time sporting a new dye scheme, Wethospu strolled proudly onto the runway. Rotten fruit in hand and ready to be thrown, the crowd paused as the screen behind began to display footage of the brave Warrior’s feats. Jaws and hands dropped to the ground, and praise was given to the Warrior Wethospu for his great success.
In the back of the room, a cloaked figure rose and began to exit the building. Removing the long, black cloak, a Sylvari Warrior dressed in ancient Orrian armor with a dye scheme to rival Wethospu’s headed off to Cursed Shore. Now it was Strife’s turn.

We all had expectations that weren’t fufilled over the course of a year. People didn’t start getting angry overnight. It was because of the actions the devs took that caused it. Over a year of short comings and other nonsense is what sparked all of this.
I would argue it’s the lack of communication from the developers – or worse, outright lies (we expect everyone to have exotic gear by the time they reach the level cap; we didn’t expect players to get exotic gear so quickly) – that’s caused most of the contentiousness we’ve got on the forums these days.
what am i…
…what is this…
wut do
I feel like… they miiiight be listening, but then somehow Professor X very carefully avoids adding that Catalyst beaker we place adjacent to their experiment, and instead they very predictably add the same beaker of sparkle quaggan gunk instead only to have 3 MojoJoJo’s pop out of the mixture
That’s their entire development process…. they listen to everything, and then only “take” the advice they were going to DO ANYWAY. …instead of taking the suggestions that truly are innovative, risky, or atleast similar to GW1’s solutions for similar problems.

While I appreciate this idea of “collaboration” between the team and the community, I won’t believe it until I see it… And the track record is not proving positive.

If you refuse to respect others because they don’t use the “best” skills/gear/weapons, then you are a bad player. And a jerk
Well, let me tell you why my group kicked 3 people from LFG when we were advertising for a frac 38 full Zerg.
First Warrior: random gears with Rune of Bealfire, Rune of Orrian, Rune of Night Mare.
Second Mesmer: random gears with Rune of Bealfire, Rune of Nightmare, Rune of Noble.
Third Warrior: Zerk with Rune of Bealfire, Rune of Centaur, Rune of Traveler.
You see the problem here? Honestly even if I’m asking for zerk, I probably won’t kick if they link a full Knight set with full Ruby or Obal or Sapphire. Maybe not idea in my term but at least I know the player put time and afford into gearing a set that works for him. Calling us however you wish, but those 3 above are exactly why we have to ask pug to ping their gears because a lot spend no afford whatsoever. How can you ask other to accommodate you while you don’t even bother to accommodate yourself?
Adding insult to injury is that the post was very clear about asking for zerk only, and I seriously doubt they didn’t read. A few weeks ago I pug an AC asking for lvl 80 only. A dude at lvl 68 joint, and as soon as he joint he said “oh shoot didn’t know it’s 80 only”. But guess what, the dude didn’t leave, we wait for a couple minutes before kicking him. At that point we’re pretty sure that he did read the post, join anyway and was hoping for us to say “nah it’s ok”. And no, I’m not going to debate about AC being a lvl35 dungeon, the point is he and the other 3 players are looking for free pass by leeching off a group they know can do thing quickly and I can assure you, there are more of them then there are the people you called elitist.
Again, I’m pretty sure most of these people did read the advertisement, and because they do they know the run will most likely be fast so they try to fish their way in. When they’re found out and get kicked, they come to the forum and complain about other being elitist (of course without mentioning the fact that they wish they can leech of a run of said group).

This is a good idea but needs to be introduced slightly different, I’d say once you acquire dungeon master title, this idea should be a perk of the title to make it more valuable to go after.
If you refuse to respect others because they don’t use the “best” skills/gear/weapons, then you are a bad player. And a jerk
What blows me away is that people in this game call themselves casual and wear it like a badge of honor as though playing badly and making mistakes are something to be proud of. How many times do you hear “oh i know the best spec/gear/etc but id rather play …”? They are making a conscious decision to play worse then they are capable of being.
and the thing is they talk down to those of us who work on being better on playing better on becoming the best of the best. They tell us we aren’t allowed to dictate how they play. Its their game too and its their choice, but don’t you dare kick them from a group or they will start posting to reddit about how you scammed them out of their tokens.
Anet should make an addendum to their statement “Play how you want, but don’t expect others to put up with you.”

oh kitten my poppy tree got chopped
“I’m gonna play how I wanna play!”
-Casual scumbag, makes runs take 16 hours, no friends, probably hates freedom, uses white weapons and armor
“You’re gonna play how I want you to play!”
-Elite alpha pro, runs take less than 10 seconds, gets laid often, bathes in gold and glory, solos dungeons sans weapons and armor through sheer willpower
After some extensive tank-and-spank sessions I noticed something weird. Slaying potions actually make you take MORE damage, not less.
I tested this with Undergrowth Webber on new TA path getting hit multiple times with and without Nightmare Court Slaying. Then I went to Arah and tested same with Undead Slaying on Orrian Villager.
You will still deal more damage so at least that part works.
They should just remove jump so its just like gw1. Problem solved.
I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don’t have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you retract this idea now, that’ll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you – in wvw.
Next band aid, remove leap (or cripple it) in all skills.
Next band aid, remove xxx …
