This seemed to work on Windows 8.1 (latest updates): disabling “Automatically detect settings” in the Network > Proxy control panel.
Not sure if this was just coincidence, or something else was fixed. Perhaps the new launcher is more sensitive to network issues / crappy proxy detection? I had previously tried basically everything everybody else had in this thread (repair, run as admin, disable firewall/av, uninstall/attempt to reinstall).
It’s a simple setting to test out, so it might be worth a shot.
YMMV.
This is working for me as well, I’m on windows 7.

We still haven’t figured out the problem. We are doing two things now: we are adding logging so that if Coherent crashes you can send us a crash.dmp file (if you’re willing) so we can see what’s going on; and we’ve asked for help from the people that make Coherent. The logging will come out in the next hotfix. We’ll post the latest executable at GuildWars2.com in case -nopatchui isn’t working for you so the logging will occur when you next try to patch.
I’ll help however possible. As I said, if it’ll help to have remote access to an affected machine, email me or otherwise contact me and you can comb through mine.
It’s not fixed, I’m simply not loading the trading post. It’s a work around, the shortcut everyone has listed.
Thanks for the information on whether you could see CoherentUI_Host.exe running even though Guild Wars 2 was not running. Sounds like the answer was universally “no”.
The fact that rebooting fixes this problem (at least for some people) is very interesting and we’re looking into it.
The question was “why change a thing that is working”? The answer is that the old launcher was very limited in functionality. Even though this launcher looks the same, we can do way cooler things with it in the future.
Switching launchers was pretty low risk (we thought) in that we had it running in China and internally for many months. I know that statement doesn’t help anyone that is blocked. We are working on fixing this; so far we’ve had a hard time finding a common problem amongst those reporting the error and we can’t reproduce it internally at all which makes debugging it hard.
Sorry for the inconvenience! We take pride in how accessible the game is and we’re working hard to fix this.
BTW, the -nopatchui and -email and -password option is a good short term workaround, if it works for you. Since there is no patch ui, you don’t know how much progress is being made while it patches, so the only way you’ll know it finished patching is that suddenly you login. The patch is about 380 megabytes, BTW.
The short term fix works for me.
I tried a few other things prior to implementing this.
- Starting in safe mode (with only network support) – still crash
- Following all the recommendations about moving the game, running as admin, disabling anti-virus – still crash
My initial thought was 64 bit operating systems, but this isn’t exclusive to that.
EDIT: If it would help to have remote access to an affected machine, I can offer that, just send me an email or set up another method to provide pertinent details.

This is happening for triple trouble too, can no longer reflect the eggs spit by the wurm.
The Triple Trouble wurm appears to be bugged. No reflect skill appears to be able to reflect the eggs spit by the wurm. This makes the event nearly impossible to complete.
Members of TTS have posted video and included detailed steps several times on this topic. We have even offered to reproduce for developers if they care to come observe.
During tequatl, we burned too well during a burn phase, and he flew off as if for the next battery phase, and vanished.
This bug has occurred for many months, it was greatly reduced when tequatl’s health was increased. However on the patch on Tuesday May 20, the mega laser started contributing damage again and has thrown this off.
What are the rewards for a match win changing to?
I see the rank up, but nothing shedding light on what changes to match win are occurring, if any.
On Gates of Madness, at the 7:00PM (server time) spawn, the Cobalt Wurm Head spawned on phase 2 and dove into the eastern waters (for seemingly no reason), swam around for a while, dug a hole, and re-appeared in the center of the spawn area.. This was a loss of an entire thirty seconds during the two minute “head-finishing-off” phase. The zerg was stacked in the North-Western side of the event area, and there didn’t seem to be any reason for the Wurm to make a beeline for the water.
TTS is running this again, very carefully. Just don’t burn so much that he hits 75% before flying off.
We are currently unaware of any incoming fix, though we can hope that on Tuesday something might be included.
I too want to add my appreciation for the support team. I have filed two tickets in the past couple weeks, and while they could only help me resolve one of the two, the professionalism and speed of service was amazing. Kudos and thank you support team!
Some additional details about the state the event was in when the bug occurred will greatly help us track and narrow down exactly what’s happening. Some things to consider:
- What state was the event in when the bug concurred?
- Did you push TQ to 25% while he was still in his weakened state?
- Did the timer remained paused as though to kick off the Battery events, but nothing happened?
- Does this only occur at 25%? Has anyone seen the same issue at 50%?
Any additional details you can think of go a long way in tracking down bugs reported on the forums!
As noted above Teq bugs in the following scenario.
We start as normal, burning tequatl down to 75% with the zerg, and turrets firing to disperse his skills.
First Battery defence runs as normal, we complete it successfully and run back to beach to burn tequatl while stunned. We do enough damage to burn all the way through his health to drop him to 50%, before he wakes up from stun (if we do not burn him down before he wakes up, the event doesn’t bug). He flies off as to start a battery phase, and vanishes, the defence event does NOT come up, time keeps ticking.
While time is continuing to tick we stand on the spot where tequatl usually is on the ground and damage, the timer continues to tick, this is a slow and akward process, and bone walls go up periodically as turrets cannot reduce scales.
When Tequatl hits 25% health, he appears briefly, flies off and vanishes, the turrets defence flash up, then back off, and time remains stopped. The animation appears to be the failure animation. Tequatl is no where to be seen. We can continue to hit tequatl on his spot on the beach and kill him, and successfully get the rewards for killing tequatl, but losing out on a small chest for successfully defeating a battery phase (I think it was the rare one I didn’t get).
PS apologies for the mess of text, I cannot seem to get the formatting to continue to number correctly

I reported this bug earlier, I can confirm that if you burst him too hard this bug occurs. Here’s a video of our TxS run, we’ve started to burst him slower instead
.
TTS encountered the same. As long as we are not chaining burn phases it seems to be ok, the moment chain burn phases happen, the invisibility seems to rear it’s head.

I had the same problem on an expensive laptop and it was solved by adjusting the CPU usage limit from the factory setting of 100% on the high end to 95-99%. I was skeptical at first when tech support suggested this but immediately the issue was solved and has not happened since.
I hope this helps you
I too filed a support ticket, and got this. I’ve only been running it two days, but I haven’t crashed in LA, or at tequatl or the wurm (maxed overflows).
Basically they suspect it’s an issue with unlocked processors. Capping processor use at 99% maximum usage should not really adversely affect your performance, might be worth a try.
Thanks for getting back to us!
Your CPU has a built-in Turbo Boost option, which will raise the cores speeds based on load. This is a feature of the CPU model you purchased, marked with the (k) for Intel or the “AMD Black Edition” for AMD. Any CPU’s of these series are able to run faster than intended, automatically, without you doing or changing anything. This can often lead to freezing or crashing in applications that are not expecting this to occur.
Since this situation simulates over-clocking, I’d still like to try to disable this, and for that I have included some instructions for a work around below:
•Go into Power options (Control panel → Hardware and Sound → Power Options) and click “Change plan settings” near your plan
•Then click on “Change advanced power settings.”
•Scroll down to “Processor power management” and expand it.
•Expand “Maximum processor state” and modify the setting to 99%. Be sure to also set the minimum processor state to something below the maximum. I recommend 5%.
•Then simply click “Apply” and “OK.”After this has been done try launching the game again. When you do, the turbo boost feature should refrain from kicking in and that may resolve the issue you’ve been experiencing.

Same issue, crashing at large scale events still. Attaching Crash dump, which was also submitted via the error message dialog box.

Still happening, just had same error again. Sent the error report to ArenaNet
End boss fight, got knocked off cliff, died at bottom. Body did not respawn to top platform. First boss dies, free resurrect.. but wait, I’m still stuck at the bottom.
Look around, hop of tiny ledge I’m one, downed, and lo, I teleport up to the top.
Sadly the Molten Firestorm is waiting with his field, and I’m downed and in it, with no possible way to recover from downed state, and allies cannot reach me.
Can you please do something about the bug below, and consider respawning players in the middle?
To note I have run gw2.exe with the -repair flag, and I have also deleted the gw2 cache directory in:
\\Users\MyUserName\AppData\Local\Temp\gw2cache-{38A7AA56-5BCC-16F2-55AA-A738CC5BF216}
As a note this happens since Origins of Madness. I had been posting this in the bug forum, which is probably not the right location for such. As a note I did send an error report that popped up in, but thought I’d post here as I know several more people are having this issue as well.
I play for many hours without issue, and then I go big events with many people, and my game application is crashing entirely. There has been some talk that this is due to opening the trading post, but I’m not sure about that.
The facts I know are I can run around do world events, wvw and go to LA without issue. All of a sudden I go to tequatl, and in middle of fighting, the application flat out crashes, throwing up the error message box. I have noted it seems to occur when the camera is turning.
I am running in windowed mode.
I am also attaching the crash dump (I put in text file)

I say thanks to all the players that stuck in there with us, and kept coming out even after other servers beat the wurm.
It was a lot of fun, and our letters at the end were epic.
I have been encountering the same issues. I play all night fine, all over, but I go do tequatl and crash in the middle of the zerg on 2nd or 3rd burn phase.
Surprise promotion. XP Booster and Res Orb for 0 gems. 1 of each available at the price of 0 gems.
This is actually what i think to be very stupid, you have to do this crap perfectly with 150 people who have the best stuff in the game, who know what to do, who knows what combo fields and finishers are, who listen, who don’t spam 1 etc… Pretty much impossible with PUG’s, i’m sorry but this is just insulting and selfish for new players, because most of the players from high populated servers will camp forever on the map.
Perfect no. You do have to be willing to teach people. Also when you fail, look at what made you fail.
TTS has been running overflows, and taking whoever gets there. Majority is TTS, but some are not. We took to running practice with combo fields and blast finishers. WE summon Trading posts and crafting stations so people can get gear together.
We seem to be getting pretty close to consistently burning the wurms down and getting to the heads phase. People are watching, learning, and providing feedback and suggestions, and we’re getting better everytime.
Is this difficult content? Very much so. Is it a challenge to strive towards, yes! Are a great number of servers going to beat it as the fight currently is? Not too likely. Has Arenanet said they will look at it? Yes, just not right away. Is the wurm going away? No.
There is a lot of content for smaller groups, or individuals already. I appreciate they put something in to challenge a full map, and made it difficult enough that people are in fact losing sleep over it trying to beat it.
This thread however was to congratulate Desolation for being the first to actually best it.
Congratulations Deso, you guys did it.
TTS will soon!
Open on Isle of Janthir
Thanks to the individuals for leading the invasion forces and to all the players who came to help out
Try the temple of Lyssa. That one took considerably longer than before. That and Melandru certainly scaled much better than previously, they are certainly no longer as easy as they were. Grenth seems a little harder, but I think that might have been sheer number of noobs.
After months of collection, I finished Meteorlogicus tonight.
Not the legendary I really wanted, anyone want to trade Sunrise for Meteorlogicus? I have not soulbound it.
If I had the Sunrise- then it might have been a maybe- I find the meteorlogicus gorgeous! Ive never seen one in person.
Why did you craft it if you didn’t want it?
Because at least it might get me enough coins to either trade/buy sunrise, or get a good start on it. Storm was the precursor I got from the Karka event at Halloween. Been trying to make a precursor (dawn/dusk) since and not succeeded. At some point you have enough of the grind and make what you got and try for the result a different way.

hahaha ‘Not the legendary I really wanted’ look in the chat, trying to swap it :P
Got a bit depressing throwing a fortune at the mystic toilet. Made the legendary I got. At the rate Dawn keeps rising, I’ll never afford the precursor, even if I sell meteorlogicus.

Post your research, lets see how different the 10x and 1x recipies really are.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mystic_Clover/Drop_rate
The table isn’t so much concerned with number of output items as what the output of each item was.
For those of you recording clover data, please add it to the wiki page:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mystic_Clover/Drop_rate
For myself, I made mine when FoTM opened, and I used the 10 recipie mostly, and I would say I used ~250 shards to get my 77 clovers.
EDIT: I’ve updated the drop rate table to a more useful format I hope. I filled in data from referenced off site sheets, but I haven’t made any clover myself in a while.

I just levelled up my alt, and I didn’t get any fine transmutation stones as rewards at all from any of the level 80 zone completions.
I wasn’t hoping for a lodestone gnome. What I was hoping for was the mystic binding agents would actually be useful and let you transform lodestones of different types into the more demanded versions.
I was really hoping that the agents were a way to transmute one type of lodestone/core/shard into another. Glacial, Crystal, Molten stones might have seen a price rise and others a decrease, evening out the whole market a little.
I don’t ask for a lodestone giver gnome, just a bit more eveness in the price across all of them, so the price gougers quit controlling the entire market.
More reports, and it seems its been an ongoing issue:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Hero-Pane-My-Story-list-bug
Twilight doesn’t count. Sunrise does. I don’t think they have ever fixed this
I reported the same issue a couple days ago:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Hero-Panel-My-Story
So I’m having an issue with the My Story Panel on the Hero screen. I was trying to review what choices I made with my first character but when I scroll past “Estate of Decay”, the rest of the panel shows blank.
I restarted the client, switched out characters a few times, still encountering this issue.
Attaching two screenshots. First one down as far as I can see, the second scrolled a bit more and everything in the list vanishes.
As a note I’ve tried two versions of Nvidia’s Geforce Drivers (306.97, 310.90)

Sorrow’s Embrace Path 2, not bad till the end.
Mark I, not bad, Mark II, can’t dodge enough to escape all his electric fields. Given it’s taking about 1/4 of your health every second or so, and he’s spreading 3-4 fields at a time, it is nearly impossible to complete. Can’t use CC. Case of boss being overtuned.
Fixed with brief patch just now.
Thanks much Area Net!
Same problem for me. 5 of us run dungeon. First trip of the day I think for everyone.
At any rate group got rewards of:
60 tokens
45 tokens
30 tokens
1 token
Not sure on last.
Trip took a good hour.
