MARA is a PvX guild with main focus on PvE. We did a lot of skirmish in GW1 and have been waiting for it to come around to GW2.
It’s very sad that we can not participate in the arenas in the beta. With +800 members being able to participate in this in the beta, would had helped us to start planning and structuring it, and might have encouraged the guild members more to sponsor it.
I really hope we will get an open beta for this.

I’d like to add some detail to what Gaile wrote above.
It was not possible to perform this exploit with an unmodified game client. Those who performed it knew exactly what they were doing.
As a normal player of the game, you shouldn’t have to worry that you might get banned for doing something that you didn’t think was wrong. We know it’s a very serious action to ban an account, and we don’t want to take that action arbitrarily or subjectively. Our goal is to only ban when we’re sure that the account maliciously participated in the exploit, or was used for muling or distributing the proceeds.
In this case we made a mistake and banned some unrelated accounts. It was human error, and we apologize. We unbanned most of them in a batch last night. But, upon reviewing appeals, we can see that we missed some, so we’re going through and unbanning those too.
We review appeals thoroughly. Anyone who believes he or she was unfairly banned only has to write to us to get a clear answer.

Since this topic first came up it have been a hot topic in our guild and have been discussed over and over as many have been unsecured about what the exploit was and did they do something that wasn’t allowed without knowing it. This explanation will mean a great relief to a lot of gamers.

If it’s made so only your squad can see it they will have to make the squad much bigger than what it is now (50 I think) that isn’t enough for community events at all or for large guilds.
The icon/hat over the commander should be changeable.
Join squad and be able to rally to the commander in pve areas is a good idea.
(Unfortunately this will be miss used as so may have commander and have effect on the wp money sink, unless people will have to pay to rally)

Would be nice if you could dye the particle effect on the weapons. Being a thief that is almost all people notice on my daggers, the particle effects.

In GW2 there are big cities and it could be possible for players to “rent” apartments and houses there so they don’t become isolated in some instance(s) and all you use it for is extra storage.

I don’t have a legendary, I don’t even have a precursor. I might plan to get one at some point.
They shouldn’t be easier to get, it wouldn’t be fair to those who already worked hard to get one and those who is working on getting it, and in a year those who want one got one.
With that said, it could had been done in another way, because I think it’s very confusing or add more options to get one.

Guild banks are there for a reason, members influence helped building the bank so imo the bank belong to the members.
We do make our members aware of, that using it is on their own risk as we have had people steal from it too and leaving the guild. As soon as we see someone have gone over the top, we take away their access and take no further action until we can get in touch with them. We have had members who have had their account hacked and it was the hacker who stole the stuff.
Because of that, all items from rare and up and gold they are asked to be send to officers whom put them into the guild’s stashes.

I must say, when I first saw this video the beginning made me think about another new mmo, that came out around the same time as GW2 (which shall stay unnamed by me). To me it made a lot of sense if you know what the other mmo is.
A bit the same were done in another commercial for another mmo few years ago.

This is the best April Fools I have ever seen in the game industry and I have linked it many times in our forum. Unfortunately it seems to have been taken away from it’s original link and I was wondering if it’s still up somewhere looking like the other professions did, with different videos for skills and discription?
I know some Arena Net people staid a weekend and made this and it does deserve to stay on line as it was.

Binding Blade say it has the same range as Leap of Faith, which is 600 but I feel the range is much shorter for BB.
Many times when I try to drag a foe to me, the BB doesn’t hit but when I use Leap of Faith I will hit them. I have played the guardian long enough to know who I can leap to and who I can pull and imo the distance isn’t the same.
I haven’t experienced this in any other professions skills.

I was wondering if it’s possible to infuse jewels in the forge that already have agony resistance added to the infusion slot?
I know I would probably loose the infusion in the slot, but atm I have no essence at all to make the ring infused, so it would be nice if I could do it later.
Does anyone have any experience with this?

I’m sorry but I am still confused.
The achievement say that I have earned 10.000 influence, but when I look at the guild roster I have under 4000 influence beside my name.
I know what achievements are and I know what influence is use for, I would just like to know where the difference between 10.000 and 4000 (6000) influence went, as I have never seen that amount of influence on the guild roster from anyone.
Is it, that I during my time in GW2 at some point have collected 10.000 influence and would they (10.000) had been visible in the guild roster if we hadn’t used any of it for upgrades? Or do some of the influence go directly into the guild influence pool?

We found a way to figure this out. Add the names of those who left to your friend list and they will show up on the guild bank log.
I contacted the person but he didn’t care., but on our server forum there is a watch list where people who do stuff like this is added.
We do have officers online almost 24/7 but the guild bank is for the members and we have decided to keep part of it fully open for them to deposit and withdraw, though we do ask that they send stuff higher than gold and money to officers to be deposited in the guild stash which is locked to the members. This will be used for guild events as rewards.
Trusting people is taking a chance, but that doesn’t mean we should put up with it.

In the Achievements there is one called Active Guild Member. 10,000 Influence Earned and it’s completed. But when I look at Total Points (Points earned) it’s not 10,000 points of influence.
So, what are those 10,000 influence?

It would be nice if peoples names would stay on the guild bank log, even after they left the guild to prevent this. We do know who it is as they left the guild right after but some guilds might not monitor their guild bank as often as we do.

It’s a real pain, not only with dungeon runs but also if you have an event where you need to pass around stuff to a lot of players.
The same goes for guilds, where we sometimes would like to send in game mails to everyone (not all members use forums)
I’m hoping they will implemented something, so it will be possible to send more than 2 mails out to guild members and group members?
It’s really a set back for the community that the players are punished for spammers actions, but it’s a easy way out.

When it was possible to change password for GW1 I had to go do it on my NCSoft account and were told in a mail that those two accounts, the NCSoft account and the GW2 account wasn’t connected.

Exactly! It have nothing to do with “someone” getting nicer stuff than me (eg. I’m fine with how the legendary weapons are required and hats of to those who get one, hard work most of them go through) it have something to do with that daily and monthly are a large part of the game, and please read my post again. There are some things that are difficult to for some people to do and as it is have been said, we are customers. “If you don’t like it then don’t do it” (if you don’t like it don’t play the game?) I’m not sure that is in the spirit of a gaming company or any company.
Players create communities and socializing systems, game companies can choose to back it up or not.

I have question.
We were asked to use the same password for GW2 as we did for GW1. Last time I looked it wasn’t possible to change the GW1 password.
How will changing the GW2 password effect the GW1 password?

The guild I’m in, we have a lot of older players who have problems with their motor co-ordination and who never will be able to do the jumping puzzles, therefore they will never be able to complete the holiday achievements or other achievements that include jumping puzzles.

It would definitely be an add on to the game if they implemented that and I can’t see the reason why they shouldn’t, it’s a very popular feature in a lot of other games. I play a game where you hardly see people in normal armour, everyone has their armour skinned and you have a large selection to choose from, bought with “gems”.

In MARA we have several commanders, witch are made for wvwvw.
When we do large guild events in pve we use a commander for people to follow. It would be nice, if we could get a different tag, maybe guild bound(?) as many feel uncomfortable with running a commander in pve.

I really like the idea that you can use armour to skin with and not just a few skin types.
I suggest they make “skin” tabs for the armour in stead of.
Every time I want to put a new skin on my armour I loose the one I have already on it, witch mean, I never skin my armour but go for what I want and that is it.
As town clothes are more than just armour, I can understand why it have to stay as it is, but they could also be sold as “skins”.

I have thought about this as well because not all players do everything in the game. So how can everyone get their daily and monthly done playing more or less as they are used to?
Create one category in Achievements and call it Monthly. Make a lot of different tasks in it, with eg. several tires in the tasks, spread all over the game as it is now.
When a player have gotten xx amount of influence in it, their daily is done. After getting xx amount of influence the monthly is done.
This could be done by continuing on the daily’s or by doing at least xx amount of the tasks it the monthly.

The reason people want them is because they are rare (expensive). If it was red and green colours, it would be those people wanted.
If they are colours or not depends who’s eyes look at them. As light they aren’t but as pigments they are.
Another thing is, there is no true black or true white dye’s in GW2

Problem with settling on just one server is the lack of people outside the server peak time. We might be more than 1000 members but moving eg. 500 NA members to the EU server isn’t enough to populate the EU server during NA peak hours.
Our “scouts” on other servers have not reported any server with a healthy around the clock population.
We didn’t all get in touch in game, but we held up the spirit on the forum being sure that playing together was only a matter of time.
Yes we were made aware that server transfer were going to cost, but we were also made aware of that we could guest any server and play with our friends anywhere in the world!
I wouldn’t mind paying a fee for it, but I will not pay every time I want to move. The way it is now, transferring servers are something you are meant to do only once (maybe twice), not several times a day.

Another way to take a “first person” shot, is to move close to something, eg a building, turn your focus around and take the shot through your toon. Sometimes you might have to remove shoulder pads and weapons.

We can only hope that ANet will listen to the criticism they have receive because of this, and rethink this decision.
I had a lot of faith in their postulates about how important building player community was(they did in GW1) and thought they would move forward and set a standard in building gaming communities, instead we get what others have already done; dividing players.
To a lot of us, our guild/community is the most important aspect of what we are doing together and not so much what we are doing.

I can only agree with those who feel very disappointed. Because of the split up of the servers half of us had to choose a NA server and the other half a EU server but we were sure we would be able to get together when guesting was implemented, but it seems like our community is going to be divided “for ever” and that we will never play together again.
Pity, this was such a great feature in GW1 and I’m afraid what this will mean for our community’s future in GW2

As MARA is a mature guild where the only requirement to join is the players age, which is 30 years, we are use to people having kids of all ages, kids and other rl requirement are the foundation of our laid back play style and why MARA was created in the first place. We have close to 1000 members and had about 1300 members in GW1 when the game was as it’s peak, so we must be doing something right and game officers and TS admins are long standing trusted members.
One of the things we do not tolerate is slandering of other members in gc, mc, sc or other public or semi public chat channels, after 2 warnings people will they will be kicked from the guild.
Posting obscene pictures and continuing slandering members on the forum will lead to a ban from the guild and the forums.
I don’t think these rules are much different from many other guilds.

I hope they do not raise the lvl cap but add more content for lvl 80. Cap doesn’t have to be raised to make new content. Eg a new land with a new story line or just a new area with a new story. Raising the lvl means that all content we have present becomes useless as you get higher lvl. Max lvl 20 in GW1 worked fine.

We’ve been wondering why we need so many different dungeon tokens? Why can’t one kind be enough? If it’s a matter of some dungeon armour have to be more difficult to get all it could take, was raising the cost of some armour.
The way it is now, people only run the dungeons where they can get the armour they want, they don’t want the different tokens to take up space in the inventory (considering how many you need and they stack only 250) Imo, they at least shouldn’t be bound.
I’m a little concern how dungeons runs (or lack of it) will look in the future also with game expansion in mind, we’ll probably get more dungeons and more kinds of tokens.

I’m a hoarder, I hoard weapon and armour skins and it’s the only things I collect. With only two toons at lvl 80 I have bough all panes possible and is running out of space and I’m expecting even more armour and weapons in the future with game expansions. Don’t ask me to sort it and make choices, that is not an option for me, would be the same to tell people who collect mini pets, that they only have room for 1/4 of those in game.

The MF does not make your drops better – it makes others drops worse. Since it exists, drop tables are calculated with it in mind – which of course means that everyone without MF gets less.
So how does this work if a full dungeon group has topped up with MF both on gear, boosts, cons, banners and guild boosts?
I have two sets of almost identical armour one with MF and one without . The different in my states are minimal and I can’t see any different when I’m soloing the same mobs in the same area. At least nothing worth mention, so I guess that applies to dungeons as well.

Shouldn’t be removed, it should be up to each player what states they want on their gear, otherwise, what is demanded removed next? You can always ask people not to wear MF armor/weapons/jewels in dungeons.

We got that on our wish list too, as we often are several groups mapping the same areas. If we could just get green dots on the min map that would make a huge different in the social aspect of the game.
