I think it is fair to say Anet haven’t decided what the next step is.
First, they have just launched in China. It is unlikely Anet will want to make any moves until they know how that plan out.
Second, it is clear Anet haven’t decided on how contents should be deliver either by Living stories format, an expansion, or a combination thereof.
Third, even if Anet have plans they are unlikely to make them public so soon after the China release. Say another 3 months we may hear some from Anet.

I haven’t played my ele for sometime so this question may sound noobee:
I notice some ele can boost the might in their group. I am wondering how they do that. Is that a trait? If so which one?
Thank for any useful reply in advance.
What a great idea! Other mmos have it – Wow, SWTOR, to name a few…
I think the dev should add that in the next patch. LOL good thing I am taking a break to play WS :P
Most likely no. Each map can contain about 150 ppl so it will cost alot to get that many npc. Also each trader only stay for 1 min or 2. you need to click then pretty fast.
however, I am sure the gem shope will love u to try.
I am a bit disappointed there is no commodity traders for dragoniate, bloodstone and empyreal in the 4 winds.
Also the shardblade trader only give green. A bit of a ripe off for those who brought extra bank space to store them.
Does toughness reduce condition damage?
Thank in advance for any useful response.
I can’t find a single guild bank in LA. Anyone seen one?
in Wildstar……
Just finish playing the beta in Wildstar and I found myself totally hooked. It offers everything I was looking for in GW2 and more.
While I don’t see myself as a “Hardcore” player that WS focuses on, I do find GW2 version of “casual” players focus boring. Everything in GW2 now is dumb down to a level that is zerg, stack and auto-attack. It maybe fine for a while but after nearly 2 years it is time to look else where.
I was pretty busy last week so I only had about 20 hours or so in WS and got up to level 13. I did watched a few video and live stream on higher level contents but I can really only speak about the early leveling first hand.
The graphic is very nice and it runs very smoothly even it is only beta. The art style being cartoon take a bit of getting use to and is the only thing that kept me trying WS earlier.
The game play is very action based even more so than GW2 and it is refreshing to be able to see what you are doing and be able to dodge enemy attacks. Unlike in GW2 where all you see is a lot of particle effects and burr in your screen.
The skills base has a lot of depth (from what little I have seen) and it reminded me of the GW1 skill system that I loved. My only concern is that each class only have 1 weapon selection which could be a limiting factor but I assume it make rooms for Carbine to add more in the future.
With the promise of Raid, wareplots, player housing and mounts I am really looking forward to the release of WS at the end of May,

In the defense of the OP, he(or she) is only pointing out the facts.
However, what happened in the parent company (NcSoft) does not mean Anet is not performing well. First of all the a/c is consolidated and did not show how Anet is doing separately.
Further more according to this Asian financial article http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/biz/2014/05/123_157346.html, the lower than expected profit is largely due to poor result from the Lineage series.
Given NcSoft has a strong line-up for the second half of the year (Wildstar, Sword & Soul, etc), the revenue should pick up for the final quarter of the year.
I assume the reason why Bloodstone dust, dragonite and Empyreal cannot be merchant is to avoid flooding the economy with gold. So how about create a NPC to exchange them for foods, or oils and other consumables?
This way it avoids any effects on the economy and give some value to these supposed rare ascended materials.
If you want subscription fee go and play in the Chinese server.
You even get a precursor if you spent enough money (For real).
Can some GW2 experts please answer about heal steal for me?
When you use a weapon/ food/skill that steal heal, do the heal steal based on damage done or healing power? IE I would better equip healing power/ power for more heal steal effects.
Also does the effects stack? Ie if I use food and weapon and skills that steal heal will I get 3 times the amount?
Thanks for any useful answer in advance.

It seem GW2 have pre-launched in China yesterday and A-net have manage to sold out their pre-order of 500,000 copies. Will this means GW2 is more popular in China than in the West?
It seems that in China you can get a “pre-cursor box” if you subscribe. I wonder if we are getting that next.
When is LS 2nd season starts?
Blade and Soul – another NcSoft MMO is being made into an anima and is currently available for download at the official site and in Japanese TV.
I am wondering if GW2 will follow. Given the rapid decline in players interest this maybe what GW2 needed to bring interest back into the game.
So whats your thoughts on this? Will a movie bring back life back in GW2?
It is not. The drop from the queen is pretty much the same as other mid level boss. It doesnt have any unique skins or mini.
Is the special merchant here yet or is it only spawn after anet sold 3 million bank slots?
Thank you. Just 1 question is zealot recipe discover or brought?
Is there a Precision, Power Healing set or a Precision Ferocity Healing set for armour and weapon?
my bank are full so it won’t end up there. kitten I hate making support ticket.
My broomstick and drill seems to be missing so is my wizard hat.
Hopefully with this patch will end all the zerker only lfg.
While Zerker still do the most damage, it is no longer significantly better than other builds. In fact, for some classes that based its damage on conditions or power using non zerker gears is now much better.
Even with warrior I notice with zerker gears I have lost more than 10% damage. I find using Knight now offer better Survivability without losing much damage.
Have you notice since last Saturday the servers status have change from full to very high and very high to high?
BG, TC, & JQ that is usually totally full now seem to be a lot more accessible. Other than server prime time I hardly get overflow anymore – even in WvW.
Good job Anet on whatever your are doing to make the servers more accessible.
The game been out for over 1.6 years so there aren’t many people in newbee zone.
As the previous post mention a lot people is running Champ farm in Queendale so you may just want to go there and grind a few level before you solo explore the other higher level areas.
Where is the special merchant mention in previous patch note? It is coming? Or is it a plot from Anet to make players to buy more bank space?
My bank and alts are full of all kind of junks and I am sick of transferring rubbish between my toons.
I am general positive about the megaserver changes. It seems to work well in TESO so there is no reason why it won’t work here in GW2.
My only concern is how GW2 is going to address the issue with world boss and other big events (eg LS, Scarlet invasions, etc) where these events are time gated based on Servers. Will they now all spawn at the same time across all serves? Or will I be forever be at the mercy of the RNG god since I can no longer select which server I go to?
TESO don’t have time gates on their wold events so there is no problems there. But in GW2 everything are heavy time gated. From events to resouces nodes to “so called” anti-farming measures (Diminishing returns). Are these things also going away to make this works? Or is it going to be a huge mess?

I think the bobbleheads is the best thing that have happen to GW2. It adds back the much need humor and fun back into the game. Somwthing that is lacking since the days of GW1.
I believe bobbleheads should be a permanent addition to the game.

LOL a good April fool Joke. Well done.
Do you think Anet has done enough on the feature pack to keep players going to another MMO from leaving or bring back players to GW2?
While the pack does have some nice things like the wardrobe, I am not sure it will have any effects on players who are bored or who have left. What are your thoughts?
Mahahaha I would keep it for sure.
Noone have send me anything so far. Feel free to donate to a good cause.
Is it my imagination or is all the latest changes to make GW2 more like the China Version?
Critical/damage nerf and gold nerf appears nothing more but to make the game more grindly. The only difference now between the GW2 and the China version are the Chinese version have 1) lower experience 2) a VIP program 3) they need to buy item to identify dye.
I am beginning to wonder when these thing is coming to the rest of the world.
You can still buy them and they will still be drop in special event(?).
The number required has drop from 250 to 100.
Check Duffy for more info
Sorry if this been ask or answer, I try to find the answer but can find any specific mention.
Is the new wardrobe going to replace the existing pvp wardrobe? So if we unlock something in PvE, it is also unlocked in pvp and vise versa?
Thanks for any useful answer in advance.
Weapons of the Sunless (from Teq) and Fractal skins can’t be bought from the Trading Post. However, there are many complaints that acquiring these skins relies too heavily on RNG where you may have killed Teq 300 times and got nothing or ran 1000 Fractals and received 10 Fractal Harpoons instead of the Fractal Sword you’re wanting.
So on one hand, you have legendaries which are a lot more common than their name suggests but everyone can get one with a bit of grind. On the other hand, you have weapon skins which are reasonably rare but requires the blessing of the RNG gods.
The solution lies within a middle ground between these two extremes. Perhaps, offer some suggestions for ArenaNet?
I am a bit of a old school MMO (started since EQ1). So I prefer items that earn thought a long and difficult quest and not something you could just buy. Things you can buy are seldom truly rare.
But back to your question. Like you say the solution is some where in between. You don’t have to make a item that need a 1000 hrs grind or totally depended on the RNG gods.
Let says (for example) a new ascended weapon that is made up of 4 parts in the Magic Forge. The first 3 parts are a/c bound non-tradeable that drop in a newly very difficult dungeon (3 times harder than the aetherblade) with 50% of dropping (50% of drop and 1/3 of the right part). The 4th part use to identify what type of weapon (eg a 2h sword or a mace) with a 10% drop but tradeable in TP (10% drop rate and 1/20 the right type of weapon).
Anet can play with the above percentage but it is the combination of a bit of grind, difficult contents, luck and even a bit of coins. It doesn’t have to be one way or the others. They just need to make it fun and a bit rare to give it value to the people who going to get it.
You can still buy dungeon paths last time I checked.
LOL this is for another thread but I strongly believe Anet should ban selling dungeon paths practices. Selling dungeon paths has caused some much upsets and scams I do not know why Anet allows it.
Dont have worm and Teq unique account bound skins as well?
Nope I am pretty sure the skins and mini are up on the TP. Very expensive but can be brought.
Don’t get me wrong. I love the whole wardrobe idea. But sometime people (collector like me) also like to own items that few others have.
Now with legendary and rare weapons/armour skins being account bound. You going to see a lot more of them. It is not uncommon to see 3 out of 5 people in a pug using a legendary now everyone will be using a legendary skin,
I am NOT saying legendary skin account bound is a bad idea. I am suggesting perhaps Anet should add a suit of armour and weapons that is extremely difficult to get thought a very hard dungeons or world raid that is not trade-able on TP. Something people can work towards and not just buy with their credit cards.
I know mounts wont come out any time soon, but I want to make a list of mounts that us players would love! Here are my suggestions, hope they can be realised :P
nb: the “flying” mounts don’t actualy fly, just like the flying broom doesn’t flyflying carpet(different colors) NO (this is not aladdin or alibaba)
cloud (white and stormy) NO (this is not DBZ)
whatchwork moa NO
giant cat NO (seriously)
go-cart NO
(most of the ranger pets) SOME YES SOME NO
electic wheelchair NO (WTF)
rolerskates NO
skateboard NO
hoverboard NO (this is not back to the future nor wildstar !!!)EDIT
The day they start heavily breaking the lore with crap like that it’s the day I stop playing
No but FF will sue. chocobo is copyrighted :P
And I quote… “Rumors tell of a merchant interested in items from major events in Tyria’s recent history, including Blade Shards. Players are encouraged to hold on to these items if they are interested in trading with her when she appears.” Meaning she will be appearing, but hasn’t yet.
but again. you announce something in the notes, we expect it to appear. That quote belongs on facebook, twitter and these fourms. not the update notes
They put it into the patch notes. so people dont disgard their blade shards. Previously, people complained because info like this was not in the patch notes.
Unless I fall asleep in my IT classes, patch note is to describe something you updated on the program NOT something you going to do.
But thats why I love GW it always do some totally different from the establishment. :P
Rainbow pony
Armoured Motorcycle
Can someone please tell me where is the special merchant mention in the last update note is?
I go looking for it but can’t find it anywhere.
Thanks for any useful response in-advance.
Anet better allow celestial gear reset!!!!!
It take a minimum of 30 days to make the crystal to make a set of ascended celestial armour and 10 more days to make a set of weapons. This make the celestial the most difficult set to make.
I am most annoyed that Celestial get nerf the hardest yet it is the most time consuming and expensive set to make! As I see it Anet have zero respect for their player’s time and effort. For me this is a game breaker, I was happy to just wait and see for another few more months to see how this game turn out. But this just give me a strong urge to pre-order the other game!
I am very unhappy with the change to Celestial. Not only celestial is the most difficult to craft. It has been nerf to death.
I have just completed an ascended celestial suit. It took me 30 days just to craft it. And from the change it would be totally useless for what I made it for.
Anet better give a 1 time stats change or redo Celestial to a better stats combination! This is a game breaker issue for me and I image everyone who have spent over a month to craft a set of celestial ascend gear.
Oh maybe it is not too late to pre-order before 31/03/14. I was going to wait for that game to go F2p but this may just be the motivation I need to move early.
Remember we used to be able to change traits from just uploading a new template we found on the net? Won’t it be great to see that coming back with the changes in traits on the 14th update.
I think the new traits system is a great idea but I would hate having to wait 5 mins in a dungeon run every time someone wants to change a trait.
Also another good thing to have is legendary armour. Having to carry and equip multiple armours is a pain. Perhaps Anet would consider adding the ability to change stats on ascended gears?
I am just wondering where people will be going to transfer to? With the latest patch there is a limited time free transfer.
Finally, a chance to get off my dead server to a more lively one. Sadly, BG, TC, and JQ are all full. So I am wondering which server in NA will be the next big server. So where is everyone going?
I do most end-game stuff (word boss farming, LS events, Guild missions,) also a big fan of WvW and would like to join a server that have good commanders on most of the time.
So please tell me where you would transfer to (if you transferring) and why.
I know the events just ended but usually the traders stay for a few weeks more so people can trade in all their events items.
But this time all the traders are gone. I still have quite a few stack of belongings and heirlooms I was planning to trade them in.
Please put the traders back.
I doubt we will see housing in GW2 until 6 to 9 months after the release of Wildstar. Housing is a main feature of Wildstar and I would be really surprise that GW2 would direct compete with it.
Well GW2 is almost 1 1/2 years old with no expansion and very little in term of permanent new contents to keep existing players or new players coming in.
My guess is the producers of GW2 already know this and that is the main reason why there is no significant investments in GW2 this year. It makes good business senses to just wait and see how the other MMOs are doing before invest more money in GW2.
If all the other MMOs bombed this year then GW2 can easily survive with minimum efforts on its part. However, if any of the other MMOs take away player base from GW2 Anet can always reduce expenditure to match its income.
So in answering your question, I think GW2 will survive for a very long time. What is not know is what state it will be in – a popular mmo with a lot of active players or a small niche mmo with a small but loyal following.
How about you craft some tonics or toxic nourishment?
LOL how many ppl craft those?! you need toxic spore that is no longer dropped. You also need dust and they are expensive. Which make the tonics and nourishment too expensive for general use.
LoL just go and get yourself a set of RINGS OF MARA and be done with it
I am sure it will be available soon in Gem store (after 4 April maybe)
