So how do we all rate the end of LS season 1

But anyhow, like many people suggested I would like to see an extension to the time to farm these cores. Given the drop rate isn’t all that high and you need like 10 of each core to make one of each BP.
(edited by Moderator)
Have you try the Order of Whisper hall in Bloodtide Coast? You need to enter it and go to the end to get that POI. Visiting the door won’t do it. Most ppl miss that 1.
Good luck
I guess I’ll save my 10 g and wait for it to be available in Gem store :P
I wouldn’t assume they would end up there.
As far as I know nothing obtainable strictly from the game have later on been made obtainable via gems.
LOL Anet is starve for MONEY after April with 3 AAA mmo being release Anet need to milk all they can get :P
So I am pretty sure everything will be in Gem Store sooner than later :p
Thanks.
The halo looks decent size for the other race other than Asura. Now only if they could make it shinny.
Shame about the horn. Look weird flowing above the head like that. I guess I’ll save my 10 g and wait for it to be available in Gem store :P
Can someone please point me to a site or kindly put up some pics for the horns and halo for each race?
I have only seen the pic for halo and horn for human and Asura. I notices the halo fit totally different between the Asura and Charr. Asura halo being very small and the charr one is huge. I just wonder what they look like on other races to see if I could be bother getting them.
Thanks in advance.
Well, no. If you really want to buy legendary stuff, you can always buy gems and convert them to gold.
No thanks the gem to gold rate is poor that will make the ledgendary armour very expensive. I rather give my money to Anet then some gold seller!
I think it will be a good idea to put legendary armour on gem store. It will save us a lot of time. I am pretty sure everyone hate the grind. It will also be alts friendly.
I am sure some people like me will need to take up a second job for this but it beats doing champ farm 9 hours a day for 6 month?!
Maybe in GW3 but it is very unlikely GW2 will be on PS4 or XBox one.
As mention before the cost is high and the risk is great.
While I am not a game designer, my experience in IT suggests that it is often easier to write a new program than to convert an existing one into another platform and/or language.
Yes for the amount of efforts needed to get one the bugs and concerns are very much a let down.
I will be show of goodwill if Anet fixes this problems as suggested by many of the posts here. But given the track records of Anet I am not holding my breath.
Congratz.
Just 1 question: is it single use or unlimited?
The leveling curves of the game is designed to be even at every level, so that way you can feel like you’re making the same progress as you would in the previous level. Given how fast it is to level in this game, they couldn’t just add 10 levels unless they break their original intent with making all levels the same curve in terms of time.
So basically, unless they break their manifesto even more, were not going to see more levels.
The manifesto never mention anything about no level cap increases. In fact, in the video the producers said they are expected the level cap to be unlimited and will be increase steady in the future.
Have you notice the world map is much large than before?
Just recently I notice the world map have gotten bigger. There is a lot more areas that is not yet accessible. I am looking forward to more contents to explore so I can’t wait until we see them.
However, I wonder when they will be available and what level they will be. I can’t image the points of more low level areas as most low level areas are ghost towns anyway.
In the traditional mode we will be expecting they will be available in an expansion but in the living story mode I have to wonder. Since adding new areas and raising level caps are very big jobs and cost alot of money, I wonder how Anet is going to approach this and how they going to get their money back.
So whats your thoughts.
Currently Blackgate is the NA main raid server (raid I mean the big world boss like Teq and worm and big living story event like Marionette). This means BG is always full and people have to queue for a hour to avoid getting in an overflow.
Since Anet is intend to add more big events that require a lot of people, won’t it be better to create a dedicated raid server where everyone can guest for free and have a dedicated bigger resources so overflow can be avoided?
winter break. The devs are humans too?
LOL I thought Anet hired some unpaid overworked Gnomes from 3rd world countries to do all their living stories development :P
And since Gnomes don’t get winter holiday I was expecting new contents :P
Been away for Xmas and haven’t logged in much for the last month. I notice the games haven’t been updated since 14 Dec. What happen to the 2 weekly update? Another broken promise?!
Like some of the previous posters had said there is really no reason why anyone need to level up their alts the old fashion way (unless they wanted to).
If you been playing for a year you get a exp scroll that get your toon to level 20, and if you pvp and have tons of valor you can get exp scroll very cheaply. For most people they can get to lvl 80 in 15 mins and costly less than few golds (can’t remember how much for 60 scrolls but not much)
That the way of the future for GW2. Anet need to make money! With no expansion and decline in box sales, how will the developers pay the bills?!
With all the new AAA mmos coming on 2nd half of this year, Anet need to milk as much as they can before the players base drop significantly. Be prepare for a significant increase in Gems store items.
lol I often wonder if Anet ever play their games.
Look at the Upgrade extractor for example. It costs 250 gems to purchase. This means 17 golds. The most expensive upgrade is about 5 golds.
So who will use an extractor unless you got one free from an lion chest?!
The number 1 problem that kill GW1 according to Anet is that GW1 spread the players base too thin with its many expansions. This is the reason that is given to why the producers are so reluctant in adding new maps and expansion.
However, with its 24 servers in NA and over 20 world bosses events plus WvW and sPvP. One could argued that Anet is already spreading its players far too thin.
Most players tend to aggregate to the most populated servers. This makes the top 3 servers in WvW very popular and result in Overflow and long waits. Where as, the bottom in WvW servers feel like ghost towns I often find myself guesting on BG and TC just to do events because there is no one around on my server and everything is permanently contested.
I have no idea what the active player base is but my guess is around 500k regular plus 400k who play sparingly. My hunch is that there are far too many servers for far too few players.
This is a problem that only Anet can fixed. The simply solution is a servers merged or look at how ECO is designing its servers where there is no designated servers and players are assigned to where their friends are.
(edited by Cloudwalkernz.1328)
then Trahearne must be Batman and Logan the Robin
I do not wish to be rude but, judging by the amount of legendary around (over 80% of activity players have at least 1 legendary), if you really wanted one you could have easily got a precursor.
Most precursors are under 400g and that is like less than a week of farming! The most expensive ones like the legend is around 500 to 600k that is just over 1 week of champ farming!
I would hate legendary become more common as it is very common now as it is.
Sorry that happen to you. But it happen all the time particular with a guild pug where they most likely kick you to make room for another guildee. Sadly to say this is well within the rules and Anet will most likely do nothing even if you sub a ticket.
I usually don’t join a guild pug for that reason.
Hope this video may cheer up you http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TP3KFy8Yl6E
(edited by Cloudwalkernz.1328)
LOL there is still the bi-weekly update (aka living stories). It should keep you busy for 2 to 3 days every 2 weeks.
Other than that, WvW maybe your next best bets.
If you are not interested in the above then the next 2 big mmos is coming out in spring 2014. Or wait until GW2 decided to make an expansion but that might be a very long wait. My guess is at least spring 2015.
LOL unlike the OP, I actually looking forward to a sub based MMO. Why? you may asked. It is because like a lot of people I am sick of all the so called free to play MMO. I always end up spending more money than I am on a sub based MMO. Also I am sick of the RNG and P2W rubbish.
As far as GW2 goes, it is fairly good value for money. Sadly, maybe because it has no sub, Anet don’t seem to be able to afford to make an expansion like a sub based MMO lile WoW which has just announce yet another expansion. Something that no doubt will help them to bring back a lot of old players and new alike.
As far as B2P, I think only Ever Quest Next is following that model. Every other new MMOs are either sub or f2p.
My advice to get over your addiction is to keep playing. The game isn’t that immersive. After a while one of the many little imperfections in the game will make you lost interests.
Particularly, if you hit level 80, played most of the contains , and now run out of end-games activities to keep you interested. But until then have fun.
Champions :100g a day
Dungeons: 20g a day
Fractals : 5g a dayNice balance between risk vs reward .
100 gold per day from Champions? Please great one instruct me on how to achieve this … since I have done it for months and it is about 2 gold per hour. I just did 2 tests since the silver nerf of 250 bags and both runs were 10 goldish in straight coin. Anyone farming these is farming them for money for precursors so they are holding on to the rare T6 mat drops.
You have to base estimates on how much you earn by the silver generated since all items are RNG based. Please stop with the troll threads calling for nerfs of something you obviously do not do.
It is very easy to farm 100g per day from champs with zero MF if you do it for 14 hours non-stop per day. :P
I just met a guy with 5 legendary in a dungeon PUG. I have a legendary as well but that guys just made me feel so under-equipped – almost feel like naked even!
Come to think of it, most people in Pug nowadays have at least 1 legendary. Many have 2 or more. If you use the number of people standing outside of the LA bank as an indication, 8 out of 10 people must have at least 1 legendary. The last 20% must be people who have just started, people playing alts, or people simply don’t like the looks of the legendary.
I think it is about time to make legendary weapon legendary again:
TIME TO RAISE THE LEVEL CAP!
This will make all current legendary obsolete. New better looking and harder to get level 100 legendary can be introduced. Image your legendary weapons are rare again and not a standard issued piece of tin foil that everyone who wants it has.
You all agree with me? Yes!
Because they want you to use real money, but in the end the results are lackluster.
RNG boxes need to go, its getting insulting.
I think u are right on the money part :P
And seriously it will only get more expensive as the supply of gold out stripe the demand of gems.
If any Anet economist is reading this, you know u need to introduce more gold sink to balance supply and demand of gold vs gems. Something ridiculously expensive like players housing. Maybe your own castle in WvW for a million gold?
You made some good point: The role specialization is needed for co-ordination in a raid
We need roles for coordinated events with large groups, but we do not need a trinity for this. Tequatl is the first step in the direction to coordinated events. Players have to fill their role like cannoneers, turret defenders/repairers or dragon killer. If the people know their roles Tequatl dies in 7 minutes. Otherwise he will live forever.
A big issue in GW2 is the fact that many encounters do not require roles. DPS can overwhelm anything. In many cases we have a singularity in last consequence where each party member is nuking down the target.
Arenanet has to create encounters where roles are needed and can’t be left unoccupied. Encounters must not be trivialised by sheer damage. In Canachs lair we had healing turrets which could be ignored . This was a bad design.
I kind of agree and dis-agree with your assessments. Yes, Anet need to create encounters where roles are needed.
The problem Anet and perhaps other MMOs (as well) is players don’t always know what they are required to do. The poster above mention TA Aetherpath is a good example. Unless Anet provide a voice server like console (Xbox360 for example) do. The contents are likely to be ignored by many players who simply could not be bother to learn.
I know some people will say you can download something like teamspeak but expect a causal player to get it, install it and use it just for an encounter maybe asking too much.
The reason why Trinity is used in almost all mmos is because the roles are well defined and people know what is expected of them. Personally I think GW1 with its duel professions got this problem solved. Sadly, GW2 is nothing like GW1.
(edited by Cloudwalkernz.1328)
Trinity is fine. Every MMOs except GW2 have it. Even new mmos that is coming soon have a healer class. Trinity is important for raids. The role specialization is needed for co-ordination in a raid. That is the reason why GW2 has no raids and all world boss events are a Zerg.
After saying that I doubt we will see Trinity in GW2 since it is developed specify without it. To add trinity now will mean a total redevelopment of its core design. It would be easier to build GW3!
(edited by Cloudwalkernz.1328)
Where is everyone hiding? There is hardly any players in world boss events in my servers. Even the mad king’s realm is kind of empty now. Hardly anyone is doing champs farm in Frostgorge Sound.
My servers is at the bottom of WvW so there is hardly any1 playing there.
I heard the arguments that Anet don’t want to split the players base too thin so that is the reason why they won’t add more new areas. So this can’t be the reason why there is empty servers right?!
Perhaps a they should merge all servers below T3 in WvW into just 3 servers?
LOL is the forum that negative that the studio director need to write such a long post warning the community to be nice?!
I notice Anet recently been advertising like mad for new players . Is all the negativity in the forum jeopardizing Anet’s efforts?
Perhaps people should spending more time playing the game instead of QQing on the forums. Teq is pretty lonely these days maybe all the qq-ers should go and do this event so I can finally finish it
Well if you look at your bank slots you will notice T7 materials (currently not available) assigned for (presumably) crafting ascended armours.
So I would be very surprise if ascended armours are not craftable. What is not know is if Anet is going to make them more available through drops/tokens than ascended weapons.
Putting them in fractals will be nice since I haven’t played fractals for a while.
OP, The problem with that assessment is that why can’t they use the living story to put that content into the game?
On a similar note, the only temp thing in this patch is (I believe) a single Meta-achievement
You can put the same contents into the game through living story but in WoodenPotatoes ’s video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AidBQxGQsSg), he put up a good argument why it is better to deliver the new contents in an expansion.
As I have mention before the problem I have with the current living stories is that the contents vary greatly from week to week. Sure this week is only an achievement and a back piece. But previous weeks you will miss entire new maps, jumping puzzles, new weapon and armour skins and whole regions like the SAB. etc.
I would more than happy if Anet can actually deliver the same level of contents you would normally see in an expansion in the living stories format. However, currently the living stories contents fall well short of that. And I am simply getting tired with the drip-feed temporary contents.
My issue with this is, when can they release an expansion? NCSoft won’t let them compete with WildStar next year. So if we get an expansion it will be end of 2014 or somewhere around 2015. That seems to late in my opinion.
Yea I think it is the main reason why Anet been so hush hush about an expansion. Even if Anet start working on an expansion today, I doubt we will see it until end of 2014. I will most probably be playing ECO by then or even WS if the review is good.
I recently view this video by WoodenPotatoes.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AidBQxGQsSg
After viewing this it got me thinking. I am not going to list his arguments here but some of my own thoughts as a player of this game.
I agree with WoodenPotatoes, GW2 sorely need an expansion. Like most players I am beginning to get bored with this game. I have pretty much done everything many many times. Also I am getting very bored with all the zerging and grinding, I need new contents to keep my interest.
I know about the living stories but I have 2 problems with this:
1) I hate drip feed temporary contents that have a time limit. This means whenever I take a break I will missed out on that contents. For people with real life, playing every day is not always possible.
2) The quality and quantity vary greatly week to week. Some weeks can overload you where there aren’t enough time to do all the contents, whereas some weeks you can pretty much finishes all the new contents in the first 3 to 4 days.
I hope Anet will make an expansion for GW2. Otherwise, like most people I will be moving on to the new AAA mmo when it releases.
Some constructive feedback for SAB
in Super Adventure Box: Back to School
Posted by: Cloudwalkernz.1328
Thank you Anet for bring back SAB. It is undoubtfully the best living storing event. Here is what I think:
1) Anet should remove all the boring stories and just stick to what you do best, – i.e. making dungeons and jumping puzzle. For the other living stories event – please note any English teacher would tell you a story need a beginning, middle, and an end. Some random events tied together with a dungeon does not make a story!
2) Thank you for the patch. Prior to the patch I have die many times just try to do World 2 in Normal mode. Now it is about right for me. I know the elitists been QQing about the nerf but please keep in mind that not everyone have perfect internet connections and can’t make perfect jumps all of the time.
3) I have mixed feeling about the infinite coin. I brought it right away as I don’t have the time to farm bauble bubbles for extra life as I want to buy 3 of the new weapon skins. However, the idea of infinite coins trouble me. I guess it is ok in an optional mini-game but I would hate to see it in the main game.
4) Releasing SAB together with the Ascended Weapon is a bit of an overload for me. Due to real life commitments I don’t have as much time in the last couple of months as I used to. In addition most materials for ascended weapons are time gated which means I have to farm them everyday. Plus I have 8 characters with over 5 weapons each. It would take me 3 months of full time farming just to get the materials. I would love to spend more time in SAB but I couldn’t.
Overall, great job with SAB. I just wish there could be more time to spend on it.
Please feel free to comments on my feedback or add your own. Please keep your comments constructive as title suggested.

No! And I want more stuff! Free will be better.
It was too easy! Tribulation Mode complete!
in Super Adventure Box: Back to School
Posted by: Cloudwalkernz.1328
LOL of course it is too easy. You and everyone else who have complete it have brought the infinite life token.
Difficulty have no meaning if you have a lot of free time and no penalty. Anyone can do it if they don’t mind dying a few hundred or thousand time and can spare 30 to 40 hours doing it over and over again.
I won’t call this fun or anyone who done it skilled. I’ll most likely do it myself at the last week of SAB for my achivements points. ATM I have better things to do now like farming for ascended gears.
If you don’t enjoy endless 24/7 zerg framing and think grind for the shinnies are fun then I think GW2 is not for you.
The developers have make it clear there is no new expansions in the foreseeable future. Any new contents are drip feed through living stories where they must make money from germ store sales. Look at the last SAB World 2 for example. It is designed so you will buy the infinite coin. GW2 is slowly becoming a P2W.
I can say with confidence that if you don’t enjoy zergplay GW2 is not for you. Everything from WvW, Champ farming, and living story events are all about zerging.
Hardly anyone is doing non zergplay activities now a day since all zerg farming give the most rewards.
Good luck finding a new MMO. I heard there is a couple that sound pretty promising. It is not too late to sign up for beta.
Not sure what so cutthroat about the Lion Arc election. Where is the usual mud sling? Sex scandals, empty promises (Read my lips no new taxes!), foreign campaign donations, election box tempering, etc. This makes any real-life election looks like a cesspool of corruption in comparison! Come-on at least give us a (fan-services) picture of Ellen taken in her younger days when “she needed the gold” :P
There is not even a pre-election debate or earlier results.
Anyway, every1 know Ellen Kiel is going to win so I guess no1 is bothering with it.
Sad really! Anet could make this a lot more interesting but as usually the story elements are so dull it makes everyone fall asleep.
On the plus side the mini-games are well done. Perhaps Anet should just spend the resources on making mini-games than to write boring living stories that no one cares about.

With the recent announcement of MF gear going away, it seems celestial gears which contain 3% MF is going to be obsolete before anyone can make them.
I was going to replace all my MF armour and weapon with celestial but now it seems I wont need to. By the time I can make enough charged crystal, ascended gears will be available.
This make me wonder if the left hand know what the right hand is doing at Anet.
This is an interesting development. Sad for me I have just recently purchase MF gears for all my 7 alts due to the need to farm events items.
Personally I don’t mind so much MF disappearing since I never like it anyway. For me, I guess it all come down to timing. If MF is going away in 2014 then it is fine with me since I will have got 5 to 6 months use of my gear. If it goes away the next update then I will be most unimpressed.
As to what happen to our existing MF gears. It will be best if we could trade them for something else or give me new stats and make them unbound so we can sell them if we don’t like the stat.
RNGing belcher bluff will not work. There are strategies listed online for all of these…
Adnul is quite hard to defeat due to his special move which prevent you from using Bluff for three rounds. Additionally, Adnul love to use his Belch on your heals. It may take you quite a few attempts to defeat him.
- The signature move best used against him is Boast from Caiwyn. Use this skill when you are at very low health and forced to drink due to Adnul’s buff.
- Watch for his buff and try to get in Bluffs between his buffs to prevent taking damage from drinking.
I did him in my 7th try I believe, basically bluff like crazy when you can, dont use your other abilities and save those for when you cant bluff and then as specified when you have to drink and are on low health use the Boast skill first.
If you going to quote a strategy from Dulfy.net, you should list the source. http://dulfy.net/2013/07/08/gw2-belchers-bluff-activity-guide/#more-46277
I guess luck /RNG is on your side. I been doing it for like 3hrs and no luck.
Food and regeneration boaster don’t work anymore (at least 15 mins ago when I tried). It seems that is only thing Anet decided to fix.
I agree with the op regarding to Belcher. I don’t mind difficult but I hate games that are totally depended on luck to win. It make me rage so bad that I have to stop or I may break another keyboard.
For people who say there is a pattern. they are seeing pattern on things that is random. Much like seeing the face of Jesus on the pizza you just ordered. I read most of the guides on the net and none seems to work. The only thing seems to work will be pure luck and persistence. Skills seems to have nothing to do with it.
Belcher is obvious designed for people with no skills and a lot of time on their hands.
nevermind found them. They are just under another tab :P almost give me a heart attack :P The candy vendor is gone however. Anyone know if he is still around.
Or do I just sell them on TP.
Just take a few days break from GW2 and login the weekend to claim my weapon skins. But all the vendors are gone!!!!
In previous events the vendors would still be there a week after the event but this time 3 days and they are all gone!!!
Please don’t tell me my tickets are now worthless!!! I have open over 3,000 of these kitten chests just to get 3!!!!
